Just curious if you did have m/s during your pregnancy, when did it begin?

Right around 8 weeks. It was at it's worst from 8-14 weeks, and then it improved although I would still have ocassional bouts even in the third trimester.

Just before 5 wks, though it didn't get really bad until the next week.
I was queasy in the morning weeks 5-7, got better after eating, sometimes returned right before lunch.

It started almost exactly at 6 weeks and lasted straight through week 10. I never got sick, just nauseaus all the time.

I started at about 5 weeks with a little quesiness or so. It sort of felt like car sickness. Then it came with all avengence about 8 weeks and lasted to about 14 weeks. It was all day sickness, and I even felt worse at night. Then one day about 15 weeks it stopped.
Good Luck.. Hopefully it wont last to long for you.
Started rather suddenly at 6w2d. I went from wanting to eat everything in sight the day before to hating the thought of all food the next day. I'm still in the throes of that, so obviously I can't give you an "end" date, but that's when it started. I've also never actually thrown up, but I've felt pretty nauseous all day and often feel on the verge of throwing up.
Hopefully it won't hit you at all!!

The morning sickness I got was around 5-7 weeks and it was at night. I couldn't eat dinner.

Started right around 4 weeks, peaked around 10 - weeks 10 through 20 were HORRIBLE. Still get sick every now and then at 34 weeks but nothing like in the beginning. It was like having food poisoning and being car sick 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Started around 5 weeks and lasted until 11-12 weeks. It wasn't full blown m/s... just nausea and no desire to eat "normal" food.

*bump* for additional anecdotal evidence.
I've been queasy on and off since 4w2d. There were 3 days in a row that I felt normal last week, then yesterday & today it's back again. I am wondering since it started so early, will this be all that it is, or should I expect a 'ramp up' in nauseasness over the next few weeks?

Around 8 weeks and it lasted until 19 weeks. Mine was pretty severe though and I had to be put on zofran.

I was a late starter. I thought I'd made it thru my first trimester without any m/s, but then on what I call the last day of my first trimester (13w2d) it struck. Lasted all of 2 weeks. I only vomited a handful of times, but gagged when I brushed my teeth and dry heaved randomly like no one's business morning, noon and night during that 2 week period. I'm now at just past 17w and have been free of any m/s for (knock on wood) just about 2 weeks now.

I got queasy around 6 weeks and it started fading at 8 weeks. It was pretty much gone by 10 weeks. Some days were worse than others. Some foods made me feel worse than others. I felt the best when I made sure to eat every two hours, even if it was just a few peanuts or some bread.
There are things that I used to love, but I ate during my couple weeks of m/s that I still can't go near, like Chinese food and hamburgers.

It started at like 3 weeks pregnant (first sign I was pregnant and what prompted me to take a HPT) and didn't stop until around week 16.... It was pretty bad too, throwing up at least every day, sometimes 3-4 times a day :( I still get nauseated sometimes, early in the morning before I eat but it isn't near as bad as it was.... And I haven't thrown up in weeks

Ok, now for pgcy #2... started almost exactly the same day as it did for #1, right around 6w. I'm now 33w 3d and still would be sick every morning if not for meds. So, worse this go-round in terms of duration; a little better in terms of severity.

It started at about 6 weeks (2 weeks after getting my BFP - I ate so incredibly well in those 2 weeks) - I never got sick - just nauseaus (not just in the morning), really sensitive smell (which made all foods seems disgusting) and no desire to eat. It lasted about 4-6 weeks and then miraculously disappeared one day (of course I was convinced I had lost the baby because it disappeared so suddenly))

