Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistress for this thread is
missy329.
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread every three months. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistresses would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if we get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn't matter if you have never charted before or if you've been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test! (Also, note that if you join us during your 2ww and you get a BFP that cycle, you will not be listed as a graduate.)
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don't have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

How to link a chart from Fertility Friend:
Go to My Chart. In the Menu bar on the left hand side go down to Sharing, then Home Page Setup. The link will appear in a text box under the heading "Your Charting Home Page Web Address." Highlight the link and copy it to your signature or a post.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hopefully you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
*Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

Guess I will do an update as long as I am in here starting a new thread. Today, I am on CD3 :( I am starting Femara today. I will take it CD3-7 and then we will do an IUI once I get a +OPK. I am really hoping this works! So, I am just waiting until CD9 to start my OPKs. The waiting is so hard (as you all already know!).
amurphy- Welcome. I hope you are not with us long.
JillyBean- Hi! Hope this cycle is it for you and you don't have to re-join us.
ABirney- I hope your husband got home early enough last night. Glad his SA didn't look any worse this time.
Blondie- My RE does progesterone testing at 6DPO (I think- it's hard to remember when all the different testing is done). It wouldn't hurt to call on Monday. Also, you can buy progesterone cream at a health food store/vitamin store type place. There is some controversy about how much it actually helps but it certainly doesn't hurt to use it!
triciarose- Great looking chart andvery promising symptoms. I hope this is it for you!

Well ladies, good luck to all of you and have a safe 4th of July :) I wont be around (or temping) for about a week bc we are going to NC on vacation. Hopefully I will get AF and put this super long cycle to rest! See you ladies in a week! I am hoping to come back to some BFP's from all of you. hehe

Thanks for the new thread Missy!
My temp went up this morning so I think I O'd yesterday. DH and I were too tired to BD last night, so I'm hoping our timing was ok since we BD'd the night before O. I'm hoping that was enough. If I don't get pg this month I need to be more patient waiting for O. We were BDing most nights for the past 2 weeks (which is way more than normal for us). We were wiped out by the time O came around!
Happy 4th of July everyone!

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!
triciarose: Not to get your hopes up, but your chart looks good. I spotted on 10DPO and got a BFP on 12DPO with my son. Good luck!

Has anyone used Answer OPK along with charting? I cant start charting yet of course until CD 1 but I got them to help give me an idea this month.
Hopefully they are good~
Congrats to the ladies who just got their BFP's!
Blondie
07-04-2008, 05:28 PM
Oh wow, a new thread! Thanks for setting that up, TM! It's nice to be starting at the beginning.
missy Thank you for the info. I was wondering about the cream and I think I'm going to get some. Is it too late to start using it at 6 DPO? I'm still calling the doc on Monday too, but I feel I need to be *doing* something if that makes sense! Good luck with the Femara and the IUI! I hope you get a + OPK very soon.
bensgirl Have a GREAT vacation! :)
MMH Happy 4th to you too!
Abirney LOL! Hope you *slept* in. ;)
diam HOORAY for O! It seems like you should be well covered in the BD department. I wouldn't worry, but good luck!
tricia Things are looking really good for you! Fingers crossed :)
So I looked up progesterone cream at GNC online and it said that none of the products they have are available in California. Why would that be? I am going to try Walgreens. I hope they have it. I don't have time to order it online this time.
mmisabel
07-04-2008, 05:48 PM
missy - good luck with the IUI!
bensgirl - I hope there is an end at sight to that long cycle.
blondie - not sure about the progesterone cream, kind of wierd. I think midwives are great! My practice is about 70% midwives and they encourage the "non-complex" preggos to use them. I also love my OB so it's a tough choice. Good luck talking to them on Monday!
Jilly - Hoping you don't have to "join"!
MMH -watery CM is good. It's the most fertile, EWCM is before you ovulate.
ND - Dying for you to update that chart!!
ABirney - I hope it works for you guys without the IUI. Stranger things HAVE happened!
Tricia - I hope this is IT for you!
Me - Hopefully I get 2 more elevated temps to confirm O. DH and I are SO tired of DTD!! Geez, it's a lot of work!
Blondie
07-05-2008, 06:41 AM
mmisabel I don't have a group that has midwives in it. I have to go find one and more than likely I will pay out of pocket, but I don't care. I can't stand the group (and I'm sure there are nice doctors in it, but it's the *feel* of it IYKWIM) that my insurance sends us to. Hopefully I will be considered low risk. I will be 35 on Wednesday but I'm in very good health except today.
So I am 7 DPO today! Woohoo. I feel so sick though. I feel like I'm coming down with something. I kept waking up in the middle of the night and felt like I'd been drugged and I still do. I'm so lethargic and icky feeling. My throat is a bit sore and the post nasal drip is really annoying. Perfect timing! :rolleyes:I have to go to work right now for 12 hours and I just don't want to! I'm so tired and now I have to go deal with more sick people at work. :( Okay, forcing myself to go now...Have a great day!
NotDesperate
07-05-2008, 08:01 AM
Mmisabel, my chart is updated now! It always looks *great* though until the very last minute (12dpo-13dpo) when it comes crashing down so I don't even let it get my hopes up anymore!
Tricia, good luck! If your pains are like mine, they are weird. I know Mindy had them too. They are kinda hard to describe though so maybe what she had was different than mine. I tend to let normal aches and pains totally fool me into thinking I am PG when I am in the 2ww, lol.
Diam, you must be tired after all that BDing! That is how my DH and I were until we got the monitor.
Blondie, sorry you don't feel well but I will be keeping my fingers crossed that it is PG related!!
BensGirl, have a great vacation!!!
A-Birney, good luck! I really hope it happens on your own!
Missy, Good luck this cycle! I hope it works too!
Me- Last night I was up twice with an upset stomach- which never happens. I felt quesy and a little hungry at the same time, it was weird. I was hoping it was PG related anyway! ;)
MMHinCA
07-05-2008, 08:21 AM
I got dotted cross hairs today (my temps are not matching my OPKs and monitor). It shows me Oing on Wednesday, but I think it was actually Thursday. Anyways, either way please move me to "waiting to test - 7/17"!
NotDesperate
07-05-2008, 09:06 AM
ETA from my last post: Well, I guess I jinxed myself because as soon as I walked away, I went to the bathroom and had some brown spotting. Not much, but still I think I am out. I have never spotted as early as 11dpo. Sometimes at 12dpo I will spot but never any earlier. I guess it could be implantation spotting but I am not getting my hopes up, especially since I heard the later you impant- the higher the risk for M/C. :( Darn it! I *really* wanted to be due on my Pop Pop's bday!!
diam124
07-05-2008, 02:14 PM
TM - could you also move me to waiting to test 7/17?
ND - I wouldn't count you out yet (easier said than done I know). Most things that I've read about implantation bleeding say it usually arrives "around the time when you're expecting your period", so it could still be implantation. Especially if it's brownish - I don't know if this is true, but I always think of brown spotting as "old blood" that might have taken a day or so to be expelled.
mmisabel
07-05-2008, 05:34 PM
Blondie - So sorry you are sick. That really sucks you have to pay out of pocket for an OB. That is just terrible!! Hey, are you a nurse?? I am and your schedule sounds familiar to me.;)
ND - I know about your charts, I always felt so sorry for you (I still lurked after my m/c). I hope the spotting is implantation. Keep us posted!
MMH and Diam - Yeah for waiting to test!!! As long as my temp stays up tomorrow morning I will be joining you. I think FF gave me a test date of the 16th (I entered the info to see what would happen!)
Me - Just waiting for one more elevated temp, then the waiting begins.....
triciarose99
07-05-2008, 06:22 PM
Blondie - Hope you feel better. Only a few days left before you test! Good Luck!
ND - I wouldn't give up hope too soon your chart is looking awesome and your temps are still up which is good. I have heard the same about spotting and people thinking that AF would show and it actually being implantation spotting. Hopefully all of these signs are PG signs!
MMH - Yay for the crosshairs - it is always so exciting to see them appear!
Diam & mmisabel - Good luck!
Me - I'm starting to doubt the possibility of being PG:-( Although my temps are still higher than coverline, they went down the past two days. The lower temps these past two days aren't the norm for my cycles, but temps falling can never be a good sign. Per my past cycles if my temp goes down again tomorrow morning then I'm pretty sure AF will be arriving on the 8th. Oh well, I've always got the next cycle...
Blondie
07-05-2008, 08:10 PM
Tricia Don't say that, it could be from other factors and your temps are not that low. FX'd for you getting a higher tomorrow!
mmisabel I have insurance it's just that if I want a midwife I don't think my insurance covers it. I'm going to check into all that IF/WHEN I ever get a BFP. I know that some insurances will reimburse later, but I don't know about mine yet. And no, not a nurse. I'm an xray tech! :)
Katie It's not over yet! Your chart does look really great! Good luck:)
MMH Yay for O! :D
Ugh, I had such a long day and I'm so happy to be home. I think I'm going straight to bed so I can get up and do it again. I felt a little better as the day wore on, but SO TIRED! I am not reading anything into it though, because I find that my imaginary pg symptoms are the same as my unimaginary PMS symptoms! Plus I've been working A LOT and have reason to feel run down and tired I suppose. I'm so excited to be going on vacation soon! A week on the beach is exactly what I need. I have a lot of weird pains though like O pains. Isn't it strange how you can go your entire life and not notice these types of things and when you start charting suddenly your body just "speaks" to you.
NotDesperate
07-06-2008, 07:05 AM
Blondie, I know!! I never paid attention to my body at all until we started TTC now I notice every little thing (especially in the 2ww!). I hope the tiredness is a PG symptom! Where are you going on vacation? DH and I are spending a week on the Gulf of Mexico during the first week in August and I can't wait! We go every year and love it!
Thanks everyone for the words of encouragement. Diam, that is a good point about brown spotting. I guess I just thought that if you had implantation spotting then you must have just implanted but it makes sense that it would take a bit to actually come out.
Yesterday was kinda hard because I was feeling bad about the spotting and then had to go shopping at Babies R Us for my friend's shower gift. This was the girl that we started TTC at the same time and she got PG right away. Oh wells, such is life!
I don't want to jinx myself further but the good news is that I only spotted a tiny bit and haven't since. I thought it was more than what implantation spotting is though. But like I said before, I never spot that early plus usually when I do start to spot, thats it... I keep spotting for a day or two and then get AF. It never just goes away. Also, once I spot, the next day my temp crashes and it is still up. The bad news is that I now kinda have my hopes back up, lol.
I am so glad I have you girls though to vent all my crazy thoughts too and even if I do get AF no one would say "I told you so, dummie!" LOL :)
ETA: I think I have some very light spotting again... Boy this rollercoaster sucks! :p
Tricia, sorry about the temp dips. I hope they go back up!
triciarose99
07-06-2008, 12:00 PM
Blondie - Your chart is still lookin great. Hopefully the symptoms are PG symptoms and not PMS
ND - Your chart is looking wonderful - your temps are still up and pretty steady so I would keep your hopes up.
Me - well, my thoughts were correct... I'm out for this time. This is the shortest LP I've ever had (12 days) normally they are 14 days... Anyway AF has shown her ugly face today horrible cramps and all. TM - please move me to waiting to O.

blondie Sorry you aren't feeling well. Hope it's a pg symptom!

