View Full Version : Moms of kids close in age or twins...
I'm feeling sort of bad about something and I'm wondering if any of you have gone through anything similar... my girls are 16 months apart (3yo and 4yo). Both girls are daytime potty-trained. My youngest just trained a few weeks ago and immediately started waking up dry. My oldest however is not night-trained and still wakes up wet. Tonight I decided to go ahead and let my youngest sleep in panties. I had a little talk with my oldest yesterday and she was cool with it but tonight she got a little upset and said she was older and she wanted to sleep in panties too. I explained to her that it's no big deal that she doesn't wake up dry and when her body's ready to, she will. As a compromise, I put panties on over her diaper tonight. But now I'm feeling all bad... Any of you gone through anything similar and how did you handle it when the youngest (or one twin) did something before the other?
Thanks ladies.

I have a 5 1/2 yo and a nearly 3 yo the 3 yo is fully (day and night ) pt my oldest is such a heavy sleeper that she's still in P/U. we don't make a big deal about it. My youngest is also more physical adept than my older one. We just focus on the fact that everyone is different and does things at a different rate, (not just at pj time either) we talk about how younger dd loves peanut butter and older dd hates it, How older dd is really good at the computer and younger dd isn't that good at it etc. I think your older dd will take your personal feelings and self apply them. In our house it's just 'a matter of fact' thing.
thanks firefly for the reply. Yeah we have a very matter of fact attitude towards those things too usually. I was just having a very irrational thinking night last night. :o
Well I am feeling much better about it this morning. Youngest woke up dry so we were very proud of her. Oldest woke up soaked and it was no big deal, as usual. She didn't care at all that she was in a diaper.
We were all just very tired and emotional last night I think.
