Hey everyone!
Annette Congrats!! Sending lots of sticky vibes your way!
Jenn Hope your dream comes true! I haven't had any dreams yet but just a generalized good feeling about mel the past few days also!
taylandra Hope you are feeling better soon!

My temp jumped this morning, but I spent the night and my grandparent's house and didn't sleep well (darn grandfather clock next to me with a chime every 15 minutes!) and it was warm in there. We'll see what tomorrow looks like now that I'm back home.

TM, could you please change the chart link for my info on the front page to my FF one? I no longer use the Ovusoft. Thanks!

Congratulations Annette
Good luck ABirney and Mel

Hope everyone else is doing good. I almost posted the other day and said I'm out for December, because I was sure we missed it. But, I started to get some really creamy and watery CM and yesterday it was EWCM!!!! We bd'ed in the morning and my temp spiked today. I just know I O'ed yesterday. Hopefully, it will be a BFP! That would be so awesome. Because I'm almost positive I O'ed yesterday, Christmas day would be 10 DPO!!!! Oh my gosh, that would be so cool if I got a BFP on christmas day. But I'm going to try and not get my hopes up because we only BD on yesterday morning and who knows if that's enough? The other days were just sticky days, not fertile CM. So, only time will tell.

Please move me to 2ww, I think I O'ed

~Annette~Congrats, I hope this sticks for you. Keep us posted on your progress. I am praying on this one for you!!!

Nothing new here at all with me. Just hanging out after the big 10 inches of snow we got yesterday. I have no idea what cd i am on. I have no idea if I o'd or not. Basically my feelings now are that after a year in 4 months, we are going to need assistance, so I am not going to put much hope in anything!!!

random question...

what do you consider spotting vs. light flow? i am trying to figure out if today should be spotting or CD1.

katiems118
12-16-2007, 06:54 PM
yeah Abirney!!!!!! So happy for you!!!!!

I think of spotting as not bright red, sorta pinkish with some CM in it, and light flow as definatly red. Hope that makes sense

random question...

what do you consider spotting vs. light flow? i am trying to figure out if today should be spotting or CD1.

For *me* spotting is usually dark, dark sticky "flow" or light red/pinkish when I wipe or a little bit of the red/pinkish w/CM or it's watery.

ABirney- Hurray, hurray, HURRAY!!! Sticky vibes to you and a Happy & Healthy 9 months!

Forgot to add to MMH's question:

The pre- and early pregnancy study I'm participating in considers spotting to be when you don't need any type of pad or tampon, basically when you only notice red/pink discharge/bleeding when you wipe in the bathroom. So that's what I go by. I usually have a panty liner on, but that's just for my peace of mind, not because I need it at that time.

Hope that helps!

Oh wow, congratulations, Abirney! How wonderful!!

This thread is so exciting these days. :D I'm kind of excited myself, because I got a peak reading on the CBEFM and a couple of positive OPKs (I'm using both methods since I had some OPKs left over and this is my first month using the CBEFM, so I wasn't sure how accurate it would be- obsessive, I know). So, lots of fun for the husband and me this weekend! ;)

OMG what an amazing weekend this has been!!!

Annette - I am so so thrilled for you. I am sending you as many sticky vibes as I possibly can. You deserve this :)

ABirney - I am so thrilled for you as well!!!

I have been so down this weekend and you guys have inspired me to keep going!!

Jenn - I so hope your dream comes true. I have had dreams over the past 2 years that I got a BFP at Christmas time.

Kopper - I am so sorry :(

did you see how cute Pelican's boys are??

They are adorable. Its funny when I saw the news story about the triplets and quads being born I said hmm I wonder if that was Pelican!

Katie - I am on progesterone and that can make your temps be really high so I am trying not to read anything into it

I am sorry to those that AF found :(

I'm just hanging out here at 7DPIUI

Thanks for all the congrats everyone but please send me some sticky vibes!! I think I'm having a chemical pg. :( I retested this morning and the line is very faint, and my lower abdomen is feels a bit bloated and tender. I'm going to call the RE and see what he wants me to do.

Abirney Gosh, I hope not. Keeping my fingers crossed for you
MMH I too consider spotting to be dark, dark brown thick discharge or light pink twingsh mixed with cm. When I start AF, I start - heavy, red blood flow. Hope that helps!