Tricia - sorry about AF. :(
Question for everyone - I had positive OPKs on Wednesday and Thursday and my temp has clearly been up (and I feel confident in the temps because I slept soundly). BUT, I have EWCM today. WTF? Has anyone else gotten it after you clearly O'd? It's not a lot but noticeable on the TP. Friday and Saturday I just had creamy CM.

Diam, yes I have gotten "fertile" CM after I O'ed.
Me: Well I started spotting more and now it is red. Do I count this as CD1 or what? I hope not b/c that would mean I had a 11 day LP and usually mine is always 13-14! Maybe I will wait and see what happens tomorrow.
TM, can you move me to Waiting to O?

Katie I'm so sorry! :( I'm going to San Diego next week. I used to spend every summer on the Gulf though with my aunt and uncle on Grand Isle. And then many trips to Destin and Panama City Beach, FL. Have a great time.
Tricia I'm sorry AF found you too. :( Thanks for the input on my chart.
diam I've heard a lot of people say that they've gotten EW in the 2WW, and lots of them were pg! So I hope that is a positive sign for you!
ABirney Hooray for O! :D Welcome to the 2WW aka Hell! ha
So how weird is it that yesterday I thought I was getting sick and today I feel perfectly fine? I'm still tired from working but nothing like the tired I felt yesterday. Today, though I'm having pain in my ribs. Sometimes they feel sore and sometimes it is sharp pains behind my breasts. Every day is something new. How weird. Oh, so I did get some progesterone cream yesterday and started using it last night. I had to go to the Vitamin Shoppe on my lunch hour. But when I was online looking they had many different brands but in person they only had one.It says it's 400 something mg, but some of the ones online were way more like 2 or 3000. Is 400 mg enough? It says to use it twice a day. Maybe it has actually worked and lessened some of my PMS symptoms? I guess I will find out soon.
I hope you all had a good weekend! :)

ND - I'm hoping your bleeding has stopped and you are still in the running!
MMHinCA - that is a huge dip! Hopefully it is implantation-related - I can't think of what else it could be that early in the LP.
Blondie - I'm curious to see if you notice any difference with the progesterone cream. I was thinking of trying it myself if this cycle is unsuccessful.

triciarose -sorry this wasn't it for you.:(
ND - I know once it's a red flow it is considered CD1. Did it pick up today?
Abirney - Yeah for probably Oing!
Blondie - I have no clue about the progesterone. Hoping those are some pg symptoms for you!
MMH - I hope it was an implantation dip!
Diam - we are testing buddies along with MMH and Blondie. I had a little EWCM yesterday too. I didn't put it in my chart cause it changed it to a dotted line!! I think it's fine.
So, I think I O'd testing 7/16 (if I can hold out that long!!)
Dunja- I was away all last week so I know I am really late getting the news, but I just wanted to let you know you are in my prayers. I am so sorry. :(
tricia rose- sorry about AF.
ND- I hope it's not AF!
Diam- I have had EW CM in the 2ww, usually a few days before AF. But, I have also heard that it can be a pg symptom, just not for me.
Good Luck to Abirney, MMH, Diam and everyone else in the 2WW.
Me- I am getting worried that I missed my O, timing wise. We were on vacation all last week and I didn't temp. Now I am feeling like I might have O'd yesterday (Sun. CD13) but that's a early for me and I just wasn't expecting it. We did not BD since Fri! ARGHHHH. I will make sure to BD tonight and temp tomorrow. Hopefully we didn't miss it. I feel like a TTC slacker!

ND - I know once it's a red flow it is considered CD1. Did it pick up today?
No actually it didn't! I had such a small amount of brown spotting on Saturday. Then on Sunday I had even less, but all of a sudden I had one (quarter size?) amount of red blood and thought for sure the flood gates were opened but that was it. Now all day I have had a tiny bit of brown spotting. No cramps either. It is strange but my temp dipped today so I guess it is just one of those things. If I don't have full AF tomorrow maybe I will test. So I guess I will hold off on putting yesterday as CD1 for now.
Good luck in your 2ww!
Gia, I hope you catch the egg!

But my mom did have what she thought was AF when she 1st got PG with my sis. She said it was really light for only a few days and she thought she could be PG but her doc said no way. It took her a few weeks of feeling "off" to go buy a test and it was a BFP! I wish that could be me too, but my temps did dip so I am 99% sure AF is just taking her time.

So I am doubting my dip was an implantation dip. The girls over on the FF boards pointed out (what I had already thought) that I probably O'd on CD13 instead of CD12 as FF puts me so an implantation dip at 4DPO wouldn't probably happen. Time will tell!
diam124
07-07-2008, 06:51 PM
Eh, I don't know MMH - I read that implantation usually happens around 7DPO give or take a few days, so it is possible to implant as early as 4DPO I think.
ND - glad to hear you're still in!
Blondie
07-07-2008, 07:06 PM
diam I will definitely let you know! My problem is that I don't know if I have low prog but I am not taking any chances. I don't even know if it is the right kind hence my earlier post about how much lower the mg was in this particular tube. But no harm in trying, right?
gia Good luck, I hope you didn't miss it!
Katie You're not out! Maybe the spotting/bleeding is hereditary. :) I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for you!
MMH Hmm...Did FF change your O date then? Because I chart stalked you and it does say 4 DPO now. Is that really impossible to get an implantation dip that early?
mmisabel Hooray for O! Happy 2WW! (if that is possible-haha)
So what are y'alls thoughts on the temperature correction feature on FF? I woke up this morning at 3:30 and could not go back to sleep for anything. I had gone ahead and temped JIC and it was a low-ish temp that upset me and totally hurt my feelings. ;) So I tried the temp adjustment as I should've temped at 5:30 and it was a HUGE difference. Too much of one I thought. I mean it was a lot higher than any of my other temps have been. So I don't really trust it, but I also don't know if I trust the first one either. I went ahead and logged in the original though so as not to lie to myself! What do you think? Does 2 hours make a difference?
diam124
07-07-2008, 07:26 PM
I never realized that FF has a temperature adjustment feature - I'll have to check it out. In FF I enter my temps as I see them (I think the earliest I've temped is 4:30am and the latest is 7am, usually I temp at 6. I did start an Ovusoft chart where I enter my temps adjusted. I read somewhere that a good rule is to go up .05 per half hour, so .1 per hour, but not everyone has the same temperature changes. When I adjust them in Ovusoft my temps are much more consistent. For ex., yesterday I tempted at 6 and it was 98.2. Today I temped at 5:30 and it was 98.14, so I think the .05 rule is fairly accurate for me.
Blondie
07-07-2008, 07:39 PM
Hmm, that makes sense. Okay, so mine was 97.87 at 3:30 am and FF's temp adjustment for 5:30 am was 98.27. See how high that is? By your temp adjustment formula it would've been 98.07 which is completely consistent with my other temps over the past few days. Wow, okay so I wonder if I should adjust it that way and WTF is FF basing their temp adjustments on? I really really like 98.07 as my temp. Can I keep it and not be deluding myself or is that really accurate? :)
Another interesting thing is I checked my current chart with my last chart and had a temp drop at 9 DPO because I had temped at EXACTLY 3:30 am and the temp was almost the same as todays. Freaky...
ETA-Diam, if you want to check out FF's go to your chart page and on the left side menu go to "data" and it's the last selection of the drop down menu.

Gia - hope you catch that eggie!!
ND - Keeping my fingers crossed for you to get a nice temp increase in the morning!
MMH - That is bizarre. If it's not implantation, what is it?? It'll be interesting to see what your temp is tomorrow.
Blondie - I think it depends on a lot of factors as to how much to raise the temp. I guess it's a good rule of thumb. Don't give up yet!! Hopefully it'll be up in the morning.

