Hey ladies - I got home yesterday from my trip to Portland and it was just awesome. Not only did I get to see all my siblings but my 2 nieces were there and they are so freaking cute!
Plus they threw me a surprise shower!!! OMG I was so surprised - I seriously had no clue. It was super sweet and very small b/c it was basically just family but I was really touched. :) The big gift we got is our BOB stroller! Amazing! Then from assorted aunts & siblings I got so stocked on cloth diapers and was able to exchange items to personalize my "stash". Super fun!
My sister who has the 2 girls also brought me 2 huge duffel bags full of clothes. Seriously huge. We had them on the floor and you couldn't see me sitting behind the pile. Its unreal!
I feel so blessed and really loved and was just so touched that everyone went out of the way to make a special day for me too even though I was there to help celebrate my sister's upcoming son. (I have 2 sisters - one has 2 girls, the other is preggo with a boy due Dec 16).
Other than that I'm getting noticeably bigger! I took some photos in the gym this morning so hopefully I can post soon. Just wanted to say hi and I'll catch up soon! :D

Morning ladies!
I am getting excited for Thanksgiving! Mmm...
Good news around here is that I got my maternity leave all worked out. I'll be out completely for about two weeks, and then work from home part-time for the next 10. It's a really good deal - I have sort of a weird job and there isn't anyone who can fill in for me. Anyway, I am glad to have it settled!
I also checked with the day care center here at work, and they think there's a "pretty good chance" that babygirl will get a spot in June, which is just crazy, considering that I've been on the list since mid-June of last year! It's probably our best shot at a daycare slot, so I hope it works out!
We STILL haven't found crib bedding that we love, so DH and I are making one final shopping trip this weekend, and that's it. Decision time.
spa_girl Yay for the surprise shower! How sweet and thoughtful! Can't wait to see your latest pics! I am feeling quite large myself.
snoopy30 I hope you passed the one hour GTT. Thanks for sympathizing on my meltdown... These hormones are nuts.
newyorkgirl Oh trust me, if DH weren't there, I almost certainly would have cracked and ordered the damn turkey sub. He also made me ask if the blue cheese on my salad was pasteurized at dinner this week. Fortunately, it was, because if I was denied my arugula, blue cheese and pecan salad, another meltdown might have happened! :)
I hope you got the ok to travel! Keep us updated...

I'm here, just been super super busy at work. Hope everyone is doing well. I had Dr. appointment today and everything is looking good. I was up 2 pounds for a total of 22 pounds so far. I'd like to keep it on the low side so we'll see. I also found out I failed the 1 hour (I failed last time too) and I had to do the 3 hour eventhough I told my midwife that I would pass the 3 hour w/ flying colors which I'm happy to report I did! I love being right :p
I'm having my baby "sprinkle" from my work next Tuesday so I'm excited about that. Then my mom, aunt and cousin are throwing me a small little family sprinkle on December 6th. I really didn't want anything but my family insisted and its going to be very small and casual so...
Count me in as another that can't wait to eat all the yummies at Thanksgiving! We are staying home (thank God!) so I'm really excited to celebrate w/ our family.
We have our office Xmas party coming up in a couple of weeks & I'm at a loss as to what to wear to it. Its cocktail attire so if anyone has any suggestions, let me know.
Take Care ladies.

I just had my 28 week appointment yesterday - I've put on 30 lbs so far. I was shocked, but am measuring great and feel great so I guess my body is just stocking up on calories while it can.
I did the GTT and passed with a 68 - I was really excited since the cut-off is 130 so my sugar numbers were good (in spite of my huge sweet tooth).

I'm happy to report too that I passed the 1-hour GTT with an 81. Sorry to those who have not passed it. I failed with DS #1-it's frustrating because it seems way too many women fail the first one but go on to pass the 3-hour.
weight gain I'm up to maybe 18 pounds, which is about the same as with my first. I feel like my face is always puffy these days, such a lovely look ;)
I'm so frustrated because it has been one illness after another in my house for the last 3 months! DS just got over his second stomach bug in a month and now DH has it. Ugh. Keep your fingers crossed I dodge it, my son's birthday party is tomorrow and I'll just be crushed if I wind up sick and can't go or something :(
Have a good weekend ladies!

Where have you been?? Where have you been??
I somehow stopped getting notifications for our thread. I finally came looking and found everyone!
I've missed so much and I'm sorry for that. I guess I stopped getting notifications when we had Hurricane Ike hit and I was not online for about a month. 2 weeks of living at my parents and then 2 weeks of no cable/modem.
Sounds like everyone is doing well - need to go back and read through the thread though. I too just finished my GTT testing. I failed the first test - which I expected since I had GD in my first pregnancy. I was actually really annoyed that they were making me do the 3 hr. test since I wanted them to just say I have GD and get it over with. However, I passed my 3 hr. test!! I was absolutely shocked by it and really just passed by the skin of my teeth, but hey, I'll take it!
We're working on getting the baby's room ready. We moved out the guest bed this weekend to MIL's house and now need to work on getting the gigantic 1000 lb. safe out of there. Then we'll be ready to start rearranging and moving DD's crib out of her room and into the baby's room! I'm starting to get anxious about getting it done - by this point in DD's pregnancy we already had the nursery ready to go! Luckily, we already have most of the components and just need to move stuff around. :)

so all is going "well." I'm having really bad pelvic pain, anyone else having this? we have gotten the nursery furniture pretty much put together. the only thing left to do is the changing table. yay! and i think we have a name narrowed down. we're thinking about Kelcie Reagan, Kelcie Quinn, or Kelcie Sage. anyone else have names decided?

