Happy Birthdays to those I've missed.
We've had quite a week. A frustrating GI appt for DS (didn't learn anything that we didn't already know so it was a wasted trip) and then we get rear-ended after the appt. The idiot who hit us took off after the accident without giving us any information. Thankfully we did get his tag number. No major injuries except for whiplash. I'm having to go for therapy because of it. Our vehicle had mostly mechanical damage and a little physical damage.
Jenah ~ I'll make the changes. Sorry for the mistake.
Kat ~ Congrats!
dpangel ~ Yay on the walking. Glad it's you in MN now and not me. We've had a few days of very cold temps with windchills near/below zero and that's been enough for me. We're suppose to get dumped with snow tonight and tomorrow.

Kat - Congratulations!!!
Well we're back from MN and boy am I glad to be back in TX, it's much warmer here!!
Unfortunately our flight home was an absolute disaster. We were scheduled to leave at 7:30 but didn't begin boarding until after 9pm. So you can only imagine how a tired, cranky baby was on a very turbulent flight, so not fun. Now if we can just get back to our old sleep pattern we'll be great!!

Meri - I'm so sorry about the accident.. I'm glad you are ok... What is wrong with people these days. That good that you got his plate number.. now they will get charged with laving the scene of a crime.
Danea - Glad you guys made it home, sorry the trip back wasn't as nice. I hope Hailey is back to her old sleep patterns.
WBV today. 3 shots. Heights 30.5in (90%), Weight 20.4oz (only 25%) and Head was 18.6inches. So she being put on Pedisure because she's not gaining weight like she should. But she was sick since Halloween off and on, so that could be a major part of it. We have switched 100% to Soy Milk, but they tell me I should be giving her Vit.D milk. So we'll see. Well we're finally cruisin now... And just yesterday she's pullin herself up on things.
Foods #2 and #3's plus table foods too.
She's wearing size 12 -18 months for clothes.
and size 3 in shoes.
Babbling like never before.
Still kinda co-sleeping but we got yelled at for that too today... ugh.... so I think we might be putting her in her own room now. It's just SOSOOOOOOOOO far away... all the way upstairs and we're down here. but maybe she'll sleep better up there. No more daddy snoring.. lol so that's about all here.
Her party was a success, however I was so busy with everything I FORGOT to put her cute Birthday hat on... LMBO. I spent 10$ on that hat and it just sat there in the corner. DUH. Anyhoo... Have a great night everyone.
Hugs & Loves

Happy Bday Zoey, Nathan and tomorrow to Aiden and Owen!!!
Meri, I posted in your LJ, but you are in my thoughts. hope everything gets straightened out quickly.
Danea, brrrr. I wish I was in Tx this week. The ironic thing is that my business trip to Dallas was this weekend and it got cancelled. :(
I have a walked right around the corner. She took many steps today. Enough to figure out what she was doing. So I imagine the walking will begin soon. She was soooo excited to realizr what she had done. I was so proud :D

Happy 1st b-day to Zoey, Nathan, Aiden & Owen!!!!
E's princess: Sorry to hear about the weight issues. I'd venture to guess that Sophie weights about the same, if not a little less. Her Peds has never made a big deal about her weight though. We'll see what he says at her 1 year visit. I was also thinking of putting her on soy milk b/c she doesn't tolerate dairy.
I can't believe Sophie is turning 1 in 20 days. It just doesn't seem possible. I'm planning to make a practice cake this weekend, so I'll have to post pics.

Wow a new thread!
Well we turned Mikey forward facing. He outgrew the rear facing weight, we are hoping to get a little more out of this seat, but his shoulders are at that stupid top slot.
We have started a little milk now and Mikey loves it! I am so happy since it was going to be that or formula, he was getting so hungry and mom just wasn't cutting it. He is less interested so he is only nursing a few times a day. I guess I won't need to wean him.

1.) Do you want to continue the WBV stats? I like it
2.) Do you want to continue to have a list of babies by their birthdates? I like this too!
3.) Anything else want added/removed?I dont think so
Oh my gosh, I went looking for this thread and realized we are now in the toddler forum!!! *sob* Where did my little babies go????
Thanks for the birthday wishes for Aidan and Owen!! I cannot believe they are already one year old. I posted a whole mess of photo's of their first birthday party in the first birthday thread. We did a western theme and I think it turned out pretty cute!! Here's a pic of them eating their cupcakes...Owen downed the whole thing in no time. Aidan was a little pickier about it, but somehow ended up messier. :p
http://i165.photobucket.com/albums/u49/mcpeter77/Picture047.jpg?t=1202400870
They are both doing so great. They're pulling up on everything, and Owen just stood by himself not holding on to anything for a few seconds yesterday!! So that was pretty exciting. Owen says mama (me) and baba (bottle) with purpose, but Aidan doesn't really seem to have any meaning behind his babbling so far. They are both eating table food like champs, but we still don't have them on a sippy. I'm off to investigate sippy cups this weekend. Ashley didn't give us any trouble on the sippy, so I'm not quite sure how to go about convincing them to use it... I've heard good things about the Nuby cup and then ones with straws?? You think I wouldn't be so clueless about this, but I am.
Oh, and I'm over on LJ now after all the CC brouhaha...I have a couple of you friended but I don't know anyone else's LJ name...if anyone wants a new friend add me and I'll add you back. My username is sage_77.

Hey there! Happy birthday to all the kiddies who turned one so far! I still can't believe it.
DS had his party last Saturday. I posted pics in the First Birthday Thread. We went with a rockstar theme.
Here are some pics of our little guy in his rocker gear and spiked up hair
http://abayafong.phanfare.com/show_image.aspx?album_id=566454§ion_id=797750&hmi_id=37098539&image_version=6&rend=WEB_SMALLhttp://abayafong.phanfare.com/show_image.aspx?album_id=566454§ion_id=797750&hmi_id=37098572&image_version=6&rend=WEB_SMALL
He did great the whole time until he fell and smacked his head on a door jamb under DH's supervision.
We're slowly moving DS onto whole milk from formula. He'll be on milk completely once we run out of formula. I trying to switch him to a sippy permanently as well. He takes to a sippy okay but I noticed that he doesn't drink as much. Also, about halfway through his milk, instead of swallowing, he'll start letting the liquid run right out of his mouth. I hate using a sippy when we're out because he gets soaking wet. Anyone else have this problem?
Nothing else new is going on, he started taking steps just before Christmas and began walking right after New Year's. DS still has 4 teeth but I suspect another one to appear soon because of the excessive drooling since his birthday. It's a little hard to look in there because everytime I stick a finger in his mouth, he bites down very, very hard. He literally leaves marks.
Congrats to the RO's!

Happy Birthday Colin! Babae, you did a fabulous job with his party. SO original and soo cute.
And Happy Birthday to Daphne, Cole and Emma as well!!
For the sippy cup, DD does the same thing. She will drink some of the water (I haven't done any BM in the cup yet), then just let it fill up her mouth and drip all over. I'm going to introduce milk in a sippy after she is one, but I figure it'll take a few weeks or so for her to be completely off bottles.
And I hear you on the biting. It hurts!!

02-10-2008, 09:47 PM
boilermaker - Thanks! I really wanted to do so much more with the party theme but I just didn't have as much time as I thought. It didn't help that my boss has been on jury duty for over 2 months and I had to take over his supervisory duties while he's gone. That gave me no time to plan the party at work.;)
It's also good to hear that DS is doing things just as normal as everyone else's DCs are.

babae- Colin is too cute!! I love his outfit. DS does the same thing with his sippy. I usually only give him water and milk out of it when we are at home. I just take his shirt off and let him go to town. I think part of the problem is that are baby's are teething and it feels good for them to chew on the spout. Cole is teething so bad he's even been chewing on the nipple to his bottles. He bites on anything and everything.
Carrie- How cute is P! I love her touchdown pose!!!!

PrincessCJ - Thanks! DS is definitely biting down on the spouts. I can barely pull the sippy out of his mouth because of that.

