Hi Ladies!

I could use your help. My wedding is still almost a year away, but since we're still in a smiliar season, we're thinking about flowers a little bit. We found some mini trees that would make really cute centerpieces and are sort of leaning toward that route. They would be really appropriate for our venue because it's pretty much a giant garden. Before we commit to it though, I have a question & would love to see any example photos anyone can help me find.

The trees look like this:

My question is, what is a good height for a "tall" centerpiece like a mini tree? We want to be sure that they don't get in the way of conversation, but I'm not sure how tall they'd have to be to be out of the way.

And any pictures of centerpieces made out of trees would be sooooo helpful. We'd put them in cuter pots or baskets & probably use candles or fabrics or something around the bottom as well. Does anyone have photos of something along these lines?

I just realized that the picture wasn't showing up in my original post, so I put in a new one. I hope you can see it now to get a better mental picture.

Does anyone have any inspiration photos they can show me? I'd really appreciate the help!

Well, I don't have any inspirational photos for you, but I did want to throw my hat into the ring with the "what height" question.

I have been to weddings/events with centerpieces of all shapes and sizes, and I have to say that as long as they are thin in the middle (like the tree) and the foliage is a good 2 feet from the table, you should be ok.

*bump*

Other than the recommendation that the leafy part should be 2 feet or so from the table, does anyone have anything to add? I'd REALLY love to see some pictures of trees (or even potted plants for that matter) used as centerpieces. I can't possibly be the only bride who has ever considered this... can I?

Crossing my fingers that someone comes across this & has something for me over the weekend........

I considered it, but never ended up finding pictures or ideas like what we wanted so I dropped the idea. It's a good idea though!!

We were considering just potted flowers with a few tealights around them. We were planning to repot the plants (azeleas-spelling, which is what I think you have pictured there?) in nicer pots and tie ribbons of our colours around them. We thought that if we got normal pots-like the 7 inch round ones-they would sit low enough to the table for people to talk.

I'll flip through my mags and see if I see any ideas, but I'm not recalling anything.

Since nobody was able to show me any pictures, I was forced to do a deeper search. I actually found a small handful *over there* so I'll post theme here in case they inspire anyone or help you understand what I'm thinking of. Here we go.....

Apparently this one came from "Oprah's Fairytale Wedding"

This one looks like it could be helpful except that I can't really tell what's at the bottom of the trees / on the table:

I don't think I'll go with fruit on the bottom, but at this point, I'll take what I can get picture-wise:

Posted by genndan100502 in Wild.Irish.Rose's WC journal. These are taller than what we'd have, but still better than nothing:

Any additional "tree" or even "potted plant" centerpieces out there? I'd love more ideas!

Thanks for tossing in your two cents, sdianems & Larissa!

Oh, I forgot to report back!! I looked through my wedding mags and wasn't able to find anything even remotely similar. I'm sure that you're not exploring new territory, but it does seem to be pretty off the beaten path (which is a good thing!!). If I come across anything I'll let you know though :)