Yay! I am glad to see so many people checking in!
Update on me, first. :)
Did a little shopping this weekend and got some new bras and a few maternity items. I am a 38 E now, apparently, which just seems crazy. I keep thinking the girls can't get any bigger, but I know that's not true!
I think we've decided on bedding (heavenly choir of angels). I think we're going to go with a pale green toile, and use pink accents, pink walls, etc. Yay.
Also, I took the 3 hr GTT today and am anxiously awaiting the results. It was not that horrible, I guess. It was a gigantic time-suck, however. Fortunately, the world is pretty quiet for the holiday week, already.
armybrat Those are all really cute names. We've got our name picked out, but we're not telling anyone... I am not having pelvic pain, but one of my GFs (due late Feb) said hers is pretty bad, so I am sure it's common.
katmg Howdy, stranger! :) Congrats on passing the 3 hour GTT! I hope I am as lucky. We're quite a ways from having the nursery ready as well.
snoopy30 Yay on passing the 1 hour! That is good news. Sorry to hear about the sickness... It's obviously going around - my DH has been miserable for almost a week now. Ick.
Sevilla Yay on passing the GTT test! Such a relief.
ocgatita My weight gain is right around yours, and I, too am hoping to keep it on the low side. This is such a tough time of year for healthy eating, though! I just went to the Motherhood outlet around here and got a sort of ruffly red top to wear to our office holiday party. It's a step below cocktail, though. I am sure you could find something reasonable at Motherhood, or something really cute at Pea in the Pod!
Hope everyone is feeling well...

Hey ladies! Happy Turkey Week! :)
Things here have been good. Since I got home from Portland I have been really tired. Other than that I'm feeling good and getting bigger. ;)
I just had a bikini wax today and it was definitely more painful than I remember! But I'm glad to feel a little neater down there before we leave for Mexico! I'm really looking forward to the trip and my friend's wedding. Plus I can't wait to swim and relax!!!
Next doc's appt is tomorrow. That is my last monthly appt and then I start going every 2 weeks. I still can't believe we are getting so close!!! :D

PB - My band size went up during the pregnancy (I think I carried DD high) and then went down immediately PP. You may not grow as much as you think! :D
names - we have a list but don't have anything definite. Boy names are so much harder for us than girl names were.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! One of the highlights for me was finding out (on Wednesday) that I PASSED the three hour GTT! Woo hoo. I was able to enjoy my stuffing and pie (relatively) guilt-free. :)
Trying to get back into the swing of things at work. Ugh.
Hope everyone had a great and peaceful Thanksgiving! We had fun in NY, but the drive was a killer!!!!!! I had the worst pelvic/uterus (whatever you want to call it) pain when I got home last night.
So funny PB!!!! I am glad you were able to enjoy your food.:) Congrats on passing the GTT.
I read through here last week, but don't remember the details, so no SO. LOL
I have my 1-hr GTT on Wednesday, so I hope I pass. I did with the first pregnancy, so I am not too worried.
Names: I think we narrowed it down to our 3 choices for each, although I am still doubting the boy names a bit. Of course, with my luck we will have another boy:rolleyes:, so I need to make sure I am 100% sure about our names.
Shopping: I need to start shopping for essentials for this baby as we do not have that much time left. I am trying to find glass bottles this time around and it seems like it's not as simple as I thought. Good thing I will be nursing, so I only need a few. If any of the ROs have used them in the past, I welcome recommendations. Thanks!
Well, just a quick stop to say hi. Hope everyone is doing well!

Shopping - I need to check my list and see what else we will need. I bought a dresser last week from Target and it gets delivered sometime this week. Yay for free shipping and 15% off! I think everything else is being reused or repurposed. :) I've done just a little clothes shopping, but will probably do some more when it gets closer to the due date - definitely after the holidays!
My housekeeper today was asking me when I was going to get the baby's room ready. She said I could go early this time and should have it ready soon. Whoops! I guess I have really popped now b/c I got lots of comments today about the pgncy.

I've found glass bottles at every grocery store/baby store/big box store in my area. Do you have Babies R Us near you? Evenflo's glass bottles are the least expensive. Dr. Brown's also makes a glass bottle that is more $$ and I think there are one or two more manufacturers of them too. In terms of a nursing baby taking a bottle, I have heard that Playtex Nurser and Avent are the brands with nipples that seem to provide the easiest transition but since DS refused to take a bottle  I can't speak from my own personal experience. I know I got a Medela 5 oz and Playtex Nurser 8 oz for free via their websites a few months ago so it might be worth looking those freebies up.

Ooh, thanks for the reminder on bottles - I've got to get some new ones this time around. We used Dr. Brown's for the few bottles that DD received but I would like to find some BPA free ones this time.
Annoying Pregnancy Complaint - I have a winter head cold right now. I am figuring out that peeing-when-you-sneeze is one of the not so pleasant side effects. Hooray for pantyliners.
Katmg---- WTG with the great deal on the dresser! I only bought some L/S onesies and 2 sleepers/outfits. I know I need new bibs too among other things. Mainly, I need to go through what I have and re-wash the 0-3 clothes. But that can wait for after the holidays!:p

Thanks Sevilla! I actually picked up some Evenflo's at Buy Buy Baby yesterday and one Green to Grow BPA-free bottle (green and cute but $$$). Four is enough to start with since DC will probably not have a bottle for a while anyway. I was online last night and Evenflo has the comfort select nipples that are wider and apparently better for BFd babies, so I will try them and see. I also want to try the Evenflo bottle sleeve--- I think! lol