Happy Valentine's Day!!
Have a great party Ladybug!
I can't believe we have a 1 year old :p. We had a fun party last weekend--a bit overwhelming but I think he had a good time (except he hated the idea of cake and everyone staring at him). He started walking 2 weeks ago and is going a little farther each day with lots of crash landings.
Eek..our babies are turning into toddlers...and the tantrums are already more intense.

Happy Birthdays to all the kiddos I missed!!
We still have a few weeks until the Big 1 which means I need to get my butt in gear!! I have everything picked out so now it just needs to be purchased! Oh and the house needs to be deep cleaned!
Speaking of tantrums, I didn't think they started this early, but oh boy do we have a drama Queen on our hands. She sure knows how to throw a little fit to try and get her way!
AF - I think I finally got a real PPAF, but it's lasted almost 2 weeks. A part of me is thinking this can't be normal but yet I don't know what to expect now having an IUD. I figure if it's not gone by Monday (17 days) I'll call the Dr. Anyone else have a funky first AF?

More birthdays!!! Happy birthday to all the kiddos.
Ah, the tantrums. We have a drama queen as well. It is so hard not to laugh at her when she throws a tantrum. The first couple of times, she hit her head pretty hard on the floor, so now she drops to the floor and slowly lowers her head down. So cute. But for me, the worst are the diaper change tantrums. She really just wants to be naked and it drives me crazy.
Danea, I'm right with you on the party stuff. And the cleaning. Yuck. As for AF, can't help you there. I'm hoping to get lucky and get a few more months off.

Jenah ~ I don't want you to think that I was ignoring you. I haven't been here in a while. I've made the changes to both threads. I don't know why it didn't show up the last time I made the changes so hopefully this time they will take effect.
Kat ~ Would you like to be added to the RO list? Let me know.
Jen ~ I'll resend you the login information.
In the future if you need some updates done and they haven't been done in a timely manner, please send one of us mods a PM. Thanks.

Happy Birthday to all that we have missed! I can't believe how fast time has flown by. I love all the parties.
Zoey's was at the end of January and went really well. I swear I posted all of this, but after going through both this thread and the old one, I guess not! We had about 30 people and managed to "finish" the play room remodel the morning of the party (I was covering the cushions for the built-in seating the morning of the party and painting trim as well... I think I might need to be admitted to the loony bin) and everyone appeared to have a good time.
Zoey loved her smash cake and would have eaten the whole thing if her daddy hadn't taken it away from her. :) It was carrot cake and how can you not love that? I dabbled in cake decorating for the first time and was pleased with how it turned out. I am not going pro or anything, but it was fun!
My pregnancy is going well and I am feeling good. Z and I both had the stomach flu this past week, but are recovering nicely. Thank goodness that is over! Here are her one-year stats:
Height- 27.75" (10th percentile)
Weight- 17.4 lbs (almost on the charts!)
Head- can't remember the measurement, but 75th percentile! What can I say, she has a big brain!
The Dr. is not concerned about her weight. Yeah, she is small, but she isn't tall either and proportionally is good. My Dr. isn't too hypersensitive about that, but I suppose if we were 90th percentile for height and below the chart for weight that would be an issue, but only just over 10% difference isn't blowing any body's skirt up!
Here are some recent photos:

Congrats to all the ROs! I can't believe how many of you are taking the plunge again.
Everyone's kids are so cute at their first birthday parties! Looks like everyone did a great job.
Just curious, how many teeth does your DC have? DS currently has 7 and I'm starting to wonder if he isn't trying to work on some molars.
All the birthday pictures are so cute!! I can't believe our babies are already one year old...crazy how fast time flies.
And CONGRATS to all the RO's!!! Wow, so exciting!! I don't think another baby is in the cards for us. My DH is 100% done. I still entertain the thought of having one more, but even if I could get DH to agree I wouldn't want another one until the twins are at least 3 or 4.
Teeth - Aidan and Owen both have their two bottom teeth, but that's it. Their top two front teeth are coming in, but it is taking FOREVER. My kids are the latest teethers....Ashley was the same way.

Congrats to all the RO's, exciting times ahead!!
Teeth - She has 5, two bottom and three top with a forth top possibly in the works.
So last night H had an allergic reaction to peanut butter. She didn't quite ingest it b/c she spit it right out but she managed to rub it all over her face and possibly in her eye. Needless to say DH freaked out (he was the one who tried to feed it to her) and she ended up with little welts and a very red face.
She couldn't stop rubbing her face as I'm sure it was itching and DH wasn't helping me calm her down so I sent him out for some Benadryl. When he returned she wasn't freaking out anymore and playing like normal so that helped ease his mind. He was for sure we'd have to take her to the hospital or something but luckily it wasn't that serious.
I'm not entirely convinced she's allergic to peanuts b/c she eats my nuggets from Chick-fil-a and those are cooked in peanut oil. He swears he didn't give her more than a pea sized amount so she must have rubbed it in her eye. It was still a little scary so we kept an eye on her all night just in case.

Danea- Scary!!! Glad to hear Hailey is okay!
QOTD- Cole has 8 teeth right now (4 top 4 bottom) and I can see the whites of 2 more.
Last night was probably the worst night he has had since he was a newborn. His teeth are cutting through and he was in so much pain. He didn't nap well yesterday and day care called me at 11:30 to tell me he had a fever and I needed to come get him. His dad picked him up and took care of him for a few hours before bringing him to my office. I took him home and he was in great spirits, but chewing on everything. I gave him a bath at his usual time, but instead of the typical 15 minutes it takes to get him to sleep (dressed, bottle, and rocking) it took closer to 45 minutes. THen he woke up at 2:30 screaming in pain, I calmed him back down. He then woke up again at 4:30 and wouldn't go back to sleep until 5:30. He was biting anything he could get in his mouth and when I rubeed the orajel on it calmed him for a few minutes, but once he salivated it all back out of his mouth he was in pain again. I don't even think the Motrin made a difference to him. Poor little guy, I felt terrible for him and I was sick with a cold so I was being irritable. This morning he seemed fine so hopefully he's back to his normal sleeping schedule tonight!!!!

Danea, How scary. I am glad Zoey is doing fine with peanut butter, I wouldn't know what to give her for lunch if I couldn't give her a pb&j! That is strange that she doesn't react to peanut oil, but the peanut butter caused that reaction. I would wait six months and then try again (when your husband isn't home) but have the benedryl ready! Kids can grow out of those allergies so fast! That being said, I am certainly not a doctor!
Candice- what a rough night, sorry about that. Zoey has made her way through 7 teeth (4 top, 3 bottom with one more on the way) with little to no trouble on my part. I used to check for more teeth daily, but now I am likely to bring back a bloody stump as opposed to a finger, so I can't check as often. The kid has a killer bite! A friend of mine had a heck of a time with teething (you met Brooke) and I hear molars are the worst, so I am not looking forward to that! I hope Cole is doing better now...
We are doing well here. We heard the baby's heartbeat again today and all looks well. I can't believe I only have one more one month appt. mid April before I start going every 2-3 weeks. Time is just flying by and I am going to have another baby before I know it! Thank goodness Zoey is proving to be a very independent child who entertains herself very well most of the time. I am sure we will have some issues of wanting mommy when the baby is feeding or something, but we will get past it I am sure!
QOTD- What are you feeding your little ones for lunch and dinner? We are pretty good with oatmeal or malt o'meal in the mornings with fruit, but I am starting to get bored with what I feed her for lunch and dinner. She won't eat spaghetti, but loves Mac and cheese (I do the organic so I don't feel like such a bad mother, but I am sure I will stop eventually) and I give her pb&j sandwiches cut into fun shapes (probably more for me, than her), she loves stove top stuffing and I try to dice up meat really small to put into that. I also give her quesadillas, which she loves, but I feel bad giving her bread and cheese all the time. She needs more!
Sometimes we have yogurt but right now she has a cold and so I try to cut out milk to reduce the mucus during that time, otherwise her nose flows like a river! She doesn't do well with meat, it just stays in her mouth and she eventually spits it out, or I take it out after 10 minutes! I always try to give her a veggie and a fruit with lunch and dinner and a fruit with breakfast but the main dishes need some variety! What do you all make for them? She doesn't need or want baby food anymore, so that is out! So, any suggestions you have or just tell me what your little one eats for ideas!

