My 10 week old DD has inverted nipples and has since birth. I asked the ped this week at her WBV about it and he said "that's who she is right now" and said it's pretty common.

Anyone else's DC have inverted nipples? I tried looking up info re: them online but only found ways to 'fix' them (I.E. try to break the muscles to loosen them up, ect) and obviously I don't want to do anything like that. Anyone know if there's some chance that they will turn into 'outies' on their own?

I thought this was going to be a question about you not a DD. :) I wouldn't worry about it much at this stage. I do think it is common in kids. As weird as it sounds, I haven't noticed whether or not my kids have inverted nipples. I'm assuming if it was a concern the ped would have mentioned it.

I have an inverted nipple and I've still BF 2 kids. Just thought I'd let you know that inverted or not, they still "work".

DD was also born with inverted nipples. That particular trait runs in my family; my sister, brother and father all have the same thing. Strange, huh?

It's super common in kids and I wouldn't worry about it at all. It's actually, from what I understand, not to uncommon in adults either. I used to have this too, BFing permanently 'cured' me :p

It's really common. DD's nipples were inverted for quite a while, but are normal now. Most of the time. Sometimes (and I have no idea what causes it), they invert again.
