I want to preface this by a story.

My best friend was 7 months pg in June when her baby son died in her womb and she was induced to give birth. She has still not gotten her period and she is anxious to get it so she can start TTC again. She knows she has to wait a couple of cycles so she really wants to get the whole thing started again. Short of getting a progesterone shot from the DR is there anything that she could do to bring it on?

I'm sorry for your friends loss.

Besides a shot, there is provera, which is a pill form of progesterone that you take for a certain amount of time (there is a 5 day and 10 day dosage) that will induce AF.

I've also heard that you can take a pack of BCP's.

Good luck to your friend, hopefully she can get back to regular cycles very soon.

Thanks Jennylou for your sympathy.

I researched online and saw Chasteberry pop up several times. I went to my local health food store and bought chasteberry tea and the extract. My best friend drank some tea and dropped some of the extract into her soda throughout the day. Lo and behold AF arrived yesterday. Was it the chasteberry? We'll never know. I am so glad she got it. It's great to hear her so upbeat again.

I'd never heard of the chasteberry, wish I would have known about that during my long cycles before I found provera. I'm glad it worked for your friend.

I've never heard of that either. I have to go on Prometrium, which I think is the generic version of Provera.