With my first pregnancy, my m/s started at 5 wks. It got worse with each passing day and by the time I was 6 wks DH had called the doctor to get me something in hopes it would help. It didn't and I was still extremely sick. Needless to say I didn't go anywhere unless it was absolutely necessary. It was most severe from 5 wks until 25 wks. I was on several meds during those weeks. Finally after 25 wks it got better (or the meds started helping). I did have a return of it during the last couple of months but it wasn't as bad as it was at the beginning. I was sick for almost 4 hours during my labor though (they tried drug after drug and nothing really helped). It was awful having to deal with contractions, back labor, and having to throw up. Oh the joys of having HG during pregnancy. (Hoping I avoid it that severly with #2).
With this pregnancy, I have had it since the day I found out (4 wks, 1 day) but it was the worst this past week (6 1/2 wks-7 wks). I really hope it doesn't last as long as it did with my first pregnancy. So far I've gotten sick at least once a day.
I had a m/c a few months ago and was also sick from the day I found out until I miscarried (only about a wk).

At 4 weeks 2 days. It was my first clue I might be pg (we weren't TTC and I wasn't charting). The day after I got my BFP I was even more nauseated. I had pretty bad nausea & m/s through the entire 1st tri.

I had light nausea before I even got my BFP, and it ramped up to full m/s a couple weeks later. I believe it lasted until around 16 weeks and I lost a decent amount of weight because of it. :(

At 6w2d. I had evening sickness, and would get nauseaus at the sight of dinner. No vomiting though. I ended up eating all my calories early in the day and skipping dinner. It started to subside during my 11th week, and was completely gone by my 13th week.

Last time about 4 1/2 to 5 weeks. I was sick until just after the end of the 1st tri and after that I just felt a little yucky once in a while after that.
This time, I feel a little yucky, but it is more dry heaves than anything. A few smells get to me bad though. Baby wipes being one of them.

I was nauseous and vomiting from 7 weeks - 16 weeks. It was daily from 7-14 weeks and then it tapered off to every couple of days sick and a day or two not sick from about 14-16 weeks. Since then i've had heartburn almost every day. I'm currently 21 weeks. I've gone through 2 bottles of maalox and have half of a bottle in my purse and another half empty one at the office! I also bought a HUGE container of Tums at Sams Club :)
All in all it hasn't been too bad. I look back on the really bad ms and i HATED throwing up but it doesn't seem so bad anymore. I had one bout of sciatica that thankfully went away within about 5 days. My only other 'symptom' has been extremely dry skin on my hands that i've been battling since the beginning and i also have a couple of patches on my eyelids so they get inflamed and swell up occasionally too. It's ugly more than anything.

With #1, I had nausea and vomiting from week 9 until week 25. It really wasn't that bad and it was quite predictable -- I'd wake up, take a shower, vomit and/or dry heave (mostly dry heaves, but I also vomited alot of bile), eat breakfast, and then I'd feel totally fine the rest of the day.
With #2 (so far), morning sickness started early in week 8 and is here with a vengeance. :( So far, it is more intense than it was with #1, and it's not just a morning thing for me. I have had days where I have puked ALL day and haven't been able to keep anything down.

I never got "morning" sickness. I always felt my best in the morning, and got sicker as the day went on. By 4pm, I felt like crap and was asleep by 8pm. I also never threw up much, just nauseus, extremely tried, and unable to eat.
That said, it started around 7-8 weeks and went away around 14.
ellidew, I was a lot like you, only mine went from 6 weeks to 17 weeks. Mine tapered over time too, where it went from throwing up all day to being isolated to certain times of the day, to just the mornings, to every other day, to just a few times a week, to finally not at all. I had to get on medication as well as there were days where I just couldn't function. And, I did have to go get an IV at 7 weeks. I still get nauseated a lot, but that may have to do with getting progesterone shots, and luckily haven't thrown up in a while. However, I do have the vengeful acid reflux right now, but not everyday like I did from 17-20 weeks. Tums Ulta seems to do the trick and gives me my added calcium for the day!

pg #1... It started around week 5 and lasted until about week 16. I never threw up, but was nauseous all day long and so tired I felt like I had the flu. I never felt "good" my entire pregnancy.
pg#2... started around week 6 and seems to be tapering off now at almost 10 weeks.

