Usually I change the sheets every Sunday, but sometimes I get so busy, and skip a week. I started to feel guilty, then wondered how often other people change their sheets.

So, a just for fun poll, how often do you change the sheets? :)

I voted once a week, but it's more like somewhere between once a week and once every two weeks. We don't have a schedule for anything, so things just get done when it "feels" like the right time to do them.

I do them whenever I think about it or something gets on them. Usually every 2 weeks or so.

I have good intentions to change them every week, but that rarely happens. In reality it's more like every 3 weeks, which grosses me out. Tomorrow the sheets WILL get changed!

Maybe every 2 weeks but we shower before bed....

Once a week. DH is a furnace at nights and sweats like mad. Plus, my facial care products really gunk up my pillow case. Ugh... we sound like dirty, sweaty people... I swear we aren't-- honest! :o

Once a week. And my hub does the laundry....ahhh the joys of having a two hour commute!

I'm supposed to do it every week for my allergies, but sometimes I forget, so it's more like every two weeks.

Our cleaning lady does them every other week...between times I'd love clean sheets every day - but sometimes I change them 1 or 2 times and sometimes I get busy and it doesn't happen at all. I voted every 2 weeks since that is a guarantee - but I like to do it far more often.

Once a week. Every now and then, it might stretch to 1.5 weeks if we're gone over the weekend, but never longer than that. I gotta have clean, fresh sheets!

Once a week, usually every Saturday morning. If we go out of town on a Friday, I might change them that Friday morning. That way when we get back I don't have to worry about changing the sheets and we have a fresh set to sleep on.:)

oh man, i'm a SLACKER! i only wash them when i THINK about how long it's been. horrible, actually.
i would say once a month but if something gets on the sheets or there is too much dog hair that is noticeable i'll change them.

i really don't know what my problem is cuz i LOVE sleeping on fresh sheets, i really should do it more often! arghhh

About every two week for us - all of us bath/shower before bed so I don't feel like they ever get really dirty.

I changed mine yesterday and was just thinking, "I wonder how often other people change their sheets...I'll have to post a poll on CC" and today, here it is! I voted every 2 weeks, but it's really just whenever I think about it, which usually averages to about every 2 weeks.

Hmm... to be honest, it's probably every 3 and sometimes even 4 weeks. I hate stripping the bed. I hate lugging the sheets down two flights to the basement to the washer and I hate having to lug everything back up two flights of stairs to our bedroom to remake the bed. In the winter, I'm so bundled up, the only part of my bare skin that touches the sheets are my hands and face.

Once a week, but maybe a bit longer if we've spent more nights at DBF's house. Or a bit shorter if we've had more *ahem* quality time at my place ;)

I'm such a slacker. Usually we change ours every 4 weeks. We'd do it sooner if we noticed that they started smelling funny or something, which they never do. Or if there's some...ahem...OTHER reason they need to be changed... ;)

Me either. I don't have set timeline of when they go in the wash. I wash sheets and towels at the same time (not the same load), and I usually wash them when we start using beach towels in the bathroom. Unless we are having a sex-fest, it could be a couple weeks before I get around to changing them. ;)

wow, I am the WORST housekeeper so I am actually suprised that I am in the minority here ;) I change them every 3 days! and Blankets are done every week (if not more).

This is only because I saw an Oprah years ago about bed bugs and mites. Scared the bejeezus outta me and I freak at the idea of creepy crawlies even in the tiniest form...lol!

The rest of the house looks like hell, but atleast I've got clean sheets:rolleyes:

I change them every week, generally on Fridays, sometimes it can be more, we have a dog, so we get a lot of his fur on the bed or his dirty paw prints.

Funny- we just got new bedding and I was thinking about posting this poll.

I *hate* re-making the bed but I love fresh sheets so I try for about every 2 weeks. I want to get this in our cleaning lady's rotation, but the majority of the time I just wash the sheets that are on the bed and put them right back on, so I haven't worked out a good system for her yet.

At least once a week, sometimes more often depending upon, err, ....circumstances.

