Hello everyone,
I will be traveling in Paris (3 days) London (3 days) and Rome (3 days) in the beginning of March 2007. I'm trying to figure out what type of clothing we should take for that time of season.
Also suggestions for good walking shoes would be great.
Thanks in advance!!! :D

It will be cold and rainy that time of year. I'd definitely bring warm clothes, including gloves, scarf and hat. A nice raincoat and umbrella are a good idea as well. Not to scare you-- I've been in Paris that time of year and the rain and cold definitely did not prevent me from thoroughly enjoying the city.
As for shoes, I swear by Merrell (http://www.merrellboot.com/Shop/Gallery.aspx?AltNavID=WCF-G-SLP) shoes. I think they're the most comfortable things ever for walking in Europe, and they have many styles that will fit in nicely in the cities. I have the "Spire Stretch Waterproof" style. There's another good thread you might want to check out for ideas:

"Cold" is relative, but I agree with rainy :). I often go to London around that time of year, and it's probably in the 50s. I bring a raincoat, and layers, and am fine.
I also agree about the Merrells--I hate wearing sneakers in Europe, but I need really comfy shoes with all of the walking.

50s is pretty good! When I was in Paris in March several years ago it was in the low 40s/high 30s. Brrrrrr!
It might be warmer in Rome since it's further south. Haven't been that time of year, though.

I've been to Rome that time of year and it was in the 60s and rainy. But it made it awesome because not only were there very few tourists, but even the locals were mostly inside :)

Its still pretty cold in Paris at that time of year - and even if it feels warm(er) to you, the Parisians will still be bundled to the nines! LOL You could get away with a lighter jacket if you wore a layer or two - and I would most definitely bring a scarf and gloves. And I wouldn't be caught traveling in Europe that time of year without an umbrella.

We were just in Paris last March. Rained one day, sunny and high 60s the next, and 50s the other. Like others said, umbrella, warm jacket (but I would stay away from huge and bulky) and a hat. We walked so much however, that I don't remember feeling cold. But how can you feel anything but wonderful in Paris????