With my 1st I mostly just dry heaved in the morning once and then would be fine. Every now and then a smell would make me feel nauseated (Like the cafeteria at work) but it was pretty non existent.
This time is totally different! It started last week which was 7 weeks and has been full force since. I usually throw up at least 2 to 3 times a day and cant keep anything down.
I havent eaten anything but saltine crackers in days and sometimes even the ginger ale makes me vomit. What do you gals eat or drink? Anything else besides the old cracker and ginger ale route? I tried toast and that all came up.

I never really got sick but right around 13 weeks I started to have days where I was pretty nauseous and it lasted about 2 weeks.
Aug2002Bride, I can totally sympatheize. During the worst part, the foods I could keep down were watermelon, Slim Fast Shakes (I kept a can by my bedside, so I could start sipping it early in the morning before I got out of bed), apple sauce, pudding cups, miso soup, basically anything that was easy to swallow and was easy on the digestive system.
HTH, Good luck!

This week (6 weeks). At least I think it's MS since it never happened before.
It's pretty mild, and I just feel queasy from about 3pm-5pm. It's worse if I've eaten lunch, which made me think it wasn't MS, but when I didn't eat lunch today I still got it. I have been really UN-hungry for the past couple of days and have to make myself eat, except at night.
I've been carrying around a baggie of saltines like it was my child. :)

I am 8 weeks now and it started about 5 weeks. It struck all day. I wouldn't say I am completely naseuated, just have a weak feeling in my stomach. I liken in to feeling like I am hungover for most of the day. I only actually got 'sick' once.

I think it started around 8 weeks, and it's still going at 11 weeks. I think it's getting better though. Very day-by-day though.
I pretty much dry heave every morning after brushing my teeth (damn you, toothbrush), and then sometimes feel sick later in the day, but usually not enough to throw up.

Both for me...
1st preg, mostly vomiting. I vomited probably 4/5 times/week until 16 weeks.
This preg, mostly nausea. I've only vomited 5 times in the past 10 weeks but feel nauseated almost all day long
I didn't really have morning sickness, just random hints of nausea between week 7 and 14. I was very lucky.
With my first PGcy I was sick as a dog from day one but it ended in m/c at close to 6 weeks.

Are you pregnant?
Anyway...with Natalie, the morning sickness started around week 5 or 6 and lasted until she was born (even during labor). I had nausea and vomiting almost daily and often multiple times a day. I was put on Zofran to control the vomiting.
With this one, I'm 12 weeks and have had scattered nausea. I had a tummy bug over the weekend, so I don't really count that, but otherwise, I've only thrown up about 5 times and have only gotten nauseated at other times when I go too long without eating. *knock on wood*

I'm not sure yet. I'm waiting for my bladder to cooperate enough for me to test. But I wanted to see some opinions before I got myself worked up. I got really sick on April 2nd and had the same symptoms this morning. I don't know if morning sickness can be spread out like that, but I'm testing to be sure.

My nausea started in my 5th week. I'm in my 12th week now and it's still there, however it's getting better. From 6wks-10wks I threw up 1x a week, dry heaved daily and gagged daily. Did you get a two pack of tests? I'd do it again with first morning urine. I initially got a BFN and I was PG. Also, how late is your period?

I am around 6 weeks pregnant now, and I haven't gotten m/s yet (knock on wood). My main symptoms so far have been sore bbs, bloating, gas (TMI), and some fatigue (though not extreme), and needing to pee more often. Part of me is worried because I feel like maybe I should have more symptoms at this point. And I have read something to the effect of the sicker you are, the less likely you are to miscarry. I really hate to wish m/s upon myself (and I'm not)...but I am just worried that my lack of extreme symptoms is a cause of concern. This is my first pregnancy, and I am definitely stressed about miscarrying (maybe that is a normal concern). I have my first u/s next week, so I am praying that will calm my fears.
So, I guess this post has more than one purpose - to ask when/if you had m/s, and if I should worry about not having extreme symptoms at this point. My DH keeps joking that I may look back and wish that I hadn't worried about m/s, especially if I still get it!!
Thanks ladies!