Probably about once every four weeks. :o:o:o

Our bed is a huge PITA to make. The king mattress is so deep that I only have one set of sheets that fit, so I have to wash them in and put them back on in the same day. The mattress is very heavy to pick up, and then, in order for the sheets to stay on, I need to use those clips that help keep them on: http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14808051&RN=404
On top of that, we have a sleigh bed, so the headboard and footboard make it difficult. It honestly takes about 20 minutes to put the sheets on.

In the winter - yeah, every 3 wk or so. I don't like running the dryer, and we wear all kind of layers to bed anyway. Compounding with that is that we rarely sleep together, and the bed doesn't get used much, except for the cat.

I'm in the every 4 weeks camp :o

I also love fresh sheets and love that first night after I do wash them and every time I do I always say to myself 'why don't I do this more often' but now that our loads of laundry have doubled with a child, I hate adding to how many loads I do.

Should we have a poll for towels? For us it is every week. I do have friends that do it every day.

We change ours once a week. If I could it would be every 2-3 days, because I love the feeling of clean sheets.

When I was younger I hardly every changed my sheets! The thought of it makes me a little grossed out!

My idea is to wash them every 2 weeks, which is what I voted for. Depending on the craziness of life at a given time, it may sometimes be 3 weeks. But on the average anywhere between 2&3 weeks. In the summer, I try to do it a little more.

In the winter once a week, in the summer two times a week.

ETA: And bedsheets are the only item I wash in hot water because I saw the same Oprah show as a PP and it skeeved me out!

When I was working out of the house, my intention was to change them every week, but occasionally I'd forget and go every 2 weeks or so.

Now that I'm a SAHM, our sheets are changed every monday, like clockwork.

Every week like clockwork, and always with hot water.

I have extremely bad allergies, as in daily hives and when I dont wash the sheets they get really bad and cover me from forehead to toes!

2-3 times a week. I love fresh sheets!! And considering I spend more time lying in them than I do any of my clothing I think they should be changed a lot.

I also change our towels 2-3 times a week.

hehe. Ditto. I am surprised to read the responses here.

At least once a week, cleaning lady does them. I will switch them out between visits if I feel like it & have the time. I also
love fresh sheets.

I shoot for every two weeks. I need to get on a better rotation, because I also usually just wash the ones that are on the bed, because I never catch up with my linen laundry. I think I'll make laundry my big project for tomorrow...

I'm an every week girl, myself. I once had a college roommate who went half a semester before washing her sheets! And this was in a dorm room, so she ate on her bed, had friends sit there, etc.... GROSS

GROSSHalf a semester? I would have taken that. I had a gross gross dorm roommate and I don't think she ever changed her sheets. And she had quite a sweating problem as well. It was so so so gross.

Every week. We have a stinky little puppy who manages to sneak into the bed every night so it's necessary. Not to mention the body tang that manages to build up. :)

I do laundry on Sunday. I fold everything while I watch my Sunday TV. After I put everything away I strip the bed and change the sheets.

Does anyone remember that commercial (for Clorox Bleach, I think) with the disgusting, oily sheets? I used to have to look away...

I'm so glad I washed my sheets today!

I'm afraid to answer this question. Hahaa! Hmm, I have intentions of changing them every 2 weeks. Does that count? I guess to be honest I change them when I get around to it. Not often enough!

Kanga
01-22-2008, 08:40 AM
When I feel like it which is probably not often enough. Does it count that flylady tells me to do it every Monday and we have one of those hypoallergenic zip mattress cover thingies?

Even though I don't change the sheets as often as I should, towels are done every other day. Otherwise dh complains that they smell musty but I think it's all in his head.

I am lucky to have a cleaning service and they change our sheets every two weeks when they come. If they cancel for some reason I must admit I get lazy and often don't change them myself :o

I don't change the sheets.

Trick answer. I have a housekeeper, who changes the sheets once a week (more often only if the cats have been causing myhem on the sheets, which has only happened once, to my knowledge.)