My chart is looking good. I definiately O'ed on Saturday, so we'll see. I'm not totally confident because we only BD'ed on Saturday, the other days were dry. I thought we were out, so we didn't go on the other creamy or wet days. But EWCM on Saturday and we BD'ed. Time will tell...wouldn't it be awesome to get a BFP for christmas???

Well, my temp is back UP again. I seriously don't know what's up with this chart. I guess we'll go with the O, so TM please move me to waiting to test 12/24.

A Christmas Eve BFP would be so lovely, no?

I broke my leg this weekend, so I'll be here thinking about testing, lol. I really don't think I am PG. The cycle is so weird. But who knows. At least it's way too much work to get to the bathroom, so I won't be wanting to POAS 18 times a day.

tiff Ouch on the leg!! Wishing you a speedy recovery! Hope you caught your egg too.
Annette Yay for great numbers! Sending sticky vibes your way but looking great so far!
kopper So sorry again for your loss, and that the bleeding is bad.

dancn, mindy, mel, sea, jenn, aka, tiff, kemaji, JLR, kanga, annette, kopper, julss, heather, jill, katie, chi, taylandra, hunbun, and anyone else I may have missed... THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the well wishes and sticky vibes!!
I called the RE today and they sent me in for a beta and progesterone level. The beta was 41.1, which is positive. She said they like to see a 14DPO beta of 50, but I'm only 13DPO so she said that's why it's a little low. They'll have the progesterone level tomorrow, and send me some double-strenght supps if needed. I go in Wednesday for a repeat beta.
So I'm feeling a bit better about things but don't think I'll rest easy until I get Wednesday's results.

I saw my new OB/GYN today and she was great. She took a blood sample to check my progesterone, thyroid and a few other items. Even though I'm not charting we decided to check my progesterone, assuming I O'd approximately 7 days ago. If we are not successful this month we'll start Clomid and DH will have an SA. At that point we'll decide the next step and she mentioned IUI if needed.

I'm glad I switched doctors. She seems much more proactive than my previous dr. and I got a great vibe from the office and staff.

Goddess Tiff
12-18-2007, 09:02 PM
That's great, Stacey, I'm glad you are getting somewhere!

I am unsure about my chart and how crazy it looks. It's so up and down, despite my meticualously consistent temping, that I'm wondering if I really even O'd. I went to the dr a couple weeks ago and saw someone else because mine was on leave. He thinks I may have PCOS, as she does, but that right now he's just sure I'm oligovulatory, meaning I don't always O. He said my chart from last cycle was great and he's sure I O'd with that one. So I don't know if I have O'd this time, regardless of FF calling it, because the temps are so crazy.

ABirney

I got my progesterone results today... 20.6, they like it to be over 15. So looking good there. I have my repeat beta tomorrow.

ABirney - fantastic news!!

aka - I am so glad the appointment went well. Makes a big difference when you have a proactive doctor :)

I'm 9 DPIUI and having really severe cramping and back pain so I know I am out yet again. Just have to wait till Monday when I can stop the progesterone and get AF going.

Annette
12-19-2007, 05:33 AM
Abirney-Yay for good progesterone! Yay on the refund too! Here's hoping we both get good repeat betas today.

mel-I wouldn't count yourself out yet till AF shows. I hope she doesn't.

Tiff-Can you get a progesterone test to see if you O'd? Wouldn't it be great if there was an OTC progesterone test to check ovulation?

aka-yay for your doctor being proactive. I hope you get answers soon.

missy329
12-19-2007, 06:45 AM
Good morning everyone.

Melandtim- You are not out yet. I know it is hard to keep the hope month after month. I so hope this is your month!

ABirney- Hooray for the good results and for the refund!

Goddess Tiff- I do see an overall shift in temps. Hopefully the next few days will make it clearer.

Aka- Sounds like your new OB/GYN is great! Glad you are happy with the switch.

I called my RE to see about my progesterone results from last month. I knew that they had never called me- but I figured "no news is good news". Well, I guess to get results you have to call a 1-800 number, put in their code, and my SS#. No one had ever explained all that to me so I was just waiting for someone to call me. All my other test results were given to me in person at appointments for other things. Anyway, the test was done on 8DPO and the progesterone level was 8. They said they want at least 15. They said the Dr will discuss it with me at my follow-up appt (which I haven't made yet). The thing that bugs me is that the results were in the system on Nov 28 and I didn't know it. I feel like this cycle is doomed now because of the low progesterone. I did go out and buy progesterone cream yesterday and am holding out hope that it might help? I guess I will see in about a week.