rancherwife - I think I'll just stay here on the edge and watch all you who have taken the plunge., thank you very much. :p
dpangel - So sorry about her allergic reaction to pb. DS #1 is allergic to pb, but he can have things made in peanut oil, but I know there are some people out there who can't even have that. Pb allergic can be one of the scariest ones out there, so I'd check with the doctor before trying pb again.
PrincessCJ - Sorry he had such a crappy night sleeping. Teething is just horrible. I hope those molars break through quickly for him.
bombera - Wow, so hard to believe you'll have baby #2 in just a few short months.
QOTD - Breakfast is normally either waffle, pancakes or oatmeal. I'm trying to teach him how to use a spoon so I make thick oatmeal.
Lunch/Dinner - I try to get all 5 food groups in...try being the key word. Reality is I'm good if I can get 3 or 4 in him.
Bread - Normally a piece of ww bread or a roll
Fruit - He is a fruit fanatic. Bananas, berries of any kind, pears, pineapples, applesauce
Veggie - green beans, blackeyed peas, mixed veggies
Dairy - milk, cheese, yogurt, smoothie loaded with fruit
Meat - meatballs, grilled cheese with bits of meats in them, bites of whatever meat we are having. He loves the rib meat and chicken and lasagna.
I am getting too lazy, so they kids pretty much eat whatever we are eating because I don't want to be a short order cook anymore. :) Last night we had chicken burritos, so the kids got ate that as well. Whole wheat wrap, lots of beans, cheese, and chicken. We opened up a can of pineapple chunks and we were set.
aloha
03-13-2008, 12:16 PM
Teeth: S has 7 teeth with 4 uppers and 3 lower.
Food: He's just getting in the groove with finger food so we're still mostly doing single ingredients. He eats mandarin oranges, diced peaches, pears, blueberries, black/pinto beans, toast with butter/cheese, grilled cheese, tomato soup, waffles, pancakes, french toast, yogurt, applesauce, corn, peas, carrots, orzo, quesadillas, dried pineapple. We haven't tried much in the way of finger food meat and he's not into pasta much yet. We're slowly moving in the table food direction. I'm not interested in being a short order cook either jenjen!
dpangel-Allergic reactions can be so scary. I think we're going to wait a while before introducing nuts since we have allergies in the family (not to nuts but other foods).
Princess-I hope Cole is back to sleeping. Teething can be such a mess--it definitely is for us. I'm not looking forward to the molars.
Bombera-You sure are getting close. Lots of newborn snuggles to look forward to!

Wow Michelle you are getting so close!!! Cole was snuggled up on my stomach (hands and feet curled up under his stomach) that night he wasn't feeling well and I just kept thinking I can't believe a year ago he fit in there... He is huge now, I just can't get over how fast they grow up!!!

CJ, I had a very similar thought this morning while nursing DD. How on earth did she fit in there!!!
Danea, that is scary abotu Hailey. I'd definitely be very cautious with pb as that allergy can be so scary.
teeth - she has her 4 top, 2 bottom and 2 top molars are currently coming through. Last night was the first night all week she slept normally without any tylenol.
Food - Paty is definitely slower than average on food. She still shows very little interest in it and doesn't eat much. I am able to give her a fruit puree and veggie puree everyday without a problem, so I do that. Then I try anything i can for her to eat. She'll take a few bites of almost anything but won't eat enough of anything to call it a "meal". Some of her favorites are:
- grapes (quartered)
-turket meatballs
-pasta shells w/ spag sauce (not a fan of mac & cheese)
-WW toast w butter
-brocolli
- graham crackers (she'll eat a whole one...it's the only thing I can count on her eating)
- tomato chunks
-apple slices in a mesh feeder, she doesn't like to actually eat them (too hard I would guess?)
I figure she won't go to kindergarten eating purees, so I try to be patient. but feeding time is not super fun for us.

Thanks for the food advice everybody. After reading what you feed your kiddos, I realized that I do feed her more than Mac and cheese and pb&j, I read your lists and was shaking my head, yes, yes, we eat that- so maybe I am doing better than I thought. I really do have a good eater on my hands so I can't complain. I am doing more and more of just giving her what we are having, but if we have steak, I have to make adjustments! She loves roasted potatoes and today we discovered she loves red peppers, just raw! Too funny.
I don't know if I mentioned we are weaned here! We have been for a few weeks. I was expecting it to be much harder, but she really led it. I wasn't quite ready for it, but I would have been soon with the new baby coming, but she just started dropping nursings and when she was able to ask for it (baby signs) I only fed her when she did. So, slowly we got down to just about every other day in the AM when she remembered. Then I just started getting her up and feeding her breakfast right away and it had been a week since we nursed. She asked for it and I told her "all done." She replied "all done" and I said yes. She stuck out her bottom lip and pouted and I offered her a sippy cup of water and she forgot all about it! That was that! Not too bad at all... :) It is a relief to be done well before #2 arrives, that is for sure, but I do miss that time together. She doesn't snuggle much now... So sad :(
Thanks again for the replies!

Hi Moms-
Congrats on all the RO's!!! I'm a bit jealous, but it only lasts for a moment. I do believe we are done here. Although DH and I said we'd discuss it when the IUD comes out in 4 years.
teeth Well, Ben FINALLY cut some teeth. He has his top 4, bottom 2 and working molars. He so much fun .
food There really isn't much my animal won't eat. We found he doesn't care much for blueberries or strawberries. And he won't eat anything he can't chew. He'll tolerate yogurt, but only bites with fruit chunks in them. And when it comes to finger foods or anything off a spoon/fork...he either has to put it in his mouth himself or needs to assist.
walking The boy is exclusively walking. All over. And he's given himself a black eye in doing it. And he LOVES to take his vest, put the armhole over his big head and let the rest cover his face and then walk around. He giggles like a maniac when he does it. We watch him carefully, but don't really intervene unless we feel he's going to get hurt. We have a ranch house and we keep it pretty childproofed. He bounces off the wall, plops on his butt, laughs a big belly laugh, pulls himself up and starts again.
We took Ben and DD yesterday to see Ralph. Ralph is a children's musician if you aren't familiar. Much like the Wiggles, but not so creepy. His songs are very Jimmy Buffet style, but most have lots of arm and feet motions. Super fun. Ben danced and danced and danced. When the music stopped, he pounded on the plexiglass (we were on a balcony) and hollered all bloody murder. He was not happy that the music was gone.
His first birthday was a success. I bought a cake mold at Williams Sonoma that had 8 different vintage cars. We decorated them up all cute with candies and then put them on top of different colored frosted round cakes. The round cakes were probably 4-5 inches in diameter. It was SOOO cute.
Ben's 1 yr check up he was 25 pounds. DH took him and that was all he could remember. And Ben is exclusively on Soy milk. He was vomitting up whole milk minutes after he'd drink it. The only problem with the soy....he's got terrible diahrrea. DH asked the ped about it and the ped said that sometimes kids bodies change and their stools become loose and that's how they are. Well, truthfully, I'm starting to get kinda concerned. Ben had nice firm stools and maybe only 1 every day. Sometimes every other day. Now he's got poopsplosions 2-3 times every day. Those of you who are on lj know what has happened. My dad passed away earlier this month so I've been dealing with that.

