I'm incredibly clueless when it comes to shoes. I can ruin a good outfit because I just don't know what kind of shoes to pair with it. I just bought a pair of denim capris as well as a slightly dressier pair of khaki capri's. What the heck do I wear with them? I don't do flip flops/open sandals. I don't like my feet hanging out in the open.

Ballet style flats would prob be your best option then. Keep them light and sockless :) and you'll be good to go. If you must wear a shoe with some support, go with a sketchers style shoe vs athletic shoes. The worst thing you can do is capris with socks and tennis shoes.

I agree with boilermaker, try to stay away from socks.

How about some white Keds or other slip on sneakers?

Depending on how tall you are, you might want to go for something like a wedge or espadrille to get a little height. I'm 5'4, so capris tend to make me look shorter if I don't wear something with a heel.

Ditto that - unless you're going for a long walk while pushing a stroller, then you can do tennis shoes, but the socks must not be higher than the ankle. ;)

If I'm not wearing flip-flops, I wear Skechers.

I only wear socks and tennis shoes with my workout capris (and then I only wear them to work out). And that's out of necessity, not because it looks good.

lol.. My mom suggested tennis shoes, but I told her no way in hell. I was thinking ballet flats, but didn't know if that would be ok or not. Thanks for the suggestions!!

I'm like you - I just don't do flip flops and open toe shoes. I always found it hard to find shoes that look nice with shorts and capris until I discovered Clarks last summer. I think they look great with capris and they are very comfortable! Here are some current styles:

Do you all think these would look ok with capris?

I think those would be cute with capris. Along the same lines as Kristin posted, I have a pair of Privos that I wear with my capris. They are made by Clarks but have a little different look. The "float" only weighs 6 oz! Privos by Clark (http://www.zappos.com/n/es/d/722277698/page/1.html)

What about a peep toe...your foot isn't really out in the open...I like these shoes. Not quite as casual though.

I like to wear mules and wedges with capris. Espadrilles would be cute with the denim capris. :)