missy: I just scanned your charts. Your LP is a tad bit on the short side, but it doesn't seem like you spot before AF comes so maybe the low progesterone isn't as big of a concern? Anyhow, nothing new here with me. DH and I still have yet to start our shopping. So we are pretty much screwed we will be doing it every day of the weekend. Ahhh, so annoying. Anyhow, I called my OB to see what I need to do to send my records to the RE, adn it costs freakin 25 dollars to have them send that over there! What is that about. Next time I say its for myself. Whatever......So our RE appt is Jan 8th. I figure wiht the holidays coming up I am goign to blink my eyes and it will be here! I culdnt' tell you what cd I am on adn I dont' even knwo if I o'd! How's your 2ww going?

dancn: I'll also be doing shopping this weekend. More for DH's side as he's ALWAYS last minute
And yeah, that's crap about the $25 for records. My GYN sent them for free to my RE and when I got copies from my RE last time I was there (still thinking about a second opinion) they were also free.

melandtim - I'm still hoping for you.

missy - I'm so sorry to hear about the miscommunication with the doctor's office! I hate that it can be so difficult to get the information you really need. I hope you'll be able to stay positive about this cycle in spite of your worries.

mindy - Isn't it nice to see those temps stay up? Here's hoping the 2ww goes by quickly for you and brings you good news!

sea- My 2ww is going great actually, its a lot faster than I remember last month's being. My temps are stable..hoping that means something....I may sneak and test on Sat which would be 9dpo, I have a bunch of internet cheapies, so why not!

Im not too worried about getting a BFN for Xmas, because seriously Ive seen a BFN every month for the last 17 cycles, so yeah I would be disappointed but I dont know any better you know? (At least thats how Im coping at the moment)

12-19-2007, 11:34 AM
Good Luck to everyone!

I'm not sure what's up. Either I didn't O or I O'd later than I thought. FF says I'm on 19 dpo - I got a BFN this morning and still no sign of AF. I guess there coud be a possibility that I O'd on CD 28 (instead of 20) so that would make me 11 dpo. If cd 28 was the magic day then we have little to no shot with our timing so I'm patiently waiting to move on to my next cycle. :(

ABirney & Annette- Hurray for good numbers!

Dancn- A friend of mine was also charged $25 for her chart. Actually, it was $25 and then .20 for each page after 20 pages (or something strange like that). Some states allow for dr's to do that, as silly as it is. Sorry that happened to you too. :(

To those in the 2ww- Good luck!!! I'm crossing all crossables!

Mel- I hope that you aren't out this month. Like someone else said, it's not over until you see AF!

Sea- Good to see you! I'll keep those maturing eggs in my thoughts!

My temperature has been *much* lower the past few days. I think it has to do with the temperature in the apartment, even though I use the same amount of blankets and I feel warm. I guess there's not a whole lot I can do about that though. Hopefully it doesn't mess up an O interpretation (hurry up, O!). Still waiting here...

Sorry I have been so MIA! Last month was pretty tough on me and I just needed to take a little break. I have been checking in...just not feeling up to posting.

Congrats to Annette and ABirney for terrific numbers!! Wishing you lots of sticky vibes and a very happy and healthy nine months!!

Work has been insane. And today (CD 9) was the first day I temped this cycle. I have been using my FM, so I can't say that I haven't been totally paying attention, just a little less obsessed, but I think it is because I feel defeated. I feel like so much in my life (like looking for a new, not so insane job as mentioned above) are on hold till I am able to get PG. Ahhh!!! I'm a total planner, so this is really hard for me.

Wishing all those who are testing in the next few weeks lots of luck!!! A wishing for lots of BFPs this month!

Congrats Annette and ABirney!

I don't know what's going on with me. FF gave me crosshairs on the 14th, but I am not really convinced. I've had hardly any CM (much less than usual) and I never got a positive OPK. I am super stressed right now b/c I own my own business and this is our busy time so I am thinking maybe I am having a delayed O due to that. I just can't wait until the 26th- I leave for vacation and then I can relax!:)
Anyway, here is a link to my chart:
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/42e5f

The open circles were all mornings where I temped 1 hr earlier except CD16- that was 40 min. late.

Well, I'm confident that I O'd and I'm probably around 4DPO right now. I'll probably be testing the 30th or 31st.

Gia -- It's hard to say, but your temps seem awfully low to be post-O temps for you, especially compared to your last chart. Also, ideally, your coverline would be close to the same month to month. That doesn't usually change by .3 from one month to the next. Also, what do the open circles mean (ie, did you test early or late)?