I had ms from 6-16 weeks and threw up 1-4 times a day. I remember not feeling pregnant but once ms started i wished i hadn't thrown that out into the universe ;) lol.
I think the fear of a miscarriage is normal same as once your baby arrives you fear sids or any other harm that could take your child from you. My ds is nearly 1 and i still check on him before i go to bed and if i get up in the middle of the night for any reason i check on him.
I've never heard that the lack of morning sickness means a higher risk for miscarriage. That sounds like an oldwives tale to me. I know plenty of people that until they start showing and feeling the baby flutter they never have a single recognizable symptom.
Try not to worry.

At 6-8 weeks I was feeling pretty good, not too sick at all -- in fact, I was able to travel, go on longer car trips, etc.
MS kicked in more around 8-10 weeks, but even then it wasn't a daily thing. Some days were better than others, some foods seemed to trigger it more than others and I got used to avoiding them. I agree that a lack of MS doesn't mean anything in terms of having a healthy baby -- compared to some people my experience was probably a picnic!

i dont remember exactly when, but i didn't get real bad ms until about the beginning of the second trimester. it lasted about two months.
I never really had it. I felt a tad off on a couple of occassions and had some food aversions in the first trimester, but other than that my only particularly uncomfortable symptom was heartburn throughout pregnancy. I felt more or less like myself until I was actually in labor. :)

With my DS I had M/S start at 4 weeks (that's what told me I was pregnant - we weren't TTC so the M/S made me take a HPT) and it lasted until around 16 weeks. I threw up weekly but felt nauseated daily.
With this pregnancy it started up around 7 weeks and lasted until around 20 weeks. I felt nauseated daily but only threw up maybe 5 times.

With #1 I had no m/s at all...not a food aversion, a second of nausea, nothing. With this pregnancy, it started at about 5 1/2 weeks an was AWFUL. I couldn't eat anything, took lots of Zofran and my toddler stared at me laying on the couch many days. I am about 15 weeks now and for me it went away 100% at 13 weeks.
With DS I felt great the entire pregnancy. No nausea or food aversions. Now with #2 I started feeling nauseous at around 4 weeks. I don't throw up, but I just feel nauseous ALL DAY.

I knew I could count on you ladies to make me feel better! Again, I am totally not trying to wish m/s upon myself...I know that it must be miserable! I guess it's just that some days I feel pregnant, and some days I worry that I don't feel a lot of symptoms. Hopefully my u/s next week will be good and I will be able to feel more like this is for real! Of course, I am also so stressed that I won't be able to see a heartbeat on the u/s next week...ah, I am so neurotic! But I'm sure that most of these feelings of anxiety are normal and part of the process.
Thanks again, and any other stories are appreciated!

I am around 6 weeks pregnant now, and I haven't gotten m/s yet (knock on wood). My main symptoms so far have been sore bbs, bloating, gas (TMI), and some fatigue (though not extreme), and needing to pee more often.
That is how I felt pretty much my entire first trimester! I did end up sick a few time (totally random, never FELT sick, but would get sick) but not until 12-14 weeks!

I found out I was pg about 4-5 weeks along. I think I had m/s kick in about a week afterwards. I would throw up immediately in the morning and again when I arrived at work and then feel sick to my stomach the rest of the day. This went on up until the first few weeks of my second trimester.

At 6 weeks I was just feeling tired.
By 7-8 weeks I felt crappy (starving all the time, but nauseous at the same time, too horrible to get out of bed). It was my version of m/s, as I never actually got sick. That lasted until about 11 weeks for me.
With DD I had sore BB's and fatigue around 4-6 weeks. I was hoping that since my Mom didn't have morning sickness with me I wouldn't get it either. :) But I was wrong, it hit around 8 weeks. That lasted until about 20 weeks and started again the last month of my pregnancy. H&H 9 months to you.

