I've set it up for 12 teams. I have also set it up for live draft with a date and time of Thursday Aug. 28 at 8pm EST. We can change that later if we want to.

Please look over the scoring rules and settings and see if you want to propose any changes to how it is set up.

Just upon looking at it briefly things I'd consider changing if others want to: having only 4 teams in the playoffs rather than 6, getting points for number of complete passes and/or receptions. Also I saw when I set it up that you can give bonus points if your QB, RB, WR reach certain milestones like give a bonus of 5 points if a QB throws over 400 yards or a RB rushes over 150 yards. I thought that sounded kind of interesting.

Tigger just signed up about 30 minutes ago so you should be able to. There are still 4 slots left.

You clicked on the link at the top of this post? When I click on it it takes me right in since I'm already signed up so I'm getting the message you are. If you just go into Yahoo and find your way to fantasy football can you key in the league id and password and get in that way?

I joined! Last year I forgot about all my teams in all my leagues with like 3 weeks left. I was sucking up anyway, so maybe I ended up helping myself by leaving my teams alone. LOL. I don't know ... but game is on this year! ;)

I don't "love" live draft, because I usually don't have the time for it. So, can someone fill me in on how that will work. I'm always commissioner of a league every year, and I've only ever auto-drafted.

Ally! Glad you joined girl. :) Boo on you - we need a live draft. Although I hear ya, I barely have time this year either. Two kids under 2 certainly takes its toll on time. I'll try and make it though. I think if there is a live draft and you can't participate, then the computer picks for you. Could be wrong though.

Okay. I was thinking that even if you can't attend, the computer probably goes by your pre-draft rankings and does it for you. Hopefully that's the case.

Yes, for live draft if you can't be there for it the computer will pick for you based on your pre-draft rankings.

I think we can change the date/time of the live draft if there is another day or time that works better for most us. I just had to pick something when I started the league. I chose that date because it was a week before the season starts so it gets us close so that we hopefully will know about injuries and yet still enough time to make trades after if anyone wants to before the season starts. I wouldn't want to do it any later than that day since I go away over Labor Day weekend.

I won't change anything unless we get at least half of the league to agree to the changes though.

Also could everyone post if the live draft date/time works for you. If it doesn't and you are fine with autodrafting then make sure you set up you pre-draft order by then. If it doesn't and you want to participate in the live draft propose alternate dates/times.

Generally 8 pm would be perfect for me, but DH won't be available to help me put the kids to bed that night so it might be later than 8 by the time I get everyone to sleep. Friday nights are always the best for me, since now that we have 2 kids we don't go out any more and DH isn't traveling for work. LOL

Go to the league page, then click on the "Draft Central" tab. Then, there will be a subset of tabs on that page. Click on "Pre-Draft Rankings". On the first little banner, it will say "Pre-Draft Player Rankings List". Right next to that, click on "edit my rankings". There you can choose the players that you want - in order of priority for you. And you can choose to exclude players that you don't want at all. Make sure to choose "save" at the bottom of the page when you are finished.

Then, when the draft begins, the system will use your custom-made list for the auto-draft.

Also just to add onto what Rippy said - When doing an autodraft I try to max out all of the spaces they allow you to use to rank players. I think it's around 170 players. Because if you've only ranked 50 players and all 50 of them are taken then it just goes back to Yahoo's rankings for your choices.

Also you can only modify your pre-draft rankings up until 45 minutes prior to the draft, so that would be until 7:15pm EST on Aug. 28.

I would think that you could but I'm not totally sure. I know for other drafts I've done online (and I think at least one of them was on Yahoo) you can sign in and log off throughout the draft. You could always try to log on (if you have time) at the beginning of the draft even if you can't be sitting at the computer, that way you would be logged in and I think at that point if it's your pick and your time runs out it just autopicks for you.

I wasn't able to get there by 8 and I didn't get to finish ranking my players! Oh well, that could work to my advantage since they are ranked by people who really know football. LOL I'm going to check my team now, assuming the draft is over. Hope you guys had fun at the draft!

