Mods, I didn't know where to post this and also pardon me if this has been posted before...

But I just realized that Amazon.com sells bulk groceries! Many of items are cheaper than Sams Club! Most of it is free shipping too.

I saw some soup on QVC that looked really good but it was too pricey so I googled it and found it on Amazon. I got 12 packets of soup for $17 and each packet serves about 6. So that is less than $1.50 per packet and less than 30 cents per serving! That is sooo cheap!!!!!

I also got some of this granola stuff (Bear Naked) that I have always wanted. I got six 12 ounce bags of granola for only $22. At Sam's the price is about the same but you have to pay for the yearly fee. This will make a really cheap and healthy breakfast over yogurt!

My sister got deodorant the other day, a 6 pack of Degree for $4!

I didn't really browse too much but I did see a lot of other great deals. If you don't want to store all this, then you can go in on with someone!

Has anyone else purchased groceries on Amazon?

I've held back because I don't want to buy something in bulk that I might not like. I might get some 7th generation cleaning products since you can get those there fairly cheaply. They seem to have quite a bit of "green" and organic stuff.

We don't normally buy things in bulk because we have really limited storage space in our small house-- but if Amazon is really selling high quality items and healthy/organic stuff I'll definitely check it out. I love that Bear Naked granola!

I just signed on for the new Amazon service, which is still in "beta" test mode, apparently. It's www.amazon.com/subscribeandsave

In addition to shipping bulk grocery items, this service lets you arrange for a regular delivery schedule (they let you do it as often as you'd like - once month, every two months, once a year...) By setting this up, even if only once a year, you get an ADDITIONAL 10-15% off their grocery prices. Those are low already, as pp noted. In addition, shipping is always free. You can cancel at any time, or speed up or slow down the next delivery, depending on how quickly you are using up the last delivery of stuff.

There are lots and lots of baby products on the list, and also tons of green (7th gen) and organics available. The only downside is that it is in bulk, so you have to figure out if you'll use that much and can store it.

I just ordered a regular delivery of 4 boxes of cheerios, every two months. The twins sure go through them fast! I'll add more stuff to my subscription if it goes well.

We did the subscribe and save on the seventh generation diapers. It is great not to have to worry about going and buying diapers once a month. I ordered our first shipment on a Monday and had them by Wednesday afternoon the same week. We are getting them delivered once a month. I haven't done anything else yet, but it sure is a nice alternative to going to Sams!

I had no idea that Amazon had groceries too. Thanks for posting about it! Too bad they don't carry Starbucks Whole Bean coffee, I'd sign up for auto delivery of that in a heartbeat!