When I change my settings my O date changes:
Advanced method (recommended method) = CD12 (dotted cross hairs... my temps don't match OPK and Peak day)
Fertility Awareness method = CD13 (which is the day I feel like I Od)
Research method = CD12
OPK/Monitor method = CD14
For now I am going to leave it at fertility awareness method since that is the day I feel like I O'd.

mmisabel I know you are right, so I didn't make any changes. I figured that I would just leave the original information in there and I'm either pg or not anyway, right? That one temp isn't going to change anything.
MMH I would stick with FAM. I find that to be more accurate anyway. Sometimes FF is just wrong. They were wrong on mine last cycle I am positive.
Katie Sorry:( But your'e still not out!
So my temp did go way up today! I'm hoping it stays there and then my chart could *possibly* look triphasic! I'm still testing tomorrow for my birthday, but I don't expect a BFP, it's just fun to POAS for your birthday I guess. LOL :p Has anyone ever experienced a "cotton mouth" feeling? Chart: FF Chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1f54df)
Current status: AF? Im not sure what to put here!
This is my first period since my m/c last month and everything has been a little wacky. I THINK Im on cycle day one, as I had a little bit of light bleeding, but it wasnt really red so I dont know. I might have to change my chart based on what happens today.
I am looking forward to charting again and TTC. We made the decision to go ahead and try again once I had one normal period. I was one of the lucky ones to get pregnant first try last time, so Im hopeful that happens again. If not, I will take that as a sign that it might have meant another m/c.
Once I got off BC (Nuvaring) and charted I found that I had short LP's- under 10 days every time- and spotting every cycle. Im not sure if that is related to my M/C or not, as it was ectopic. However, this past cycle my LP was 14 days! So Im hopeful my body is regulating? Who knows!?

mmisabel - hard to remember, as we were quite busy traveling back and forth to NY around that time. I would say that it was either C or EWCM around that time. But I tend to have a few days of EWCM before I O.
Also, is there a way to choose to let people see when we have BD'd? A friend told me it doesn't show for her, and that is pretty important info for someone looking at my chart! lol

numhah - It's tough to tell since you don't have temps on CD 15 and 16. I'd say based on what you have for temps and your CM you probably O'd between CD17-CD19, which is good since it looks like you covered you bases on those days. Good luck!!!

Congrats Blondie, I knew it! ;)
Ambula, welcome!
Me: Ah well, sucks to be out but at least there is no chance of having a baby on MIL's bday now, lol. I am worried about my spotting starting so early but I had bloodwork drawn on CD24 to check progesterone so thats good. Tomorrow I am getting my CD3 bloodwork. I started to see an RE just to get checked out, as we are now heading into our 10th month, most of those with perfect timing. I know it is premature by a couple months but at this point, I don't care- its just a few tests and they are paid for 100% anyway so what the hay. Next week I am getting an exam, a sono (I don't know what that is for exactly) and an HSG, which I am nervous about. DH already did an SA and he hated it! He could do it at home, but still he struggled with crossing the finish line- even with me helping, lol! He just did not like that cup. I hope for his sake that we do not need anything like an IUI or IVF because he would not like filling that cup up again! BTW, we do not get the results of anything until all tests are done, so I will keep you informed when I find out myself :)

Thanks everyone! You guys are so sweet and it's so nice to have this support here. So I called the doctor and they ordered a blood test that I have to get first thing in the morning at one of the labs. But I asked her if I could have my progesterone checked and she said no, that they will do nothing until they have the blood test confirmation. I'm not even sure that I have a prog issue, but I am nervous. So I guess I'll keep using my prog cream and watching my temps until I get the results. I'm so bummed because I want everything done right away! I'll be away on vacation next week and I can't go to the doctor or anything. :( I'm so nervous.
Katie Good luck with all the testing. I think if I were you I would go ahead and start that basic testing too. Why not? I'm sorry this journey has been such a long one for you.

I think you're right to start all the testing ND. DH and I were talking about it this weekend. We're both 31 and this is our first so we're kind of anxious. This is only our 4th month, but I think after 6 months I'll look into testing. Given that we know we are timing things correctly I think it's kind of a waste to wait 12 months. We're not getting any younger! How annoying that they won't tell you the results of the SA - I would want to know ASAP given that if there is an issue you can try to start correcting it.
Blondie - I forgot you were using the progesterone cream - I don't blame you for continuing to take it just in case.

Diam, they will give us the results if we call and ask but otherwise they just want to tell us until the next consultation. I don't really care except for the results of the SA because if that is low, why move forward with tests on me? But I guess I could have something wrong too. I hope you don't have to go to the RE and get PG soon on your own!

Good morning! Okay, so I had another high temp and + HPT, so I'm starting to feel slightly better. I'm on my way to get my blood drawn now, so FX'd that I get good numbers. Does anyone know what "good numbers" are? I have no idea what it's supposed to be. But the nurse that ordered it said she put it in where I can call and get my own results, so I don't have to wait for them to call and tell me. I'm so grateful for that, and I just hope it can be done today. I'm a nervous wreck.
ABirne Thank you! and good luck to you!
Katie I would be upset not having those results. they should have told you by now. Good luck and i hope the SA is normal.
mmisabel I know, I just want to check it and they said NO! I have to wait on the first blood test to show positive and then they can order other tests. I don't get that but what can I do? I still had another high temp today so I'm feeling good about that, and I am still using the prog cream so maybe that is actually working!

mmisabel Don't give up, your chart looks great!
ND Our first SA we just waited for the results until our consult (they had DH go in about 2 weeks before our initial consult) and then he went over all the test results and plan of action at the appt.
Blondie Hoping for good numbers today! When I was pg in December, the RE said anything over 50 at 14DPO was good. The main thing that's more important than the actual number is if it doubles in 48 hours or not. There are several charts online for comparison, but it's usually quite a range of what's normal. Check out www.betabase.info for a chart.

CD7, no symptoms, blah!!
You and me both! Our charts are very similar - I'm just hovering around 98.2. I was hoping it would go up this morning! I actually felt worse earlier in the week.
Blondie - Good luck with the blood draw. I wish I had some words of wisdom, but I know I would be a wreck too.

Blondie - Yeah for a +HPT. As for betas, I think they can totally vary. Check out this thread to get an idea Beta thread (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showthread.php?t=5238). Oh, and be careful about temping a lot. Once you get that BFP they can start to drop and then people panic. I'd put the thermometer away soon!!:)
ABirney - Thanks! I'm not giving up yet. Just bored out of my trees waiting!!:)
Diam and MMH - I'm not sure if we'll survive this wait!! I just looked back at my posts around my last BFP and I didnt' have symptoms until 10DPO so there is hope. I really hope the next few days go by more quickly for us!!!:D
Hi ladies!
I am lonely over in the March thread.... :( I miss you all. Congrats BLONDIE.

Congrats, Blondie and Ryan! :D
NotDesperate Good luck with the test results.
MMHinCA I'm like you, yesterday was either 5 or 6 DPO for me, too, and I hate waiting! And, like you, I usually start spotting 10DPO, so it's not as bad for me as some others, but still!
nuhmah I'd put your O at CD 17 just based on your temps with a CL of 97.4, although it's hard to tell because of lack of info on your CM. For some reason, I thought TCOYF said +.3 degrees F... I'll have to check.
Welcome, ambula704. Sorry about the m/c. :(
bensgirl1222 Hope you're enjoying your vacation!
Astara Hope you don't have to join. ;)
missy329 Good luck with the IUI.

Sorry if I missed anyone.
I'm pretty sure I'm 6 or 7 DPO today (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1002c9). I have had very little CM this month in general, and my temps haven't really been stable at all... planning to test 7/13 or 7/14.

Nuhmuh: I hope you had fun in New York! Did you go to Krauses Candy?
No, we didn't!! I was upstate visiting my parents - since we moved from the area, I haven't been back. But just to go to Krause's may be worth it. ;)
- - -
Thanks for all the feedback on my chart! I wish I had more info - things were really hectic that week and it was all I could do to get a temp in the morning. DS has been waking every 90 minutes at night, so that really puts a damper on things.

Okay, I am so upset and I need to vent, so please forgive me for what is probably going to be a long post.
So I went and got my blood drawn and I called them this afternoon to check the results. So the lab tech told me that my test was positive (so that is good), and then I asked him if he could give me the numbers. He said that he didn't have that, the doctor has to order that test separately. So what did I have? Well, it wasn't a quant hcg, it was just a positive or negative blood test. So I called the doc's office and the woman told me that they didn't do quants. I told her I thought that I needed to get the numbers and then get another test a couple days later to make sure my numbers doubled. She said no, that they just do a pos/neg blood test and then I have to go to a CLASS! I am like  She said I have to go to a class where I fill out all of my information for my chart and then they schedule my first OB appt. THEN there will be certain labs ordered but not those ones! WTF? So I said well how soon can I get an appt. She said I HAVE TO do this class first and I can come next Wed at 1:30 or 3:30 or Thurs at 3:30!! I tell her I have a JOB and I can't just go to some class in the middle of the day just to fill out some damn paperwork. Is this normal? This cannot be normal right? I am so upset right now, because all I know is I'm pregnant and that is IT! And apparently there is nothing I can do about it! And it's all the doctors in this group not just mine. Those are the "rules"! And I was already planning to drop this doctor and go to a midwife anyway, but I wanted to confirm this pregnancy and make sure it was going to stick before I bothered to start interviewing. Now I guess I'm just going to start calling them. This is ridiculous! And that is the only group that my insurance covers. There are a bunch of doctors in it, and it's all the same no matter which one I call. Should I just say I'm having some spotting or something so they will see me and order tests? and I told this woman numerous times that I have already had TWO m/c's so I really am anxious to know that everything is okay. she did not care!
What should I do?
diam124
07-10-2008, 07:26 PM
Blondie, WTF? Why do you need to go to a class to fill out forms?! That is bizarre and I would be out of there ASAP. Did you call them or see them when you had the miscarriages? Does your insurance cover any midwives? I wish I had some advice for you. I've never been pregnant so I'm not sure how my doctor's office works when it comes to pregnancy, but those policies do not sound right.
Welcome to the 7DPO club Reenie! :)

Blondie - That is so frustrating! I do know that a lot of OB's shy away from quant HCG's now. I think it has to do with the fact that it can cause a lot of increased anxiety and the numbers don't always mean much. For example, people who are actively miscarrying can have extraordinarily high numbers because HCG is still being released and their body still "thinks" they are pg. I know a lot of RE's still do HCG's. BUT, in your case, I think they should be more flexible to your wants and needs. Good luck finding a new practice!!
MMH - I have heard the dry eyes thing from other preggos. Promising symptom!
Reenie - welcome to the 8DPO group!! (me, MMH and Diam)

