I'm not talking about CNN or Google or anything that's already common knowledge. I'm talking about slightly more obscure ones. Helpful ones, interesting ones, funny ones, whatever.
Examples: The Onion (http://www.theonion.com) which is a satirical fake news website.
Vault (http://www.vault.com) has reviews and helpful information about many companies for prospective employees.

Snopes (http://www.snopes.com) is really entertaining. They reveal whether urban legends are true or not. I've learned a lot on that site!

I second Dana's Dirt (http://www.danasdirt.com) for celeb gossip.
I also visit Dustin's Days Page (http://www.soapoperafan.com/days) for DOOL spoilers and such.
DH is addicted to Google Earth (http://earth.google.com). So much, in fact that he created a companion site for it called Google Earth Hacks (http://www.googleearthhacks.com) and now we're both addicted. :D

I spend way too much time on http://www.critiquecircle.com/, a writing workshop with chatforums.
I also tend to use Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page) to look up everything I need to know - be it a presice defenition of "emo" kids or the details of Lord Byron's life. It's an online encyclopedia which anyone can edit. Sure, that can mean that it's not always 100% reliable, but it's surprisingly good, since there are thousands of active users, adding to articles to the best of their knowledge, as well as stopping the trolls from ruining anything :)

It's a fascinating look inside people's thoughts. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad, sometimes disturbing, always thought provoking.