HunBun -- I hope you caught the egg!

akacharlotte -- At least you're getting some answers and have a plan of attack.

Good luck to everyone who is in the 2WW!

Will you look at my chart? Here's the link
http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/186913
Compared to last month, my coverline is really high. It has never been this high. It is always around 97.6 to 97.7ish. WDYT??? I'm 6 dpo and my temps are staying up. I didn't change anything, same pajama's, same temp in the room (actually I had to turn it down to 68 last night, 69 or 70 was TOO hot, that's not normal for me!). As a matter of fact, I think I this month has been my best temping month for me as in consistency and the same time. Today's temp was 1 hour early.

Not kemaji, but I looked at your chart and I think that perhaps you didn't actually O until CD19 last cycle. If you changed the coverline to correspond with that O date, it would also be high like this month's.

Hi ladies,

Just popping in to say that I will be joining you again soon for my next cycle. This cycle I could not chart but I will be back to charting again. I am just waiting for AF so I can begin on CD1. I am on CD31 and still no AF. I don't have any cramping so I am wishing that if it is coming, it would hurry up and come already.

I don't know if I O'ed and when and if our timing was good or any of that since we just decided to SWH this month.

I haven't had any sypmtoms really to indicate I am pregnant. All I have had is being *totally* exhausted and also my stomach muscles have been very sore, which is a common symptom of CCers in the Pregnancy Symptoms thread.

So anyway, for now you can put me as 2WW since I am still waiting for AF.

Good luck to everyone else!

Goddess Tiff

Sorry for the spotting, MPC. I am also 12DPO. My wacky temps have been above the coverline consistently now but not real high. Last cycle I started spotting on 12DPO, so we'll see. I haven't tested yet and I am determined to wait for Christmas Eve - unless of course I star spotting my then again.

MPC, I will be hoping that spotting is not AF.

Still no AF.

I didn't test today because DH bought me a box of tests last night and then this morning I had to pee so bad that I didn't want to wait until DH woke up and I didn't want to wake him. So I figured one more day of waiting wouldn't kill me.

But something else is killing me. BACK PAIN. OMG!!!!!!!! I threw my back out this morning. I have been in bed ALLL day. I just got up to see if walking helped. Im all hunched forward and to the side.

I can't even take anything. :( :( :(

not desperate, take some tylenol, if you are pg, it wont hurt...stay away from ibuprofen.

mindy2137
12-23-2007, 07:48 AM
Well crap, I think I have a UTI or BLADDER INFECTION!!!!! I'm bummed. I hope my high temps aren't a result of a uti or bladder infection. My temp hasn't rose above a 98.6, but that is pretty high for me. I have never had a temp that high before while charting, and I usually run a low-grade fever, but that is usually at 99.1 for sure. My chart was looking SO good, and now that I think I have one of those, I feel like my temps may be high because of that. I'm trying so hard not to read into any of my symptoms. But I have been having cramping, which is unusual for me and hot flashes. I don't know.

I have a prescription on hand of Keflex because of my reoccuring uti's and/or bladder infections, which I get about 6 times a year =) It sucks. I took a pill last night and this morning. Unfortunately, I didn't know you weren't supposed to take ibuprofen and I took two last night =( I have been drinking cranberry juice and I took some of that over the counter AZO this morning. Is all of this going to mess up my chances at a BFP? I'm only 8 dpo. Check out my chart PLEASE!

12-23-2007, 08:34 AM
Katie, I took a small dose of ibuprofen in the morning! Crap! *sigh.....*

My back is still killing me. The tylenol really helped though. Dh also went to borrow my mom's heating pad. I know you are supposed to use those, but I only used it downstairs where it is freezing so my temps didn't go up and I never used it on high. It helped tremendously. She also gave DH one of those big massager things and that helped. I am still really off kilter tho, leaning to the side. I need a chiropractor badly!! Why did this have to happen the weekend before Christmas!

I took a HPT today and still BFN. I guess I will go get a blood test on Wednesday if still no AF.

I'm 2 or 3DPO. We've been bding like crazy, before EWCM, during, after, feeling exhausted between that, work, and Christmas stuff. Plan to test January 2nd (dad's birthday). Not sure if I'm going back to charting next month or not? I have a really bad sore throat so hoping it is not the beginnings of a cold. Katie, I used my last 2 ICs from earlypregnancytests.com. I am dying to take another - if my leg wasn't broken I would have already been to Walgreens and back!! DH will go for me in awhile, when he wakes up again. Since I woke him once already to hiss "Hey...I think I might be pregnant!" in his ear, lol. Stacy, I just wanted to tell you again that I'm sorry for your loss-here's hoping for a Valentine's gift!