Autodraft totally screwed me. It didn't take a defense until the very end and racked up all these WR and RB. Also autodraft did not draft a TE. how can that happen? I didn't even pre-rank...weird.

So, I'm not so much satisfied!!

I hear ya meatpie! I'm not happy with my team either, but oh well. I ranked some players, but didn't get a chance to rank everyone. Plus, it only showed 25 players ranked which is crazy because I ranked about 75. MY QB is ridiculous and I actually ranked a few. One I ranked looks like it went after the QB that the computer picked for me. Weird. I'm pretty happy with my RBs and WRs, but for the most part those are the ones I ranked, but not all. Computer gave me more than I needed as well. Luckily I like my TE, but that's about it. I did rank my TE though. I have know idea how you didn't get a TE. That is totally weird.

This is why I think it's so important to have a live draft that everyone can attend who wants to ... I just couldn't get there by 8 with 2 kids to get to bed and a DH that was out of town. It's definitely hard to gather up a bunch of people for a live draft. Next year I'm go to be there no matter what. This year, I'll just have to make some trades. It'll keep it interesting, right? LOL

That is weird about those of you that autodrafted. I was pretty sure the rules state that the computer will fill all of your positions first and then your bench spots so to not have a TE at all is odd. I will look into it and see if I can find anything out.

Here's the rules per yahoo:
When you're unable to draft for yourself, our computer system will make intelligent choices for you. This will happen if you signed up for an Autopick League or aren't present for all or part of your Live Draft.

The autopick system first selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can fill one of the open starting positions on your roster.

After all of your starting positions are filled, the system determines a list of bench positions based on the number of starters at a position vs. the overall roster size. The system then selects the highest-rated available player (based first on your pre-rankings and then our default rankings) that can play one of the bench positions.

Given this system, it's important to remember that all starting positions are filled before any bench players are chosen. Additionally, keep in mind that the system will determine a maximum number of players to draft per position (starters plus bench) so that no roster ends up with an inordinate number of players at any single position (e.g., five quarterbacks in a league that has a single starting quarterback).

Regardless of your league type, it's a good idea for all managers to pre-rank players in case they miss any part of the draft. To do this, just go to your team page and select Edit Pre-Rankings.

So you definitely should have gotten a TE and your DEF should have drafted long before the last pick.

Did you log in to the draft at all while the draft was going on? That is the only thing I can think of. I know that if you are logged in it doesn't autodraft per these rules but it will just pick the highest player you have ranked if you don't pick before your time runs out. That happened to me in another league I'm in. I didn't realize it was my turn as I was multitasking. I didn't get a kicker in that league.

For the future - CBS Fantasy is much better than Yahoo. I can't believe you have to PAY for live scoring on Yahoo! Crazy.

We've always done Yahoo and that has always bugged me too. I also play in a league through ESPN and get live scoring there so I usually toggle back and forth to figure out live updates in my Yahoo league(s). I've never used CBS's before but it's good to know of another option.

You can drop your current QB, and pick one up a new one off of the Free Agents (but clicking "add players" on your "my team" page). Or, you can propose a trade with someone if you have a decent defense, RB, or WR. (But, you'd still need to drop your current QB).

This week hurt for me. I know I'm going to get losses but to score 100 points and lose. That's just wrong. Good game last night for Braylon Edwards to push Knockouts in for the win. To top it off my DH is a Giants fan so he wasn't very happy either.

i missed the draft and forgot to do my set up thingy so all "my" players were scooped by someone else. I would have traded to get some but I didn't have anyone worthy so I just sucked up and am taking my losses each week! lol

You don't have to propose trades, necessarily. A lot of times you can pick up ok players off of the F.A. list because there will be a rookie on there that's been playing really well, but no one heard of him so didn't think to pick him up. That happened with my Ronnie Brown pick up. You might just want to take a gander through the FA list, if you have time or desire.
