Hey there- i am in search of the best frozen pie crust (actually, even just pre-made)! I will be making my mom's pumpkin pie recipe but have never made a homemade crust (and won't have time to try).
Can anyone suggest a good frozen pie crust- or even just a pre-made one?
TIA for your help! :)

I really like the Pillsbury unroll and bake pie crusts. I get to use my own nice pie pans (not the cheapy tin foil kind the frozen ones come in) and I can make the crust look like I actually made it.

Seriously, a homemade crust is incredibly easy and fast - it takes no time at all. It's well worth making for the difference in taste.
But barring that, the refrigerated dough isn't TOO bad. I have not found a frozen crust that I can even stand to eat.

I usually make my own, but recently tried one from Whole Foods and it was great. You'd never know it wasn't homemade.

Of those I've tried, the Pillsbury refrigerated is the way to go. I'm going to have to try the Whole Foods one, though. Faking the pie crust is one shortcut I'm definitely following this year.

ANOTHER vote for the Pillsbury ones. I do the exact same thing as petdoc! :)

Another vote for the Pillsbury. I've used it a few times and I thought it was really good.

The best I've found is Trader Joe's, followed by Pillsbury

Dumb question I guess, but where in the grocery store do you find the pillsbury unroll-able pie crusts? I looked today by the biscuits/etc and didn't see them. maybe my store was out??

I just picked up some tonight. In my store, they were with the rest of the Pillsbury stuff, but on a lower shelf. I had expected to see them with the other Thanksgiving specials, and was a little surprised not to.

I like the deep dish Pillsbury pie crust (in the freezer section) and I have tried the Kroger brand which is just as good. I haven't tried the one that you unroll but I may try that this year instead. I know Martha Stewart has an easy recipe that she uses her food processor to make. If I have time, I may try that since I love to make things from scratch.

Hmm, I will try looking at another store. I was at our Walmart Neighborhood Market. I love that store, but they're sometimes spotty about having everything I need.

I like the frozen Pillsbury. Must try Whole Foods, though!

Thanks for the suggestions/recommendations!
I couldn't find the frozen pillsbury ones- they only had some store brand name in the frozen section.
The Whole Foods one- any particular name on it? I'm curious to try that one in addition to the refridgerated pillsbury.
Thanks again!!!! :p

The Whole Foods one I think is their brand. They only sell one kind, though.

janders6 Thanks so so much for the Whole Foods frozen pie crust suggestion! It was really very good (better tasting and flakier than the pillsbury roll-out one).
Thanks again- now i know! :)