Welcome Kimmer!
Question - this morning I took my temp and it beeped very quickly (I hadn't had it in my mouth very long. Usually it takes long enough that I doze off a little) so I took the thermometer out and it said 98.08. Immediately I turned it off and on and put it back in. This time it was in for a normal amount of time when it beeped and it was 98.29. I was tempted to try it a third time to see what came up but DH was still sleeping and I thought he might freak out if it beeped again. Which temp would you use? I used 98.29 because I liked it better ;), but I'm not that confident that it is correct.

diam Yes, I did call them for the first m/c but not the 2nd because I knew what was happening and he was an ass the first time I went in. I didn't want to go back! I need to call my insurance regarding the Midwife coverage, but I don't honestly care if they cover it. I am willing to pay out of pocket for that. I do not want to stay with that OB group. It took me 30 mins just to get through on the phones to them. Who has time for this? I have a JOB. As for you temp, I would probably keep the 2nd one, because it sounds like something happened the first time.
ABirney Yes it's very stupid and crazy! Good luck to you. I hope everyone in the 2WW gets their BFP's too!
Kimmer Welcome and good luck!! :)
mmisabel I started to read up on some other threads over at FF and it seems that you are correct. I get that I guess, but I begged them because of my past m/c's and she was like NO you can come to the "orientation class" next week. He did do quant's when I had my first m/c though. And my numbers were low the first time and it was definitely lower the 2nd time so I knew what was happening. The other thing is I can't even get off work to go to their stupid orientation class PERIOD! Not if they're all in the middle of the day like that. Anyway, do you think that you may have had an implantation dip today? I hope that explains your temp drop!
Well, I don't know if I should consider myself officially graduated or not. Technically, I suppose I am but I'm still so nervous that I keep coming here. ;) I do intend to check in with you guys though. Thanks for all your advice and support! :)

8DPO girls... when do you plan on testing?
Welcome Kimmer!
diam124
07-11-2008, 07:38 AM
I'm planning on testing tomorrow, but I'm not really expecting a BFP. I have 5 HPTs stock-piled at home, so I figure I'll take 1 each morning until AF (or BFP). I'm very impatient when it comes to testing though. :)
Reenie
07-11-2008, 09:12 AM
Blondie I just had a chem pg in April; I already had an appointment for COP and then I was spotting. I kept getting positive HPTs, though, and the spotting was just intermittent and not much. So on the day of my appointment, I took another HPT and of course, it was negative. So then I didn't know what to do because I didn't have AF and I did have an appointment with the doctor. I called the office right away and the woman I spoke with was SUCH a b1tch to me (sorry for the language); I was looking for some sort of guidance, I had never been pregnant before, and she was like, "Lady, I don't know what you should do, I've got other calls to answer." I was furious! Anyway, my round-a-bout points are two here: 1) sometimes, the people in the doctor's office are so used to these types of things that they consider them ho-hum even though they really are life-changing events, and 2) the person you were talking to might not actually have much education about these topics and may not even know what you're talking about. I don't understand what you would need a class for at this point; the hospitals around here only do classes with ladies who are in their third trimesters....
Welcome, Kimmer!
ABirney Wow, you're right, I hadn't realized so many people were in the 2ww.
mmisabel How weird is it that we're all on the same DPO?! My temp went down a bit this morning, too, but still above coverline, just like you.
diam I have no advice, but I totally understand taking the higher temp. ;)
MMHinCA I try to be patient with testing, but it's really hard because my LP is almost always exactly 10 days. It's kinda exciting to test, you know? And I don't want to miss that! But that being said, I know that even a 10 DPO BFP is pretty early. We have a pack of Fact Plus here, and I have not been as test-happy as I was back when I'd get the Dollar Tree tests (which, BTW, when I had the chem pg, I got positives on 3 POAS regular and one digital, but not on that thing, and with the info I've seen here about them lately, even though they're only a dollar, I figure they're not even worth that if they're not doing their job). I am going to hold out until Monday, which I think will be 11 DPO for me. How about you?
mmisabel
07-11-2008, 10:19 AM
Blondie - I think the "orientation class" is totally bizarre. Sounds like you need to move on. As far as the quant HCG goes I agree it's definitely important in seeing an early m/c, but it will happen regardless. KWIM? BUT, if I were you I'd be pushing the progesterone because I know that is also a concern of yours. As someone who had a m/c I totally understand being more on edge. For me, when/if I get pg again I will want an u/s around 6-7 weeks to show things are progressing the right way. But everyone's different as to what will give them peace of mind and until it happens to me I can't say for sure I won't be singing a different tune!! Onto me, I was wondering implantation dip, but my temps are not that much lower so I'm not sure what "qualifies". I never had one before - I changed my FF home page to have my other 2 pregnancy charts so feel free to analyze!! As for graduating, I know a lot of people wait till they see/hear the HB until they make it "official" - but whatever you are comfortable with. I like having you over here!!!:)
MMH - I was thinking Sunday at 10DPO at the earliest. We'll see!! YOU??
Reenie - So sorry you had a bad experience with the MD. You are right that sometimes you need to insist on the right person. I agree people shouldn't have to deal with that. Too funny you had a temp drop today also!
Dare I say my bb's are just getting twinges of soreness. This could totally be in my mind!

mmisabel Hope your temp goes back up tomorrow, and yay for twingy bb's!

blondie Hope you get your ob/midwife situation straightened out soon!
reenie Hope your temp goes back up tomorrow too! That's really awful how the receptionist treated you when you had your chem.
mmh Hoping for no spotting this weekend for you!

Kimmer - Welcome - hope your stay is short and sweet!
ND - Good luck with all of your testing. My DH hates the idea of filling a cup as well.
Blondie - That is unbelievably frustrating. Why would they run just a blood test to say yes or no you are pregnant! And that class sounds just ridiculous.
Diam - I would totally go with the second temp - I have had the exact same thing happen to me a couple of times and I've always gone with the second number (plus it is higher.)

Hey ladies,
Got a little carried away and tested this morning. I'm actually not even certain if it was considered FMU since I woke up to pee at 1am and again at 4:30am (and tested with that urine). BFN. I KNEW it was too early but it still sucks to see.
Last night my bb's were killing me. It went from twinges to full on soreness. I hardly ever get sore bb's with AF, and if I get a little twinge it's right before AF, not this early. So I thought something might show. I felt a little hot last night too (another typical sign for me). Could I be that psycho that I'm making my body do this???!!!
I think I'm going to try to be strong and wait until Tues. (CD12) to test again. The sucky thing is I work Sunday and Monday night so I won't "truly" know if my temps are staying elevated, so I might give myself false hope. I hope everyone else is doing well!

Me Well, I'm back from vacation and guess what? Still no AF. I am on CD42 now. LOL Worlds longest cycle, I think:D I took a pg test today just in case and it was negative. We werent TTC in June anyway so I wasnt surprised. I just wish I knew what my body was doing. I think I may have to wean BFing to be able to get pg. My plan was at a year anyway. mmisabel - I got a BFN too. I kind of expected it, but my temperature shot up this morning so I thought I might get something.

diam Sorry about the BFN :( Hopefully you will get a BFP in the next few days.
I have a question for you ladies (not really pertaining to charting but what the heck!) For almost a week I have been feeling so gross! I am soooo bloated and my lower abdomen is sensitive (like if I touch it or push on it it hurts). My stomach even stick out when normally I have a pretty flat stomach. I have taken gas x and midol and nothing helps. What could be causing this and how do I get rid of it! Its soooo freaking uncomfortable.
Reenie
07-12-2008, 07:01 AM
mmisabel and diam124 Sorry about the BFN.
MMHinCA I'm like you, I want to see if I can get past my normal spotting before testing. Crossing my fingers that we both make it to Monday morning.
triciarose99 Ah yes, I never thought my life could become so clearly defined in terms of "boring" weeks and "exciting" weeks. :p
ABirney That's one thing I dislike about temping; I tend to overanalyze things in general, and then with the charting, it just makes me overanalyze every.little.temp. I can make myself crazy. You are so much more level-headed about the temp-jump than I would be.
bensgirl1222 Congrats on first official month.
me- Well, I am mad at myself because I turned off the alarm by accident this morning without temping. Then I woke up two and a half hours after I normally temp, so that would have been no good. I really wanted to see what it was today. I guess it doesn't matter... what will be will be. I was feeling a little bit more optimistic earlier in the week, but now, notsomuch. My BFF and her DH are planning TTC next cycle (we always have our AF about the same time, it's so strange), so this is her first month off BCP. She told me last night that she wonders if she might be pg this cycle... she should know in a few days, too. Anyway, we are going to Las Vegas next Saturday, so I guess I will be happy either way. Happier if I am pg, but okay with it if I'm not because I could really use a cut-loose, you know? Anyway, now I am really overanalyzing my chart; do you agree with FF's interpretation (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1002c9) of O date?
diam124

