I have an Asian theme in my bedroom and would like to make one of those standing screens, but with black and white pictures of my friends & family. I was thinking of a decoupage medium.
Has anyone ever done or seen anything like this? How should I start?

Do you have a picture of the type of screen you are thinking of? It might be pretty labor intensive to do something that large.

I'm thinking of one of those tri-fold privacy screen things. Nothing too terribly large, but yes, on the larger side. Is decoupage difficult?

It's actually really easy. It just involves a lot of decoupage medium, so you'd be painting the entire surface with several layers of Modge Podge or whatever you would use.
I found some good tutorials online, but the basic idea is you paint a surface or cover it with something like Modge-Podge (decoupage medium is, in essence, a glue.) Then you attach the photographs. Then you cover the whole thing with several layers of glue so the pictures look as though they were painted on. You can sand the layers in between each step to make it look more smooth but I never do, mostly out of laziness.

Cool! Thanks! I'll post pics in my LJ when it's done. :)

Here's a couple links I referred to when I did my project:

I think it will look great! Can't wait to see how it turns out. :D