I just realized I hadn't posted about the food.
Reece pretty much eats whatever we do. However, in the morning, if I'm feeling lazy and Landon's just eating a waffle or something, then he still gets the Gerber breakfasts, which he still loves. Otherwise, he'll have toast/eggs, etc. w/ Landon. But for lunch and dinner, it's whatever we're having, and he's done pretty well with it all. Which is nice. :)

Sorry for not posting for so long! Malcolm got really, really ill from the flu and had to be hospitalized for a bit in February. He went down so quickly- whatever is going around is vicious! My poor DH- as soon as M was released I got really sick with it and he had to drive me back to the hospital. I am crossing my fingers the worst of it passed and that everyone else is staying well! :)
M lost a fair amount of weight from illness but I am happy to report he is gaining it back. He has finally decided he likes food! Big yaay! His dairy allergies have gotten truly severe though. One of the twins in his class accidentally splashed his arm with a little bit of formula, and despite a thorough washing by the teacher, he immediately broke out in hives and started wheezing. He has an Epi-pen now. We're almost completely dairy-free at home since he can have a reaction if he even gets trace amounts of dairy from a fork or a cutting board, etc.
Favorite foods: organic chicken sausage, home-made navy bean soup, cherry tomatoes, just peas (freeze dried), bananas, Morningstar vegan Grillers, sweet potato spears, roasted red-skinned potatoes and ham. I tried hard boiled eggs over Easter but he didn't seem that interested. We're avoiding nuts and berries at the advice of the allergist! He's skipped sippy cups completely and has gone straight to a straw.
He's got about 9 teeth, and I think the molars are coming. The teeth seem to come two at a time and no one gets any sleep for about a week before they pop out.
He's already 14 months (!!) and weighs over 21 pounds and is 30 inches tall.
Is anyone going through a growth spurt right now? I swear he eats more than me some days!

La Bride- Good to hear from you, sorry about M's illness, that is so scary. I'm glad he is getting back to normal. DS has been eating a ton lately. Last night he ate 1/2 my pork chop, 1/2 my potato and more than 1/2 of my green beans. It's a great diet plan for me!!! I can't believe M's allergy is so bad that is terrible, hopefully he will outgrow it soon!
USAF- Sorry again for your loss.
Easter- I will upload some pics and get them posted soon! I hope everyone had an enjoyable day!

Labride: So sorry to hear about Malcolm. When these little guys get sick, they go fast. Glad that he's feeling better though. Hope you feel better soon.
Fav foods: Trader Joes dairy free pancakes, applesauce, oatmeal, cheese, fruit (cantelope, strawberries, watermelon, mandarin oranges, bananas), turkey meatballs, carrots, veggie corn dogs, spaghetti, mac & cheese. Not too crazy about eggs at all, no matter how they're cooked. We've also been able to introduce dairy back into Sophie's diet and she's beem great.

Now that this thread doesn't show up on new posts, I don't keep up with it so well.
I love the Easter pictures. I unfortunately don't have any of Paty. I somehow managed to screw up and delete the Easter pics off the memory card and computer at the same time.
So, now that our little ones are into mimicing, are there any funny stories to share? DD hasn't done anything yet, but the other morning she picked up the dog bowl of water we keep in our bathroom and as I lunge at her to grab it, I go "oh shit, oh wait, oh crap, damn that doesn't work either." John was laughing at me as I tried to come up with something clean to say. I guess I need to work on that :)
But boy does she love water. I need to get her a water table for outside, but in the meantime, the dog bowls work...

Boiler- What a cute photo! The dog bowl is just her height. I often find Zoey with her hands in the dog bowl while our dog is trying to eat. I am surprised he tolerates her doing that, but he never ceases to amaze me with how patient he is with her.
Mimmicking- I do have a funny story like Boiler's but it was when she was much younger, but I was still paranoid about it then. I kept telling my husband that he can't swear around her and so obviously I have to watch the things I say too, so one day we were driving and I said- "Oh- that guy is such a j-ass!" My husband and I laughed our butts off about how I sensored the word that was fine and still managed to cuss... Oh well- we are working on it. I rarely swear, but my husband is really having to check himself!
Ladybug- Great minds think alike! And, you have to love Target! I found it for $7! I love a great deal and it was so cute...

Reece is growing, running, talking, laughing...just a fun/happy boy! Loves playing outside and getting dirty. Our bath water at night is sooo dirty these days. ;)
I'm 16 weeks and find out what this baby is 5/22. I'm thinking another boy...but who knows.

Hi ladies! How is everyone? We are doing well here. Cole has been sick with ear infections and his asthma, but he is still in a fantastic mood. I love this age, he is soo much fun! I have no idea what he is saying, but he talks non-stop. The only words I can make out are ball, momma, dadda, what's that, no, onky (monkey), orsey (horsey)... he is so sweet with giving momma kisses and hugs.
I am going to Mexico next week and it will be my first trip away from him...I'm excited and nervous at the same time!!!
For my records: Cole is now up to 26 pds and 32 inches!

Hey ladies,
It has been quiet around here. Everyone else must have a kiddo like mine. Whenever I sit at the computer all I hear is "up! up! up!" and when I do pick her up all she wants to do is pull everything out of the desk drawers. Fun, fun fun!
I am 34 weeks here. I can't believe that I am going to have 2 of these running around before I know it. Zoey has been on a food strike lately and only wants to eat fruit. Not fun, but I think I am winning that battle, slowly but surely.
I am not at all ready for baby #2. There is still so much to do, but that is the way I was last time and everything worked out fine!
My sister had her baby on April 10th. She had a little girl they named Juliette. Zoey and I went to Denver this past week to visit her. My midwife said I could go, but after that, I had to stay home! I was really far to pregnant to travel and I was exhausted after a week away from home. Zoey woke up every day at 5 am saying "momma, eat!" so not a lot of rest for old momma!
It was great to see my sister and my mom was there too, but I am so glad to be home.
Okay, Zoey is crying for momma and is ready for bed so I am going to run, but I hope everyone is doing well. I think of you all often, even though I don't post much!

I will tell you the same thing I told her, I would have loved to see you have 3 boys because you do them so well, but I am thrilled that you get to have a little girl! They are so precious. :)
We are getting close around here. I had my appt with the midwife today and I am glad that she only does internals if you ask. She said she doesn't want to do them on me because it can cause the water to break early if you are up there messing around too much! She also said that I should start taking vitamin C and garlic to stregthen my immune system and try to stregthen the membranes to prevent my water breaking early this time. Who would have thought you could do anything? Anyway, I am certainly going to get some vitamin C and odorless garlic. I would love for my water not to break early this time!
I am not quite ready to have this baby yet, so lets pray that he/she holds out a bit longer. I have been having some back cramps, but not real contractions so I know my body is getting ready, but it can do that for weeks. I will certainly let you all know as soon as I can about baby #2's impending arrival!

Too Cute Carrie! What a sweet bunch of kids we have. I do love them at this age. Zoey is so full of personality. She makes me laugh all the time.
About two weeks until my due date. I am trying not to be selfish and want this baby to come early because logistically it will work out the best for everyone else if the baby comes on time. I am getting pretty uncomfortable and would love for this baby to come anytime, but my mom doesn't get here until July 2nd and she doesn't want the baby to be "too old" when she gets here and my Mother-in-law who is supposed to stay with me for a week after the baby is born is out of town next week for three days, so, it would be best to wait until the 16th or so, but it is really hot here and I am dying! I was never this uncomfortable with Zoey. It must be a boy... :)

height - 33 1/4" -- 97%

head - 19 7/8" -- 97%
poor boy has a milk and egg white allergy and his immunoglobin (sp?) were on the very low side of normal and decreased instead of increasing from his 12m blood work - so we go to the allergist/immunologist next week

