Charting Our Course to the BFPs
http://www.ripleysorlando.com/images2/fertilitystatues.jpg
The fertility statues are known to work for some who rub them around the time of possible conception.
It is said that the baby is the most potent part of the statue.
So rub away! :D It's worth a shot!
Who we are:
This is a group of women using charting (temperatures, CM, CP, OPK/FM results, or a combination of these) to try to conceive and, along the way, are learning a heckuvalot about their own bodies! Many of us use a software program to keep track of our charts as well as allowing us to share them with each other. The most common ones are FertitlityFriend.com and Ovusoft.com.
Your threadmistress for this thread is Baby Lust!
If you have any questions, comments or suggestions, feel free to email me! (charting_is_knowledge@yahoo.com)
To our members:
This thread gets very busy at times, so in order to keep things less overwhelming and a bit more organized, we start a new thread each month as well as after 3 BFPs. A link to the new thread is always posted at the end of the current thread to help everyone find their way over. The threadmistress would really appreciate it if everyone would post their updates in Red. That way, if I get a bit behind, it is much quicker to get the thread up-to-date.

KNOWLEDGE IS POWER!
Want to join the fun??
We welcome one and all. It doesn’t matter if you have never charted before or if you’ve been charting to avoid. I am sure you will find lots of help and support in this group.
If you would like to join, CD1 is the time to do it! That way, we can cheer you on
throughout your cycle, rather than 2 days before you test!
Please don't be discouraged by the number of posts in this thread. You don’t have to read the whole thread to join. Feel free to just jump in on the last page. Just read through these first couple of posts and post a reply with the following information and we will get you added right away. Of course, none of this info is a must but we like to know a little bit about one another.

Things I Have Learned About TTC
by WC's Sherylb
* TTC is a journey. You will discover things about yourself that you never expected. You will face fears you never thought you had. You will find joy in little things.
* TTC can bring you closer to your DH, or it can pull you apart. If your marriage is not solid, you will find out quickly.
* No one understands exactly what you are feeling at any given moment, but someone can empathize at least a little bit.
* You will experience an emotional roller coaster ride. There will be highs and lows and fast moments and slow. Sometimes you have to wait in a very, very slow moving line. You may not even get the seat you want. It is not always fun, it can be scary, but in the end it is worth it.
* "Just relax" is the last thing in the world you want to hear from someone, but it is OK if you say it about yourself.
* There will be moments when you question your own decision to start TTC. You will wonder if you should wait or if you should just give up. Those are normal. But you will get past those feelings.
* The blue and green turtle likes to pop its head out! You will hear of someone's pregnancy and turn green with envy and blue inside because it isn't you.
* It isn't fair, it isn't easy, and it isn't pretty. But you keep doing it because the reward is worth it.
* You will be your best friend and your worst enemy. Your body will
surprise you and yet disappoint you.
* Some women do get lucky and conceive right away. Others aren't so lucky and have to struggle to get there. Hope you will be in the first category, but prepare yourself to be in the second.
* Once you decide to TTC, there will be babies and pregnant women everywhere! You could swear there is a baby boom going on!
* You will have questions. No one will ever be in exactly your position, so don't be surprised when no one can give you exactly the answer you are looking for. But there are people that can contribute, so don't be afraid to ask!
* Two lines on a pregnancy test is not the end of the struggle. Pregnancy has lots of struggles in and of itself.

- Common TTC abbreviations
This is a list of some of the more common TTC abbreviations. I know as a newcomer to the TTC threads, it can be hard to keep them all straight. I hope these will help, and if anyone has any they would like added, please let me know!
•2WW: "2 week wait" - The approximate time from possible conception to menstruation due date; Pregnancy tests should be taken near the end of the 2WW.
•AF: "Aunt Flo"; Your period; Menstruation
•AFNW: "Aunt Flo Not Wanted"; the day your period is expected to start, but you are hoping it doesn't!
•AO: anovulatory (cycle without ovulation)
•BBs: "boobs"; breasts
•BBL: "be back later"
•BBT: Basal Body Thermometer; This is used to measure your basal body temperature, when you wake up in the morning, after at least 3 hours of sleep, before you start to move around; Use a special BBT thermometer to take your temperature because they measure the small changes in temperature from day to day more accurately than the regular fever thermometers.

Woohoo! Fresh start! I think we all could use this.
Ok ladies...I had a dream last night that I gave birth to a baby girl. It was so real, it was freaky. Now I am several days away from O-ing so it probably isn't a sign for me, but maybe that means that one of you will get a BFP in the next couple of days! Who knows? I'm off to stalk some charts to see if my dream could mean anything for any of you. ;)

Ok ladies! Let's get this month going! We need some BFPs to offset all the bad vibes we have been having lately!
Nothing new for me... I haven't been temping more than a day here and there because we have been so busy with everything. Still no computer at home...waiting for a battery from Dell. We are moving tomorrow so that has kept us plenty busy! We hope to be settled in by this weekend so life can return to normal, then on the 14th we are leaving for Seattle! :D Wheee!!! Very excited about that!
Must do some work! :o Later!

I can't keep up!!! Let's see...
Caroline, I am so sorry. :( Please take good care of yourself.
I'm sorry to all those visited by the witch.
Melissa (lcw), Have fun at the beach & good luck not obsessing. You are lucky you don't know your lp right now; makes it much easier to enjoy yourself.
ds2003, if I were you, I'd have DH hide them. But it probably wouldn't do me any good; I'd be trying to sneak off to the store
amurphy, you're darn right you shoudn't have to suffer these symptoms alone! I hope you were able to convey that to DH in a calm, rational manner (hmmm... irritablity with one's spouse... yet another PS).
polkadot, see above ;) Chart still looks good. Is FF calling it triphasic?
Good luck, Klav!
Melissa (sg), I completely understand your desire to fulfill the apparent empty void. My mother has been ill for many years with a degenerative disease that's killing her slowly. Her health has a huge effect on my desire to have children, partly to fill the void that's already growing as she fades, and also to have a child before she passes. It's a very emotional issue for me.
Shelby, sorry about AF. But to address your question earlier, sleep disturbances don't necessarily send a temp higher, and they may not affect it at all. Everyone & every instance is different. The best you can do is just note that it may be disturbed.
jen (jjsanner), wow, you remembered! I feel like it's been ages since that thread. It's weird to think of how many of us are now TTC, pg & have kids.
I'm sorry if I missed anyone!

Ahh a new month, a new thread!
I am currently on CD 21 and and *think* I may have O'ed on CD 18, although my chart is not showing it yet. Based on my CM ans slight temp change I am thinking CD 18.
I am not relying so much on temps yet because I get up 1-2x a night to use the bathroom, but don't temp until 6:00a when I really get up. Next month I will have to temp in the middle of the night when I first get up because I never get 3 hours sleep after, my 6am temp may be off.
I don't know, this is my first cycle charting!

Uh oh, just took an OPK and the line is definitely less dark than yesterday -- guess I O'd at some point last night or this morning?? Is there any point trying to er... seduce DH asap? We're also getting tired of this BD marathon. Never thought making babies was such an exhausting and nerve-wracking process...
Thanks for the new thread, threadmistress!

Welcome, uskiku!
mel7dog, don't stop BDing until you know for sure you've O'd! Both CD18 & CD20 look like possible O dates, but it could also be a delayed O. You're right about waiting a few cycles to better understand your temps. I've learned that for me, the time I temp isn't as important as temping after undisturbed sleep. And like you, I rarely have a night of undisturbed sleep. But you may also end up temping much higher during your LP and find that the slightly rocky pre-O temps are workable.

US, A +OPK means you will O in 24-36 hours so you may not have O'd yet. I would definitely keep BDing like troopers until you see that temp jump! I know it gets tiring but knowing that your chances are maximized is a much better feeling!! So seduce away! :D
Mart, Thanks! It is a very draining process! Glad your outlook on this cycle is positive! That's what it takes to keep going!

