For those not in Northern California, Mavericks is a surf contest that has in the past had 30 foot waves. Sadly a professional surfer died one year.

Oh I forgot, to up the action, did you know that this area is a breeding ground for great white sharks?!

It's in Half Moon Bay, about maybe 20 (?) miles south of San Francisco and 1/2 mile off the coastline. They go out on jetskis and boats.

Can you tell I am sooooo excited! I kinda wanted to go, but I think it's better to watch it online.

I thought it might have been fun to go but I was too lazy to actually get up and do it. LOVED looking at the pictures though.
