i just realized i totally forgot to grind my coffee at the grocery store before i left so now i have a bag of beans. i have an espresso/capuccino maker that i use for my morning coffee but only have a regular coffee grinder. will it be a big deal if the coffee isn't ground extra fine for the espresso machine? also, do you think i can just walk into a grocery store with my bag of coffee and use their grinding machine? i don't know how else to do it, the store i bought if from is out of the way so i won't be getting back there for a while.

My coffee grinder has an espresso setting. I think on mine the higher number is a finer grind. Is your adjustable? I'd probably just grind it on the finest grind.

DH just grinds coffee for his espresso maker for an extra long time. It seems to work just fine.

now that it's mentioned I think the extra fine grind just grinds it for longer. My husband pointed out that it can't really tell how small things are, it's just grinding on a timer.