With DS I got it from about 6 weeks all the way until they pulled him out of me at 38 weeks. Everyday (but only once) until about 20weeks and then it lessened to a few times a week.
Suprisingly with this one I was sick at 4 weeks for 3 days, then just nauseous, until 18 weeks in which I threw up every evening from 8pm until 7am every 1/2hr to hr. (this lasted for 2 weeks until I insisted there had to be a better way). For me this turned out to be acid reflux related and as soon as I got medication it has stopped. Just thought I would add to the story in case people get sick late. I think in hindsight a lot of my m/s with DS was probably acid related too, but it was unbearable so I didn't ask for meds.

I never really had it. I felt a tad off on a couple of occassions and had some food aversions in the first trimester, but other than that my only particularly uncomfortable symptom was heartburn throughout pregnancy. I felt more or less like myself until I was actually in labor. :)
I think I could have written this post...ditto. My mother never had m/s with ANY of the 3 of us. So I suppose it lucked up and got her genes. My sister wasn't so lucky. :o
At 12 weeks. And it lasted until the day I delivered.

I'm really nervous because I'm almost 15 weeks and though I had no m/s with my first pregnancy at all, in the last couple of weeks I started to feel more nauseous. I throw up maybe 2-3 times a week. I was hoping now that I was in the second trimester and hadn't had any m/s in the first trimester that I was in the clear. But it doesn't seem that way. I've had a little heartburn, too - and again, no heartburn at all last time.

I'm now 18 weeks-plus and think I can safely say I never had morning sickness. Never felt a smidge of nausea. I worried like crazy that there was something wrong and I should be feeling more symptoms, even though my midwife and everyone else reassured me that having more/fewer symptoms does not mean anything about the health of the pregnancy.
I keep saying that if I weren't getting fat, I wouldn't know I was pregnant. (That and the missed periods, of course.) The only symptoms I've really had are tender nipples, midafternoon fatigue in the first trimester, and now, what looks like a sunburn whenever I get out of the shower. I literally turn bright red where the warm water has been, and there's a line down my arms marking where the water wasn't hitting. Guess it's due to amped-up circulation.
And so far, this has been a very healthy pregnancy. We had a brief scare with one high number on the ultra screen (beta), so I got a CVS, and everything is normal chromosomally. Everything was fine on my AFP test too. All the ultrasounds (haven't done the 20-week yet) have checked out great. So Susan, I hope that's reassuring!

You ladies rock! I REALLY appreciate everyone's responses, more than you know. GinaDC, it did help to hear that your midwife confirmed that fewer/more symptoms has nothing to do with the health of a pregnancy. I know that it is still early on for me, so it does sound like I still have plenty of time for m/s to set in (unfortunately!). I found out from my mom that she had no m/s with my brother (her first baby), and only a little bit with me (2nd). So, maybe I will be blessed with no m/s, we'll see!
Thanks again for helping to calm my fears. This whole pregnancy thing is very exciting, but it has certainly brought out the worrywart in me!! This thread has definitely helped me to feel better! :)

I never had any morning sickness. I maybe had one or two days where I felt a little nausea. The funny thing is that I tend to get nausea on a regular basis, and I actually got less while pregnant. Go figure.
Like you I was very nervous of having a miscarriage. One day I got some cramps and put myself on self-imposed bedrest except for frequent trips to the bathroom to check for blood. When I first found out I was pregnant, I freaked out after sneezing, thinking I shook him loose.
Luckily, my pregnancy was healthy and I have a 19 mo old to prove it!

With my 1st I think it started around 8 weeks, I was sick pretty much every AM until week 12-13 and I then, thankfully, felt great the remainder of my pregnancy.
With my current pg. I made it through the 1st trimester with just food aversions, fatigue and some nausea, but never really got sick (which I consider no m/s after the puking I had with my first). I also questioned if I was pregnant quite a bit! Again right at the end of the 1st tri. though I felt great (and still do).
I know what you are saying about the worrying though.. it's so hard not to! But if you do make it through with no m/s, just count your blessings and enjoy! ;)

I'm on week 19 of my second pregnancy and have never had any morning sickness. With my first pregnancy I barely had any symptoms- being tired and sore breasts was really it. With this second pregnancy I've been tired and had sore breasts again. This time my gag reflex has been more sensitive (I've thrown up once from just eating too much too quickly and once from seeing my DD throw up), but no nausea, no regular throwing up, no food aversions.