Subscribing... CD 11, hopefully will get an O later this week. DH has asked me every morning since AF "What's your temp today? Is that good?" :)
I've been having pain off and on, on both sides of my abdomen, since my period stopped. My mind keeps thinking maybe it's cysts, I don't know why. I really should go into the doctor, but I don't know what they'd do. I noticed that my last annual exam was last August, so I'm due for another anyways. I am going to stretch it out and go in if/when we get to 6 months TTC or I get a +, whichever comes first.
Good luck to all you ladies in the coming month. :)

I was wondering why I wasn't getting notifications-- there's a new thread! :D
I'm on CD10...woo-hoo! If my cycle returns to normal, I should O sometime this week. If not, then I'm wasted a lot of money on OPKs :)
I did, however, go to the Dr. today. Since my body has been so wacko lately, my Dr. scheduled an ultrasound for 8/16-- if things show up "normal" (like the last time I had an ultrasound- about a year ago for this very same issue) then he's going to put me on a low dosage of Clomid-- since that worked for me last year (though, last year my Dr. did want me taking it for more than a month because he didn't "believe in it" or some crap-- obviously I am now going to a different Dr!).
I'm just happy I'm making some progress :D I still plan on temping/charting, of course!

Thanks for the great new thread! I also love the name. I can't believe we are on page 4 already!
I'm WAY behind on SOs.
So sorry for such a tough time Caro and Spencer's_Girl. I wish there were words to make it better.
I could be in the Temporarily TTA category. Just for this month. I have a lap scheduled on 8/26 and obviously don't want to be pregnant for that! I finally found a doctor who will listen to me and my symptoms. So, they are looking for endometriosis. Just glad someone listened to me.
So, hopefully, that will solve health problems and help TTC! Of course, DH is being a bit of a pain about the GYNs suggestion that he go ahead and get an SA just in case. That way we would know the best way to use those 4-5 months that conception will be easier after the lap. DH is not so amused at the thought of "going to the lab" so soon. Ah well. Feeling a bit nervous about surgery and about what they may find but glad to be scheduled for it, just the same.
Sorry to all those AF found. . can't wait to see some August BFPs!

Ditto this, God foorbid we imply there might be something amiss with the swimmers!
I've been away for the past several days (not that I'm a terribly regular poster anyways...I feel like I have one catastrophically boring cycle) but I just saw Caro's bad news. :( I know you don't know me, Caro, but I remember your posts from the WC of old and was very happy for you. I'm very sorry about your miscarriage.
As for my funky hormones, I managed to temp while away, and things have been a bit higher so I guess I can commit tothe fact that I O'd. I don't really understand why I am getting + OPKs, then a rise, and then a dip...delayed O? I don't know. Hopefully we timed things well, but I sort of think we didn't. Plus, no EWCM. I need to investigate the Green tea possibilities. In any case,
Threadmistress, will you please move me to: Think I O'ed - Testing 8/8 - 8/14? Thanks!
I figure if I am not PG, I should know by August 8. So, if no AF, August 8 it is.

Just checking in on the new thread. I am sitting here on CD 10 just waiting to O.
My last cycle was long and annovulatory, so that kind of bums me out. Sometimes it seems like knowing so much about your body can be both empowering and depressing, doesn't it?

Lots of people testing next week! Hope we see many many BFPs!
I'm 10DPO and had a temp rise this morning(CD8=96.9, CD9=97.5, CD10=97.7). As I wrote yesterday, I'm trying to get a handle on my "symptoms." I had three bites of dinner last night before a friend came by and interrupted our meal. While the friend and my DH were outside discussing a project they are working on together, I went upstairs to lay down for a bit. When the friend left, I had no desire to continue eating. That is very unusual for me. Newest symptom: felt a sensation like bursting bubbles behind my bellybutton and itchy bbs!
As for DH, he kept asking me last night if I felt okay. I told him I was tired and felt a little quesy and then said, "But you don't want me to tell you that." He smiled and said he did want to know how I was feeling. His comment the other night was out of fear. I understand.
I'm trying to hold off testing until at least Sunday.
polkadot: I forgot to respond to your message. Don't give up hope yet. It may have been too early to test! Good luck!

Hi ladies! Sorry I went MIA again. The last week has been SO hectic. I won't even try to do shoutouts - I'm still getting to know everyone and I'm so behind in reading the thread!
Threadmistress, can you please change me to "Think I O'd, testing 8/8 - 8/14".
Yup, I'm in my first real 2WW. Last month I wasn't temping and just guessed as to a possible O date and we just BD'd randomly, but this month I've been paying attention and am pretty certain and hopeful that last Friday was The Day. We BD'd every other day, just couldn't get in every day 'cause we were too tired at night after our long days, but FF gave me crosshairs for Friday and that night we did DTD, so maybe......
Of course, I'm only at 4DPO and am already feeling phantom symptoms. My temp dropped a bit this morning and I'm having pinching kind of crampy feelings very low down..... I'm also imagining that it means AF is on her way, though, since I did have a few months of VERY short LPs. I'm trying not to obsess too much, but you ladies know how hard that is!
I'm off to read the old thread and catch up here. I hope you all are having a good day so far!
Hi girls:
Welcome to all of our new friends....
Me, I am on CD12 and as usual I will be around for awhile before I O....
So I have a question... my girlfriend is getting married in May and I am in the wedding... and I do not want to be the girl who is 9 months preggo in the wedding. She has not said a word but she knows where DH and I stand w/ wanting a baby. (If I was like 5/6/7 months that would be ok, in my mind ;) )
Since my cycles are longer I made an appt w/ the dr. to get some input. (And I am sure I will not have to worry about this because I think it will take some time before I do get pregnant) but do I stop trying for at least 2/3 months JUST In case... I am so torn. Because I want a baby (and these 2 months could be a good time to figure out what my body is doing if things are not working right... but on the off chance he swimmers do win the race and I am 8/9 months preggo.. I would feel terrible. (I know this is always an issue for woman getting married.. some do care/ some don't if their bridal party is preggo.) ugh... I guess I am rambling... and I think I am going to go to the dr. and see what she says... and go from there.... ok sorry for the long vent... :(

Starting to look like I O'ed either on day 18 or 19 even though I haven't gotten the crosshairs yet. If it is day 19, it would be my latest O yet.
In any event, if I do get confirmation, I won't be testing since our timing was completely off this month. But at least I am getting a much better idea of about when in my cycle I can expect to O.

Ryan: My 2 cents: I wouldn't want a friend of mine to put off her TTC plans to accomodate my wedding. In fact, my SIL (one of my BM) was pregnant and it wasn't an issue at all. TTCing is so unpredictable. I don't know if "putting it off" 2-3 months is worth it in the long run. Good luck making your decision. :)

CD 19 for me, still waiting for the confirmation of O.
Ryan I would continue to TTC if I were you. I also had a very pregnant (9 months!) SIL at my wedding and had absolutely no problems with it. Life doesn't stop because of a wedding... ;) Good luck!
Question about short LP : looks like my LP is going to be around 8 days, if I'm lucky. Anyone know how much magnesium and vitamin B? should I take to lenghten my LP? TIA!
Polkadot looking good!

Ryan - I would go ahead and keep TTC. There are no guarantees in life. Sure, you could get pg this cycle and end up very pregnant at the wedding. You could not get pregnant for awhile, but still end up on bed rest at the beginning of the pregnancy and not be able to attend the wedding. There are too many what-ifs for me to put it off. Seize the swimmers while you can! ;)
uskiku - I don't know how much mag. or B6. You might post in the general Family Planning to see if anyone knows. I know there are ladies who have used B6 sucessfully.
I think I'm getting ready to O. My temps have finally dropped nice and low. Just gotta try to catch that eggie! Hopefully, any day now!

Wrighty - I can't quote TCOYF. But I've been temping for almost a year now and I know that when my temps get this low (96.8 this morning) that I'm probably about to O. My temps before that were about 97.5 or so. My lowest temp is usually my O date or very near to it.

Ryan, I would def. keep TTC. I think most brides would just be thrilled for their good friend to be pregnant. I wouldn't have minded a very pregnant BM at my wedding.
Question for you experienced charters: I usually wake up and temp at 6 am, but I rarely sleep through the night before that. I wake up (and basically go right back to sleep) anywhere from 2 - 5 times a night. Should I temp the first time I wake up (assuming it's at least 3 hours after I go to sleep) or should I just keep up the 6 am temps? TIA!
amurphy
08-02-2005, 11:25 AM
gymwidow: I would stick to the 6 a.m. temp. I also wake up during the night but usually fall back to sleep within 2 minutes (even those times I have to get out of bed to use the bathroom). I use my 7 a.m. (waking time) temp unless I am awake for longer than 5 minutes earlier in the morning.
Any one have any FPS to share or am I the only one obsessing?

