Hello all!
I know there is a WW thread but I'm on the Jenny Craig plan so I didn't want to post there. So I just thought I'd start a thread for anyone who is just dieting in general on any plan or doing it themselves.
It is a tough road. My story. I gained 36lbs in my pregnancy and was very large after I had the baby, 218lbs! (I'll need to find some before and after pics) I started Jenny Craig in Oct. 2004 and have been on it since.
I have lost a total of 35lbs but recently have lost the umph to stay on the menu. I didn't exercise at all last week. I'm so ashamed. But I'm starting again this week new and I'm gonna exercise (30 minutes on the Eliptical machine 5 times a week) and get back on the wagon!

Anyway, just thought I'd start this for anyone who is just dieting in general.

Congrats on your weight loss! Getting back into shape after a pregnancy is so hard, and I'm with you on losing the drive to work out.
I lost 18 pounds before our wedding (my goal was 25), and although I've only put back on about 7 pounds, I feel worse than I did when I was heavier. My "skinny jeans" are too tight to wear, and it's frustrating.
Today after work I'm going to rejoin Curves. We bought a home gym right as my membership committment was ending, so I didn't renew it. I've regretted it since but figured I'd get into the swing of using our home gym. Not so. I've used it probably 5 times since April.
I'm also going to get their Weight Management Plan book. There are two different meal plans (one high protein-low carb, and one low calorie). I haven't tried the "diet" part of Curves but since we have a family beach vacation coming up at the end of August, I'm going to try to jump start my weight loss.
I know it's hard to stay motivated, but maybe we can help eachother :)

Tomorrow, I'm going to a consultation with LA Weight Loss.... I am so ready to lose weight that it's not funny. I was diagnosed with Diabetes and I lost 35 pounds. However I need to lose alot more so I am going to see what LA Weight Loss is all about.
I know that I need to be active. Something that I haven't been in a couple of months. My eating has gotten bad as well.. I have been having such an appetite lately that I'm getting concerned.
Wish me luck!

Good luck! My coworker (and gym partner) is on the LA Weight Loss diet-- and she's lost 70lbs in the past 7 months. Her ultimate goal is to lose 150! She looks awesome-- and I admire her motivation and determination.
If you are ready to lose the weight-- you can do it!!!
Best wishes :D

One of my biggest fears when I start losing weight is to look old. I see alot of women that lose alot of weight and they look sickly, saggy and old. I don't want that; I want to look like a smaller version of me.
Take a look at Star Jones. She looks horrible to me. She looks so old now and sickly now that she has lost all that weight.
Oprah.. Now she looks awsome! She has lost alot of weight but she does not look old or saggy..
Wonder what makes the difference?

I went to my LA WEIGHT LOSS appointment and it was great. Thinking all that time I was gaining weight, I lost 8 pounds!
Anyway they gave me this stuff to flush out my system (looks like that hollywood diet thingy) And I go full steam ahead starting Monday!
This thingy is not cheap! I am paying about $400.00 for this..... :(
Right now I want to lose about 50 by December 31st... My realistic goal is at least 100 lbs by my 40th birthday.... So that's 2 years and 2 months from now... LOL...

I think that Star Jones had a gastric bypass. I know she hasn't copped to that, but it seems that when people do that surgery, they often end up looking a little weird -- like their heads don't fit their bodies. I believe Oprah lost her weight by dieting (and maybe some liposuction or something). So, maybe that's the difference . . .?
Anyway, good luck with your weight loss!

I am down to a size 20!!!! Just last year I was in a 24! :D :D :D :D
I haven't weighted myself because that will only stress me out. But I can tell I lost because my clothes are waaaayyy too big on me. I went window shopping and I tried on a 20 in pants and they fit like a glove.
I am so used to wearing clothes kind of baggy and it was a trip to see me wearing clothes that fit me perfectly and felt comfortable at the same time.... I look so small that it's weird!

GEORGIANA-I'm so curious about LA Weight Loss. Can you explain how the progam works?

What happens is they get a profile from you and based on the information, they start you on a eating plan that will cater to your needs. In the eating plan, you are allowed certain foods per day and per week. For instance for my diet, I am only allowed three eggs per week. I am allowed so many proteins, carbs, vegetables, fat, etc a day/ per week. I am supposed to eat at least 5 times a day but I am struggling with that. I am working on eating more and drinking more water, but it has been so hard. When I joined it costs me 5 bucks a week -that was the special that they were running at the time. However, they are now at 7 bucks a week. You total payment is based on how many weeks it will take for you to get to your goal weight. Right now my goal is to knock off 50 lbs by the end of the year. By 2007, I want to have 50 more knocked off... Once you reach your goal weight, you will get back 50% of your total payment you put into the program.