We are still here. I am a week and a half from my due date and if I make it through Wednesday that will be longer than I went with Zoey. I am not feeling any action around here, so I have a feeling we are in this for the long haul, but I suppose you never know! I am actually more comfortable this past few days than I have been in a while so I told my husband that I think this baby is "trenching in" and going to ride it out all the way!
I would be find waiting for my due date, or even a few days after, but too much after that and I will be antsy.
I am actually ready this time and am just waiting for the baby's arrival. I have everything all set up, bins labeled with clean clothes, the cradle is in our room, there is a changing station set up next to it, I have food in the freezer. What more do we need? With Zoey we didn't even have a car seat or a place for the baby to sleep. We had to borrow a car seat to bring her home in and borrow a pack n play for her to sleep in! What kind of first time parents were we! This time I am prepared for the baby to sleep in the bouncy seat on vibrate for the first few weeks. That worked like a charm for Zoey and I am hoping this baby will be the same. Zoey also ate every 4 hours so I never had to deal with that every 2 hour craziness like most new moms. I am praying I will get lucky again, but I suppose mabye I am due for more work... Let's hope not.
So, I will keep you all posted, but right now, no news of baby #2.
How is everyone else? We haven't heard much from our other pregnant mommies.

height: 31 inches 50th %
weight: 21 lbs. 5%
head: 47cm. 50%
He's just a little guy, but I'm pretty sure a lot of that is attributed to his non-stop running and chasing after Landon. Well...maybe he takes after his poppy (my dad is a little guy! ;))

Okay Mommies of 2 toddlers I have a question. My BF is preggos with DS #2 and she's due in Sept. Her DC's will be about 21 months apart. Her DH is not helpful in any way and she works FT. I am trying to think of some ways that I will be able to help her once DS arrives. I know there is the obvious of watching the kids, but I'm wondering if there is anything else I can do. My DS and her DS are BFF, they go to daycare together, so keeping DS #1 occupied will be easy, but is there anything else you girls can think of that would help her?

PrincessCJ - Food, food and more food. After having a second one, the last thing I wanted to do was cook, so a homecook meal was always appreciated. Also, just having someone to watch one or both of my kids for a few hours was wonderful so I could run errands alone or even just take a nap.

So I have a developmental question. Is anyone else's kid still not talking? Paty literally only says 5-6 words. The same words she has been saying for a few months now. She's picking up signs left and right, but I'm tempted to stop signing with her to get her to talk. I know it is in the normal range and I shouldn't worry but I'm a mom, and thus I do worry.
PrincessCJ81
06-19-2008, 09:39 AM
boiler- Do you mean actual words? I think 5-6 is very normal. The majority of Cole's class (8 kids ages 16-22 months) only say about 5-6 actual words. Cole says a lot of sounds that I've been able to identify, but only me and his dad know what he is saying. Like ba ba (bottle), ma mo (Elmo), etc... But actual words he might only know about 6 or so. I think the more important thing is that she understands what you are saying, like even if she can't say dog if you ask her to point to the dog or show you the dog would she know what you are talking about... Does that make sense? I'm guessing she's learning and understands a lot, she's just observant of what everyone around her is doing and wants to take it all in! I do understand your concern though because I am constantly thinking to myself, should Cole be doing this or should he know how to do that... I think it's a mom thing. We want to make sure we give our children every oppurtunity to succeed!!! It's a sign of love!
Michelle- You know we are all dying to know your status.... I hope everything went smoothly and you are holding a healthy baby in your arms!!!!

Yeah, I mean actual words. Paty doesn't have many words that aren't clearly understood. And she doesn't do animal sounds or anything like that. Except she does say "ba" for any type of drink (so I don't count that as a word). I thought she should have some of the babble words that only DH and I would understand and she doesn't. Maybe she is just going to skip that step? She definitely knows words and objects and picks them up very quickly. And she knows about 15 signs (which she uses regularly). I just know some of my friends have kids her age and a month or so younger who have more words and are vocal mimic-ers (Paty has never mimiced speech, only actions and signs).
I checked the June thread and Michelle posted yesterday but not today.....

Carrie- My SIL has been saying the same thing about her 20 month old and she finally took him to have his ears tested, come to find out he has fluid on his drums and is only hearing about 1/3  of what is being said to him. The ENT took a look at his ears and said he needed tubes and would be 100% within a couple of days. You might bring it up to your ped next time you are there and see if she notices anything in the ears.

Mikey tries to talk, but I think a lot of that is because he wants to keep up with his brother. It is all short words though. He does great with "hi" "bye" "ball" "no" "mine" "bowl" and similar ones.

Surprisingly (because I've always heard 2nd children rarely "talk" as soon and as much as the first) Reece is a jabber jaw. I was shocked, however, I think what Paty is saying/doing sounds completely normal to me. Reece's girlfriend Paige who is 6 days older than him is about right there, the same as Paty.
Reece is a big time mimmicer (sp?) and I think because Landon speaks sooo clearly (always has) that it's not hard for him to p/u on everthing little thing! Crazy kid!
bombera: Any baby yet? I'm dying to know what this baby is!!! :)

I keep lurking in the June thread for news on Michelle, but nothing yet. Funny thing, I thought it was crazy when she announced her pg, but now that Paty is sleeping through the night, I honestly wish I was about to have kiddo #2 any day now :) Instead, I get to wait even longer since I don't want to be pg at the beginning of the move. So my kids will likely be 3 years apart instead of the 18-24 months I always wanted.
Thanks for the reassurance on Paty. I actually had to take her to the dr this morning as she's been running a very high fever the past 2 days. I asked about the talking and he assured me she is fine. But I do think I am missing things. Now that I am super sensitive about it, I can hear her saying more things that I thought were just babble. She actually said thank you yesterday as she signed it. Just not super understandable, but she definitely was saying it. I think she sticks to the signing since it gets her point across right away.
As for the fever, they have no idea what is causing it :( Poor baby. Though it makes me glad I am still BF as she's been nursing all day.

Once again H and P are on the same page, but I think we have less than 5 words. She's had a major signing explosion and I can't keep up with them! She comprehends everything we say to her so we're not worried just yet.
Does Paty have her molars yet?? I think we might be getting ours over here but not too sure since I can't see, but she runs a low fever every couple of days and is super grouchy.
I can't wait to hear any news on Michelle!!!

Ladies,
I am so sorry... Nothing to report here. I am 4 days past my due date and about to go insane! My midwife will let me go up to 2.5 weeks over as long as all is well, but I am serioulsy hoping we don't get to that point.
I think I am way too ready for this baby to get here and that is why he/she is making me wait! I just want to meet my little one!
I really don't want to be induced and I don't want my water to break early like last time, but seriously, at this point, at least I know if my water breaks I will be holding my baby in 24 hours!
Sorry to be such a slacker, but I will keep you all posted, I promise!
Talking- Zoey is a bit abnormal and is talking like a fool. She usually doesn't string words together, except with please because that gets her what she wants, but she has A LOT of words. Now, from what I understand, this is entirely abnormal, but as I always say, If I do nothing else for my kids, I provide a good verbal example! People who know me always laugh because you cannot shut me up!
I will admit I am a bit of a talker and so I am not really surprised that my daughter is too. My nephew just turned 2 and he only has 8 words. They are a bit worried about him and are going to get his hearing tested, but keep in mind that he is two. If our kids can understand us at this point, I think that is the most important. They will start talking all over the place before you know it!

Hang in there Michelle (because what else are you going to do ;) ). I was 9 days late with Paty and I remember how much I just wanted her out!!!!
Danea, Paty does have all 4 molars already. She may be getting ready for an eye tooth to come through, but I think 104 is a little high for a teething fever. I swear our girls are like twins when it comes to milestones :)

Oh Michelle, I'm so sorry your newest addition has decided to stay in the oven a little longer. I can't even imagine being 9 months preg in this freaking heat we are having.... I am sending you quick and easy labor vibes!
Carrie- I hope the fever is down, high fevers are the one thing that really gets me worried with Cole. I can handle runny noses, coughing, vomiting, but I hate those fevers! I hope P is feeling better soon....

