Something I've been thinking about more and more is making my baby's food. My mom made all of mine and most of my brother's and I'm just wondering if any of the moms out there want to share any baby food making tips, knowledge, etc.

I know my mom had a book called "Feed Me, I'm Yours" but I've never read it. Just looking for some basic tips and wondering how you do yours!

I used to just cook veggies until tender and buzz them in my food processor. I got a bunch of the Glad disposable containers (the little round ones) and put the veggies in there, labeled, then froze.

With fruit, I would use canned stuff (packed in juice) if fresh wasn't available. If fresh was available, I gently cooked it on half power in the micro and then put in the food processor. Storage was the same as above.

If the food was too thick, I usually added EBM when it was time to eat.

Once DD was able to handle more textures, I didn't puree the food as thoroughly. Eventually, I started adding finely minced, cooked chicken and tiny pieces of pasta or a bit of rice.

Really, it was very easy. I made the babyfood while I was cooking dinner so it wasn't like I had to set aside time specifically to make food. And one sweet potato makes a lot of food, so once you get a good bank going, you won't have to make it every day.

I make my own baby food. There was another thread on this topic recently. I'll try to find it and bump it up for you.

I used www.wholesomebabyfood.com fpr ideas and suggestions.

HTH!
