What is good to mix with brandy for a mixed drink? I have a bottle that I got for a recipe and probably will not use it up in more recipes so I'd like to know what to mix it with for drinking so it is not so strong.

The classic, and especially seasonal IMO, is a Brandy Alexander. Recipes vary, but the easiest is equal parts brandy, crème de cacao, and heavy cream, shaken with ice and then strained into a glass. Sprinkle with nutmeg.
I also like a splash of brandy in cocoa made with coffee, and some eggnog and sangria recipes call for it.

Brandy goes VERY well with a shot of triple sec, and just a splash of orange juice - shake with ice, and serve in a martini glass (sugared rim is a nice touch too). My cheapie version of a Sidecar. :)
this is a favorite amongst the women on my street :)
Brandy Slush
9 Cups Water
2 Cups Sugar (or splenda)
4 black or green tea bags
1 12 oz can frozen lemonade
1 12 oz can frozen orange juice
2-3 Cups Brandy
Bring water and sugar to a boil. Add tea bags and steep. Remove tea bags. Add OJ and Lemonade.
Add Brandy when cool. Freeze mixture 24 hours. Serve with 7-up or Ginger Ale.
A little more labor intensive than the recipes posted but something you can just leave in the freezer for any occassion.
You could put some in eggnog for the holidays!

I like it on its own, but you could make a sidecar:
One part brandy or Cognac
One part Cointreau
One part lemon juice
I've also had a "pear sidecar" that I think had pear brandy and used pear liqueur instead of cointreau.
