we received a wedding gift years ago, someone had our wedding invitation put on a porcelain plate that we could hang...it was the exact replica of our invitation (same fonts, etc.). i would like to get one as a gift for someone else but i can't for the life of me find out how?? and i don't remember who got us the gift so i can't ask them...does anyone know a place (hopefully online) that does this? or what it may be called so i can do a better internet search? thanks!

Is it the actual invitation or did they have the same font/words that were printed on the plate?
My stepmom owns a paint-your-own pottery studio and there is a technique used where you can scan in a picture (or something like it) and have it transferred onto pottery and then glazed and fired. Its possible that something like that was done, and if thats the case there are several PYOP studios that do it.
A great place to look would be www.ccsaonline.com Its the ceramic studio association and they list members studios by country/state/town. I checked Mass and didn't see any Boston studios but here are a list of cities that have studios:
ACTON
ARLINGTON
CAMBRIDGE
CANTON
DUXBURY
EASTON
FITCHBURG
HANOVER
MASHPEE
NEWBURYPORT
PITTSFIELD
SCITUATE
SHREWSBURY
Let me know if you see one that's close to you and I'd be happy to find out if they do this type of thing. Also, the option is always there to scan one of your invitations and e-mail it to a studio. I'm sure they'd be happy to do the project and ship it to you. Is it possible to take a picture of the plate you have now?

hmmm.. our invitation was pretty plain so i am not sure if it was the actual invite on the plate or they just used the font/wording... unfortunately i can't take a pic b/c we are moving out of the country next week so it is all packed up and on it's way to storage. it seems like maybe it could have been done at a pottery place, thanks for the info! seeing as i am moving out of the area soon, i was hoping i could find a place where i could just mail them the invite and have them do it and send it to the people i want to give it to. cambridge isnt too far from me, maybe i can find a place there. thanks!

Just in case you were interested, here's the info for the studio in Cambridge. It looks as though they do a lot of wedding plates.
