So I've done bfing on both my kids, but never really stopped to wonder...in newborns who bf, what causes the seeds in their poop? Inquiring minds want to know :D

Tiny milk curds, from what I have read.

I am pretty sure it is primarily the fats from breastmilk.

Hehe ... good question! I've always wondered that too!

Yesterday DD had a poop with larger than normal seeds -- I'm talking the size of large curd cottage cheese. She hadn't pooped in a day (usually goes once or twice a day now). Any ideas why that was?

It's just curdled milk that doesn't get broken down quite as much as the yellow liquidy part of the poop. Usually it's because of fattier milk -- at this point I've seen it all (between the two boys) and it's all within the range of normal. :)