Congrats again to everyone with a BFP!

Sorry to those who got BFN or AF...

Well, for those who have been following my chart, FF finally called O...Right in the middle of the 3 days we did not BD. :( At least we BD two days before the O FF has called, so there is still some hope. I know it will only be 11 DPO, but I will test on Dec. 31 just to see if I can squeeze in a BFP (if there is one to be had).

Merry Christmas ladies!

I forgot to update and say that my cycle ended (annov due to wisdom teeth) so I'm hoping for an earlier O this month and maybe we'll catch it! I'd really like to see a BFP before Feb since that is the 2 year mark for us.

Well, I think I ovulated. FF is calling it, saying I'm 6dpo. I haven't recorded my temps the past few days because I've been breathing through my mouth at night lately, and my temps are all funky because of it. I also think I'm going to be charting with FF now instead of Ovusoft because I just upgraded to a Mac and their software does not run on macs. So, TM, can you also update my chart to FF? Kanga Good luck this cycle
jillybean We'll be watching your chart - good luck

I'm 11 dpo and a BFN yesterday. My temps are above the coverline but holding steady the past few days.

I have been a bit gassy and constipated (which I thought might be a good sign) but things are a bit looser down there (sorry, tmi). So, that's a typical AF is coming sign for me. I have AF acne, sore bb's, and that terrible wet feeling down yonder.

Last night DH asked me if his last present for the day was that I'm pg...I felt so bad and said no, I can't tell yet, I got a bfn. I almost started crying.

Well, at 9dpo, I'm exhausted and my boobies hurt. I'm just the slightest bit queasy, yet I could still eat a horse and I've been tearing up at the drop of a hat... but it could all be nothing! It's so frustrating that PG symptoms and PMS symptoms are basically the same. Clearly, these symptoms are just here to annoy me, haha. :p

mel: I so want the third time to be the charm for you :( I know how much this sucks. Getting a BFN sucks anytime you get one but it's somehow even more crappy when you've paid $$$ for a medicated cycle, stuck yourself with needles or taken pills that turn you into Queen B!tch of the Universe, etc. HUGS, sweetie!

Missy: :( I'm so, so sorry.

Heather1029: I used to have REALLY long periods like that when I was much younger (and weighed a LOT less). I seemed to "grow" out of them when I was in my mid-20s and wasn't underweight anymore. I remember my GYN saying it wasn't a big deal. Now, my periods are pretty short *most* months and again, the RE said it's not really the duration of the bleeding that's the issue. I'd still totally bring it up to your doctor but just wanted to say don't stress too much about it until IF/WHEN you need to.
I'm still really hoping you get a BFP soon!

HunBun Hope those FPS turn into RPS!!!!! :D

me: I think I'm 5DPO and I started taking progesterone yesterday evening. I did use a trigger shot when I got a +OPK so I'm forced not to test early. The trigger shot could give me a false positive if I test before 12 days. I NEED to get my BFP this month. My older sister who was also suffering with her own infertility issues just got a Christmas miracle BFP :D and I so, so, so, so want to go through PG with her. Since we have both been dealing with fertility issues, we promised each other that we'd call the other one the moment we got the BFP. We had both been worried about getting PG first and then how to tell the other one. I can TRULY say that I'm thrilled for her. And I can truly say that I cried my eyes out after I hung up the phone with her. BUT, I cannot wait to have another niece or nephew!!!! And now I get to plan two showers this summer. A baby shower for my older sister and a wedding shower for my younger sister :D

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I'm wishing you all a peaceful, successful TTC journey in the new year!!!!!!

My DH would so agree with you!!! When we started clomid one of the nurses told my DH, "Your wife is going to turn into a crazy person for awhile. Just know that it is temporary. She won't be this way forever. You're going to have to just settle it in your head now that she will act out and be irrational and very emotional and a lot of this will be aimed at you, BUT this will pass and you will have your old wife back." I thank God for that nurse. Her telling my DH that, and most of all reassuring him that it would not last forever, has helped.

Vent coming...