Reenie OMG, what a horrible experience for you to go through. I can't believe that woman was so mean to you. I'm horrified. :( I think you are right about the person that answered the phone too. But she wouldn't get me a nurse. I asked if I could talk to the nurse the 2nd time I called, but she said she could take my name and have her call me back which of course never happened! But the first time I had a chemical and I wanted the results of my quant, they NEVER called me with the results. I hounded them 3 x a day until finally someone gave them to me. That is when I vowed I would NEVER go to them if I were actually pg. As for your chart, it looks like you could've O'd the day after FF says. But since there aren't many pre-O temps it's hard to say. Have lots of fun in Vegas!
mmisabel I really did want the prog checked, but couldn't get the nurse to talk to me. and now it's Saturday and then Monday I'm leaving for San Diego for a week, so I feel like I just have to wait this out. I hate feeling this helpless though like nobody would help me when all I asked for was just such a minor thing. As for you, all of your signs are sounding really positive! I had all of those too. Especially being hot. But I would go from hot to cold easily also. I'm sorry for the BFN but you still have a chance! Thanks for the advice on staying here or leaving. I think I will stay for a while. I joined the March 09 thread but I still like posting here too.
MMH Good luck! I'm rooting for you here! I know Monday cannot get here fast enough.
ABirney I hope your temp was a fluke and it all goes back UP!
tricia Yes it's more than frustrating  I hope things start to pick up for you soon! Good luck!
bensgirl So sorry for you long cycle but congrats on officially TTC! I hope you O very soon! As for your symptoms that is weird. I would say possibly pg (but you tested neg) or AF is coming. Maybe you had an annovulatory cycle and it's PMS? I wish I could help, but I am too new at all this stuff. Nevertheless, I hope you get answers soon and that you feel better! Or I hope you're pregnant! ;)
Diam OMG, that sounds like your are PG!!! Keep testing, a line is a line right? And your symptoms and temp rise are very promising! :D
Wow, so I had lots of replies and I apologize if I missed anyone! So whoever told me to watch out for the temping was right! Because my temp went down this morning and I was so worried I couldn't go back to sleep forever. But then this morning I took my last HPT. I had barely laid it down flat when the "pregnant" sign came up. So I think that is good news right? My hcg levels must be pretty high to get an instant read? That made me feel better. So I guess I should relax and quit temping. I'm not temping on vacation next week anyway. It's going to be my VACATION for real. :)

Ok, I'm back.
mmisabel - I've been very hot too the last couple days. I was sweating this morning and it was nice and cool in the house. We went to the pool and I was concerned about overheating so I stayed in the water most of the time.
Bensgirl - have you changed your diet lately or eaten a lot of high-fiber foods? I get that horrible bloating and gas when I eat lot of fiber. I eat lentil soup for lunch almost every day, but if I add carrots or something it can make me uncomfortable.
Reenie - bummer about turning off the alarm. I think the FF O date looks right to me.
MMH - I've also been having mild cramps that come and go and I've been very irritable.
Blondie - I've heard the same thing about not temping after BFP. I think as long as you're not having any bleeding you can assume everything is ok.
I'll test again tomorrow. Like I said, DH says he doesn't see it but he didn't look as hard as I did. :) I might see if I can see it on a digital photo.

triciarose Hope you start gearing up to O soon.
mmisabel Sorry about the BFN, but your signs sound promising! Hope you get better news in a couple days!
bensgirl Sorry your cycle is so wacky. I agree that maybe BF'ing is what's throwing it off. I know long cycles suck... since charting, my longest cycle on record is 85 days, but I seem to remember once in college that I went about 9 months with just a day of spotting here and there. Hope you had a good vacay!
diam I really hope that faint line is real!!! Hoping you see a nice dark line tomorrow! :D
reenie Bummer about missing your temp this morning, but like you said, one temp isn't going to change anything, you either are or aren't. Hopefully you and your BFF will get to be pg together! Have fun in Vegas too!
MMH Nice symptoms! Hoping for good news Monday!
blondie Yay for the pg coming up right away! Have a great vacay!
My temp was back down today, as expected. I wasn't too excited about the jump because after charting for 3 1/2 years, I know my body and knew it was because I was warm. Also after 3 years of TTC, I'd be shocked for this to happen on it's own. Just charting for something to do until we can save up another $2k for yet another assisted cycle.

It was a FRER.
We went out tonight for a friend's birthday and a friend of the friend (who I've never met before) leaned over to me and asked if I was pregnant in a whisper. I guess it was because I wasn't drinking but she said I looked like there was something on my mind. I didn't really know what to tell her so I said I might be but I wasn't sure yet.

Well BFN this morning. Crap. I don't understand it -I can still see the line on yesterday's test and I can't see it on today's test. My temp was up again this morning.

Any 10DPO girls testing (or retesting) today? There are some very nice charts out there!
Me: Another slight temp dip. :( I was very optimistic yesterday but not so much today. I am hoping to make it through the day without spotting as CD23 on average is the day I start spotting.

Darn diam124... I thought for sure you were going to have good news this morning. Your chart looks great. It is still early (10DPO) so I would give it a couple days. I didn't get my BFP with my DD1 until 14DPO.

bensgirl - uggh for the long cycle and the wierd pains. It wouldn't hurt mentioning it to your doctor. Good luck with the weening!
Diam - Any updates??
MMH and Reenie- Hoping the spotting is staying away for you guys!
Reenie - Based on your CM I would say FF has your O right. Hard to tell for sure, though!
Blondie - I'm so sorry you are feeling helpless. I hope you get some answers soon! I'm the one who told you to stop temping. I believe once you get that BFP the hormones eventually start leveling off. Good luck!
ABirney - It really sucks how expensive IF treatments are. I hope you are able to do this without it!!
Me - my temp is still up. No testing for me. I had a TON of symptoms yesterday: sore bb's, hot face, frequent peeing, tired. Today they seem a bit diminished. I'm a little tired and the bb's come an dgo. Who the heck knows! I work the next 2 nights and if AF isn't here I'll test Tuesday. I'm feeling a little less psycho about the whole thing. For now! ;)

MMHinCA Good symptoms... sorry about the BFN, but you never know... hope you make it through today without spotting!
Blondie That instant read is WONDERFUL! :D
diam124 Man, I was so excited for you that after I woke up to temp this morning, I had to get on the computer to chart-stalk you. :o Sorry about the BFN. Maybe it's too early.
ABirney Doesn't it feel like, with TTC, everything's sort of a hurry-up-and-wait situation? Hope you get that $$ soon for the assisted cycle.
mmisabel Thanks for the opinion on my chart. I never have much CM anyway, and this month was really bad. We are going to do OPKs for anticipated late-July O, I think, and then if that doesn't work, on to the CBEFM for late-August O. I am a teacher, so I would be extra-thrilled to have a spring or early summer baby; that way, I could take my maternity leave and have it extend into summer or go for summer, have baby, and take my maternity leave at the beginning of the next school year. I have about ten weeks saved up for maternity leave (leaving some room for doctor's appointments, sick days, etc.), and our summer is also ten weeks. But the truth is, after SWH since December 2006 (and TTC w/charting since December 2007), I could care less and would welcome a baby ANYTIME.
Hiya, Kimmer. :)
me Well, I've had a bit of my 10DPO spotting today. But, looking back at our BD pattern, I'm not all that surprised. Oh well. At least AF was kind enough that I should be mostly over it by the time my girlfriends and I are in Vegas, provided that true AF starts tomorrow as it probably will with this spotting. BD for the next cycle ought to be tricky since we are going to be OOT staying with family and friends during what will probably prove to be "prime time." Do you feel comfortable DTD/BDing at someone else's home OR even if you don't, do you still do it?

07-13-2008, 11:41 AM
Thanks for the support everyone - DH and I were pretty disappointed this morning. I know it's still early overall, but if yesterday's line was a true line then I would think I would have seen at least a faint line today. Maybe it was an evaporation line.
MMH and mmisabel - your charts are still looking good I think!
Reenie - Sorry to hear about the spotting. Your chart still looks good though. To answer your question, I would normally not BD at other people's houses, but this month we were visiting the ILs, so we did. I was not missing a month just because we were staying at their house.

MMH and diam - sorry about the BFN's. :( Hopefully it was just too soon!
mmisabel - your chart looks good! Keeping my fingers crossed. :)
Reenie - I have never BD at someone else's house, but if I was on the path of TTC I would make an exception. :)
Me - well, I don't think I O'd on CD 17, as I would have had AF by now (or a BFP), and I have neither. I don't agree with FF on an O date of CD 18, so I am sticking to CD 19 for now. Tomorrow is my official test date, so I will wait and see what happens with my temp in the morning before I test.
Reenie
07-13-2008, 06:55 PM
diam Sorry about your disappointment. :( That just plain stinks. I never have a big temp drop until I've already started AF, which I guess, in my case, is bad and good. Bad because I keep my hopes up, good because, with my LP as short as it is, it suggests that I have okay progesterone levels.
Hi, ABirney. :)
nuhmah Hope you get a BFP tomorrow! :) I have never BD at someone else's house either, and I really see it as disrespectful in a way. So DH and I are trying to figure that one out (for the first part of the trip, we'll be at my brother's; for the second part, we'll be at a friend who was a GM in our wedding).
So we went to the grocery today and while we were there, DH was looking at the OPKs. He had been looking at the CBEFM on eBay this morning, and after he saw that the 7-stick package of CBE OPKs were $39.99, he said we should skip the OPKs and go straight to the CBEFM since it can be reused for multiple pregnancies and/or resold on eBay. So we got one and 30 sticks on eBay this afternoon. Hopefully it will come quickly so we can try it out this month. Going over to the Family Planning to read the thread on the monitor now...

I wish I had time for individual replies, but I am barely holding my head up right now. I just want to say sorry for the BFN's but I think you all still have a chance with it being so early. So when I get back I hope there were lots of BFP's here!
mmisabel I knew someone told me that and I wish I'd listened. So is that why my temps have gone down some?
I'm leaving in the morning, but not till around 10 so i might have time to check back in. I am so scared because I'm not taking my thermometer and AF is due on Tuesday and I feel like I can't breathe until that day has come and gone. And really Thursday is THE day because I will have gotten past 18 DPO! I am freaking out. Then I fell and busted my ass leaving my sister's house tonight. Now I"m sore from that and I cried all the way home. My emotions are crazy right now.

Reenie - I'm seriously thinking about the CBEFM too. I think I'll talk to DH about it tonight. I'm just not 100% convinced that it is all that different from opks.
Blondie - Have fun on your trip and hopefully you can relax!
Good luck to everyone testing today!
BFN again this morning for me. I also had a little spotting so I'm very pessimistic this morning. I actually called my OB and got set-up for a preliminary fertility work-up. There's no exam but she said they may do bloodwork. I have a feeling I won't really get any info at the appointment.
My temp is still up, but I had a restless night so I'm not convinced that it's really still up. I did get a triphasic alert on FF.

