I just went to my first WI in a month (no, I wasn't on program - don't ask!) and believe it or not I'm down 3.2 from the last WI and only 1.0 higher than my lowest  Amazing!
I also got the info for the pilot program (our center is a test center), so I'll be trying out the new stuff this week. I'm actually quite excited.

week 1: -2
goal: -12 lb by Christmas :) (12 weeks until Christmas)
I've started, quit, and restarted WW probably around 4 times. Atleast I'm back right? I only worked out twice (boo on me). I didn't count my points that great. New week, new start.
What's the pilot program?I don't know yet as I haven't read my info or watched the DVD (I'm on a mission to learn how to knit today). I have a feeling they don't want us to talk about it either, but I'll at least give a brief, non-specific overview when I learn it and give it a bit.

I love eggs! IMO Egg Beaters (or a similar brand) doesn't taste good by itself. Has anyone tried or do you think it would taste ok to scramble one shell egg together with one Egg Beater?

That sounds like a good idea! One egg isn't enough, but 2 is way too many points, IMHO.

I'd like to join this thread :) I've lost 20 pounds on WW and I'd like to lose about 15 more. I've slacked off for the past 2 months, but am back on the wagon now.
As for eggs, I like to mix one egg with 2 egg whites instead of using egg beaters.

Are there any other nursing mom's out there. I've recently got back on WW after having my son. I lost all my baby weight within weeks almost but am looking to drop a good 30 more. I lost 3 my first weigh in.
I love getting the extra 10 points for nursing but sometimes I feel like I'm eating way too much. Pretty much almost the same before I joined....just cut out the coke and other drinks with calories in 'em. Like today I had a McDonalds meal for 19 points but I still have 13 left. I remember the days way so long ago when 19 was all I got for the day. Not that I'm complaining...but I sure hope it works.

It's been a LOOONNNNNGGG time since I've posted here.
<waving to Katy and AttyGrl74>
So, on Aug. 30 I joined meetings to get help with the last few pounds, help with maintenance, and to become a lifetime member. I've heard HORROR stories about leaders, and I'm so happy to have just stumbled across this particular meeting and my leader. She is the best!
Yesterday I made my personal goal of 125 and started maintenance. It's a little scary, but still exciting.
I am accepting all the maintenance vibes I can get. As I look over my calendar for the next 6 weeks, I'm feeling even more anxious. My period is due next week, which is a guaranteed gain. Then on Nov. 2 we're flying to Ohio to visit family, and I haven't done too well on other vacations. Then the week after that, my period will be due again. And then the next week will be my 6th weigh-in and determine if I make lifetime or not. The pressure is on!

After a late spring and all summer off of counting points, I still managed to lose about 20 more pounds. I need to get back on plan. I'm hovering between about 74-78 pounds lost, but I want to cross into onederland and be safely there. Since I fluctuate by about four pounds, I'd ideally like to get at least to the 190-195 pound mark. So, yeah, I need to restart. I'd say there's no time like the current, but I'm going OOT (another funeral) for a little over a week starting tomorrow. It's so hard to stay OP when OOT, so I think I'll just continue what I've been doing - which is to try to make smart choices but not count points. When I get back, I'm going hard core though!
Are there any other nursing mom's out there. I've recently got back on WW after having my son. I lost all my baby weight within weeks almost but am looking to drop a good 30 more. I lost 3 my first weigh in.

I started this when I was 4.5 months PP. I'm still nursing. :) So, yes it can be done. I think the most important thing to do while you're nursing and on WW is to try to eat healthy. I made smart choices. But, since you get extra points while nursing, I'd do things like only having low fat sour cream instead of FF. I'd eat often, every few hours. If I had extra points at the end of the day, I'd eat some oatmeal cookies. Oatmeal cookies would add points, yet help in the milk production department, that's why I chose them rather than say, chocolate chip. ;)

Just found this thread. I started WW in Sept 2003 and got within 3lbs of my goal weight. I maintained that weight for about 6 months and then gained back about 10lbs over the next 6 months until I got pregnant. Once I had DS I lost all my baby weight and was down to my pre-pregnancy weight for a while. It crept back on though and by the time he was 16 months I had gained back 40-45lbs. So here I am! DH and I have started back and are currently on week 5.

