My 3 1/2 yr old DD is for the most part day potty trained (finally!). This has been a fairly recent milestone, since she was still having daily accidents until about 3/4 weeks ago. Anyway, she now only wears a pull-up during nap time and at night, but mostly wakes up dry from both.

My question is, we are going to the beach tomorrow and the car ride will be about 5 hours. Should I put her in a pull-up just in case for the ride, or should we stick with underwear? I would hate to use the pull-up b/c I don't want her to regress again, but I would also hate for her to have an accident while we are traveling. I know we will be taking multiple bathroom stops b/c I'm 30 weeks pg and have to pee all the stinkin' time :) so she will def. have lots of access to the bathroom.

Please let me know if there is already a thread about this! Thanks!

No real advice. I was wondering the same thing myself. In our case, DS is day trained as long as we are at home. He'll hold it when we're out. We're flying to Hawaii next month. So far we've decided to put him in a diaper for the flights. My worry is what is going to happen when he realizes he can't wait to use the potty at home.

I would do a pull-up and explain to her that it's because you'll be in the car for a long time, but you'd still like her to tell you if she needs to pee. The last thing you want is a peed-in car seat that you can't clean properly because you're not at home.

Can you maybe do underwear under a pull-up?