Diam - Sorry about the BFN. There is still hope!
I broke down and tested this morning. My symptoms were just SO similiar to my last 2 pregnancies that I had to confirm that I wasn't going crazy! I got a BFP!! One on Target brand and the digital CBE, the lines are faint and the CBE took the full 3 minutes, so it's still early. After my last ending in an m/c I am VERY cautious right now. Oh, and just to tell you guys I had an internet cheapie that gave a BFN on 9DPO and I dipped another in the same sample today and still nothing. So avoid them!!!

MMH - I love the comparison of your two charts. I love comparing mine, too - its fun to see the same patterns develop.

Me: Nothing. My temp dipped this morning below the CL - I even temped twice to make sure. Nada. No symptoms of AF showing up, and today would be the day if that were to happen. Usually I get really bloated, broken out, and very crampy. None of those symptoms seem to be existing - but it is early in the day. The thing that is giving me hope, is that when AF comes, my temp usually goes way down. The temp this morning was just below the CL, and I did temp about a half hour later than normal. Maybe it is false hope, but I am hanging on to it for dear life! :D

Nuhmah - I hope the AF symptoms stay away!
The only thing giving me a teeny tiny bit of hope is that my chart still looks good. But like I said I'm skeptical of today's temp. Funny thing - if I add spotting to my symptoms it removes the triphasic alert. (so I removed "spotting" since it's only a tiny bit and I've only noticed it on tp. :))
I feel like crap today in general - I've been very weepy and feel like I'm coming down with a cold. I woke up with a mild sore throat.

TM, please move me to think I O'd, testing week of 7/20. Also in my member info could you put under Known issues/test results: Miscarriage 4/2008
Thanks!
I will probably test before that though, knowing me! This cycle was confusing...not sure if I O'd on cd 16 or 17. Guess the timing is ok either way though. My chart (http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/1e0d42).
On cd 17 I woke up hot w/ a high temp, and CM that day was mostly creamy with maybe a tiny bit of stretch. Definitely starting to dry up compared to cd 16. Very confusing to know what to chart. At 4am my temp was 97.5, but 2 hours later I woke at 6am and it was 97.3. Who knows! If I did O on cd 16, I would have thought my opk would have been negative on cd 17.
Only 1 day difference, not sure why I am so concerned about it. :p
Congrats, mmisabel and Blondie!!! Sticky vibes for both of you!
Diam- so sorry you got a BFN after a light line. I hate that! I still have fingers crossed for you though.
nummah and MMH- sorry for your bfns too!
Reenie- Re: your question about DTD at other people's houses...I am not comfortable with it, but luckily I haven't been anywhere with DH in that critical time period. I was with relatives a few times when my fertile time was occuring, but DH was out of town on business. I guess it depends on how much privacy there is, and how obvious it would seem if we pulled the sheets off the bed ourselves. Good luck with your CBEFM! I am thinking about getting one soon if no BFP this cycle. OPKs are a pain in the heiney sometimes. I hate having to hold my pee and reduce fluid intake at the same time as I should be drinking MORE to encourage fertile cm. And I usually feel the need to test w/ OPK several times a day right around O time.
To anyone I missed- Hello, and good luck!

mmisabel Congrats! That is a wonderful thing! Did you tell your DH?
MMHinCA Ohh, very promising about the no spotting. Give yourself a few more days and test again... I remember reading on here that many women don't get the early-early BFP's.
MelissaLovesPugs I can see why you're confused about your O date. I guess, when in doubt, go with the later guess (at least for me). Helps me keep my head level.
Katie I have had the internal and the u/s with dildocam, no HSG. You should be okay because the docs usually use a LOT of lube. I had an internal, colpo, and sonohystogram all in the same week, and it wasn't too bad; I just didn't feel like DTD for several days.
Hiya, Jill! :)
Thanks everybody for your thoughts on DTD at other people's homes for egg-catching purposes. I have had the faintest, faintest spotting on the TP twice today, nothing else. Other than being exhausted, I have no other symptoms, and my chart certainly doesn't look like it did when I had the chemical (which I'm not sure I should compare anything to anyway, considering the outcome). I wanted to test, but DH is discouraging me; he knows I have a pattern of spotting/hide-and-seek start to AF and doesn't want me to waste the test. So no real AF yet, but if it's going to come, I hope it will hurry up so I can have a great time in Vegas with my girlfriends. TM, whenever you get around to it, could you please add TTC since SWH since 12/06; TTC w/charting 12/07 and add to Known Issues chem pg. 4/08 (4w3d) . Thanks.

Thanks for all the congrats, ladies! Like I said I am being cautiously optomistic for now. TM - can you move me as waiting to graduate. I will no way be ready until we've seen/heard the hb a few times.
Kimmer - the IC cheapies I got sucked for the pregnancy test, but I had good luck with their ovulation sticks. I used early-pregnancy-tests.com I have heard something about the dollar tests not being great lately. Check out Family Planning for it. It's tough getting into the swing of temping with a little one!
Reenie - I'm telling my DH tomorrow. It's SO wierd. We don't even see each other on Mondays as I head into work before he gets home sometimes. So I'll tell him tomorrow night. I know he'd be pissed if I told him over the phone. I'm not sure I'll tell him I've known since Monday though. Ooops! I hope AF stays away or you at least know for sure before Vegas.
Jill - thanks for the SBV's. How is it going for you in SAI?
ND - sorry you have so many tests this week. At least maybe you'll have some answers soon. I had the dildo cam a couple of times with my m/c. Absolutely no big deal. Friends of mine had the HSG and said it wasn't bad. Good luck!
Diam and MMH - I'm still rooting for you guys!!! Fingers crossed!!!
Melissa loves pugs - I agree it's tough to determine the O, but it definitely looks like you covered all your bases!

kimmer - I still do that! My DS knocks on his door until someone comes to get him. I just hop out of bed and go get him, instead of sending my DH and temping. I need to work on that!
MMH - keeping everything crossed!
ND - all that fertility testing does not sound like fun. :( I hope it goes better than expected, and that you get some answers soon!
Me: Well, all of my period symptoms showed up last night. My skin looked great before I left the house, I felt great, etc. In the middle of my softball game I got those pre-period cramps, felt yucky, and then my face was broken out when I got home. I had a huge temp dip this morning, so now I am just waiting. I may try some OPK's with my next cycle - but I have never really had good luck using them. It wouldn't hurt to try, right? But my LP on this cycle is pretty long for me - I am at 10DPO right now, and my usual is 8DPO.

Yay for the temp rise and no spotting MMH! Your chart is still looking good. :)
Sorry about the AF symptoms Nuhmah. :( But it's good that your LP is longer than normal!
I'm 99.9% sure I'm out - temp dropped and BFN today. I told DH last night about the CBEFM but he thought it was too expensive. I agree that it is pricy, but if it leads to a baby it is well worth it! I might talk to him about it more tonight. If I can point to anything negative about last month it was that we started BDing too early. Hopefully the CBEFM would help with that. I also didn't have as much CM last month. Which is weird because I was drinking a lot of grapefruit juice and green tea. Maybe I was dehydrated. We were out of town a lot (driving trips) and I tend to cut back on drinks when I know we're going to be in the car a lot.
Yeah Blondie and mmisabel.. and I am pulling for you MMHINCA... I am starting to get some March buddies... keep them coming ladies!!!
Congrats Blondie and mmisabel!
Hope this is your month too MMHINCA!
Diam, Reenie, and Huhmah- sorry about the AF symptoms/temp drops. Hopefully you are still in!
ND- I have not had an HSG, but I had the US with the internal probe thingee. It did not hurt at all, just slightly uncomfortable. I think getting the blood work was worse. I hope you get some answers from the tests.
Me- I am not sure when I O'd, since I wasn't temping the first part of my cycle. I am happy that my temps are a lot less rocky than usual, and staying up pretty high for me. We did NOT have very good timing this month (at least from what I can try to guess from the temps I do have), so I am not super-hopeful. I may break down and test Fri if I don't feel like AF is coming.
Sorry for anyone I missed in SO's. Good Luck to everyone!

We are out this month - AF just arrived about 20 minutes ago. I went from having absolutely no symptoms to being cranky, bloated, having to pee constantly, etc all within a matter of a couple hours. I ordered some OPK's on Ebay, so I am going to try and use them for our next cycle. If DH is here, that is. It was a fluke that he was even around this time (he was supposed to be overseas for work), so I am hoping that happens again this time. :)
TM, can you move me to "Waiting to O"? Thanks!

mmisabel Hope you have fun telling DH tonight!
MMHinCA Looking GREAT! :)
nuhmah Sorry about AF.
diam124 Your DH is right, the CBEFM is expensive. We got a good deal on eBay, though (for a new one, too- DH didn't want to go with a used one, but supposedly, used ones are just as good as new ones after you reset them); probably cheaper than OPKs in the long run, can be resold on eBay (use the Advanced Search and check "completed listings"; you'll see that people buy used ones all the time), and can be used through multiple pregnancies. Just trying to give you some help in the persuasion department in case you have the conversation again.

Torch, congrats again!
Rennie, still holding out hope for you!
Nuhmah, so sorry about AF :(
MMH, good luck! yay for no spotting!
Diam, the monitor is expensive but even after 2 BFN cycles, I am still glad to have it. I think our timing is much better now. We got ours used on ebay, it was still like $65 I think but I just plan on reselling it again and I am sure I will make most of my money back. It worked fine too, being used. Just think, at least now you aren't spending money on BC pills or condoms!
Gia, Mmisabel, and Stacey, thank you all for replying about the internal probe sono thing. I had one today, which I wasn't expecting (I mean, they told me before they did it but I didn't know that was today). It wasn't bad, except I had to PEEEEEE!!! I even went before I got in the room but by the time they did it (20 min later?) I already had to go again! At least it took my mind off the discomfort (which wasn't bad). It was kinda sad to see the empty uterus, lol. I was half hoping there would be a little baby in there and they would say, "MY MY, you are WITH CHILD!!!!" yea right, lol. ;)
Tomorrow is another dildo cam (with catheter into the uterus) and then Thursday is the HSG. 1 down, 2 to go! What they saw today looked good so far.
But here is the bad news- DH called to get his SA results and they weren't good. I don't have the results in front of me, I know the morphology and mobility weren't that bad but the number was 1.4 million, when 20 million is normal. So that sucks! But it is kinda a relief to know what the issue is (hopefully there is nothing wrong with me) and also, at least this is easy to fix (hopefully- I like to think). Also, my doc is really proactive and they said today that they even give progesterone to all women, because it can't hurt. I was afraid I would have a doc that wasn't very proactive, so that was good to hear.
Sorry that was so long, but I wanted to fill all you ladies in! :)

I am trying not to get my hopes up- this is cycle 26 after all. But it is hard not to get my hopes up since this is the first cycle we had done "something" with the RE. I guess I will see- testing the week of July 27.

