March Madness 2008!

Poking around, I couldn't find a thread yet...

So what are you all thinking is going to happen this year? Any favorite teams? Favorite human interest stories? The NCAA tournament has long been my favorite sporting event of the year...and especially in these early days before everything starts and everyone still has a chance--there's so much excitement and anticipation!

I grew up in CT so I would have to say that I always root for UConn, but my husband's also a PhD student at UCLA, so I wouldn't be sad about that either. Not to mention UCLA has been so close the last 2 years, maybe this is finally their year?

Actually I think UNC has an excellent chance this year.

And I'm forever grateful to UConn for beating Duke in the Nat'l Championship in 99.

DH and I are UCLA grads, and we're excited and hopeful. However, despite their great talent, they have been a little spotty towards the end - just barely beating lesser teams. They have their first game tonight, and it should be a breeze. Once I watch them tonight, I'll have a better sense on whether I think they'll go all the way. But they have great talent and SHOULD win it all!

Craziness...instead of a 4 and 5 playing each other, there's now a 12 and 13 playing each other...not in ONE division, but in TWO!! That's messed up!

I was sad to see my Hoosiers fall in the first round, but I wasn't surprised...I blame it all on stupid Kelvin Sampson who went and made this season hell for the players. :( :mad:

You know, I don't follow it super closely (before March :D), but I didn't think they deserved the #2 seed this year, esp. after losing to Clemson in the second round of the ACC. It was a less than stellar season, though certainly better than last year's stinker. Whatever is going on, I am not pleased. :mad:

What a game last night!! I am fine with Roy now, but the look on his face when KU won was priceless!!! I was not impressed with Tyler who won player of the year. He was a bit dramatic every time he fell.

So excited about tomorrow night!!!
