Which guide do you prefer?

For France, which guide do you prefer? SO's 13-year-old daughter may be going to Montpelier in the summer. I'd like to order her a guide but won't be able to get to the bookstore for a few days since I'm in the middle of finals.

Any opinions?

For France, my favorites are Rick Steves and the Eyewitness guides. Plus, I do plenty of research on the Fodors.com boards beforehand.
