I quit my job to stay home with DD. I got offered a job yesterday (I didn't apply). It would be for the Christmas rush ten weeks. I could pick my own hours and work 8- 12 a week. (Two shifts). I could get family to watch DD so no sitter to pay (mostly of the time). I would be a in large department store and would get a good discount. It is very close to my home 10-15 minute drive. Should I take it? I would have spending money for gifts and also a discount.......
I am also starting a MOMS club group in my area, and have chosen to volunteer once or twice a month....

I would do it. In fact I might do something like that just for some extra cash for gifts. It would also be nice to get out and have some adult interaction.

I don't see why not. :) I actually went back to work part time when my DS was about 6 months old, and I had a friend stay with him for the 3 hours a day I was gone, 3 times a week.

It earned me some extra vacation money last summer, and it definitely made me appreciate my time with him that much more as well! :)

Sure! Especially if you have family to support you with free babysitting!

That discount will be great for getting gifts!

My mom did that when my brother and I were little -- she worked the Christmas Rush at Nordstrom -- everybody got gifts from Nordstrom those years. She loved it. :) I say -- go for it! It'll probably be a nice change of pace. I hope to do something similar when I'm in your position.

I definitely would. We can all use a little extra cash around the holidays, and it'll probably be something you'll enjoy too. I work part time and honestly, it's really nice to be able to have a grown-up conversation and go to the bathroom without an audience sometimes. ;)

Im in the process of doing this with the hospital close by. I am going to be PRN (as needed) so when they need extra help they will call me. I told them it would totally have to be around my schedule in order to get a sitter and so forth but Im really looking forward to it. Extra cash and a little adult interaction!

Definitely! I just quit last week too, and this week got a job offer (also unprompted). It was double the $$ of my last job, but I have no one to take care of DD AND the commute would have been 1 1/2 hours each way, minimum! If it had been closer, I probably would have taken it (basically getting full salary for a PT job!) :)