Time has sure gotten away on me and it's been a while since I posted.
I hope that baby comes soon bombera! I remember the wait being excruciating and being in the worst mood.
I think your daughter sounds pretty normal language-wise, boilermaker. S at 16 months has about 10 words that he uses regularly and then a few signs. It's been very gradual. He'll often say a word once and then not say it again for a month.
Toddlerhood has been quite intense for us. We have an unrestrained child that loves to push physical limits. He's just started running and climbing. He's already had his first stitches (a few months ago and the scar is healing well). He is a boy through and through. He is on the go non-stop typically starting at 5 AM . Oh, if only he would sleep until 6 or 6:30.

bombera, I'm just wishing you lots of a/c right now. Come on baby!!!!
Paty's fever finally broke. No idea what was causing it, but I am glad it is gone!
aloha, it's good to see a post from you. I can't even imagine getting up that early. Paty just started STTN 2 weeks ago, but at least she slept in! I think I'd take that over 5 am wake-ups.
bombera77
06-24-2008, 07:11 AM
Carrie, that is awesome that she is finally sleeping through the night! You must have been exhausted. That happened to a friend of mine and I swore we wouldn't go through it with Zoey. We did a bit, but she has been STTN for a while now. I don't think I could have made it through this pregnancy if she hadn't!
Aloha- I hear you on the early wake-ups. Zoey was a 5 am-er herself and then I decided to change that. I read some tips in the book called "good night sleep tight" and she talks about getting your 'early riser' to sleep in later. It really worked for us. She gets up between 6 and 7 now, but at least that is better than 5. I still use the advice in the book and on the rare occasion that Zoey gets up before 6, I won't go get her until 6 on the dot. She usually just sits in her crib and talks and plays with her 'baby' so it isn't a problem. I am up anyway, but on principle I make sure she knows it is not morning yet!
Baby news- there is none. the eggplant didn't work for us. Not even one contraction... Oh well, it was good anyway. We went on our morning walk today and I went the opposite direction on my loop that I usually go so I would have to take the big hill going up, instead of down. It kicked my butt, but didn't phase the baby. So, we will just wait another day and see what happens. My mom will be here a week from tomorrow so MIL will be upset if the baby doesn't come soon because she won't get her full week of spending time with the baby and Zoey. I hate to say it, but it doesn't look like she is going to get that full week. This baby is darn stubborn. I was hoping not to make it to my Thursday appt. and NST, but it looks like we will be there!
Have a great day everyone!

STTN- Boiler so glad to see we aren't the only ones who just started doing this... Cole is still not consistent, but now that his ear infection is gone he is more regular.
Aloha- I totally understand where you are coming from. DS is not just into everything he is on top of everything. I can't watch him close enough. He got in trouble at school b/c he pulled a chair over to the counters and got up 5ft high by himself..... We've actually taken him down to a toddler bed b/c he kept getting hurt while trying to climb out of his crib. It's working out much better for him!
Michelle- Maybe this one's a boy, he already seems stubborn!!!

We have an appt. this afternoon and an NST so I will see what happens there. Otherwise, nothing going on... Thanks for all the well wishes and I will be sure to keep you all posted if he/she ever decides to see the light of day. I was really hoping the horrible thunderstorms last night would cause this baby to come, but apparently not!
Climber- sorry to all of those dealing with climbers. Zoey is not a climber and I am glad for that. I do wish she would get herself up onto more things that she can do, like the couch, but she doesn't try hard enough most times and I have to help her. Oh well, I guess I should just be counting my lucky stars that she isn't on everything!

My appointment went well. 3 cm dilated and 70% effaced. That is farther than I was with Zoey when my water broke, so I am pleased. Of course I will be more pleased when I actually go into labor! The mw still thinks I will go into labor on my own, but in case I don't, I have an appointment for Monday with another NST and then by Wednesday we will talk induction...
The NST was fine today, the baby's heartbeat was normal and such, so for now the waiting continues. Thanks for all the support ladies!

Michelle, I'm glad to hear things are going well and you seem to be in good spirits...much better than I was when I was at that point :) But really, go get that pedi :)
CJ, yeah, we don't have a good sleeper on our hands. But she's so easy going in everything else, I don't think I can complain. I'm also glad to know I'm not the only one. :) Are you BF? I'm still nursing Paty several times a day, so I'd be willing to bet her sleep will be a crapshoot until she weans. And I'm ok with that.

06-26-2008, 07:46 PM
Bombera...It sounds like things are going to happen soon--even if it's not as soon as you hoped! I'll check out the book you suggested on ideas for getting him to sleep later in the AM. We've tried adjusting the bed time around and we do leave him and see if he'll go back to sleep (sometimes he does). However, he's never been a kid who is willing to play in the crib. His cries escalate pretty quickly if he's ready to get out. Interesting that just lately he's wanted to stay in the crib and play after his nap--only with me in the room watching. So maybe this will translate into something.
Princess-So glad to hear the big boy bed is working out for you. We're just starting on the climbing phase and it can be scary. I try to give him lots of playground time for climbing to get it out of his system. We usually go once or twice a day--we're lucky that it's just a block away.
Boilermaker-Congrats on the STTN. It didn't happen for us until I night weaned. That worked wonders for us. However, we've definitely had our sleep challenges. A full nights rest helps so much with EVERYTHING!
Hope everyone else is well!

bombera: 3cm is good, and so is 70% effaced. i'm thinking when it happens (finally!) it'll be quick and easy and worth the wait! ;) i second the pedi....do it, you deserve it, among many other fabulous things, you *sound* like you're continuing to keep a positive attitude about the whole thing! thanks for keeping us posted! :)

Lucas is here!
I went into labor early Saturday morning and didn't have him until Sunday morning at 8:30 via c-section. Labor went well and I labored at home until I was 5 cm and then went very quickly from 5 to 10 cm all unmedicated at the hospital. I pushed for 1.5 hours and made no progress, then opted for an epidural and pushed for another hour with no progress. No one could figure out why this baby wouldn't come through my pelvis, but his head just wouldn't come through. It wasn't an easy decision, but we opted for the c-section after both midwives and the doctor confirmed that we were out of options.
The first thing the doctor said when he pulled out the head was "oh my god!" My "little" boy was 10 lbs 7 oz! His head was huge that was why he just wouldn't budge! So, after 41.5 weeks, I birthed a toddler! Hee, hee!
He is perfect and a fabulous nurser. I am really sore and want to be all better, but have to be patient I suppose!
Thanks for all the well wishes and I will check back soon.

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone! Lucas is doing great. He was back up to his birth weight at his one week appointment and he is eating really well. We have some gas issues and he is turning out to be a spitter just like his sister, but that I can handle. We will just go through a lot of Oxy Clean!
He is letting me get some sleep at night- 3-4 hours between feedings. If he is not eating he is sleeping, so that is nice.
Zoey loves her little brother and that is the first thing she says when she gets up. "Luke, Luke?" She is just crazy about him, I hope that doesn't change!
My mom is still here and so she is helping me with Zoey because I am not allowed to lift her yet. I have my 2-week appt. on Tuesday and then I should be cleared to pick her up. My mom is here until the 22nd. so she doesn't want me lifting Zoey much until I have too.
The c-section recovery sucks. I will definitely go for a vbac next time if I am a candidate. I hate this! I just want to be back to my old self. My tummy is taking much longer to deflate this time around. I am losing the weight faster, but the tummy is just still hanging out there. I hope it decides to go down soon. I am tired of looking pregnant!
Okay, i am off to finish lucas' baptism outfit since the baptism is on Sunday! Nothing like a last minute momma, as usual!

DS is as busy as ever and so freaking independent. I have to get up about 20 minutes earlier everyday just so I have enough time to let him "do it" himself. He loves "helping" and really wants to be in the middle of whatever I'm doing. Most of the time it's pretty cute.
He discovered Elmo about a month ago and is freaking obsessed.... I have to go a special ways when we are at Target just to avoid seeing any Elmo toys. He goes NUTS if he sees him.... He also really enjoys books, he doesn't want you to read to him just ask him to identify things on the page. Very fun age!!!
his 18 month WBV is next week, but last time I checked he was 33.5 inches and 28 pounds.
Looking forward to reading your DC's updates and maybe seeing a picture or two......

