I need to buy one of these for DS's first birthday and I can't decide. I have wanted to get the Haba Walker Wagon forever...It's german made...it is well reviewed and looks nice.

However the Radio Flyer Wagon is about 50.00 cheaper, also well reviewed but is made in China :(

I know there has got to be some moms on here who have their own reviews.....HELP!

TIA!

Not sure of the significance of it being made in China but we have the Radio Flyer one. DS hasn't really used it much since he just started cruising but so far we like it! Its pretty sturdy and doesnt "run away" from him if you KWIM.

Thanks for your post Bensgirl! Good to know that is doesn't get away from him since that would be a concern of mine too since DS isn't walking yet.

The whole made in China thing for me is just all of the toy recalls that have happened recently...the lead paints and such. I am staying away from toys made in China just to be on the safe side.

I found this post again! I wanted to say that DS LOVES the RF one. He puts his toys in it and pushes it all around the family room and like I said before it doesnt get away from him. If he had one that got away he'd be face-planting in the carpet alot. LOL

hey bensgirl1222...glad to hear you DS is loving the RF wagon!

We ended up getting the Haba walker wagon and DS has found freedom!! He likes to put his ball in the back and wheel it around. He looks pretty proud of himself :D

*bumping!*

i am thinking about getting the Haba walker for my son's 1st birthday. i'm just wondering - is this the sort of toy that he will play with for a while, or something that will grow old quickly?

thanks!

I can only speak from my experience and DS has been playing with it every day since we gave it to him a week before his birthday.

We had an old plastic hand-me-down walker wagon. I don't know how old that thing was (I recognized it from my own childhood) and it went through the entire playgroup (5 kids) before DD got it (she's the youngest and was the last to walk). Each kid was obsessed with the thing as they were learning to walk but, a couple of weeks later, completely ignored it. I suppose that if you were to get a one with a wagon large enough to actually store things in it might be worth it to get a nice one but, based on my experience, we'll probably try to borrow one again when #2 is ready for it.

ETA: Now, the doll stroller is another story. It's not sturdy enough to support the weight of a kid learning to walk but all the 2 1/2-3 year olds in our group looooove it and have since they stopped needing the walker wagon.
