I have a wrinkle in the middle of my forehead. It appears mostly when I raise my eyebrows or look up with my eyes. Anyway, at 31, it's getting more noticable and not going away as quickly as it used to!
Does anyone have any recommendations of an anti-wrinkle cream to target this area? Thanks! :)
i don't think any anti-wrinkle creams have proven to help with wrinkles, especially with a deep wrinkle like the forehead wrinkle. they seem to help a bit under the eyes, but i haven't found any that help with the forehead. that's probably why a lot of people get botox done.

I have that wrinkle and I'm 30. It gets Botoxed. Works fabulously.

Deep wrinkles like that really need Botox to soften the look. Or bangs.

I have the same wrinkle that drives me crazy and I'm also 31. I asked my dermatologist about it several years ago and she said no creams would work but she'd be happy to do Botox. I thought she was crazy (since I was only about 25), but now I'm thinking about it. I just wish Botox was more permanent. How much do you guys pay for it?

Another recommendation here for botox.

You pay for Botox by the dose. So, I would say anywhere between $450 and $800.

Wow, I'm in a small city on the East Coast and it costs just over $200 here.

do we have a botox thread? i'm getting ready to get my forehead done.
So the other day when my 2 and 1/2 year old woke up I got him and brought him into my bed hoping to coax him into letting me sleep a bit longer. We're both laying on my pillow face to face. My eyes were closed (as I thought his were) and I was just drifting back to sleep when I hear my boy giggle and say "Cracks!!". I open my eyes and say "um, what?" to which he answers "Cracks! You have lots of cracks on your head".
Good lord. So obviously I'm a bit worse off then I even thought :)
So my question is .... Ladies who are doing botox - how often do you get it done? I guess what I'm trying to figure out is what kind of a yearly investment I'd be looking at to minimize my "cracks" :)

I haven't taken the botox plunge, but of those I know who have, some get it as often as four times a year, while others only go twice. I think it largely depends on how well you respond to the injections.

Once you get on a regular botox schedule, you don't have to get it done as often. At first, it's about every 3 months, but then your muscles "forget" how to wrinkle and you can go 4, 5, and some people even 6 months without getting touch-ups. Also, if you have a good relationship with your dermatologist, you might be able to get it at a cheaper price, especially if you only go to your derm. But don't forget you shouldn't do botox if you are pregnant or breastfeeding (though I think that's common sense for most people).

Well, thank you all for reminding me why this 31-year old doesn't look in the mirror too closely!

My own formerly creased forehead considers Botox a miracle treatment. I'm on a 1 x 4 month schedule, my forehead is smooth and I still have all of the "expressions" that people seem to think will vanish with the use of Botox. It is $275 each time and well worth it. And fwiw, my mother used to scold me about wrinkling my forehead when I was a young teen - so my creases were pretty well established!

Thanks. I know that Botox is in my future. I was just hoping it wasn't so close! ;)

my dh teases me about wrinkling up my forehead too. hence, the reason i have several wrinkles on my forehead.
those of you who get botox - does the forehead match the rest of your face? i have a few very tiny eye wrinkles and smile lines, and i would think it would look funny to have smooth forehead but some wrinkles elsewhere.
has anyone done restulin (sp?)? that scares me less than botox.

I have done Restylane. I tried it for the creases between the corners of my nose and mouth. Honestly, it wasn't worth it to me, and so I haven't gone back. It cost 3x as much as a round of Botox and was significantly more painful. Also, I was visibly bruised for several days despite taking all the precautions and remedies the doctor recommended. It lasted about five months for me. I think I will reconsider it again in a few years, but at this point it's just not worth it.