Sorry, mods - I cannot figure out how to post this in red :o.
I thought I'd give charting a shot this time :). I read TCOYF back in 2004 when I conceived my son. It worked right away. However, I forget most of what I learned during my initial charting experience, so I'm heading over to the fertility friend tutorials.
ND - I'm very sorry about the testing. At least with an identified problem, they know how to fix it???
Congrats to all the newly pregnant ladies! Good luck to everyone testing.

ND - glad the first part of your testing went well, and yay for a progressive doc! sorry about your DH's SA, though. Forgive my ignorance on this one - what will they do to help him along with that?
Missy - keeping fingers crossed for you!

Reenie - thanks for the input on CBEFM. I'm a little creeped out about buying a used one (no offense to anyone who bought a used one!). DH and I agreed if this next cycle doesn't work we'll purchase one (a good compromise I guess).
ND - Sorry to hear about the SA results. Did they give you any information about what he can do about it? I've read a lot of good things about FertilityBlend and SA counts. I hope the rest of your testing goes smoothly. I was curious to see what they said to you given how good your charts always look. I guess a low sperm count would make sense unfortunately.
Missy - I hope the IUI works for you this month! Keeping my fingers crossed!
Kristin - Welcome!

Well I received a little nudge, so I thought I'd come in here and update :) I've been testing, and although it's been really, really faint, I got my BFP! :D I'm cautiously optimistic, especially with how my last pregnancy ended in a m/c. It will probably be a while before I'm ready to officially graduate.

I broke down and tested this morning... BFN! I even used my last test which was a digital one... It sucks to see the words "not pregnant"! :( I have no idea what is going on with this cycle. I ALWAYS spot days before AF! AF should be here by Friday! :( I am SUPER sad!

MMH, one thing I have learned is that my body never ceases to surprise me. I really hope you get your BFP this week though!
Jill, good luck, I hope you can get the IUI!
JillyBean, cautious congrats and SBV to you!
Diam, I was creeped out by a used one too but just couldn't afford a new one. When it came, I wiped it down with Clorox wipes. Also, the tests kinda make it more sanitary, because you pee on the little stick and then put the cap over the peed on part before you insert it into the monitor. So thats not too bad. Hopefully you won't need one though!
Oh and I was curious what they would tell us too. I just got back from the sonohysterography and everything looked great. That is where they check the lining of your uterus for polyps or adhesions and mine was perfect. But the test hurt somewhat and now I have bad cramps so I came home to lay down (and CC ;)) for a bit before heading back to work. I am glad I don't have to go back to work tomorrow after the HSG.
Nuhmah, I don't know what they will do for DH. Maybe they will put him on Clomid or some other medication. I heard with low sperm counts that IUI isn't very successful and that sometimes they move straight to IVF. If that is the case, we will wait maybe 5 or so months until we proceed with that. In the meantime, we will try other things like (in addition to meds) like vitamin supplements, more water, less coffee, no beer, no more biking, boxers (now he wears boxer briefs), A/C on at night during fertile time, and BD in the AM. They might send him to the urologist but we don't know what they will do since we haven't had our consult yet.
Kristin, welcome!

Wow I am way behind... Here goes catching up... Sorry if I miss anyone.
bensgirl - Sorry about the long cycle - they are asolutely horrible! My longest cycle has been 58 days, hopefully yours won't be that long.
blondie - have fun on vacation!
mmisabel - CONGRATULATIONS!
MelissaLovesPugs - Good luck - hope you caught your egg.
NotDesperate - Good luck with your tests - I have had all of them and the only one that I hated was the HSG. It was pretty painful for me (pretty bad cramping afterwards, but not during,) but I have heard that it isn't that bad for all. Sorry about your DH SA, but at least you know what's going on and it is possible to fix.
Gia - Good luck with this cycle.
nuhmah - Sorry about AF. Good luck this cycle.
missy329 - Crossing my fingers for you.
kristin - Welcome - I hope your stay is short and sweet!
JillyBean - CONGRATULATIONS! Sending you sticky vibes.
Jill1228 - Good luck.

Still 13DPO and still no spotting! This cycle is crazy! So my yearly gyno exam got rescheduled for tomorrow (assuming AF doesn't arrive before then). This will be a perfect time for me to talk to my doctor. We have been trying for #2 for 5+ months (I know that is not a long time, but after getting pregnant with #1 on the 2nd cycle off BC I am a little worried).

Reenie - sorry about AF possibly arriving on vacation. It sucks that we have no control over it - I used to use BCP all the time to manipulate my schedule. Hey, at least you can drink in Vegas! I'm not a big drinker by any means but I think I will be making myself a yummy mixed drink tonight. :)
I'm still spotting too, but I'm hoping AF will show today.

Reenie, sorry about AF! Thats the worst when it comes on vacation. I am going on vacation the first week of August and I hope AF stays away for me too. I will be CD25- CD33 but since I O late I should be ok or just starting to spot on the way home. I think I will be on progesterone then so maybe no spotting but watch this be the month I O on time!
MMH, so sorry about the temp drop. And Diam, so sorry for the spotting. It just sucks so much :(
Me: Well I am all done with testing, yippeee!!! I am so glad this week is over. I was more freaked out about all the bloodwork today than anything else. I can't believe how worked up I was! It went fine though, I'm such a baby.
And my HSG went good too. It hurt but not nearly as bad as the sono/saline thing yesterday. I think this nurse practioner is really good. The radiation tech or doctor guy was hot too :) LOL! DH went with me and held my hand so that was really nice. I was scared when I got there and saw the big room and table and big equipment but it wasn't bad. Also, my tubes were perfectly clear and the dye went flying through them! So everything with me is perfect, which is awesome because we can just focus on DH.
Sorry for my extra long posts lately!

I had my yearly gyno exam today. Everything looks great. The doctor said she won't do anything for me until we have been trying for 12 months. We will be moving onto our 5th month once AF comes... She said with all the stress we have going on (husband looking for a job, trying to see our house, living with MIL) that it is no wonder it is taking some time. I feel better as we move onto this next cycle! I am hoping AF comes soon so we can move on!

Hi to everyone else! Good luck to those in the 2ww or catching eggs, and sorry to those AF found.
As for me, I've been spotting since Tuesday, and AF is due Saturday. Didn't think it would work this time with just trying on our own so I'm not too bummed by it. We are just going to take a break for a couple months and save up for another IUI.
In other news, DH's grama passed away Tuesday. Funeral is tomorrow.

MMHinCA Glad to hear your visit went so well... it always feels nice to be reassured by a professional, ya know?
ABirney So sorry about your DHs grandma. :( I'll be thinking of you tomorrow.
me- The CBEFM and sticks arrived today. Now AF just has to show up. One part of me wants to just use it the following cycle (hopefully there won't be one ;) ) since I'll be travelling 9 out of the next 12 days (but only four without DH and that would be during AF if she ever shows). Opinions? For some reason, I feel nervous about putting it in my luggage on the plane.

ND - Glad to hear the HSG went well! Did they give you the bloodwork results or are you still waiting for those?
MMH - Glad to hear your appointment went well. This is also our 5th month of trying. I saw a non-gyn related doctor yesterday and mentioned the TTC frustrations. She pointed out that DH and I have been under a ton of stress the past several months (we were trying to decide if we should move out of state and sell our house, then DH had some serious health problems, BIL was in the hospital, etc., etc.!). She said it doesn't surprise her that it has happened yet.
ABirney - so sorry to hear about your GMIL. :(
Reenie - I would probably take the monitor in my carry-on luggage just in case the luggage is misplaced.
Blondie -glad everything is going well!
I'm still spotting - AF had better show up today. I'm so sick of waiting. I've been trying to schedule a visit to see my family and I was thinking of August 1st, but now that might be too close to O (DH isn't going with me), so I think I have to push it back to the following weekend. Doesn't AF understand that I need to buy a plane ticket?! ;)
By the way, I always save my positive OPKs and my HPTs until the end of the cycle (I have no idea why) and then throw them away. I went to throw away my HPT from Sunday and the line is even darker now that it's dry. I'm going to show it to DH (because he said he couldn't see it). I'm still not sure if it was truly a BFP or just an evaporation line but I'm glad it wasn't my imagination!
Reenie

Blondie Congrats on making it past your goal! :D
diam124 Good point about bringing it carry-on. DH had just told me to put it in my checked bag because of having to explain it to TSA if I carry it on. But I think you're right, I'd rather carry it.

MMHinCA- I'm sorry about AF. :(

ND- glad your test results were good. I hate getting bw too. I have teeny veins so it always is an ordeal.
Abirney- Sorry about your GMIL.

Hey, I hope you all are having a great weekend so far. I had to say goodbye to my mom and sister and cousin tonight as they head back to Little Rock tomorrow. But unfortunately I have to work this weekend and get up early tomorrow so I came home. I talked to a midwife today and she is going to come to my house and see me on Monday evening so not an actual appointment but something. She was so nice and I liked her a lot.
Reenie Oh gosh, have a wonderful time. Well, I know you will. ;) you're only 4 hours from me. :)
diam I think it is CD1 no matter what like MMH said. Good luck this cycle!
Katie Thank you for the SBV's. I need them. I am sad because one of my "friends" on FF that I chatted with had just gotten her BFP about a week before me and she miscarried today. I am so sad for her, and I am scared too.
Gia Good luck this cycle. Hopefully the monitor will help you with timing. I know it has worked for a lot of people.