Hey girls
I am going to Friday's tonight with Hubby and I looked at their menu now and I want to get the Grilled Cedar Salmon which I believe is a new item
Does anyone know what the points is for that meal or even the nutritional info? I tried googling it but no luck :( I have really done well the past week and want to keep it by knowing how many pts I am having. Should I just round it to about maybe 12 or so in case I stil cant find it?
I went to WW Thurs. night and happy to report I was down -2.4lbs :D I was so thrilled and made me feel I can do this.

Congrats August2005Bride!
Chili's Guiltless Grill Salmon is 10 points but that doesn't have rice. 7oz of grilled salmon is 5.5 points according to WW. The veggies will depend on how they are cooked and you can look the rice up online. I think depending on the rice and veggies 15 points would be good.
August2005Bride
10-27-2007, 05:01 PM
Thanks Kopper
I was going to put 12 points to be safe as I had very little rice and had the broccoli with the Salmon. I just cant find TGI Fridays nutrition info hardly anywhere. Plus, Applebee's Honey Grilled Salmon meal which has rice and brocoli is about 12 points also.
We just got back and it was really good. Hubby got desert and I just had a few bites so I figure I can put that as part of my 35 points.

For some ODD reason I was up today. I have counted every bite that has been put into my mouth, not even eaten all my flex's and AP's this week (which I usually do) and even bought a treadmill this past week and have been even RUNNING. I even took a water pill early this morning simply to take off any extra water. Still...up .8 - I cried in the bathroom today at the weigh in. It's a frusterating thing for me simply because I'm very much a number person, and seeing the number grow smaller is very discouraging to me. :( Ick. Even still, I was very careful today with what I ate, and though I didn't get to work out, I'm still here, doing it for me, so I'll be ok - once I get my head wrapped around the fact that I did gain this week. :(

Thanks, amy! It's just so frusterating b/c I'm working hard and yet not doing a thing. Going to buckle down and really be super careful this week - my mom says it's muscle weight gain b/c I'm walking & running more, but I disagree. I'm going to try the wendy plan this week to really jump things off, then I'll settle into a lesser point range if it works. :)

mrstim, I'm really sorry that you have had two bad WIs in a a row. :( It's frustrating, I know, since I've been doing the same. Although, I know what it is that I'm doing. It's simply not good enough for me to eat within my points range. I also have to watch what I'm eating. Crap carbs are likely to get me each time, no matter if they fall in my points range or not. What are you eating? I know you say that you're watching everything that is going into your mouth, but I would look closely to make sure that you're getting tons of veggies, good lean proteins, and good, complex carbs and not a ton of simple carbs.
Good luck to you, I'm sure even though your weight is staying the same, your clothes are probably going to start to get loose on you with all that running/walking! Make sure you take measurements too, that's a great motivator when you're not losing pounds.

I haven't really counted points in months, and now my pants are getting tight again. :( I'd actually like to lose another 25 pounds on top of what I've already lost.
So, I'm doing WW online once again. I'd love to go to traditional meetings as I used to, but the one near me is at the crack of DAWN on a Saturday morning, and I needs my sleep!
I also need to find time/energy to exercise...I was religiously doing C25K - even ran a 5K in May - but recently, it's just hard to fit any exercise into my day. But that will change. :)
Haven't weighed myself at all lately, but I will do so when I get home, and post my stats here again.

