I just got an email that Nordstrom is buying the product brand E.L.F (eyes, lips, face) cosmetics and repackaging it w/ the Nordstrom label so they are selling everything with the old logo on it for a $1.
You still have to pay shipping (looks like it ends up being about $6 or $7) but
it seems too good to be good, kwim?
Anyone have any experience with this brand?

I know there used to be a thread on this but I can't find it. This is actually false. Snopes (http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/nothing/elfcosmetics.asp) has some info on it.
E.L.F. cosmetics have always been $1 and are not being sold at Nordstrom.
I can't offer any reviews as I have never purchased them (only brushes for travel).

I've never bought ELF but have seen it at Burlington Coat Factory and it seems to be about on par with say, Wet N Wild makeup.
I've also read it's a snopes rumor that cycles around every so often.

I wasn't crazy about their product. I bought a bunch of stuff the last time this "deal" went around. It was okay, but not great. The size of each cosmetic seemed to be very small and the container very flimsy. The tops of the powder and blush I bought cracked almost immediately. It was okay for the price I paid, but I wouldn't purchase their stuff again.

I bought some stuff, again it was Ok, it is nice that it is so cheap because i bought a ton of stuff to experiment, different colours i wouldn't normally buy. But i only did it twice and haven't bought again.

It's worth about what you pay for it. I ordered $30 worth of stuff at one point and honestly, wound up throwing most of it away. The eyeshadow was too powdery, and the mascara winds up giving me racoon eyes (even the waterproof.)
I won't be ordering from them again.

I use it and like most of it.
I agree - my sister and I bought a ton of the current colors to experiment with. Since it was only a dollar, we were able to keep in style without breaking the bank.
I do bare minimum for make up so I really only use their eye liner - and I never pay a lot for eye liner anyways. I got quite a few eye shadows which I liked so I'm able to have some when I want to spruce up my look. It's lasted awhile and I think it looks okay.
My sister buys from them more than I do (she's more of a fashionista) and usually buys in spring and fall to keep up with new shades. She has her Clinique make-up for her staples, and this is the "throw away" type stuff that she'll replace in the next season.

The same thing happened a few years ago where they had this email campaign that Bloomingdales was going to carry their stuff...it was all a hoax. Bloomies wasn't going to carry the line.
I had a few lip glosses from them. Not the best...but ok for a $1 I guess!

Thanks for the info everyone. I think I'll save my $$ for something else. I don't really need any make-up, I'm just a sucker for a good sale.

This was going around the office last month and I purchased stuff. Then as I was waiting to receive the order I checked online and found out it was bogus. Somewhat pissed I called e.l.f. and was able to cancel my order since it was still processing...over two weeks after I placed the order. Soooo glad I found out beforehand.

I wish those emails would stop circulating. It seems every 3-4 mos. a new one comes out!