CJ, thanks for giving us a bump. It is definitely hard to believe we are at 18m already (and a few of us are at 19m by now). But man is this age super fun and super trying :)
The independence streak has hit at our house too. Esp with shoes. Paty insists on putting on her own shoes...which means all she will wear are her crocs. If I even get out another pair of shoes, oh the hysterics. Good thing I spent all that money
So things are super busy for us. We're getting ready to move to Santiago Chile in a few weeks. So Paty will be heading to a total Spanish speaking preschool. I'm pretty excited about it, though the move is crazy. I just discovered today we have to get FBI background checks.
Paty's 18m WBV is next week, but I'm not sure how big she is. She's tall, but getting rather thin. I'd guess she weighs less than 25 pounds still as she can easily fit into 12m clothes width wise (and has since last Oct!!).
And as requested, some pics...

Hey everyone!
Thanks for giving us a bump princesscj!!!
We're just busy winding down the summer. We're taking one last vacation w/ the boys this weekend. We're headed to the coast for a couple of days. It's hot here, so it'll be nice to get out of this heat for a couple of days and the boys will love playing at the beach. Other than that, we're just busy preparing for baby girl's arrival in about 7-8 weeks! Hard to believe she'll be here so soon!
Reece is wild as ever! So much fun, but soooo exhausting at the same time!lol Could be that I'm almost 8 mos. pg! ;) He's very verbal and says just about anything he wants. Most of which we can understand. He's starting to be the aggressor w/ Landon, which is quite the change in roles! Still climbs on everything and is totally fearless. Landon started preschool three days a week/part-time and every morning when we drop him off, Reece thinks he needs to stay too! He's still a tiny little thing. He went to the ped. a few weeks ago for bronchitis and still weighed 21lbs., still fits comfortably in 12 mo. stuff, 18 mo. stuff is still pretty big on him.
I have recent pics. just none uploaded. I'm so bad, I post most of my pics. in my lj anyhow, so a lot of you have seen Reece in all his glory pretty recently! ;)
Anyhow, better finish packing for the weekend. Hope everyone is doing well! :)

Hi ladies!
I know it's been a l-o-n-g time since I last stopped by. It was crazy busy around here for a while. Heck, who am I kidding, they still are. ;)
Vacation was good overall. Can't wait until we go back but next time I hope we avoid the tropical storms and hurricanes. They were no fun at all!! I need to post some pictures at lj. Feel free to drop by over there to check out the pictures. And if they aren't posted in a few days, send me a reminder.
Can't believe my little boy is soon to be 20 months old! Seems unreal to me.
How is everyone else doing?

Hey ladies - hope everyone's falls are off to a good start. It's still SO hot here - supposedly it's going to break this week. I'm training for the Breast Cancer 3-Day and we're getting into much longer walks (12 miles yesterday, 6 today...18 & 15 next weekend ) so I'm ready for the weather to cool down!
My other news...hot off the press...is that I'm pregnant again!!!!!!!! I'm still in a bit of shock - we decided to start trying again assuming it would take us 4 months or so again...and month one I got a BFP :D I'm absolutely thrilled and know we're so lucky to have had it happen so quickly, but I still can't quite believe it (except for the total exhaustion, start of food aversion, nausea, headaches, etc...) Initial EDD is 5/21/09!!!
I'll post pics of N soon...I promise :) And he's a little peanut too, rancherswife - he was 20.5 at his 18 month - but he's getting long - so 18mo clothes are almost too short for him, but 12 month barely stay up! A help in getting the pants to stay up is that I switched to BumGenius cloth diapers (and LOVE them!) which are bulkier, so they stay up better :D (Not the reason I switched, but a good side benefit)
OK, gotta roll, just wanted to let you all know..........enjoy the rest of your weekends, ladies!

phillytiger - Congrats to you! Happy and healthy 9 months to you.
Latest update....I think DS is about 31 pounds and around 33-34 inches. He is much like rancherwife's son and a total wild man. He got his first black eye a month ago (just in time for his 18 month checkup  ) when he fell and hit the deck. He climbs on anything and everything. Loves to help sweep and mop. Is really starting to get into reading books. Jabbers and chatters away all day long and loves to sing.

Congratulations!!!! H&H 9 months to you, best wishes!!!
DS had tubes put in his ears 2 weeks ago and he is doing well, he is talking up a storm now. He previously failed his hearing test and the doctor was concerned his language skills weren't developing properly because he couldn't hear what we were saying. The tubes have made a huge difference and I can already tell that he is hearing better. I am amazed at how fast the tubes worked. Dr. said that when they vacummed the ear there was thick yellowy gunk..... YUCK!!!!
Aside from that all else is normal, just trying to keep up with a toddler! Hope all of you are doing well!!!

Congrats phillytiger and happy and healthy 9 mos. to you!!! :)
Reece had his 18 mo. wbv last Thursday, here are his stats:
weight: 22lbs.
height: 33 inches
can't remember head but it was 50%
Things are crazy around here, I'm 36 weeks pregnant and counting down til our baby girl arrives. I still have a million and one things to do, but I'm sure I'll get them done, in between chasing Reece off of tall things. His latest...Over the summer, he loved jumping off the diving board, and we'd count "1,2,3..jump" well, he took to that and loved it, but when he counts, he skips right to two and after that, he's goin'. He now enjoys jumping/free falling from pretty much anywhere in the house, he'll gather up any pillows he can pull off of beds, or couches and make a crash pad for himself, if it's too hard, he enlists the help of his big brother, who gladly sets things up for him. When we hear "twwwooo" we RUN as fast as we can, there is NO telling where this kid has climbed. He scares me! Needless to say...we're busy! ;)
Hope everyone else is doing well!

Congrats Phillytiger! That is great news. I can't wait to hear how things develop for the next 9 months!
Kim- I have been thinking of you. I can't wait to "meet" your little girl! I am sure you are exhausted after chasing those two boys around. Your story about Reece made me LOL! That is hilarious, of course only because I don't have to deal with it! Zoey is not that adventurous, but she is getting there. Daddy is trying to teach her to jump and maybe after hearing your story, I will stop that!
She is talking up a serious storm. The other day she strung 4 words together, and that was the longest sentence we have had, but I was impressed. She said "help mommy buckle lucas?" That is her thing. She loves to buckle. I was glad to hear the Doctor say that they don't usually learn to unbuckle until 4! Whew! She is climbing more, but it isn't bad. She LOVES her brother and wants to help with everything. Loves baths and loves to "go." Anywhere- it doesn't matter. She is like her mom that way!
Candice- I am sorry to hear about Cole's ears, but glad that he is getting better. Ears are such a problem at this age!
Lucas is growing like a weed. He is 14 lbs 7 oz and eats up a storm. He is 90th percentile for height and weight so this is new for me. Zoey was so tiny for so long that I am not used to a big kid. She is 50% for height now and 25% for weight so I am glad to be back on the charts. She is in 12-18 month clothes, so right on target. She does have some tiny feet though! We are in size 4's! They just don't seem big enough to support her body. :)
I have 10 more pounds to lose and I am anxious to lose it. I am tired of having a belly. I haven't gotten to wear my winter clothes for two years now and I am determined to wear them and actually look decent in them this year! I lost all the weight with Zoey, just in time to get pregnant again and I am not doing that this time around! (can someone hold me to that, please!)
Has anyone heard from our other pregnant mommies? Kat? Jen? Who else is out there?
Take care everyone. Kim, I will be checking in on you to see how you are doing. Keep us posted. :)

bombera: thanks for thinking of me. i'm hangin' in...nothing exciting going on yet. i'll be 37 weeks in a couple of days...so we're getting there! yeah...zoey might not be a climber, but you just WAIT until little lucas is on the move, boys are just NUTS! very physical little characters. ;)
to answer your question, haven't heard anything out of jen, but i will say that daniel'skitty has an "announcement" that's about 3 weeks old and doing well! ;) i'm sure she's busy and hasn't found much time to make it over here to share her news! :)
i'm so impressed w/ zoey's vocab., reece is a talker too, just hasn't put that many words together yet! lol

Great updates!
Sophie 18 WBV stats:
Weigth: 22lbs
Height: 32 1/4 in.
Sophie is doing well. Still on the petite side, although she's now in the 60th for height. Only 13% for weight, but her peds wasn't worried. Sophie is quite the talker and had a vocab of over 30 words. She's just now starting to put a few words together. Surprises me every time. I'm LOL at you guys with these adventorous boys. Sophie is quite the daredevil, but nothing like the boys.
Been having the TTC itch as of late. Just trying to convince DH and (1) we should have another baby and (2) we should start TTC around Sophie's 2nd b-day.