Okay...so I just got on the scale. I'm 10 pounds over what I was before the summer, and 13 away from goal. It's not as bad as I feared, but it's bad enough where I want to nip this in the bud.
And I'm 28 pounds away from my ultimate goal of 125, which so far has seemed unattainable...and a little unrealistic, too. Last time I weighed that, I looked skeletal. 135 is a better weight for my height, I think. (I'm 5'6") So I'll be happy if I reach 135. :)
Stats:
original starting weight: 179
Reached 140 in February 2007
Current weight: 153
Day 2 of counting points, and surpsingly, I'm not super hungry like I thought I would be!

I joined last week, so my first WI will be on Thursday. I think I'm doing *okay.* I went out with a friend for dinner/scrapbooking and we went to Steak and Shake. I knew I should have eaten better, but I didn't. I guess I'm not fully there yet. Let's suffice it to say I've wiped out my flex points and then some, but I'll work them off.
But, I was proud that I wrote down everything I ate - and am continuing to do so. :)

WTG Kopper and Dans*Girl! I need to follow in your footsteps - anyone mind if I join here? I haven't read through the whole thread - but seeing it on the front page prompted me to post.
Might help keep me accountable to actually keep track. I did WW for a while (well, LAWL then WW beginning in 2002) - kept most of the weight off till 2006 - was 14 lbs above official goal weight (132) when I got pg in October of 2006. DS is now 6 months old and I've been fluctuating since T-giving between 135.5 and 139.5 (this am) - I want to get down to 135 and ultimately 132 - then 128.
I was 136 last Tuesday so I'm hoping some of this morning's weight is water weight I am holing on to from salty / heavy food this weekend. Is this thread just for posting weights - or general weight loss stuff as well?
Originally (as of Jan 1, 2002) - 168
Goal - 130-135 (stayed there or below through mid-2005)
Up to 146 by October 2006 - then pregnant. (actually, I think I was up to 149 and down to 146 by the time I got pregnant)
Starting weight: 186 on July 17, 2007 (DS's birthday)
Weight as of 1/21/08: 139.5
First Goal: 135 - and to eat healthier and really pay attention to what I am eating.

I've decided to take one of my leader's suggestions and keep a journal... writing down what I feel, how I feel when I lose/gain, etc. It could be that I'm still on the initial high from joining and doing well. So, I'm hoping the journaling will help me over those humps.
I also set some goals and rewards for myself. My biggest one (right now) is to lose 30 pounds before we start TTC again. I set a deadline of my birthday; end of May, for that. I know I can do it. :D I set other goals, including more weight loss, but my eyes are on the TTC prize right now!!

Are those WW Cookbooks?
They are titled "Weight Watchers five ingredient 15 minute cookbooks", but they look like magazines and are located in the magazine section at Costco rather than in the book section. Seriously everything I've made from them has been so quick, easy and quite tasty.
Question: How often do you dig into your weekly points? The first week I didn't use any of them, but I've been really stressed these past two weeks and have used them quite a bit. How do they effect weight loss?

I'm a firm believer in eating the points allowed. Now, granted, I have a great deal of weight to loose but I believe the more you eat while loosing the more you'll be able to eat while maintaining. WW figures those weekly points into their program- they wouldn't be there if most couldn't loose if they are all consumed.
Try it out. You might find the extra calories (obviously, make healthy choices) help kick start things. Do you work out? Use the activity points too. :) Really, you just need to figure out how your body responds but I would really suggest using as many points as you can.

I agree with PP.
I don't sweat it the weekly points. If I need to dip into a few of them at dinner time to help make a complete meal than so be it.
Also, one night a week we splurge a bit.
It help me feel like this isn't a diet. That's important for the long run. I have a lot to lose as well.

I do generally save my flex points for having a few beers on the weekend or a couple of slices of pizza. I can easy stay within points during the week and "splurge" on the weekend while remaining on program.

