I am experiencing a miscarriage at about 7 weeks. Although I am still bleeding I am trying to look ahead and thinking about trying again. The doctor said to wait until after my next period. I was just wondering how long others have waited and what your doctors have recommended.
TIA!

Hi lawphil, I read your other post earlier today and I'm so sorry you're going through this. Your doctor's recommendation sounds about right. With my first m/c (D&C @ 10 wks) we waited one cycle but with the chemical pregnancy we didn't bother waiting. Some doctors also want to run bloodtests to make sure your hcg gets down to 0.
Again, I'm sorry for your lost and wish you the best of luck when you are back on the TTC bandwagon.
HUGS!! I was there recently and now how you feel. I'm so sorry.
My OB/GYN said to wait just one cycle too! And for me it wasn't that bad. I had a D&C on June 4 and was able to TTC again in early July. Just had to wait until the bleeding stopped and then one cycle until AF came again.

I waited for AF to come twice after my D&C (miscarried at 8 weeks). I have no idea what the reasoning was, but it's what the RE suggested.

I had a natural m/c at 7 weeks and the dr. said to wait just one cycle (the m/c-ing cycle). Many people though have gotten pregnant the same cycle and have very healthy pregnancies though. I think it is more an emotional consideration rather than a physical after the 1st cycle.

I had a natural m/c at about 7 weeks too and my doctor monitored my hcg levels to zero, but she said there was no reason to wait to TTC again. We got pregnant again immediately (apparently it's a very fertile time).

fyi... if you think there's an important reason you want to wait then use some form of birth control during that time.

I miscarried naturally at 8 weeks. My Dr. suggested waiting a couple of cycles. I didn't really listen to her and tried anyway, we were unsuccessful though. I am now on my 4th cycle post miscarriage and they aren't quite back to normal yet.
I am very sorry for your loss and I hope that you are successful in getting PG again very soon!

I'm sorry you are experiencing this. I had a m/c at 5w2d on July 31. My doctor said I could start again immediately. I have also heard that you are very fertile right after having a m/c. DH and I started TTC again this week.
It is good to be positive and read others' posts about success after a loss. After having experienced this I have learned that many people in my circle of friends have gone through it, but subsequently been successful in carrying a healthy child to term.
I am confident that you (and I!) will soon be blessed with successful pgs. Good luck!

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for all of the info. It is really great to hear about everyone else's experiences.
Now if I could only get these beta numbers down. They seem to be sticking in the 600's. I am hoping I don't need a shot but it may turn out to have to happen.
Anyway, thanks for sharing your experiences!
