I searced for a thread, but couldn't find one.

Anyone making their own food? I am thinking of starting DS on solids in about 2-3 weeks (he will be a little over 5 months old). Just wondering if anyone has advice or recipes to try.

Thanks!

You should try getting the book "Super Baby Food". It has a ton of imformation about what to feed, and when, and also some advice on preparation. From what I have seen this is the most comprehensive baby food book out there right now.

"Super Baby Food" is a great book!

All 3 of my kids were fed on home made baby food (with a few exeptions). I was lucky to have gotten a food steamer for my first marriage and I sure did use it ALOT!! And I was also lucky that we have a great farmer's market here to get a lot of organic veggies!

Neen- what kind of food steamer do you have? I was thinking of getting the one from Pampered Chef for the microwave.

Super baby book is a great reference, just be ware that it can be a bit overwhelming. Remember as you are reading it that you can just take what you want from it. You don't have to do everything she did. Her information on how to prep each food and why it is a good food and how long it will keep in the freezer is an excellent reference to have around.

Did anyone successfully get their DC to eat the super porridge? If so what combo of dry ingredients did you use?