I have been crying most of the morning :(

Eric (DH's BFF) has been here since Sunday kicking it and sleeping on our couch. It has thrown a kink in our lives in more ways than one. He has worn out his welcome

HE HAS GOT TO GET OUT. he has his own damn place

Dave: We can't do the deed, what if he or someone interrupt us?

I have had 2 (now 3) days of EWCM first day (Christmas) DH (damn husband) was like "we will take care of things tonight" then he f-cking falls asleep. He sleepily says "we can cuddle" Well get a f-cking hint, cuddling won't get me knocked up. Yesterday he had to talk to Eric. Sure I know he is alone for Christmas, his contract is ending and he is about to be unemployed but that is not my f-cking problem

Today I have a peak on the FM and tried to get him up but with a houseful, he can't get in the mood. I am one day away from my next bday and time is NOT on my side. I will probably get a happy face on the opk but I don't have a smile on my face.

I know some of it is you can't get a man to get it up on demand but I can't help being angry, depressed, frustrated and taking the sh-t personally!

I guess we should just toss this month and consider it a wash. :(

Happy F-cking birthday to me! :(

APhiJill-I'm so sorry. That sucks. I totally understand. One of our first cycles DH went out with some buddies and got totally sh*tfaced drunk and stayed out WAY too late to BD, so needless to say I was so pissed at him. Just hang in there, DTD when you can and keep your cool. There's not much more to do, ya' know?

Welcome to our new members!

So sorry for those that AF found and those that received BFNs for Xmas. Total bummer.

me-so i have had the WORST few weeks at work, and I just haven't been able to temp properly. My FM is still on low and today is CD 16 (I usually O on CD 17 and 18) so it looks like the stress probably caused a delayed ovulation again. :( I am totally confused because I have been having some cramps on my left side several times today and they feel like "O" cramps and I did have a little bit of EWCM this morning, so maybe O is not too far away.

I have a question: this morning I got some EWCM, but by the time I got home to BD with DH tonight my CM was back to creamy. What does this mean? Should I only be BDing when I have the EWCM or watery CM?!?

TIA for your help!

APhiJill- Ugh...I'm so sorry you have to deal with that situation. We're still trying to be "casual" about TTC even with the charting, so it's hard when he's stressed out due to work and I can't get him to BD (hence our little hole right when I O'd). It sucks even more that you have company-how long has he been staying there? Surely he understands that there is a certain point where he needs to move on (at least for a few days to give you guys a break) or talk openly about the situation with you. :(

MMH- Welcome back!

Chi- I don't have a good answer for you, but the one time we did get pregnant, I did not have EWCM...I don't have it that often and it doesn't always correspond with O. I know it's pretty important though...I would say go ahead and BD-maybe there is still some EWCM around to help out.

Stacy- I hear you on the SO thing...I'm lucky if I do it once a week and then I feel bad b/c I know I didn't get to everyone!

Me- Still hanging out at 7DPO...Had a lot of lower back pain, which is unusual, and some strange "pain" in the stomach area. Not quite cramps, but that's what I'm calling them since they don't come and leave quickly. We'll see, I guess!

Well...I just knew that something was not right with my body during this TTC roller coaster. As you may recall, my U/S came back okay, my CD 3 b/w was fine, but I just got a message from my doctor. My 7dpo progesterone tests came back and it was only 4.2. Apparently this doesn't show "strong signs of ovulation". The doctor told me to call him back to "discuss next steps". UGH!

I just don't understand...my FM went to peak last month, I had EWCM, positive OPKs and my temp shifted. Unfortunately my cell phone was dead today so I didn't get the messsage till I got home tonight and now I won't be able to get answers until Wednesday. :(

I am just soooo bummed. I have to say that I am not surprised, I knew something was up, but I am so increadibly bummed. My FM was on high today, so I should BD, but now I feel like "why bother, its not going to work anyways." Anyone else have low progesterone like this? I suspect that it means he will probably put me on Clomid.

sea74
12-28-2007, 09:57 PM
chi: I just don't understand...my FM went to peak last month, I had EWCM, positive OPKs and my temp shifted.
This is a good think because it means you're Oing on your own which is a HUGE part of the battle.
Yes, your progesterone is low and I can SOOOOO relate, but there are things that can easily fix that. Do you spot during your LP? That is another sign of a weak O/low progesterone.

Try not to get so down, I know that's easier said than done. There are a LOT of things they can do to give you a stronger O and like I said before, Oing on your own, as evident by your Peak readings/OPKs, temp shift, is a huge, GOOD thing. HUGS!!!!!

sea-thanks for your wisdom. That is the weird thing...I don't spot and my LP has been 13 days pretty regularly. My CD 3 b/w was fine and the doctor told me at my last visit that everything looked good. I took the test several weeks ago and just called to find out the results...really not even thinking that it would be an issue.