I am so confused... My first cycle charting I O'd at CD 17. This cycle FF is saying that O'd at CD 9... this doesn't make sense to me. I am on vacation right now so maybe that has something to do with it. I have had to ovulation symtoms at all which also confuses me. We haven't been BDing since I was thinking I would be Oing around CD 17 again so if FF is correct this definately isn't our cycle. I also chart using Ovusoft and they haven't indicated me Oing yet.
Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated!
Girls: Thank you so much for your opinions and you have made me feel good about my gut instinct which is to continue trying (because I just have this feeling it is not going to be that easy for us to conceive). And I think I would kill myself after the fact if I had waited for 2 months to figure out what the problems were….
KATMG.. very good point one that I had not thought of…. You could not get pregnant for awhile, but still end up on bed rest at the beginning of the pregnancy and not be able to attend the wedding. There are too many what-ifs for me to put it off.

MMHinCA - Am I right in thinking that Ovusoft corrects your temps to a certain point, if you temp at a different time? I haven't used it, but I remember hearing that somewhere. I think you're getting higher temps because you're not temping at the same time each day, and FF thinks you O'd. I'd just continue as per usual and see what happens in the next day or two.

re: short LP
Thanks, katmg , I posted over at the Family Planning. Hopefully someone can help me, I'm getting quite anxious, especially since I realized that if I O'd on CD 19 this cycle, my LP would be more like 6 days or so...
Ryan let's see what the experienced ladies over FP board will say. I think you're just fine though, as far as I know anything shorter than 9 days is considered a problem.

08-02-2005, 01:31 PM
uskiku, the Fertility & Nutrition book recommends 200-600mgs B6. Those are really high numbers, so you may want to start on the lower end & see how your body reacts. Not sure about magnesium. TCOYF says that most PMS treatments also help with a short LP, so check out Ch. 18.
Ryan, just adding to the chorus telling you not to wait:). I would have killed my gfs if they put off TTC because of my wedding. That doesn't mean you won't be extremely uncomfortable, but I think a few days of that would be more than worth it for both a friend & a baby.
MMHinCA, don't worry; you haven't O'd yet. But it is harder to read your chart w/out the CM info. Without CM info, FF can only go by temps, & it loves to look for pre-O dips like what you appear to have. And Lizzard is correct in that OS will automatically adjust your temps if temp at the wrong time. You can change this by clicking on "Edit" then "Override Calculations." You can choose to have your temps atumomatically adjusted or not, or have OS ask you first. You can also choose the amount by which you want your temps adjusted (.1 deg is default). A vacation can easily have an effect on your temps; going to sleep & waking at different times, drinking more, more (or less) physical activity, less stress, etc. A good rule of thumb: don't rely on the software to decide when you O'd; you are a much better judge of what your body is telling you.
gymwidow, you are going to have to experiment a little to determine how much your waking up affects your temp. It may also depend on how much you actually wake up. If you just open your eyes without being fully awake, it probably won't have much of an impact. If you roll over or readjust your pillow, it might be just enough to affect your sleep cycle. For me, I've noticed dramatic temp differences when I temp undisturbed vs. disturbed, and little difference when I temp at different times. Otherwise, enjoy obsessing over symptoms :P.
Mel7dog & Wrighty26, my temps don't really get lower, but I do usually have a pre-O temp dip. FF software actually makes that one of their priorities in pegging O, even though it doesn't always happen & it doesn't happen to everyone. It isn't really something you can look for ahead of time, unless it's significantly lower than your other temps, but it can be handy in determining O after the fact.
amurphy, you're not alone:). Check out the 2ww Obsession (http://www.constantchatter.com/showthread.php?t=1930) group thread.
Good luck, katmg!
Bellefoir, wow, that's a tough call, since your pre-O temps were much higher this month than last. Was there anything different about that huge dip on Sat? Anything changed in your environment since then? Hmm. I'm stumped right now.
Dangint...running out of time right now... sorry to everyone I've missed!

Flygirl , the only thing I can think of is that I got about 6 hours sleep Fri Night/Sat Morning because we were at the ball game the night before then had to attend a funeral the next day, so it might be lack of sleep combined with the few beers we consumed. Even if I did O when I think I did, given that we were at the ILs this weekend with no privacy and hence no BDing means I am out for this month for sure, no room for doubt there.

Wow! I actually may have helped someone else in this thread! (It seems like I'm always the one asking for advice!)
MMH - I O'd last cycle on CD8! Really p!ssed me off too, since I was expecting a much later O date. However, since you haven't had any other o-signs and you're on vacation and temping at different times, I would say you probably haven't o'd. Hopefully!!
gymwidow - I agree with everyone else. Stick with the 6 am temp time. Unless I get out of bed or I'm awake for a long time, I temp right before I get out of bed. In my case, my DH wakes up first and gets a shower and then about 20 min. later I go get my shower. I "wake-up" when he gets his shower, but I doze/sleep until the alarm goes off again. I take my temp. right before I get out of bed for my shower. Does that make sense? HTH!

amurphy, flygirl, and katmg thanks! I've been charting since February and have always used the 6 am temps, so I think I'll just keep doing that. Usually when I wake up, it's just long enough to look at the clock, maybe roll over, and that's it. If I have to get up to pee or get a drink or whatever in the middle of the night, I make sure that I'll be able to get at least another 3 hours sleep, otherwise I temp before I get out of bed. Even on weekends now when I can sleep in, my body always wakes up at 6 so I can temp before going back to sleep!
I'm on my way to the 2WW obsession thread.....
I decided that even if we're not pg this cycle, if I can make it to CD30 and 10DPO then it's a success! My cycles after BCP were all so short and with such short LPs that I was worried. Hopefully this cycle is more "normal"!

Anyway, I'll try to get better.
I'm currently 4dpo, and not liking the looks of my chart AT.ALL. *sigh* We shall see. DH was so cute last night. We DTD and then he asked "so when can you get pregnant?" I was like "what do you mean?" He said "you know, when should we do it so that you can get pregnant?" I told him "four days ago, why? I thought you just wanted to go with the flow and see what happens so I wasn't telling you where I was in my cycle." He said "dammit! I just thought we'd get to do it every day so you'd have a better chance."

I'm sorry - I don't know the answer to your question Bumble. I was actually wondering something similar this past weekend when I got what *looked like* it might be my third + OPK. It actually looked like it could go either way, so I called it a negative (because that's what I wanted it to be), but I know that had it been a few days earlier, I would probably have called it a +.
My guy has actually started to make sure I wake up and take my temperature each morning (I need any help I can get as I am *so* not a morning person). And then he'll ask in the evening, "so, did your temperature do what you wanted it to?" What a sweetie. (and oh if it were only that easy to keep those temps up in the 2ww ;) )

mel7dog, be sure to share any differences you see in your temps. I woke up in the middle of the night again and actually thought to myself "No, I won't roll over and look at the clock b/c I don't want to disturb my morning temp"! hehe
Bumble, I used OPKs for the first time last week (dollar tree variety) and saw faint lines, but never dark ones, for 3 days. I stopped using them on Saturday when my temp jumped way up. I think I read somewhere that the lines get darker as you get closer to Oing, and then they fade again?
I love the DH stories! That's so cute when they get all involved. Mine is still pretty clueless as to the whole thing, but he definitely shows his excitement about TTC. He asked me yesterday when we'll find out if this was our month. I told him we had to wait at least another week and he said "But I want to know NOW!" I told him he wasn't the only one!
I'm at 5DPO today and my temp went back up after diving down below the CL yesterday. I'm going to try not to obsess too much about it today. Easier said than done, right...

