View Full Version : Poll on recent changes/bannings at CC

As requested, here's a good anonymous way for us all to voice our opinion on what would be best for these boards. I know I like coming here to read up on news, gossip, babies & would hate to lose this resource.
But what is more likely to mess things up here? Some would say the horse is dead, while others need more discussion.
I'm only asking about what has already happened in the past. Of course if new stuff changes/more people are banned/weird glitches start up again, this poll is moot.

I do like the idea of bringing the poop forum back!

:D Seriously...that was a fun AND informative forum!
Maybe we should just have a CC Gripes forum, where it's a hands-off free for all in complaining about everything. Then Chit Chat could just go back to being that...I miss the old Chit Chat.

I think there should be a designated area where people discuss it if they want and leave it out of everything else.

Good idea for a poll! I agree with ima, I'd like to see it all in its own separate area.

i say a different forum. keep talking about it, just in its own spot

Seriously, you're a terrible person. And I can say that, because I know you personally.

Horse is dead, move on. Seriously, I think we got all the answers to be had. The issue is respect, and there was none. Everyone needs to make a choice to stay or move on, and leave it at that. I don't think we'll get anywhere going over it again and again.

I think that those whom do not want to discuss it any further, should not click on those threads. But, those that still feel they need to discuss it, need to have some place to do so. If people are forced to prematurely put the issue aside, it will only cause resentment that will fester and grow until it explodes. I don't see what it hurts to allow people to talk about it as long as it is in the proper place.

I personally think the horse is dead, move on. However I do recognize that many people don't feel that way and I'm fine with them continuing to discuss it until their hearts are content.
As for a seperate forum, would there really be that much discussion? There are already a few threads on this, I can't imagine there needing to be more. Are those threads not enough for people who want to keep talking about it?

I think there should be a seperate area for all this talking, complaining, bitching, arguing etc.
I click on a thread because of the original topic and lately all I find is arguments not related to that thread. For someone like myself who doesn't care about all of this drama and just wants to enjoy the board it gets pretty annoying.

ITA with this. If it is a separate forum, those who would like to read threads without the same-ol-same-ol popping up would appreciate it.

couldn't agree more. Its been discussed already...not really sure how many more ways things can be said/discussed. Seems like we are just going round in circles here.
I am not defending any actions at all as I am upset at what happened as well....but at the end of the day, its a message board. Since everything that has happened 3 other message boards have been created so if anyone is still upset about this one and doesn't want to come here I am sure they can find one of the 3 to start posting at. Deja vu anyone?

I personally agree with "the horse is dead - move on", but some users still seem to have some raw feelings about it. So maybe open a specific forum where it can be talked about , so it doesn't keep derailing other threads.

If people want to talk, let them talk. If you don't want to be involved in a discussion about it, don't click on a thread about it.

A separate forum is an idea, but good luck on making people contain there posts to it.
The Katrina forum was about a pretty specific topic. This issue is not really so specific- it's really about the boards as a whole, so it's not surprising that people are going to bring it up in a number of different areas.
Let it die out organically. If the complaining bothers you, ignore it. Complaining back just adds fuel to the fire.

This strikes me as a good rule for message boards in general.
I don't think it's anyone's place to tell someone else that it's time to get over something, nor do I like the micro-organization that tends to go on here, so I say let people post wherever they feel like posting, on whatever topic they choose. If people want to keep rehashing what happened, and considering the run-around we've been getting from admins I can't blame them, then let them keep talking about it. If you don't want to talk about it, don't visit that thread.
Hey, there's a bunch of topics I'm sick of seeing threads about, but I'm not out campaigning to close them down, I just don't click on the threads.

FWIW, I also think setting up a whole forum to discuss things is just going to keep the topic alive longer. If it's going to die out, let it die out in Chit Chat rather then giving it that much more attention in it's own forum.

Or, they could just let the "Questions and Suggestions" forum function properly and handle it there.

My problem with this is that people aren't just keeping it in "those" threads. The snark gets carried over into completely unnecessary places like gossip.

ITA. I'm seeing alot of the same people in all the threads discussing it all over again. Why do we need so many threads on the topic?

Obviously I've missed something here. I mean I know something is different, there seem to be fewer posts and fewer topics but can someone please tell me what has happened?

The most comprehensive explanation can be found here (http://www.constantchatter.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1645490&postcount=71) in the "where did everyone go?" thread. It's about the most accurate explanation you can get without having to research it all yourself.

Horse is dead - move on.
Seriously though, I'm as pissed about everything that happened as the next person. And the only thing that keeps me here currently is because I'm absolutely bored out of my mind. BUT, its pretty obvious that talking about it isn't doing much. Katy isn't going to apologize for what went on - and not much can rectify it.
If people feel like talking about it, they should certainly be able to do so - but it needs to be kept in its own thread. I don't agree with it getting brought up in other threads. If someone doesn't want to talk about it, they don't have to go in that thread. But they shouldn't have to hear (read) about it other threads that are totally unrelated.

I voted for the horse it dead, but I do agree that if others want to continue to discuss it they should have the opportunity.
I think the changes are upsetting to everyone but by now it seems clear that we will not be getting apologies or further expanation, so, hopefully we can move on see what is left as the dust is settling so everyone can make choices about if they want to stay or go.

Most of the people who actually care enough to still have it bother them are allready talking about it in a seperate thread on LJ, so I don't think another one here is necessary. That horse died a few weeks back, nothing is going to change now.

I am not trying to step on any toes but if people are annoyed by with what is going on then why is there a poll and a new thread? While I do agree that it should stay in one area and not go into a completely unrelated thread. There are still some raw emotions with what happened and what is happening.

Other - keep starting more, more, MORE threads to talk about whether we should keep talking about it. ;)
J/K, K - I already voted "horse is dead" a few days ago. But I agree w/ boilermaker's assessment.
