I do not currently have a Costco membership, but a new one opened up fairly close to us. I prefer to buy organic chicken, but I find it so expensive in regular grocery stores. Does anyone know if Costco sells organic chicken and what the price per pound usually is? I'm trying to figure out if it's worth it to buy a membership.

Just an FYI - you can't get everything you find online in the stores.

If I was you, I would go to the store, you can go in for free to browse before getting a membership (and if at anytime you are unhappy with the membership, you can get a refund) and see if they have the chicken in. We just got a membership and not really finding a savings over the grocery store. One thing I see cheaper is the baby formula but that's about it really. Although did get a coupon booklet and going to buy 2 things out of it.

Thanks for posting the link. I generally only buy chicken breasts though, so I guess I'll have to go to the store. I did try to get a one day pass type thing once but the lines at the membership counter were so long that I just left.

It likely depends upon your area. Ours has organic ground beef, and is carrying more and more organic items.

The one in our area does not have organic chicken. And I'm finding that their prices on grocery items aren't any different than grocery stores anyway. Finding a sale at a grocery store is actually cheaper than Costco.

Ours has some organic chicken. Their products vary by store though.

Tyson is actually producing antibiotic/hormone free chicken now. I know it isn't necessarily "organic", but I was glad to be able to buy it at my local grocery store.
