Any suggestions on music or story CDs for the preschool/early grade school age group? We present have (that I can remember) -
Lauri Burkner - I forget the name but it as "I'm going to get you, you better run" on it.
Trout Fishing - Big Trouble
School House Rock ( "a best of" kind of thing)
Little Einsteins (three stories with music mixed in, I forget the name but DS loves it for going to sleep.)
Green Eggs and Ham
Alll three Beethoven Wigs
Disney Road Buddies
They must be Giants 1-2-3's
Some 3 CD collection of kids favorites, with kids singing
A phonics songs CD by Twin Sister's that came with some workbook (the workbook we never use but DS really likes the CD.)

We get a lot of cds from the library (2 per week) and have found some good ones this way. Farmer Jason, Steve Songs, hmmm... hard to remember their names.
As far as ones we own, we have a lot of fun with the Wee Sing cds and books. DS follows along in the book while we listen. We have about 5 or 6 of these.
He also likes the Sandra Boyton books and CDs. Blue Moo is the latest and I love it, too. We also have Rhinoceros Tap, Dog Train and Philadelphia Chicken, which is, um, all of them :p Again, DS likes to read along in the book.

OH, I forgot about California Chickens, yeah we like that too. I have not played it in a while. Have to go find it.
We do the library too at times but they are so often scratchy that I don't do them that much. We also have recently moved and have not yet started using the new libary. On my list of things to do.

We have been renting some Disney movies lately so then we check out the music from the library - DS loves to listen to the songs after seeing the movie. He especially like Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast. Both kids also like the Backyardigans and Veggie Tales (it has religious/Christian undertones but it is mostly sharing, loving each other etc) - the On the Road/Songs for the Road one is really funny. We also check out stories that are read which is fun for a change - like Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the 3 Bears, Green Eggs and Ham.
Finally we have seen this man in concert twice at our library and he is great. I am not sure that I would actually buy his CD but if you can check it out or see a concert it is really fun, silly and entertaining.

DS loves Dan Zanes. :)
We also have a bunch of the Putumayo cds and Ralph's World, which are all good, too.

We just got Snack Time by BNL. Love it! DH and I have seen them in concert a number of times so it's fun to share them with DS & DD now.
We have: For the Kids, Too - Various Artists, some Wiggles, and DS loves his Music Together CDs
