Anyone heard of this, or know any children that have it? Sophia was recently diagnosed with it, she has had it since she was 2 months old. The doc has her on Zyrtec at night to help, and said its common and she will grow out of it eventually-

My daughter has a mastocytoma on her chest... I just read about mastocytosis and it looks like a whole-body issue, whereas my daughter only has an issue with the birthmark area. We were also told that it will go away as she gets older. Does your daughter have frequent hives or is it triggered by something?

I believe I posted a thread about it a long time ago, but never got any responses. I was told it was common too, but I haven't found a whole lot of people that have heard of it.

She has the red spots on her back and around her neck, some of them turn into little water blisters then break and scab over. It doesn't seem to be triggered by anything, we will see if the medicine helps, its supposed to block the histamines from being released, which causes the blistering and itching.

It just sucks to know that I can't take them away for her and she may be itchy and I don't know it.

This may sound odd, but do any of you have pictures of what this looks like? DS has skin issues... we originally thought eczema, then went to an allergist who thinks it is just really, really dry skin. I disagree. He is most bumpy on his arms and legs, none on the trunk of his body. He occassionally gets them on his face. Could this be an option?? TIA!

I might have some at home. We had taken some for the dermatologist to see the blisters.

Does he get blisters at all? Sophia gets water filled blisters when the spots are really bad.
