Has anyone been to Majorca?

My husband and I are considering spending a week in Majorca in late July at one of the beach resorts? Just wondering if anyone has been there. Was it a positive experience? Any sights/restaurants you recommend or advise against?

I had plans to go but due to a family illness we had to cut our time in Spain short, and fly back to the states.

I can tell you I have a friend who sailed around the Spanish islands and loved Mallorca/Majorica!

It is colorful, and beautiful. :)

I have been there, but it was so long ago (20+ years)that I don't think I'd be of any help to you. The only thing I can tell you is that where we stayed almost all the other tourists were from Germany (which is where we lived at the time) and I remember the beach at our resort as being fairly crowded. Sorry - I know that probably doesn't help at all!