HI all!! Dinner's about ready, but I thought I'd jump over here and say hi!!
John's doing great. He's about 30 pounds, solidly in 24 month clothes. He's got ear issues-we go see the ENT this Friday and I hope they schedule ear tubes for the next few weeks. He's had a bunch of ear infections and his speech sucks. Like same 5 words since 12 months old. He's a talker, just makes no sense. He's curious and loves to ask "what's that" (his main phrase/word). He's very physical and can be a huge TROUBLE maker. He and his older brother get along great and amuse each other quiet well during the day, playing and chasing each other. Loads of fun. I love this age and wish they could stay little forever.
Congrats on the new babies and the new pregnancies!!! DH and I hope to try for #3 around January! :)

Still pregnant, being induced on Wednesday!!! Reece has a cold, perfect timing. Doesn't seem to be bothering him any, but still, the snot and sneezing is just great! ;) Hope everyone is doing well. I'll check back in after baby girl arrives! :)

rancher - Good luck on Wednesday! Can't wait to hear that your baby girl has arrived!
We made the move to a toddler bed this past week as DS had started to climb out of his crib. So far, the temptation to get out of bed and run around is proving to be a big challenge for him.

Rancher's- I'm anxiously waiting to see a post from you, I hope all is well. I'll be thinking about you today. I'm sending you easy delivery vibes. Good luck!!
My life- Well my little ColeTrain is just picking up new words everyday, his favorite words being "No Mommy". He has developed quite a personality and OMG is it cute. I was tickling him last night and when I stopped he looked at me and said more mommy. I tickled that kids for probably 20 minutes before he didn't want more. I need to upload some pics soon because he has changed so much. As challenging as it is, I love this age.
I hope everyone is doing okay, check in soon!

Rancher was induced today, so I too am anxiously awaiting the news of H's arrival.
Kat, I don't know how you do it. But I wish you a few minutes of peace and quiet every day :) Is that possible?
ladybug, I swear Paty and Sophie are little twins (along with Haley). Same size, same type of personality, same milestones. But gosh they are cute aren't they?
lady, I think having an older sibling can make such a difference in what personality traits come out. Good thing John is big enough to take care of himself. And we'll be TTC in Jan too, so maybe we can do this again together.
CJ, we hear a lot of No, but Paty's favorite is "one more" said emphatically while waving her index finger at me. She doesn't understand the concept of 1 though and it turns into 20 if I'm not careful. And yes, challenging is right. But oh I love it!!
Things are going well here. We were supposed to move to Chile at the beginning of the month and 3 days before we were set to leave, our company canceled the relo due to the economy. Pretty much sucked. We're getting over it and putting things back together here. Took a vacation last week to clear our heads and enjoy some sun since we wasted the summer with moving preparation.
Paty is doing great. Like all of you, I love this age. Her personality amazes me. And all the stuff she is picking up, mentally and physically. She's a tiny little thing. Most of the kids at daycare are much bigger than her. And I'm still waiting for enough hair to come in to do pigtails. One of these days. But she is also getting very independent and wants to do every thing herself. Stairs, getting dressed, etc.

Candice - Hailey loves Elmo too  DH said he wanted to get her Elmo Live, but I told him he'd be moving out if Elmo moved in! That's amazing his speech improved that fast with the tubes!
njnewyearsbride - Man he's going to be the size of a line backer ;) Hope all is well!
Phillytiger - Congrats, H&H 9 months!!
Michelle - Holy cow a 4 word sentence??!! You go Zoey!! Oh my the buckles, it's a never ending ordeal with buckles for us, she's absolutely obsessed with them - oh and shoes too!!
lady1297 - Hope the ENT figured out the ear problems, did he end up with tubes?
Rancherswife - Congrats on the arrival of baby H!!!
_________________________
As for us we didn't have an 18m WBV but I did weigh & measure her for my records: 25 lbs & 33 in. Which roughly puts her in the 60% for weight & 90% for height, weird b/c all the kids her age seem to be much taller than her.
Like everyone else she has become Miss Independent but add in some stubbornness like her mother and well we butt heads a lot LOL.
She finally got all of her molars in, it only took about 4 months but they're in. Guess just in time for eye teeth to start popping through , but hopefully we'll get a break before that happens!!
We had family photos taken last month, I'll post those next (no making fun of me Jen ;))
Last week was our Anniversary and DH actually brought up having another baby, I was so shocked! But I don't think we'll try until next summer after DD's 2nd birthday, which is slowly creeping up on us.
Other than that we're looking forward to Halloween and taking DD ToT for the first time. She won't get to eat any candy but Mommy & Daddy sure will ;)

ladybug ~ DS is around the same size as well. DS is still on the smaller side (below the 25th percentile). He's still in 18 month clothes. Actually he can still wear some of his 12 month tops including oneies. I couldn't believe it when I put them on him and he could still wear them. He can also still wear 12 month pants though some are getting on the short side for him.
lady1297 ~ I hope the ENT appt went well. Sorry to hear about the ear infections. That's one thing we've been able to avoid. Knock on wood. So far between both kids only one.
jenjen ~ Good luck on the transition to toddler bed. We haven't made that move yet. Part of me doesn't want to either.
Daniel's ~ Congrats on the new arrival! I'm quite sure that 3 little boys keep you rather busy. I've only got one and I know I'm quite busy all.the.time.
Princess ~ DS has the cutest laugh when he gets tickled. I swear I can hear it from anywhere in the house.
boilermaker ~ Love the pictures! Holy moly, she's got way more teeth than DS. He's just got 6 in the front and then 4 molars that just appeared last month. We never even knew he was teething until we looked in his mouth and noticed them. DS doesn't have much hair either. But DD didn't have much at this age either. Once she turned 2 it started coming in though. I've got them on opposite ends...DD being one of the taller kids in her class even though she's one of the younger kids and DS being on the smaller side. Sorry about the move. But I know the effects of the economy all too well. {{{HUGS}}}
dpangel ~ Wonderful pictures!! I love her shirt in the family shots. Where did you find get it? I'm not looking forward to the eye teeth either. I hope DS' aren't as much trouble as DD's were. If so I want to take a month long vacation alone when they start to appear. ;) My little guy is also stubborn, independent and mischievous.
Halloween ~ DS is going to be a horse.
Good luck to all of those who will be TTC in the near future.

Hi all!
Sorry for the delay, but as most of you already know from my LJ, Hayden Kate arrived quickly and easily on 10/15/08 weighing 7lbs. 8oz and 20 1/4 inches long. She's a beauty and such a good baby. Both big brothers are adjusting quite well to having her around. Such a difference from when we brought Reece home. ;) She's 10 days old today, my mom was here for the first 7 days, and now we're back to reality, it's busy, but totally doable! Thanks for all the well wishes. We're very happy with our new addition! :)

Have to make this quick since it's time to fix supper for hungry cranky boys! :) John did end up with ear tubes. Surgery was quick and easy. He was a bear waking up but so is his mom after something like that, so I don't blame him. We're back to normal here, enjoying fall in the eastern USA! :)

Soooo...question of the month ;)
Potty training. I know we have one Feb kiddo already PT (go Lady!!) but for the rest of us, what are you doing? Have you started thinking about it, tips from ROs, etc.
For us, we got Paty a potty and she will sit on it, but she has yet to use it. She tells me when she wants a diaper change, but that's it. I'd really like to start a real plan on PT and get her trained by her bday.