Still sitting here twiddling my thumbs, waiting for O to come. I'm sitting here drinking my glass of green tea. I wasn't having a problem with CM, but the past 2 months it hasn't been as noticeable and I have been able to distinguish one type from the other (i.e. - is it creamy or watery or EWCM?). I drank a glass yesterday afternoon and noticed a difference this morning! So, I'm drinking another glass or two this afternoon. We'll see what happens tomorrow!

jodylovesscotty -- I hope that works for you. I am going to be doing the Green Tea next cycle as well if this one doesn't pan out. Which, to be honest, I am expecting it not to, since there has been no fertile CM in my life since we started trying.
I slept in the spare bedroom last night, because DH was snoring and kicking (a lovely combo) and then one of our dogs decided she should come be with me. So, I didn't sleep all that well, and I temped at my normal time, and it was lowish. However, I went back to sleep, and temped again when I woke up, and it had gone from 97.7 to 98.5. Which I liked better. So I used that one and marked the different time.

Baby Lust and polkadot~ Thank you. Yes, it did wonders for my mood.
So...this is how crazy in the head I have become about having a baby. I was trying on pants today and started thinking about how if I get pg this month, I won't really get to wear these clothes for long. So then I started to think that maybe I should buy pants that are one size larger than I wear so that if I *do* get pg now, the clothes will go farther because they could serve as "in between" pants until I am ready for maternity clothes. This is all going through my head in the dressing room, by the way. So I go back out into the store and got a size bigger in all the pants to try on. I ended up only getting one pair, but I went ahead and got them in the bigger size. :o Who buys clothes around a pregnancy that doesn't exist yet? Apparently I do.

Ok, ladies...for various reasons, I am not going to chart for awhile. I won't go into detail in here (I just spilled my guts in my journal) but DH and I have decided it would be best to just see what happens for awhile. We want to make sure that when we do have a baby, he/she is born into the best environment we can give him/her. I will probably lurk in here and may post now and then, but I am taking a break. It will be hard and already is. Case in point - my buying a pair of pants today that are too big for me even though I had already made the decision to slow things down. Anyway, best of luck to all of you. I will be cheering you on and hope to rejoin you all soon.

UTChick - I also keep planning my future wardrobe around a pregnancy that does not exsist. I have several new items for fall that that I am worrying will not fit and have also bought a couple of things a size larger "just in case." This is not information that I have disclosed to DH as he would tell me I am getting obsessed. Too late!

I finally got O crosshairs--on day 20, the latest yet (last two cycles were at day 17 & 18).
I'm not testing this month because I know there is no way that I am(damn ILs beach house that's lots of fun but with zero privacy), but Threadmistress you can move me to the O section. (And if O the next time we are there visiting, I will be taking my husband for a little drive! ;) )

Good morning Ladies!!
UT Chick - Happy late B-day. Please come back when you are ready. Sorry things took an unexpected turn. I hope things get sorted out for you soon!
I am still in the boring part. I temped this morning at the right time and it was extremely high. I threw it out. It is way early for O and no CM to follow, so I am not sure what happened. I guess if it is high tomorrow, than we missed our chance this month. Ugh. I tried to talk DH into BD last night, but he was tired. I will be bummed if we missed it. Tonight though, he has no choice :p
Off to chart stalk. We need some good news in here!! Who is is going to be . . . .

Ummm...{{raises hand}}... I went shoppng last weekend-- and all I could think about was-- "what if this is a waste of money?". I know you don't get pregnant and instanteously gain weight (though, some people do!)... so I wouldn't let myself by new pants in my size! I haven't actually bought clothes in a bigger size, yet, but I have DEFINITELY thought about it!
Happy belated birthday, btw :) Sorry you hear you are leaving us-- but it's completely understandable! Best wishes to you and your hubby!
Bellefior - Damn in-laws! Sorry to hear you missed out on the opportunity...:(
Guinness - Did you ever think you would have to talk your DH into BDing? D and I were talking about that last night.
As for me-- I think I'm about to O! Which is super exciting, considering my last 4 month long cycle. Unless my body is tricking me and giving me false ovulation symptoms! I still haven't gotten a + OPK though-- so I'm not getting my hopes TOO high.
Hope everyone has a great Thursday!

UT - I'm sorry you're leaving us - even if it's only temporary. Feel free to post anytime!
Well, I think I O'd yesterday but I've got to wait and see what the temps do for the next 2 days before I call it. If so, I'm pretty excited, DH and I got some good BD in! :D
Has anyone been really moody right before they O'd? I've never noticed this as a symptom before but Tuesday night my moods were all over the place - angry, sad, weepy, happy. I was wondering if it was possibly related to O'ing. Anyone?

UT I'm sorry to hear you're leaving for a while, but it sounds like the best decision for you. :( I hope that you are blessed with a BFP very soon, and in the meantime feel free to visit whenever. :)
6dpo today and my temp shot way up. If only it stays up tomorrow. I also had a really weird taste in my mouth yesterday at work, kind of metallic. (I can taste it again this morning, but it's not as strong.) I was feeling kind of naseous yesterday as well. I hope this is our month. IhopeIhopeIhope.
Come on, BFP!!! I'm off to chart-stalk now.

Wrighty26 Yeah I was a little shocked when he said, 'I tired'. I thought, tired. . . headache, hey that's my line :p He did have a migraine the night before, so maybe it was legit
Hope O is here for you and Katmg.
Katmg I definitely notice O symptoms, moodiness and skin flare ups are my big ones. Since I have charted (and off BCP)I feel like PMS is a lot longer than it is supposed to be when I get these symptoms 2xs/mth. I can't imagine what my hormones will do to my when I get PG

UT: I bought a pair of pants last week and stood in the dressing room for way too long debating whether they would fit me come fall. I've been pretty good about not purchasing things on the change I get PG . . .but I do have a drawer of spring baby clothes that were on super sale at the Gap. Please come back when you are ready. We'll be thinking of you.
polkadot: I had forgotten how bad my cramps were pre-BCP. Sucks! Hope this is your last AF for a while...
Bellefior, katmg & Wrighty26: Congratulations on the Os! I know that I am always relieved when I get the crosshairs--its one hurdle down. katmg, I'm always super emotional...nothing to do with Oing! :o
Mystikal: I had that metallic taste twice post O this time. Didn't last too long...but long enough to give me hope.
12DPO and temp stayed up this morning. FF tells me possibly Triphasic on Day 27. I picked up some equates but I was good and tucked them away in the linen closet...then promptly fell asleep on the couch for two hours!

I'll be back with some shout-outs in a few. But first, question:
I'm at 6DPO. My temp went a smidge higher today. I've had AF-like cramps since last night, and now have creamy CM. What to make of all of this?

Gymwindow From my very short experience TTC, I don't think you should make anything of it until you see a BFP, then you can say it meant something. I had EVERY FPS last cycle and AF showed up right on time. My chart looked different than usual, sore bbs, veins, crampy early, high temps, tired. . . the list goes on. So while it may mean something, you won't know until you already know. I hope they are real pg symptoms for you, but for your sanity, try not to overanalyze during this 2WW. Easier said than done I know!!

Well, the bad news is af showed up... EARLIER than i expected. The good news is that i am on cd3 and have remembered to chart each day! WHOO HOO! I honestly have no idea when i o so it will be a good thing to get a few charts in to figure it out and if we get a bfp sooner than that is even better. I am going to be lazy about the whole ttc thing until i know my cycle better. Maybe 2-3 months before i go all crazy. I can't get into the pscyho hpt thing again. That stressed me and dh out. Maybe this will be our month though? ;)

polkadot, sorry to hear that AF found you. I hope she leaves quickly so you can focus on next month!
ds2003, I'm also going to test next week. Not sure if i'll give in on Monday or try to make it to Wednesday.
UT, Happy Belated Birthday! I hope that taking a break from all the obsessing is good for you. Maybe that dumb old wives tale will be true for you - relax and it will happen!
Wrighty, yay for an almost O! I'm crossing my fingers for you that it happens soon.
ellidew, sounds like a good plan. I tried to do that - went off BCP in Feb. and we didn't start TTC till June, right around when my cycle seems (stress the "seems") to have gotten somewhat normal. Good luck!

