Rescue Me

Does anyone else watch Rescue Me? I finally caught my first episode tonight, and I really, really enjoyed it. :)

I'm a huge Dennis Leary fan, and I kept hearing great things about the show, so I finally got my shit together and set the TiVo to record this. I'm so glad I did. It's much different than anything else on TV, which is awesome!

Tonight's episode was so moving to me. I'd love to discuss it with someone else. :)

I love Rescue Me! My DH is a firefighter so he originally turned me onto it. Dennis Leary's character cracks me up. Plus, the guy that plays Franco is pretty darn hot! (that surely doen't hurt the show's watchability!)

Faithful watcher here. I started in the middle of the first season and haven't missed one yet. Never liked Dennis Leary, but love him as Tommy. Very funny, vunerable and strong all at the same time.

So happy he dumped that clingy chick (can't think of her name). Not sure why we didn't see the wife pop up last night, I mean she knows where he works and if my hubby took the kids, that'd be the first place I'd head to find him.

It was sooo good to see Trisha from the soaps, I hope they show more of her, she's so beautiful.

Rescue Me is a riot!! The dialogue is great. I can't believe they can get away with what they do on that show.

I love this show! I think it is written really well and the acting is superb.

(Of course, it doesn't hurt that most of the actors playing the firefighters are HOT! Especially the actor who plays Sean Garrity, I think his name is Steven Pasquale IRL).

One thing I find really interesting is how the thoughts of Denis Leary come to fruition in his visions. Sometimes I find the Jesus/Mary Magdalene scenes bordering on inappropriate (esp. when Tommy called Jesus a p*ssy). But, then again, I remember it's just a TV show.

Faithful watcher number 2! Love this show. FH and I watch it every time it's on. We've watched all of them, couldn't resist it when we saw the previews for the first season.

I know there is a longer Rescue Me thread out there somewhere but I couldn't find it! Anyway, it starts up again on Wednesday. I can't wait! (although the People magazine review kind of ruined any suspense for me).

The building in which Leary is filmed fighting in the elevator with his dead cousin was built by my hubby (he was the PM). :D Also, the "apartment" door that Leary knocks on, is actually the door to the fire stairs. :rolleyes:
