I'm looking for recommendations for a kid's digital camera. My DD just turned 3 and loves our digital camera. We've got baby #2 due shortly so we thought it would be a good gift "from the baby." I picked up the Crayola one on sale, but got home and have read nothing but totally awful reviews online about it. So I'm planning to return and buy something else. I don't mind it being more expensive if the quality is decent, i.e. she will be able to tell what the pictures are.

Any recommendations??

I've heard great things about the Fischer Price digital for kids.

We have the Fisher Price one and it is a huge hit. My only complaint would be that the button to push to take the picture is too small for little kid hands, but Sarah seems to be able to use it regardless.

we got a digital camera for dd for the same reason - gift from baby #2 and it was a hit when we gave it to her :)

when I did research I saw good reviews for the VTech Kidizoom camera and got it thru paypal with case for cheaper than amazon.

She is easily able to snap pics and there are games on it too.. we have been of course distracted with #2 and haven't uploaded the pics yet but she enjoys the camera
good luck

We have the FP one. There's a thread on here about it somewhere.

DS1 has the FP one. I picked up the Vtech one on after xmas clearance at Target for my nephew. Both kids have been happy with them.

I wouldn't recommend them, but we've had really bad luck. We've used the FP one and DD loved it- but then it broke. She doesn't abuse toys and I don't think she ever dropped it. However, about the 5th time she used it, it wouldn't work. Changed all the batteries, etc, and nothing helped. Sent it back to FP and they replaced it. Used the replacement once and the same thing happened- it just quit. My cousin's DD's FP camera- the same thing happened after the 3rd time.
Instead of spending $70 on a crappy kids camera that has poor resolution, we decided to spend $100 on a cheap adult digital that takes nice pictures. DD has taken care of it and not a single problem.

Thanks for all the responses!

It seems like the FP is the most recommended of the kid's cameras. I will also start checking out the cheaper adult ones. Our baby #2 is coming sooner than expected so I'll need to get something settled this weekend.