Baby Lust thanks! I hope it's my month, too! We had some great BD timing!!
Metallic taste is still there. I've been chewing super strong gum all day and I've been home for half an hour and already brushed my teeth twice. It's not helping. Ick!! Once again, I find myself astounded by how much I don't know. Is creamy CM during the 2WW a sign? (Then again, isn't everything during the 2WW a sign? ;))
And what is the metallic taste meant to be? I am guessing it must have something to do with iron in the blood, but beyond that, I'm mystified.
For the first time this month, I have been chart stalking, trying to see who else's body is doing what. Looking forward to hearing results for a bunch of you, including Mystikal, amurphy(chart's looking good!), gymwidow, and others testing that week.
Fertility Friend has me at 11 DPO today, but I don't *feel* like there's anything going on. I'm trying really hard not to obsess, and I am not going to test until Monday, because by then it will have been as long as my longest luteal period on record, and I won't feel as silly if I get a BFN and then AF comes a-knocking the next day.
(It's really really hard not to think about it, though...)

Well my temp was back down today, so yesterday's temp was weird and discarded. I did get some EWCM, so maybe it is a coming. . . We are off on a 10-day vacation so I won't be updating my chart until I return. Hopefully when I get back temps will be high and I will be past some of the 2WW. Bad thing is it will be hard to find privacy to BD around expected O. It is looking like it might happen earlier than later so lets hope :)

Morning everyone!
Well, another high temperature, so FF confirmed my O. Threadmistress, could you move me to the Think I O'd testing 8/8 - 8/14 section - thanks!
I have a question though: when do you think I O'd?? FF had me O'ing on CD 19, but I think (would like much much better ;) ) CD 18. See, I got a + OPK around 4 PM on CD 18 according to which I should have O'd within the next 12-24 hours. And I got a big blaring - OPK on CD 19 around 12.30 PM, which makes me think that I must have O'd between Sunday night and Monday morning. What do you all think? I admit that I'm trying to stretch my LP as much as possible -- I have short cycles, so O'ing on CD 19 would make the implantation absolutely impossible for me... Help!
Good luck to all who O'd -- there are some good-looking charts out there! :)

Happy Friday, everyone!
It's getting exciting around here!
ellidew: Sorry to hear AF arrived. I agree that charting for a few months will be helpful and maybe reduce the stress a little bit. At least it will eliminate some of your questions about Oing etc. Good luck!
gymwidow: I too had A LOT of creamy CM in the first half of my 2ww. I'm hoping that is a great sign. :D
Mystical: I found myself in the bathroom this morning with a full bladder and a box of HPTs in my hand. But I decided against testing. The words "as early as one day after a missed period" were buring my eyes so I decided to wait. I may test on Sunday (15DPO) although I would like to try to wait until 18DPO. We'll see how that goes.
silentbunny: I took a look at your chart yesterday and I remember it looking really good! Keep the faith.
mel7dog: Brown spotting? Check. Sharp pain? Check. I'll get my hopes up for you. :p
Guinness: DH and I were on vacation during my fertile time this month. Believe me. You'll make time to BD!
uskiku: I wish I could answer your question but I really don't know enough about charting yet to take an educated guess. At this point, I'm a slave to FF interpretation.
13DPO (CD31) for me. Temp stayed up this morning-same as yesterday morning. We went out last night for a friend's birthday celebration and I had four pints of water before I decided I needed to get a beer before people started asking questions. So I ordered a bottled beer and pretended to drink it for about an hour. Then we left. Wonder if I fooled anyone?

Mystikal, definitely! I think I'll probably test next Wednesday. I would wait longer, but if I do get a BFP I want to be able to announce it to my FIL via a package in the mail on his bday two days later. How about you?
UT, hugs to you. I'm glad you're feeling a little better!
SilentBunny, thanks! I hope we get a lot of good news from next week's testers (me included, of course! ;) ) I kept hearing on here that creamy CM was seen by several in their 2WW before they got their BFPs, so I'm hoping it's a good sign for those of us experiencing it. But I'm like you - I don't "feel" like anything's happening, despite all these symptoms I'm imagining, so I guess it's just wait and see.
mel7dog, crossing my fingers for you!
Guinness, bring on that O! Have a great vacation. What a great time to make a baby!
uskiki, I'm not so good at guessing at stuff like that. I think the matter of hours, b/w 4 pm on CD18 and 12:30 pm on CD19, probably isn't that big a difference to make you stress over it. I know that's much easier said than done (believe me, I know, esp. since before this cycle, my longest LP was only 5 days)!
amurphy, I've been keeping an eye on your chart. It looks so good, I'm keeping everything crossed for you! When are you testing?
So, CD27 and 7DPO for me. My temp went up another 0.1 today. I had lots more creamy CM overnight and this morning. Those pesky cramps continued until dinner last night and I had a minor bout of nausea on my drive home. I had some sharp pains in my right lower belly this morning. See how my imagination is latching on to every single thing?
Anyway, this weekend I'll be away spending time with my family, so hopefully I won't be able to obsess too much. Last night I restocked on what my DH calls my "girlie products" at the store - a sign that subconsciously I don't think this is our month? Who knows? I'm bringing some stuff with me on this trip just in case. Last month on CD27 I began spotting and continued spotting for 4 days until AF finally showed up. I hope that doesn't happen again this month!
Do we have any weekend testers? It'd be awesome to come back on Monday to see a BFP reported! Good luck to anyone testing!
uskiku

Thanks, gymwidow! I'm heartbroken over my short LP, so I'm likely to resort to desperate measures...
Just realized that I'd made my confusing story even more confusing -- sorry! I got the +OPK on CD 17 (4 PM) and the -OPK CD 18 (12.30 PM) , but FF has me O'ing on CD19! Considering that according to these OPKs ovulation should occur within 12-24 hours of a positive, I'm thinking (hoping, hoping oh so much!) that it's a little unlikely that I O'd on CD19.
Anyway, enough about me -- there are some pretty charts out there -- fingers crossed, amurphy, Mystikal, Mel7dog!
Have a great time, Guinness! Very good timing for O! ;)
Silentbunny don't give up hope!
Oh and gymwidow, these are very promising signs/symptoms... :D
UT hugs to you! I joined this thread in order to have an outlet for all my obsessing. I was getting worried that otherwise DH would get me institutionalized... :p Hope you're doing good -- have a great weekend! :)

I’m joining the “creamy CM after O “group. I’m really trying not to read to much into it. I’m 7DPO and went in this morning for a progesterone test. Last cycle it was 9.1 so I’m hoping it Is a little higher this cycle. My temps at this point in my cycle are lower than they were last cycle. I am of course over analyzing that as well. I’ve convinced myself that I’m having more creamy CM and lower temps because my estrogen levels are higher this cycle. My temps could also be down because my prog levels are lower. I’ll find that out this afternoon. I read that estrogen causes your temp to drop. It is the cause of the “implantation dip. We have an estrogen surge mid-luteal phase and the levels tend to be higher in pregnant women.
I plan to test one week from this Monday. I’ll be 17DPO unless AF finds me. She is due 16DPO.

I'm at CD 15 and it's about O time... my temp went up a bit today so I plugged in some fake higher temps for Sat and Sun, and it showed my O date as Wednesday. That's a couple days earlier than normal for me, and I didn't have my usual O pains, so I'm not sure if that's right. The temps look right though. We still covered our bases pretty good, thank goodness.

ds2003, I hope you get the test results you wanted!
amurphy, unless AF shows up, I'll be testing with you on 8/10. That will be 12DPO for me, which may be too early, but will be a long LP for me, so maybe.....

Thanks, uskiku...temp went way down this morning, though, and I was feeling crampy/weird last night, so I am expecting a visit from my dreaded auntie any minute. I'd be more than happy to be wrong, though. I had the same situation with my +OPK, BTW...got a big positive on the 22nd, a big negative on the 23rd, and FF put me as ovulating on the 24th. (???) Not sure what to believe.
Guiness Sneaky BDing could be fun, though! Have fun, feeling like a couple of naughty kids! (Then again, it can be hard to remain in "the position" for a full half hour while in a broom closet...)

amurphy -- Wow, you have reolve! I am not even letting myself buy any until Sunday, if need be, because for me it's like having a big chocolate cake in the fridge. There's just no saying no.
ds2003 -- I straed Metformin this cycle and am trying to figure out what effect it might be having...so I understand the guesswork. Too much!