I started to feel sick midway through week 6. It never really got too bad though. It went away around 10 weeks. Then I just got really tired. I'm starting to get more energy around 13 weeks but I'm still tired (and can't go to sleep at night, which isn't a fun combination).
I don't think lack of m/s is a cause for concern. It will probably come soon enough. I agree that you will feel nervous about losing the baby, m/s or not. Every time I go to the bathroom I always worry that I'll see blood. Every time.

I had m/s from 5.5 wks until 41wks.

I never had morning sickness, just "evening sickness." I'm very thankful that I did not feel sick in the early part of the day b/c I was teaching and there would have been no way I could have functioned around 12 and 13 year olds. After work though, I would feel horrible. Nauseated, headaches, tired, etc. I was in bed by about 7p.m. from around 5 weeks until around 16 weeks.

Good morning ladies! Tracie, your comment about sneezing and thinking you shook your baby loose made me giggle...because I have thought the same thing!! Sometimes I have some violent sneezes!
Brady - I'm glad to hear that I'm not the only one that questions the pregnancy at times! I guess that is a normal feeling if you aren't having a lot of extreme symptoms.
jenjunum - I look to make sure there is no blood when I go to the bathroom EVERY TIME. Glad to hear that others are just as paranoid as I am!
To all of you who had morning (or evening, or all day) sickness through your WHOLE pregnancy - how in the world did you get through it with your sanity in tact?? I REALLY hope that doesn't happen to me, I don't know how I would handle it!

I think mine started around week 9, it was just nauseated all day long, major food aversion and at night I'd be puking. I'm 26w 1d today and I still have major food aversions and still feel nauseated but it has lessened. I had to break down and call the doctors office, when I started my 2nd trimester, basically begging for something to help because all the stuff they told me to do wasn't helping. I got Zofran but only was allowed 12 pills because of my insurance so I got Reglan and it has helped.
I'm being daring today and haven't taken my Reglan yet but I feel the nauseated feeling creeping back. I hate having to take something but I know the baby is doing good and growing so I'm not as worried but I would rather not have to deal with m/s, as Brady said count your blessing you don't have m/s.
There other ladies that have it a lot worse and I don't know how they do it. I think they deserve a metal.

I just entered my second trimester, and I haven't had a single bout of morning sickness. Period. A little nausea here and there, but we're talking a twinge that can easily be remedied by eating anything. And from the way everything looks, the baby's just fine. So yeah, I'm proof that fewer symptoms doesn't necessarily mean miscarriage. Your fears are normal; I had a lot of the same ones during the first trimester. I wondered why I wasn't feeling sicker. Just chalk it up to being lucky and count your blessings. :)

It was very tough to remain sane! I spent time in the hospital, was hooked up to an IV at home and finally had to walk around with zofran pump which was attached to me 24 hours a day. I hope that m/s stays away for you! I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

Mine started around 6 weeks and I still have it at 24 weeks (not as badly, but still badly enough to be medicated). Between about 8 weeks and 18 weeks was the worst part for me. Totally debilitating. My life as I knew it completely stopped- I just couldn't function even somewhat normally.
Not having MS shouldn't make you worry, though. Lots of people don't experience it. My BF has had two totally healthy pregancies with no nausea or vomiting at all. Just consider yourself lucky and enjoy the pregnancy! :)

I had a really, really hard time with it, mentally and emotionally. Thank God for CC and LJ because talking to other people who'd experienced it (and had it even worse) was helpful. But there were a number of really dark days where I couldn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. My OB did give me the number for a therapist who deals with this sort of stuff, so that is always an option if you're really struggling.

