View Full Version : Oh no, CHOCOLATE!

I was never really into chocolate. I mean, I'd eat it, but I never chose it when there was a choice between it and fruity candy.

Since last summer, though, I've developed quite the love affair with chocolate. It came out of nowhere. :p

I've found that, pretty much, I like chocolate in any form except dark chocolate and I don't like it frozen. But I have noticed recently that lots of people keep their chocolate in the fridge or freezer (this isn't a "keeping" issue, so I think it must be a preference). It got me thinking....

How do you like your chocolate?

I'm a chocolate snob, and love, love, love good chocolate, but don't care about the cheap kind.
I like milk chocolate at room temperature.
I've lately been loving Ritter Sport, chocolate heaven on earth

The darker and colder the better. I love really good chocolate, but even Hershey's Special Dark is a great treat.

I like the small dark chocolate Hershey's bars if they're frozen. Otherwise, I like milk chocolate, usually at room temperature, but I do like the hardness of it when frozen. If it's hot in the house, then I'll put chocolate in the refrigerator. Cold can cause white spots on chocolate, though.

White chocolate, room temperature.

I do keep it in the refrigerator, though, because I live in Texas and keep my house at 80 degrees during the summer, so if I left it out it would run the risk of melting.

I am a choc-o-holic! I especially love white chocolate. Mmm.... I don't know too many people who don't like chocolate actually.

Chocolate is a passion of mine...I like it in all flavors, but definitely prefer high quality stuff like See's or Godiva. Never really cared for frozen chocolate (unless it's in ice cream)...seems to dull the flavor to me.

I voted I don't like chocolate, but if I do eat it, 9 times out of 10 it is DARK.

My faves are milk and dark chocolate preferably room temp or warmer. I'm not a fan of cold/frozen chocolate or white chocolate. I like letting dark chocolate melt slowly in my mouth and savoring it. :)

I love dark chocolate, room temp or from the fridge. Or melted as fondue. I really dislike white chocolate and am indifferent to milk chocolate.

Just saw this post....OMG, love this too! I get it at Trader Joe's all the time along with the Trader Joe's Dark Chocolate, Raisins and Pecan bar. Yummy!! I think I'm going to go have a piece right now.

I love milk chocolate, but will eat white chocolate or dark chocolate in a pinch...I just don't buy them. My fav is the Lindt Truffles, and I keep those in the fridge. They just taste better to me when they are cold.

I'll eat the hell out of some Hershey's though (nuggets, kisses, chocolate bars, etc) but eat those at room temp.

Love love love milk chocolate! I like white and dark in small amounts too. Room temperature is fine, refrigerated is better and frozen is best :) And now I want some but don't have any! :(

Ritter Sport - I love the rum raisin w/ hazelnuts and the cornflakes bar.

Scharffen Berger and Valrhona dark chocolate bars. YUM!

Cadbury's milk chocolate bars - My boss and friends always send me some when they go to England. The American made bars just don't compare.

All my chocolate has to be room temperature and I have a preference for dark chocolate.

Yes. Exactly.

I should not have read this thread today. I'm doing WW and trying to stay in my points today!

Dark and cold. Or, if warm, wrapped in a croissant.

I don't understand freezing the chocolate. It seems like it would dull the taste somehow. I prefer mine slightly soft & sweet (ie milk & even white sometimes).

Also not a big chocolate fan here. I'll take fruity candy over it any day.

I LOVE chocolate- especially with peanut butter or mint!

I prefer milk, room temp, but also can crave dark chocolate. I am pretty picky about my chocolate, and usually diss the Hershey's in favor of the good stuff from Europe.

I'm not a fan of white chocolate at all. I love it dark but still melt-able. I enjoy it at room temperature, but there are times when a desert incorporates hot melted dark chocolate and it makes my toes curls in pleasure. I LOVE chocolate but prefer it on the darker rich side.

I need a choice for all of the above :o Actually, I don't like white chocolate. I WILL NOT eat cheap chocolate which tastes like wax too me. Other than that, I'm not too picky.

Cadbury's milk chocolate bars - My boss and friends always send me some when they go to England. The American made bars just don't compare.

YBY1--This is SO true. The chocolate bars sold here under the Hershey name do not have the same milk content as true Cadbury's from England and are therefore not as smooth & creamy. Ironically, I just bought a REAL Cadbury bar tonight at World Market (before reading this thread!) It was $3 but will be SO worth the extra $! YUM.

I didn't care about chocolate candy at all until I got pregnant with my son, and now I love it.

For milk chocolate - love Ritter Sport and (English) Cadbury. Oh, and Kinder Bueno - it tastes like Nutella. I love milk chocolate mixed with caramel. I got some milk chocolate from Iceland from Whole Foods recently and it was DIVINE, but you can only buy it in a package of two huge bars and it's expensive.

I don't really like dark chocolate by itself, but I do like it mixed with mint, peanut butter, or coffee.

I'm not big on white chocolate.

Temperature: milk chocolate right at room temperature and dark chocolate a bit colder.

**hanging my head in shame as I confess...**

I love to eat melted semi-sweet choc. chips mixed with a spoonful of peanutbutter by the spoonfuls. And no, I'm not pg, but it was made fun of less when I was. :D

(My sister and I used to eat it when we'd get home from school - my mom never had a lot of "junk" in the house, so we made our own...neither of us have recovered. :p)

I only like chocolate if it's mixed with peanuts, carmel, or other goodies.