MMH -- From my experiences, I think Fertility Friend waits until it sees a pattern of at least 3 high temps in a row to confirm ovulation. Also, it may wind up telling you you are ovulating TODAY, since the temp went down today. It has done that to me and also to someone else I was talking to about this yesterday (sorry, I can't remember who right now!) It seems to rely more upon the low temp followed by the rise rather than the +OPKs you got.
klav -- I'm sorry this has you so down!! I don't know your whole history, but maybe it's time to talk to a doctor about the fact that it's been 10 cycles, you're charting, and it's still not working? Don't give up!! :(
As for me...I am officially out of the running for this cycle. The witch has landed. :( BUT, the good things that happened this cycle are that the Metformin cut my cycle almost in half (from 61 to 41 -- and I didn't even start the Metformin until well into the cycle), so hopefully it won't be too long until I can obsess again. Plus, I have now discovered Green tea, so I will be brewing up a big batch as soon as AF leaves. (Too bad I bought the caffeinated stuff, huh? I guess I have to go find more...the caffeinated stuff sounded better, though...) THREADMISTRESS, please move me to "Waiting to O". Thanks!
ok your right some may not know my history at all so I'll give a breef one if possible. do here it is in 03 I has a laperoscapy for pelvic pain found nothng everything looked fine and normal. Oct of 03 got married I've been off BCP sence Jan of 03 and figure if got PG that was OK. gOT PG in Oct 04 MC in Nov04 at 8weeks 2 days before my first visitwith the dr. went to fertility clinic in July 05 could not help us because of MC in Nov04 they found nothing in the testing they did... well DH was fine actually in the high percential and they thoght I may have a blocked tube when I had an HSG they said the iodine would not go into the right side? but the Lap in 03 said I was fine and I was not going to have another surgery for no reason. So I started on Clomid last month and will start a second one on monday. the third offical day of AF. sence my Period started in the Pm and was very light so today was the first full day of AF. SO I hope this clears any confusion or concern with my history sence not many knew about it. because I did not post it here... but I'm still confuse about everythign what am I doing wrong? whay is my body refusing to be PG I feel like it a war with myself and nothing is working/hellping I'm just so upset . and I'm tired of being disapointed with myself! :( :(

It looks like you could've O'ed on CD 14 according to FF, but since you haven't had 3 temps above the would be coverline, FF isn't calling your O day yet. Also I had a temp drop after I O'ed so even with the drop CD 14 could've been your day! Good thing you BD'ed before!

x-post from journal
Well ladies today I was feeling kinda crazy and convinced myself I was pg so I decided to test just for the heck of it while DH was in the other room on the computer. It was almost noon and I wasn't really expecting anything yet since I am only 9 DPO.
Sure enough I looked at the test and saw only one line :( I took it in to show DH and we were both like oh well, probably too early. Then I took the test to the window for a minute and saw the faintest little trace of a line ever. I called DH over to see if I was seeing things, but by that line there was a faint line for sure! :D
Here's what we saw:
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d626b3127cce933307a00a9800000016108Aas3Dhi2Yt0
I started flipping out sreaming
I'm pregnant! I'm pregnant!
DH was in shock, but didn't believe that a faint line IS A LINE! After 10 min of searching CC for other people with faint lines at first he finally started to believe me! Then I decided to take another test, different brand, since I already had to pee again
Here's test #2
http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b5d626b3127cce933c90d42ae800000016108Aas3Dhi2Yt0
Both lines are super hard to see, but believe me ladies they are there!!! If I have learned 1 thing on CC it's that a line is a line is a line!! I am going to have a blood test tomorrow since we have walk in clinic in the morning, then I will know for sure and DH will not be able to say anything about a faint line.
Can you believe it, I am pg??!!
I am literally in shock! This was my first month off the pill, DH’s only home on weekends, I really didn't think it would happen so soon. Apparently we are both super fertile and very fortunate. Especially after reading about all the wonderful woman on CC who have been TTC forever, I feel SO LUCKY, I am speechless :D

I think you could test tomorrow since you have a good looking chart and symptoms. Just don't be worried if it's not a BFP yet since it will still be a little early.

Hmph. FF gave me crosshairs, but Ovusoft hasn't (although, my temps are super low, and I KNOW that they can get up to the 98s!)--so I'm conflicted! If I did O on Day 13--GREAT, but honestly I don't think I did. Damn FF, getting my hopes up! I bet my temp tomorrow will be low again (I'm such an optimist!)...
Hopefully everyone else is having better luck at this :D

Okay, so this am I PIAC and when the $ store opens in half an hour I am going to go buy a test. I know it's still early, but I figure they are just $ tests so if it's BFN I won't feel too badly about wasting it. I might not have time to post results until tonight, though, because I have to leave for work in an hour. Keep your fingers crossed for me, ladies!!

Well, I think I O'd this weekend. If I put in another high temp tomorrow FF tells me I O'd on Saturday. What's the one day that DH and I DIDN'T BD? Freakin' Saturday! katmg: Sounds like you had enough BDing to cover your bases--even taking Saturday off. Hope your 2ww treats you well!
Mystikal: I'm not strong. I'm scared! I think a BFN (or a streak of red blood) will drive me over the edge. I'll be checking back here tonight to see the results of your HPT. Hope its good news!
Wrighty26: You never know. You might get a huge temp rise tomorrow. Good luck.
16DPO: Temp stayed high today. When I first got out of bed this morning, I felt totally symptom free. But then the cramps set in and my stomach is upset. I don't know what to think at this point. Also, I was looking at my chart and I wonder if I O'd later than FF says. I think I didn't O until what FF is calling 4DPO. What do you all think?

Congrats mel7dog!! Can't wait for you to join us in the April mommies thread. H&H 9 months!
amurphy - Your chart is looking great! I do think you might be right and FF might be a little off with your O date. The low temps are what makes me think that. Your chart is still looking great though even if you did have a later O date.
Mystikal - You are such a tease! :) Guess we will have to wait until tonight to find out. Good luck and hope you are freaking out over a BFP right now! :)
klav - Hang in there! {{Hugs}}! Please don't lose hope. I know it's very hard not to but there really is hope. I got my BFP 5 days before our 1 year of TTCing. Before that cycle I just didn't think it was ever going to happen but it did. Good luck to you! I have everything crossed for you that you will get your BFP very soon.

Klav- I know how you feel. This is our 9th cycle and 15th month trying. That should give you an idea of how irregular my cycles are. My last two cycle are the only ovulatory cycles I’ve had and I owe that to ovarian drilling since I have PCOS. I still believe that it will happen someday. I cry, I complain, I get upset that life isn’t fair, but I’m human and that is expected. Try not to lose hope. I know it is difficult. We may hate the journey now, but the reward will be worth the wait.

Wrighty26, what's your CM been like the past few days? When do you usually O? I'm inclined to agree with you that you haven't O'd yet, but I can understand why ff thinks so based on what you've charted. The golden rule: don't stop BD until you know for sure ;)
Mystical, fingers & toes are crossed :)
katmg, don't stress over not BDing on O-day. You've definitely covered your bases.
klav, GOOD LUCK to you! Don't give up hope! Staying positive is a big help in achieving what you want.
lcw, damn her! No, she doesn't have any manners.
amurphy, you may not want to hear this, but I'm kinda guessing you're 8 DPO, given your continued fertile CM & a true steady rise after that. If you were to change the C on CD25 to a W, I bet FF will give you those CH. Either way you've totally covered your bases, if that makes you feel a little bit better. :o

Just wanted to check in and let you all know I'm still alive... ha ha...
My computer crashed a couple weeks ago, which is why I haven't had time to check in. We moved into our new home and I competed in a Triathlon yesterday, and I start a new job monday... whew....
As far as TTC goes - still waiting to O. Looks like another long cycle for me. The stress of moving I think has kicked it off kilter again... so just hanging out waiting to O.
Congrats to all those happily Preggo ladies from last month.

CD 18 and I still have no O. I'm really confused, as every cycle I've had since being off BCP has had a CD 14 or CD 15 O. Plus, I had EWCM for the days surrounding CD 14, but yesterday it was gone and nothing today. I THINK I might be having O pains today... If they continue then I'll know for sure. Not to mention that my DH's back is hurting and we haven't BD'ed for 2 days, sigh. He said he might be able to oblige tonight. :) It sucks though, I really thought we had our timing down when comparing to my other cycles and my body signs.
Congrats mel7dog, I hope you come back with a positive blood test. :)

Flygirl - My CM has pretty much been non-existent the last 2 days. :( I USED to O around day 13/14, so this would mean my body is back on track after it's 4-month hiatus, but I'm not holding my breath!

