I can't wait until the ad about the spastic clapping boy goes away. I have gotten to the point where I don't read any replies that keep him in my viewing window, I scroll past them so I don't have to watch him clap like a moron.
Whatever he's so excited about, I wish he'd get over it

Haha, I was thinking the same thing! I guess the advertisement worked, though, because I looked at it long enough to figure out whatever the heck he was clapping about.

Same here. That is one annoying ad.
I think I'd rather pay for CC than look at the crap.

That crap is on the page no matter how many times I reload or what forum I go to. Ugh. I seriously don't even want to post here until it's gone. It is really annoying.

I don't even pay attention to the ads. I had to go looking for Dima to know what you were talking about lol

The crazy thing is if you catch that ad from the side of your eye, you might think Dima is having some "personal" time. When I first saw that add, I didn't look directly at it and thought, "Oh my, CC has gone to new lengths for their ads." LOL!!

Does it have a sound? I guess I've learned to just tune the ads out from a visual perspective.
At least it's work safe.

I was beginning to wonder if I was the only one who thought that about Dima. I was like c'mon, it can't just be me. Whew! ;)

LMAO! The dirty Dima interpretation didn't occur to me, but before you go thinking I'm pure of mind, let me tell you that the flapping wallet of a few days ago looked like a big vagina to me. :o

Right now DIMA is at the very bottom of the page on my screen.....it's so distracting when it is right next to what I am reading!

Ditto. I never notice an ad unless it's pointed out (like this one).

It is a seriously annoying ad.
Right up there, though, is that I have some sort of "personalised" ad which is showing me "sexy, single" (females) in my country that I can meet online. Guess it's better than when the ads were all mail order brides from China, or those booby ads with the slogan tees that everyone got worked up about:p

And that is why I love Mozilla. No ads!

Well, I checked out what Dima is so excited about. A secret room hidden behind a bookcase in his playroom.
Am I the only one who thinks this is weird considering the recent news story involving secret, hidden rooms?

I use Firefox but hadn't installed adblock (just google adblock and install the application). Dima made it a necessity. Ah, I feel much better now.

Oh my gosh! I just posted in the Q&A asking how to get the ads off because "Dima" is going to drive me insane. Then I saw this thread. Thank goodness I'm not the only one!

Not that any of the 'higher ups' at CC care, but the Purchase an Asian Bride ad/banning crap is the sole reason I installed Mozilla. And I only use it as my web browser to surf CC

That ad is soooo annoying!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
All the moving and blinking ads are annoying, I really can't stand it and last night I was so irritated by them that I just closed out of CC altogether. Ugh!
I know CC wants/needs to make money and that is fine, but the ads they choose really cheapen the look and feel of this place.

You have to open your ad block and it will show a list of images etc... Find the images that are ads then select the ad you want to block. It should put a little red square around the ad you've selected then you just click block.

I just googled firefox adblock and found it and downloaded it. I haven't even had to tell it what to block. It automatically takes care of all the CC ads. So awesome.

My DH put it on for me back when that freaky girl ad was on back last year. She was annoying me so much and I don't even keep my sound on.

I agree. I understand that ads generate money, but the type of ads CC has had lately have been a real turn off.
CC doesn't pick the ads, they are directed to them.
And who knows if they even make money. I asked in the Questions section if the ad model is cost-per-click (as most are) or cost-per-impression, but there hasn't been a reply.
If it's a CPC campaign, I really doubt that many CCers are clicking and looking for Russian brides or the other ads that have been here.

Thank you, Carrie, for mentioning adblock. I just installed it and my screen is pristine. NO ADS!!
I don't really pay attention to the ads and this one didn't bother me. I just don't notice them. I do think it's foolish to come here and expect to enjoy the site for free and keep talking about ad block.

Go to this link (http://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions). I clicked both options in the 2nd box and I have no ads. It's like the old CC with no ads on either side of my page.