I am just devastated and all I can think about is that I am hosting a baby shower for a good friend next weekend. I can think of about 100 other things I rather do. That is so mean, I know, I just can't help it.

sea74
12-28-2007, 10:50 PM
It's not mean, chi. I know you're happy for your friend but when you starting thinking that you *may* have to struggle for something that comes naturally so most people, it just starts making you think and feel different.

You have a normal LP and no spotting so I'm not sure what's up with your progesterone. Are you SURE about your O date? I wonder if you could get an ultrasound done right before you O next month and see how big your follicles are. I don't know if that's even something a doctor would do, but you don't seem (to me, an UNTRAINED person) to have any classic "symptoms" of a weak O or LPD

JennZ
12-28-2007, 10:57 PM
Chi,
Just chiming in to say that just because one month shows a low progesterone number does not mean you always have a weak O.
I have been monitored several months (more times than I would like), and one month I had a 7DPO level of 4. The rest of the months were all normal- 22, 18, etc...
So if you have a high on your FM, get busy!! ;)
You may ultimately end up having to take Clomid or something, but it also could have just been a one time thing, you know?
Like Sea said, since you don't have any other signs of LPD (and I don't either), it could have just been a fluke last month.
I'm just saying don't despair! :)

chi
12-29-2007, 06:54 AM
sea and jennz- Thank you for your replies, it really does help.

That is exactly what I was thinking! It just didn't make sense to me. I guess I always thought it was whether or not you O'd, not how strong it is. I hope Jennz is right, that it was a one time only thing.

My doctor told me to get the test done on CD25 because of my longer cycles (30-31 days), I went on CD 25, but I think that it was actually 8 dpo. Could this have effected the results SO dramatically?

My doctor is pretty proactive and he'll probably do whatever I want him to do regarding testing, so I guess that is good. I know I just need to take a deep breath, but my mind is racing with thoughts of how much this will all cost because my insurance won't cover a thing and the cost of everything just adds to the stress. I also have a fairly demanding job and the doctor's office and lab are all the way across town, so the thought of how much time this will take is a little off-putting.

As for the baby shower. Did I mention that this is a friend who got PG her first month trying and who is fairly insensitive to the fact that DH and I have been trying for several months without success? I think I will have to have mimosas on hand.

wookiee -- Guilty by association, huh? I've been meaning to change my avatar. :)

As for me, AF is imminent. I didn't bother temping this morning because I had my pre-AF headache yesterday, plus I've been feeling crampy.

We ordered the Fertell test (http://www.fertell.com/) and DH did his part a couple days ago. According the the instructions, any line means he has a count in the normal range. Well, DH's line was barely a line...it was more like a whisper of a line, so of course now I want him to go in and get all worked up so we can know specific numbers. I'll do my part on CD3.

I really want to catch up and give shout outs, and I will later or in the morning. I just wanted everyone to know that I'm on 14 dpo and no AF, but major temp dip BELOW the coverline this am. I'm pretty sure I'm start tomorrow as my average lp 14 days. I'm cramping like crazy and pretty much feel like crap. If my temp wouldn't have dropped this am I would think MAYBE I'm pg, but not now. kemaji So sorry about AF, it sucks.

chi It does sound like woman who have alot more knowledge than I are all over your post, and the information sounds great. I wander if my progestrone is low. Oh, maybe not, but can you use progestrone cream instead of clomid? Just a thought.

As for me, AF bright and early this am. I didn't bother temping, as I as rudely awaken at 4am with good 'ole red-headed aunt edna visiting :(

Truthfully, this is so hard. I know I said I was prepared, and I'm not crying but this just so sucks.

How do you ladies do it? Month after month after month of trying and trying and trying and coping with the fact that it doesn't happen? I've been off bcp for over a year, but charting since Feb and doing the lets just have sex when we want (because we really want a baby, but DH is scared to be like yeah, let's try hard, every single month, with perfect timing, you know? He seems to think a 'planned accident' would be better!?! He's crazy!) Anyway just for the past 2 months actually good timing and trying and getting my hopes up, it's so hard. I've had every symptom in the book, bloated, gassy, sore boobs, cramps, had it all. I'm very, very impatient when it comes to things like this. Having a baby is supposed to be easy (or that's the way they make it sound in health class). I suppose because I'm a planner I expected it to happen sooner (but in the back of my mind kept thinking, it will take months). It's very hard emotionally. It feels like I'm just shutting down to the rest of the world and focusing everything on TTC, and I don't mean to.