Congrats Mel!!!!! I'm so happy for you!
Sorry for no other individual replies right now. Work is being annoying and I have to get some stuff done, but I wanted to drop off a congratulations to MEL and a general HI to everyone else.
Today is CD30 and 10DPO and I'm planning to test on Wednesday. I don't know when I should, since this is the first "normal" cycle I've had while charting (I'm so annoyed now that I didn't chart all the way through last month!). Last month AF showed up on CD31 after 4 days of spotting, and I've had no spotting at all this weekend, so either my body is just getting regular finally or ... well you know. ;) I don't feel pregnant, but then again I don't know what that feels like, so how could I know? I think in my heart I just don't feel like it happened this month and I sort of feel already disappointed, like I don't expect it to happen so it won't. Every time I go to the bathroom I just expect to see signs that AF is here. I don't have any desire to POAS b/c I just know somehow that it will be negative and I don't want to be disappointed.
Does any of that make sense? I kind of feel like I'm trying to set myself up for a BFN so that I don't get too disappointed if/when one does show up.
Ugh, back to work. I hope everyone out there is having a great Monday! :)

Welcome, Indiana bride, hope your stay is short and sweet!

And good luck to all the testers; my fingers-toes are permanently crossed!!!
As to me, a major confusion. I've been on such a roller-coaster since yesterday, that I'd just be happy to have some certainty :( I went to see my family practicioner yesterday, as I've been having non-stop abdominal pain since my O. Well, she looked at my chart, listened to my mad ramblings and said that I could be pregnant... You ladies are probably the only people on the earth who can understand what this can do to a poor nervous wreck in the midst of a 2WW ;) I love my FP though! She ordered a blood test (LH, HCG (?) and progesterone and... a blood pregnancy test). She did say that it was far too early for the latter (I was 7 DPO and the test is supposed to be done after 12 DPO), but "you'd want to know, one way or the other, right?" ;) I'm still waiting to hear the results... but... and here's my "real" dilemma:
I woke up 2.5 hours earlier this morning, temped -- a nosedive (97.25) -- thought I was getting my period. Went back to bed, tossed and turned until my usual temping time -- 98.18... a significant temp rise. BUT this temp rise was preceded by very restless sleep.
A lunatic as I am, I tested (for the first time in my life...) and a Big Fat Disappointment, of course.
I guess I should go with the first temp and expect AF to arrive either today or tomorrow... or...?
I do feel like the witch should be here any minute. Why do I torture myself like this?????

Threadmistress - Please move me to: I Think I O'd, testing August 22nd
I'm pretty sure that I O'd. I have to discard one of my pre-O high temps in order for it give me crosshairs. I'm okay with discarding that temp though b/c the night before I had gone out to a dinner for work and had quite a bit of wine. I was pretty sure it shouldn't have been that high.

Congrats Stumbles :) and Welcome Indiana Bride!
Your Dr is just toturing you uskiku! Don't stress, it's just going to make things worse :) I'm sorry to hear about the abdominal pain...maybe it IS a good thing (fingers and toes crossed)! I wouldn't go by your low temp- if you woke up 2.5 hours earlier than usual! I discard them both, try to get a good sleep tonight-- and then see what happenes tomorrow morning...
As for me, my temp stayed the same-- so I guess I did O... or at least that's what my chart tells me, so I guess I'm now 5DPO. Weird.
Threadmistress will you you please move me to Think I O'ed :)
I'm still not holding my breath that anything has happened (even though if I did O we had some great timing!), but I might as well stay positive about it! (Until the 2ww madness sets in!!!)

uskiku: Hope your doc gets back to you soon with some happy news!
Ericka_Jarett: I can't imagine how difficult this week is for you. I'm praying that you get that BFP.
Welcome, Indiana Bride: 10DPO already?! Your almost through the 2ww!
Mystikal: I think you should think there is still hope. The spotting is a bit strange...but our bodies are a bit strange. Don't feel defeated. You might yet get that BFP.
13DPO (or what would have been 17DPO before my chart was adjusted) and temps went up again this morning. Flygirl, you may be right about my chart but for now I'm going to pretend that I didn't read your suggestion that I'm only 9DPO. ;) But if I get a BFN when I test, you can be sure that I'll think, "Well, Flygirl must be right and its too early to test!" Thank you for all the good thoughts! A girl can drive herself nuts looking too hard at her own chart!

Could someone take a look at my chart (http://www2.fertilityfriend.com/home/af125) when you get a chance, and let me know what you think? FF gave me crosshairs today, but with a Saturday O. I have a hard time believing that because I had O pain yesterday, but then again my CM and CP yesterday didn't really correspond with an O either (do I have enough abbreviations?). :) Anyways, any insight would be appreciated... maybe in a few more days it'll look a little clearer.

OK, so after I posted, I decided to defy AF -- (said in a very dramatic stage voice): listen to me, witch, I'm not afraid of you, here I am, bring it on!! So I went for a run to bring on the AF. And the doctor called while I was out. Anyway, according to DH, my blood (pregnancy) test was negative, but (and this is a truly good news!!!) my progesterone levels are normal! Yippppeeeeeeee! I'm SO relieved! I'm also "between ovulation and the period" (I guess that must have been LH) -- well, I kinda thought I was... ;)
Anyway, I'm at peace now: I'm not pregnant but I can stop worrying about my progesterone levels. I expect AF will make her grand entrance either later today or tomorrow, and since I'm going to be traveling tomorrow, I bet it'll be then...
I'll be out of town till Monday, but I'll keep all crossables crossed for the testers -- we have some mighty pretty charts out there!!
Thanks so much, Wrighty26 and katmg -- you're so sweet! Wrighty26, I know that from what I said, it sounded like she was torturing me, but she is in fact uber nice! The torturing part was done by yours truly... ;)

Indiana, welcome! I hope you aren't around for long.
Mystikal, I'm right there with you. I'm going to post my confusion and ramblings below.
Stumbles, congrats, that's awesome!
Ericka, I'm thinking happy thoughts for you. That would be wonderful if you could have a happy occasion to celebrate this month.
uskiku, I'm glad the test showed normal progesterone levels. That's definitely a very good thing! Hopefully next month will bring even more (better) good news!
amurhphy, you're going to test when you hit 16DPO, is that right?
Lizard, I'm not very good at this, but I would guess maybe an O on Sunday instead of Sat?

So, today is CD31 and 11DPO. My temp went up again this morning to 98.3. I gave in and tested. BFN, as I expected. Then I noticed pale spotting on the t.p., so I put on a pantiliner. Now have slight brownish pink on there, but nothing on the t.p. It's definitely not bright red spotting, though.
Realistically, I know that the spotting is probably AF approaching. CD31 was when it arrived last month. But, also, I know that 11DPO is still well within the implantation window, and that brownish pink spotting can be a sign of that. But I figure my brain is probably trying to make me believe that it's brownish pink and not bright red, and that all hope is not lost. I'm figuring I'm not p.g., but of course will just wait and see what happens. If AF hasn't arrived by the end of the week, I'll test again.
You know, I'm usually quite the optimist, but for some reason I just feel very pessimistic about our chances for getting pregnant quickly. I just feel like it's not going to happen for a while. I wonder why that is. I know that it happens both ways - I know two couples who have been trying for months with no luck, but then I also know at least 3 other couples who got pregnant within 2 months of starting TTC. And even two women who got pregnant right away and then miscarried and were pregnant again within months. DH and I are only on month 2, and actually really only month 1 considering last month we were flying blind and just DTD whenever and figured we'd see what happened. So I know that I really don't have any reason to obsess or worry so much and that chances are it can and will happen within a few months, but of course me being my obsessive self, those "facts" don't make me think about the worst-case scenarios any less.
I was thinking about not charting for a while and just "relaxing" about it, but then I thought - what good will that do? I'll still be thinking about it all the time and I'd be wondering about my temps and what my body was doing. I'd still be checking CM and obsessing over imaginary symptoms and wondering when my O date was. At least with charting I feel like I have a teensy bit of control over something I really have no control over, y'know?
Anyway, thanks for listening to me. I'm going to go get busy with work and keep my mind occupied now on something other than this!!!

