What are 12 year olds in to?

I have a nephew who is turning 12 and I have no idea what kids this age are in to. I need to get a birthday gift soon and I don't want to send money.

Any idea in the new thing that is of interest to 12 year old boys?

Video games, ipods/iTunes, movies. I usually get my nephew (now 15) a GC for Gamestop or iTunes.

in addition to what's mentioned by jimmysgirl, I'd also add skateboarding, guitar hero, professional sports and action and horror movies.

My 12 year old nephews are really into clothes now - Hollister, Aeropostale, Abercombie - as well as itunes gift cards and wii games.

Definitely check out what kind of gadgets he has and if he needs 'accessories', games, etc.

I just gave my nephew an 'experience' - he's really into baseball so we won an auction so he could be Honorary Bat Boy and throw out the opening pitch for our local baseball team (farm team for MLB). He's pretty excited about that.

Blockbuster Gift Packs always go over well w/my nephews too: I pair one of the buckets w/the popcorn in the bottom, a couple packs of candy and a GC to Blockbuster. This is my go-to Christmas Gift for all of them (ranging in age from 10-19)