I think the concern with m/s and m/c's is that if you are really sick and then all of a sudden you don't have m/s anymore it can be a sign of a problem.
I started to feel sick around 7 weeks or so. I mostly had nausea at night and it lasted about halfway through the second tri-mester. It returned for weeks 36-40. I did not throw up at all and the nausea wasn't really that bad.... it was just annoying to feel sick every single night. There are lots of things you can do to minimize the nausea: sea bands, ginger, sour candies, saltines. It is different for everyone. For me the biggest help was Orbitz Bubblemint gum. I chewed a ton of it while PG!
I was absolutely starving (and craving fried chicken -- the only overwhelming craving I had the entire pregnancy) at 6 weeks 1 day. At 6 weeks 3 days, I woke up and hated the sight of all food....nothing sounded good to me....and I was HOT. Really, really HOT. I felt like I had the flu. For about 6-7 weeks. I never actually threw up, but I just felt icky and couldn't find anything that sounded good to eat. Thankfully Progresso Minestrone soup was okay, because otherwise I would've eaten nothing but saltines and rice for the whole first trimester.
Then, slowly, and with the help of some friends who wanted to meet me for dinner despite my constant complaining, I found out that bar food (the greasier, the better) was somewhat appetizing. So much for eating healthy organic food the entire pregnancy. :D
By 12 weeks or so I was starting to be able to eat more things, and IIRC by 15-ish weeks it was pretty good. I know that by 20 weeks I could eat just about anything, though "meat in sauce" (like chop suey or an Indian curry or something) made me gag until the day I delivered.

Still no actual m/s (KNOCK ON WOOD), but I have felt a little queasy at times now...especially when I need to eat. But I am going through the nothing really sounds that great to me phase...but usually once the food is in front of me, I can eat. The past few days I feel like I have been getting full a lot quicker - did you all experience that? It could be due to all of the gas and bloating that I feel now, which is tons of fun. But hey, I will take that over nausea and vomiting any day!!

DC2 - really kicked in today at 6wks exactly. Praying it won't be as bad or last as long.
Mine started at the sixth week and lasted four weeks. It went away as soon as I started doing prenatal yoga and a morning sickness meditation/walk combo. I still feel a bit queasy (at 12 weeks) if I don't do yoga twice a week or so. However, It's been replaced, though, by a deep sacral pain whenever I walk.

Sol, can you say more about the meditation part? I'm not allowed any exercise right now (almost 7 weeks) but I've found that I can ease the nausea somewhat by taking some time to be quiet. At work, though, it's nearly impossible to do that (I teach HS) and then I'm much more likely to throw up, which of course is much worse away from home.
I've also had some success in relieving nausea by applying pressure to the base of my head (where my head and neck meet) either by putting a tennis ball between my head and a pillow or leaning against something firm, like the back of a chair.
I'm doing all the other stuff too--eating protein, trying not to get too hungry, having gum, mints, or hard candy around--but sometimes I can do everything and still get sick. Yuck!

Sure! The meditation from the book (Bountiful, Beautiful, Blissful) is a half-hour walk in which you press your fingers with your thumb in order (in both hands at the same time). Thumb to index finger and say (or chant or think) SA; Thumb to index finger, TA; Thumb to ring finger, NA; Thumb to pinky, MA. And start over with SA, etc. This is done while breathing through the nose and focusing in the spot between your eyebrows. I usually do it whenever I'm out for a walk, even if it's just for a few minutes. It really helps if I need to walk through downtown with all the restaurant smells!
Now, in the DVD by the same author (Prenatal Kundalini Yoga by Gurmukh Khalsa) the same meditation is done chanting and sitting down, for 7, 11 or 31 minutes ideally (3 is also fine). I've found the one in the video to work better for me, but then, I think it's because of the chanting pattern (the "music") for the SA TA NA MA, and the fact that it's in the middle of the yoga class. FWIW, SA TA NA MA is a form of Sat Nam, which means "I am the truth" in Sanskrit.
I haven't had any morning sickness ever since. I imagine that being near to the second trimester also helps, but I did feel quite a change suddenly when I started.