Congrats Stumbles! H&H 9 months to you :)
Lizard - Your O day could possibly be on CD18. A few more temps should help.
amurphy - Looking good! I have everything crossed for you and will be stalking your chart! :D

Coming out of lurkdome to post... ;) I've been checking in on this thread but wasn't charting originally so I haven't joined in.
Wow gymwidow, you took the words right out of my mouth. We're in the exact same situation with last month being our first month but we were pretty much blindly BDing so I shouldn't have expected to be pg but when I took a test last month, it was so heartbreaking. And I have the same awful feeling that it might not happen for us. Now that I'm fueled with tons of info (thank you TCOYF and CC!) I'm ready to get serious about this but I fear that by getting serious, it will be even more of a let down if it doesn't happen because I did do everything right. This whole thing sure is a lot more stressful than I thought it would be!
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that your post is exactly how I feel and you're not alone. :)

Okay-no one shoot me-but I just wanted to chime in and let you ladies who are ttc#1 know that while it does seems like an eternity when you're TTC- once you are actually pregnant and look back on it you will realize it wasn't truly that long. It took us 3 months to get pregnant the first time (the pregnancy ended in an early m/c)-luckily I was able to get pregnant again the next month and now my little one is 18 months. Just remember that even when we do it right we've only got a 20% chance of conceiving. Okay-so now I'll go back and obsess over pregnant charts and ignore all the sensible "words of wisdom" I just gave :D

Just checking in and stopping by to say CONGRATS to all the BFP's!
FF says that our score for intercourse this month was high so I don't know if I take that as a good thing or a bad thing since I had to manually put in my O date. Do you think it is still accurate if I put the O date in and FF didn't come up with it?

Congratulations, Stumbles!
Goodness! This thread is moving like a wildfire these days! So much to catch up on.
hbeshore, it's still accurate if you're sure that's your O-day. FF gives you an analysis based on whoever decides when you O'd :).
marteneym, I'm sorry this is so crazy for you. Wishing you an O!
gymwidow, I thought about not temping after last cycle's obsession. I both hated & loved to analyze every. single. symptom. But you're right, we already know what's going on with our bodies so the obsession would continue no matter what. Knowledge is both a blessing and a curse.
uskiku, I'm glad to hear everything is OK! In the end, it's a lot better to be sure that you're healthy first.
Lizzard, I'm agreeing that it looks more like CD18. It's not unusual at all to O after your fertile CM. According to NFP it can happen +/- 3 days.
murphy, now that you've taken out those W days it looks more like it. It's common to have a little estrogen surge a few days after O (your dip at 4 DPO), then your temps rise & dip at 8/9 DPO (implantation dip), then rise again for the picture-perfect triphasic chart :D. Not to get your hopes up, or anything :P But I still wouldn't discount a possible O on CD26, especially if you test BFN ;)
Welcome, Indiana Bride! It's nice to have some rational knowledge around this place.

Can someone take a look at my chart and tell me when you think I O'd. FF moved my O date again today. Grrr. Mystikal, sorry. I'm joining you over there. Hopefully next month will be it for us!
Threadmistress, please move me to "waiting to O".
Yup, AF arrived today after that mild spotting yesterday. I'm disappointed, of course, but quite all right with it otherwise. I'm truly just so happy that I had a "normal" cycle finally, with a clear O and a good LP! That makes me much more hopeful for this month. :)

flygirl: Oh. My hopes are up. No need to worry about that. I've got it covered.
Mystikal & gymwidow: I'm so sorry!!! Damn that AF.
katmg : I defer chart interpretation to flygirl and kooper. They seem to know what's up.
Here I am at 14DPO (again) and had a slight temp drop today, but it is still way above my coverline. I also temped 40 minutes earlier than normal because I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep. So we'll see. My bbs are no longer tender, but still full with some mild shooting pains through the sides & nipples. Lovely. I'm also getting that "bursting bubbles" & pulling sensation around my bellybutton. FF gave me a test date of next Monday. I hoping to avoid the temptation to test until then. Oh. Here's a funny thing. I had a dream last night that I had a baby boy and my Mom gave him a pretzel, which made me really nervous b/c he was too young for real food.

amurphy - Your chart is still looking great today! Monday is so long.... :) The nip pains make me really think this is it for you. Don't worry about the sore BBs going away. They came and went for me. Some days were worse than others.
katmg - Hmmm.... I think Saturday or Sunday could be right. I would say Sunday based on CM but that doesn't work for me since I always got fertile CM after O. While there was a big temp jump on Saturday it still wasn't
higher than your CL plus you had two days of fertile CM after the jump. Frustrating isn't it!

I'm CD 30 and DPO 7. Temps went up again today. I really am praying this is the month. Been feeling Nauseaus the last few days. When I was pregnant with Rebekah had no symptoms, didn't even realize I was pregnant until I was 14 weeks already. My mom was sick while she carried me. Hoping these symptoms mean something this month. :)
I can't interept other's charts, hardly can do my own LOL :) So if someone would like to look and tell me what you think, would appreciate it.

Doh, you just updated but next time you do, could you move me to Think I O'ed - Testing 8/22 - 8/28?
Thanks ladies for your advice on my chart... I too believe that I O'ed on CD 18, but I'm going to leave it as it is for now. A couple days doesn't make a difference in the scheme of things.

Murphy, I say test now. Even if you O'd on CD26 that still makes you 10 DPO, a relatively safe time to test. And if you get a BFN, you know it's just too early. Since FF doesn't have a record of a normal LP for you, they're being ultra-conservative and suggesting you test a full week after an average LP.
Gymwidow, I'm sorry. :( But I'm glad to see you have a good attitude :) I meant to say yesterday (in addition to obsessing regardless), I think a lot of us are influenced by women on here who do have a difficult time getting pg. We read all about how long it took, the RE procedures, the drugs, and we can't help but think that's going to happen to us. But that's just because we're exposed to it. Give yourself those 4 months Terri suggests before even worrying :).
Mystical, I'm so sorry, girl :(. I hope you're doing OK.
Kat, it's hard to say. Given your post-O temps last month (assuming you did O) & your CM, I'd guess Sunday is more likely. I'm also stressing over my O date, but there's nothing we can do to change it! Either way, we're in the 2ww.

Kopper & Flygirl - Hmmm...I guess it doesn't really matter at this point. Nothing I can do about, eh? And it's not a huge difference. I did an experiment and put in a temp for tomorrow and it moved it back to Saturday. Bah!
Flygirl - I think you're right on the post-O symptoms. Now that I'm aware of them, I don't have to freak out every time I get a boob twinge. ;) My journal was full of references to boob twinges the first cycle of TTC. Now I just expect them.

Thanks so much Kopper, Baby Lust, Lizard, Flygirl, dlj78, and katmg!
DH and I are cautiously excited. I don't know what made me test yesterday (at only 10 DPO). I had felt a little lightheaded that morning and then again in the afternoon, and stopped to buy a few (4!) preg tests on the way home from work. Was going to wait until this morning to test, but of course tore open the first box and poas within 5 minutes of being home! I was surprised at how quickly the BFP came up. BB's are veiny but not sore, and other than that, I feel "normal."
My temp went up a lot this a.m., so I'm feeling a little better about it. AF is (was) supposed to show on Sunday, so will definitely be keeping this on the down low (except to CC ladies) til then. Please send sticky vibes my way.

amurphy, I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Ericka, I think your chart looks good!
flygirl, yes, I think it's easy to focus on the sadder stories sometimes. I have to remind myself that the average TTC time is several months. I look at people like Littlestar and remind myself that it does happen quickly for some and that there's no reason why that can't happen for any one of us, myself included. Good luck with your wait.
Littlestar that's wonderful! I'm (cautiously) so excited for you!
Isn't it neat how, no matter how badly we each are disappointed when AF shows in our own lives, we can still be so happy and thrilled when another one of us gets her BFP?! Even though I was sad to see AF today, I am still grinning from reading Littlestar's news!
