Yesterday (when I got banged in the chin by the top of DS's chin hard enough to send me for an ice pack and for it to still hurt today if I open wide) I was thinking about how I had been unprepared for the saddness I felt when I realized DS had became so tall that he had to sit to one side or another on my lap when we read. He no longer fit under my chin safely or comfortably. It was just one of the moment's you never really thought about but which really hits you when it suddenly happens. A realization that you baby has grown to a point where something had changed that you will never get back and you never even really realized that you had it till it was gone.
Any one else have a moment like this they would like to share.

I was looking at a picture today of DD and I together when she was a newborn. I was holding her and her knees were tucked up to her chest with her elbows resting on them. She was so little that even holding her upright she didn't even come down to my belly button. Now..well, she's much bigger and every time I look at that picture, I feel a little sad in my heart. :( I'm so glad I have a picture of it though.

We were playing at a friend's house today, and she has a graco tot block set up for her younger DD. My DD had the same playpen as a baby, and wanted to go play in it. When she stood up inside, the sides barely came up past her waist! I remember when they were over her head.

I got kind of sad the other day when my almost three year old got embarrassed by a song I was singing about loving her. She didn't say she was embarrassed, but I could tell by the tone of her voice. I got sad thinking about how her teenage years are not that far away. Then everything I do will be embarrassing.