I know, I know there are women all over this board who have been going at it for months, like 7, 10, 18, 24 and they just keep trying. I would like to say, I admire your strength and endurance. I respect you, on a totally new level. I'm not sure how you do it, but you ARE AWESOME, you ARE.

I know have tears in my eyes, I know this will happen for us, it will. We are going at it strong this month, taking mucinex and whatever else I need to do. I clearly O so that's good.

PS tm, please move me to waiting to O, thanks!

Mindy- *hugs* to you! I'm a planner too, so it's very frustrating to me for the same reasons you listed. We got pregnant so easily SWH in July and now it seems to be a struggle. I just keep telling myself there is only a 20% chance each month, but it still sucks. Hopefully you won't be around this thread much longer!

BFN this morning...But it is 10DPO, so we'll see. I have one more free test, so I'll use that in the morning and then see if AF arrives on Tuesday as scheduled. If not, I'll go buy a test for Wednesday.

Mindy, I empathize more than I can say. We haven't been at this that long either, but it's still so disappointing every time it doesn't work out. Plus, freaking PMS and hormones messing with our emotions doesn't help us deal with the disappointment at all, right? It's hard, it really is.

AF hasn't shown up yet for me, but my temp dropped this morning, so I'm expecting AF at any moment now.

CD1 for me today! I am excited for this next month. Hopefully the new year will bring us some BFP!

Please move me to "waiting to O"!

Thanks!

Mindy - I hear you... I am a true planner and things were going right on track - got pg on our 3rd month of trying, carried to 10 weeks and had a m/c. It sucks that we can't control what is going on. BIG HUGS!

Me - our Christmas is finally over. *whew* Temps seem to be back to "normal" (as in when we first started charting.) One normal cycle is behind us so we are officially TTC now. Just a couple more days and we will be bding like crazy!

Minday: My heart goes out to you. Getting the negative is NEVER easy, whether you've been trying a short time or a long time. As for how women get through it month after month ... well, you just do. Some how, some way. And it ain't always graceful either :o In the back of my mind I thought we'd have to try a little longer to get PG, like maybe six cycles at the most, but now, being three times past that time frame, it truly sucks. I just keep my eyes on the reward that will someday be at the end of the journey.
I hope a BFP comes your way soon :)

Alright upcoming testers: I'd love to see the end with a few more BFPs. Anyone testing tomorrow?

I'm frustrated! AF is not here yet at CD36. I'm beginning to think this cycle was anov. I keep testing just for the sake of testing and keep getting a BFN. This is my luck. I have the meds to start and my body decides to screw with me. It figures.

What is everyone doing in regards to temping tomorrow morning? We're having a big party at my house, and there's no way I'll be going to bed before 3! My temp tomorrow will be WAY off, and what sucks is that today (CD18) is my typical O day!

Heather: We're also hosting a party at our house and won't get to bed at any reasonable. However, I'm in the 2ww so my temps are not as crucial.

If this is your typical O time, get in some BDing before you start running around to get the house ready. Use OPKs and CM to help confirm any O that happens today. Then, temp as close to your normal time as you can. If your normal time is less than four hours after going to bed after guests leave, then I'd set your alarm for an hour or so later and then temp. Make a note on your chart regarding the time/temp. BUT ABOVE ALL ELSE cover your bases and get to BD w/your DH before you have guests over. I hope your new years starts off with a BFP!!!! Oh, and this is just what *I* would do. Not like it's the "official" direction for temping late after a party ;)

I'm peeved. I didn't get cross hairs on FF today...WTF?

AphilJill- If you either discard CD 16 temp, it will give you crosshairs, or if you change your detector to OPK it will give you crosshairs, otherwise it will wait til tomorrow. HTH

thanks Katie! :)

Yup, that did it!

I took the temp over an hour earlier than I should have (it was discarded on TCOYF)--nature called at an ungodly hour...I had to adjust it so I probably shoulda discarded it in the first place

Tiff Congrats!!

I'm back home hanging out around 9-11 DPO? I've had a terrible cold all week. Think I'll try to wait until this weekend to test, expecting AF early next week.

Happy New Year everyone! Here's to many more BFPs in 2008!:D