Question for anyone who had any fertility testing done:
Did you have any spotting after your sono (the one where they insert a catheter into your cervix and inject saline in your uterus to check the lining) or HCGs? My HSG was Thursday and the Sono was Wednesday and this morning I woke up to some spotting. It is kind of worrying me, I never have mid-cycle spotting. We have not DTD in a week so it's not from that and also they saw on my sonos this week that I have no cysts or any kind of growth whatsoever in my uterus or on my ovaries so I assume it is from all the internals this week but the last one was 2 days ago. I hope it is not ovulation spotting, it should be too early for that. Actually on my sonos I only had 1 follie starting up so I doubt it is that. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the input on AF/CD1, I did make yesterday CD1.
Have fun in Vegas Reenie!
ND - I always spot after pelvic exams (an old doctor told me my cervix had a rough texture to it from years and years of BCP but now that I think about it I spotted after exams even before BCP). So I would expect to spot after procedures like those.
Blondie - glad you found a midwife. Do all midwives make home visits? I would love that! I really hate going to doctor's offices and I get all worked up before appointments.
NotDesperate
07-19-2008, 01:36 PM
Diam, I never spotted after pelvic exams before and also this is a couple days later, thats why I was worried. I guess it is still related to all the exams but it is annoying.
ETA: I just found this quote online: - Spotting commonly occurs for one to two days after
the HSG.
Mine didn't start until after a couple days but it is probably from the HSG, I hope...
I just got back from my friend's baby shower and it was ok but not only did it take 4+ hours but it just made me sad :(

Hey gals - unfortunately no time for SOs right now.
I am soooo confused. My OPKs say that I O'd between day 11 and 15, however my temp took a huge dip yesterday and a smaller one again today and CM and CP are still obviously pointing to the fact that I haven't O'd.
Has anyone had your OPKs be completely wrong on predicting your O day? Please look at my chart and tell me what you think is going on. Also just to see if it was possibly the OPKs that I had being faulty I bought another pack and used it yesterday and it was completely negative...
Also I don't think this would change anything, but this cycle is the first cycle I have used Pre-Seed and Instead Soft Cups.
I'm guessing I haven't O'd yet, but this is so confusing and frustrating...

Ambula- yay for the + OPK reading. Good luck!
Tricia Rose- Based on your temps, it does not look like you O'd. I think I heard you can have a surge and get a + opk, but not actually O. Maybe I heard it in the context of people with PCOS, but I am not sure? Hopefully someone else will have a definite answer.
Blondie- glad things are still going well!
ND- sorry the baby shower left you feeling sad. I hope operation increase spermies works this month so it can be your turn.
Me- I just bought the CBFM! I'm so excited. I am leaving on Sunday to go out of town for a week, so hopefully it comes by Saturday. Then we can be newbie buddies, Reenie. :)
AF has still not arrived, but I expect her tonight or tomorrow AM based on symptoms. I am upset, but excited about the monitor. And now I will be able to have a drink or two on vacation.
Bensgirl-sorry. I jsut saw your question. I think in FF on the left hand side you should see "Sharing" then select "Homepage Set up" and then there is a privacy section where you can check off what you want to show.

Gia Thank you!!
Tracie Welcome back :)
Abirney Glad AF is almost gone. Good luck this cycle!
amurphy Congrats on Oing!
Me Ok so I am CD52 today. haha. I have to laugh bc I gave up on temping. I have taken a few OPK's in the last month or so and all neg. I think my AF in June was a fluke and maybe it wasnt a real AF. So basically I am just sitting around...waiting for something to happen. I think I need to wean to get pregnant. Or at least drop some sessions. He turns a year on Aug 7th and from there I will drop some sessions (gradually) and hopefully will get on a normal cycle and actually O!

Bensgirl: I know just how long cycles can be really frustrating. Remember, I just had a 55 day cycle! Hang in there!

Welcome, Tracie[b]! :)
Sorry for the long cycle, [b]bensgirl. I didn't have anything resembling a regular cycle until my DS was down to 2 nursing sessions a day.
OPK question. How soon after you get a positive OPK should you BD? POAS.com says 12-36 hours, but that seems like such a large window. Do you O when there is a surge, or just after the surge? And if, say, I get a surge at noon and a negative at 6pm, does that mean I have completely missed my window of opportunity?
And if the window is that small, how the heck did the human race procreate as fast as we have??? LOL

Nuhmah-
You might have caught the tail end of your surge...I think I missed mine all together last time. So I would BD as soon as possible after you get it...but dont stress if you cant that second. Hopefully it will be close enough!
I got my positive yesterday and a negative today (well, its weird to say that since there was still a line, but obviously it wasnt as dark) and I dont know if we should again tonight. Im pretty tired, as is he...but I dont want to look back and wish I did just in case!

Welcome back, Tracie!
Gia, good luck with the monitor and have fun on vacay!
Ambula, yay for a +OPK! Good luck!
Tricia, sorry about the confusing O. That can be so frustrating when you are trying to pinpoint it exactly.
AMurphy, I hope you caught that egg!
BensGirl, CD52?? LOL! You probably do need to wean to O, I bet as soon as you do, you will get AF.
Nuhmah, you will O 12-48 hours after the +OPK (most common being 36 hours). The LH surge is just before you O. It is best to BD the day of the surge and then the next 2 days (or every other day if your DH has a low sperm count). The spermies can live for up to 5 days so I guess that is how the human race procreated so fast, its not like you only have a 1 hour window in which to get pregnant. I am glad its not that hard!
Here is a link I found on OPKs (http://www.pinelandpress.com/faq/opk.html).
Me: CD15 and just waiting to O here soon. I started the monitor for this month (I start late so I can save sticks but I started too late this month maybe!) and it was on a low reading, which I expected. I will probably O late this week or weekend. DH and I go to the RE for our Next Step Consult on Friday and I am hoping he will go ahead and put me on Progesterone for this cycle since I will have just O'ed or am about to. Wish me luck!

Thanks for the OPK answers. I am only on CD 8, but I was just asking in preparation of using them. I knew that sperm lived that long - I just never seem to be that lucky. :(
ND - good luck! I hope the visit with your RE goes well!
ambula - hope you caught it!

Well, my temp jumped again today so it looks like I did indeed ovulate. That puts me at 3DPO. (Not sure of our BD timing though. We BD'd two days before O.) My LP averages 12 days so I'll test around 8/1 if AF doesn't arrive before then!
Think I O'ed - Testing 7/27-8/2
amurphy- gl in the 2ww!
tracie- Welcome!:)
nuhmah- I know- me either. :(
ND- gl at the RE Fri!
ambula- hope you caught that eggie!
bensgirl- hope starting to wean helps your cycles to regulate.
ABirney- gl this cycle!
How's everyone else doing? Good Luck! We need some more BFP's!!!
Me- AF came yesterday. I was ok this month- no tears. I think I just was so sure I wasn't pg that I really didn't have a glimmer of hope this time. I was so sure I bought the monitor before AF actually came.
I have a Q- Drugstore.com was sold out of the test strips and I wasn't sure I would have enough time to get them from ebay before I have to leave for vacation... so where should I check to buy them in the store? CVS? RiteAid? I know I will have to pay more this month, but I just want to be able to start so I am willing to. When I get back I will bid on some on ebay.

Question for you all - I have a dilemma and I'm not sure what to do. For the past 2 years I've taken a Pilates class (once a week). Anyway, I stopped doing it right when we started to TTC because I knew I was going to miss a lot of the session for travel, etc. (plus I thought I would be pg by now!). So now the new session has started (12 weeks) and I'm not sure if I should sign up or not. The class is very ab-focused and most of the time we are on our backs (which I've read is not good after the 1st trimester of pregnancy). The instructor is great so I'm sure if I was pg she could help me modify a little to accommodate that. I'm just kind of freaked out at the idea of doing so much ab work while pregnant. But then again I think Pilates is so good for pregnant women because it strengthens your core. And I obviously have no idea if I will even get pregnant anytime soon! So I would hate to miss another session for nothing. (The class is non-refundable at this point so if I sign up I can't change my mind). What would you do?

Diam, I think it is a great idea! I bet it would help you recover faster from L&D. Also, it might help relieve stress which could lead to your BFP! I am sure the instructor would work with you when you become PG on modified moves. Or, can you switch to yoga classes midway if needed? I think I would go for it. I am considering yoga to help relieve stress.
Gia, I saw a box of test strips at our Happy Harrys (owned by Walgreens). They were $50.00 and next to the PG tests/condoms/lube, lol.

Thanks ND - I think I am going to sign up for it again. Once you're signed up for a class you can drop in on any other classes so I could switch to gentle yoga (which I took one session and found kind of boring). They also offer a prenatal yoga class but I think that's more for 2nd & 3rd trimester ladies.

diam I think you should do it, too. It's only 12 weeks so if you do get pregnant soon (hopefully) it would only be during your first trimester. (Or maybe a little bit into the 2nd, depending on where you are in your cycle!) My OB said that ab work was fine - I did crunches in the beginning of my last pregnancy.

I'm sorry I haven't been very active in here lately, but after our miscarriage I needed some time to come to terms with the fact that we were back on the ttc-train...
But tomorrow will mark four weeks since the loss, and I ovulated either last monday or tuesday (I overslept on tuesday and missed the month's most crucial temp!) so I'll be testing 7/27-8/2 We decided not to take a break from ttc, as I had a natural m/c, and emotionally it felt good to start focusing on the future again.
I'm actually stupidly proud of my body for having o'd right after the miscarriage :) I hope that means that my cycles won't be negatively affected.
Our RE will return to his office the week after next, and then I'll call him to check if he wants to run all the tests on me he had previously ordered, but we cancelled because I was already pregnant.
