I cannot find Martha Stewart Living magazines anywhere! I was out of town and flipped through one in the checkout line to find a carved pumpkin that had a letter in the center with an oval of circles around it. Does anyone have a picture of this? I'm kicking myself for not buying that issue. . .

I have the magazine, but don't have an access to a scanner to post the picture. Would it help if I typed out the directions?

Gourds by number

For a functional entryway decoration, emblazon a gourd with your house number. Print the number in any font and size. Cut out, and tape to a large dried gourd (available from florists). Fit a wood-burning tool with a needle tip, and pierce evenly spaced holes into the gourd's skin, outlining the digits. Add other decorative touches around the number with pencil; pierce again.

Sorry, vwinkel - my husband, for the first time in his everlovin' 49 freakin' years, cleaned while I was asleep. He felt the need to "get rid of the clutter". He threw it out. He also threw out my Bon Appetit Thanksgiving issue, three mother months of Bon Appetit that I was saving for Christmas recipes, my Martha Thanksgiving issue, my Everyday Foods from the last two months, and my LTD Commodities catalog that I was going to order gifts for Christmas out of.

I am feeling a need for revenge. Anyone feel CREATIVE????? :mad::mad:

TracieB - which issue was it? Sept? I seem to recall seeing this, but can't remember when, so if you wouldnt mind telling me that would save me from looking thru them all (which will ultimately involve 3 hours for a couple of issues because I tend to get rather engrossed once I start looking :rolleyes: -I have all my issues, so I can take a scan tonight.

It's October's Martha Stewart living. It has caramel apples on a white pedestal on the front, along with some Halloween cookies. The picture is on page 78.

eta: I think I might be wrong. I just reread the OP's original post and she said that it's a letter with ovals surrounding it. The one I found is a number with ovals around it...
