This is so sad. :(

YANGON, Myanmar - The cyclone death toll soared above 22,000 on Tuesday and more than 41,000 others were missing as foreign countries mobilized to rush in aid after the country's deadliest storm on record, state radio reported.

Up to 1 million people may be homeless after Cyclone Nargis hit the Southeast Asian nation, also known as Burma, early Saturday. Some villages have been almost totally eradicated and vast rice-growing areas are wiped out, the World Food Program said.

It's very sad. I haven't watched much news but it seems like it's not getting much attention.

This is so sad. I just read on CNN that the death toll may reach 100,000. This is almost unfathomable to me.

How about the fact the UN has stopped all aid at this point because the Junta has confiscated the supplies and are not using them as intended. WTF. The latest death toll estimate is 66,000.

Do they even know that there's food and water sitting there for them? Do they think they've been abandoned by the rest of the world? My heart is breaking for them.

What makes me mad is that if the government waits much longer NOT to help their people with our help, that disease could get so bad there that it could effect other nations (like ours :(). In my opinion, they are paranoid, selfish idiots.

I feel kind of stunned about the whole thing - especially as the junta is exporting rice.

Yes the people need help, but their government won't let other nations help them. Supplies are used by officials. How do you force them to help them?