Me too. My flex points have been used when I go out to dinner with friends because I KNOW the meals aren't the greatest - even if I get something that seems healthy.
This week has been going good for me. I'm eating meals that I made on Saturday and that has been helpful. I did the WW video with the dance cardio workout - not a huge fan. But, it was good to shake things up a bit. I want to do some walking tonight (WATP Express) and tomorrow before my weigh in. My goal is to work out 3x week - and that would put me at 4. Yeah, i like taking Friday and the weekends off :)
Thanks for the feedback. I make sure to get all my daily points in, so I will work on the extras as well to see what difference it makes for me. I guess I should have mentioned that I am nursing, so adding in the weekly points, I really feel as though I am eating a lot.

tgal I'm nursing too and it DOES seem, somedays, like a ton of points. I joke w/ DH that I'm going to nurse her until she's 17 just so I can have the extra points :) I really do try and focus (and plan) during the week and eat my points and then on the weekend I can have a couple of "treats" without totally blowing the week.
Might as well add- I weighed in this morning...down 1.4 pounds. that makes 16 total since I started WW on 1/2 :) I have a fat ton to go but I'll take that. I'm especially grateful for my loss this week b/c of a bit too much partying w/out the kiddos on friday night. Beer points add up :)

HI! I hope it's okay if I join in here. And I have a couple of questions. I went to the WW website to find a meeting location near me and I was just wondering if I should go to the meeting and then join up there or if I am supposed to join from the website? I see that if you do a monthly pass or something you get all the etools and meetings. Correct? Is there anything else I should get? And also it says to be at the meeting 30 mins ahead of time to register, but the only meeting in town that I can get to is at 6 and since I get off at 5:30 there is no way I can get there 30 mins. before. So is that a really important rule or can I just get there at 6? Otherwise I won't make it to meetings. I wanted to start out going just to get the gist of everything.
I have read all the WW threads and I am so impressed with the support here and the success stories were awesome to read. This is a really great resource as those WW boards are very strange and the format sucks. I can't wait to try some of the great recipes that y'all have posted. My goal is to lose 30-40 pounds. I hope to come back next week with a loss! :)

blondie I can't answer you either. I just do it at home. Found all the info online and do it that way. I know it works as I lost 50 lbs before having my daughter in July. It took me a while to find the motivation again but now, since the beginning of the year, I'm back at it. If you can't get there early I'd be they'd let you sit through the meeting and fill paperwork afterwards. I can't believe you'd be the only person ever to have scheduling conflict with the time.
Kooper Nicely done. You are doing so well!
robyn OMG, look at Seth. I really need to pop into the July/August Momma's thread and see more of our babies. They are growing up so quickly. Jocelyn is all over the place these days.
Blondie: I can answer :)! I joined online first then went to a meeting. I didn't want the hassle of trying to sign up there because the friend I attend with told me the lines get a little long. This was my experience.
After registering online for the monthy pass, I took my print out to the meeting. I waited in line (it was long) and got up to the weigh in station where they handed me another short form to fill out. After filling it out, I had to stand in line AGAIN. I thought that was a major PIA, but I think the forms are right by the door, so if you see one pick it up and fill it out before you get in line. The form is their copy that they keep on file and you have to retrieve it for them to fill out at every meeting (you get your form everytime you go in to weigh in). The form is filed according to your last name and meeting day/time. When you are weighing in you give them your copy of the file card, the file card and you write your name and monthy pass number on a sign in sheet. FYI, if you have a regular meeting that you want to attend, but attend a different one for a weigh in for a week, make sure you ask them to file your card on your regular meeting day (not a big deal, but they will if you ask). So, after you do all the weigh in procedures, you sit down for the meeting. Man, ours last forever, we have a crazy group that loves to talk (10am-11am). Then after that they do an orientation for all new members. I found it worth staying because I just didn't get everything from the website, then again I don't have time to sit and read these days. Plus, for motivational purposes, I need both online and meetings. I really think it depends on what your needs are and if you can start off with just online.
I would suggest signing up online though if you do attend a meeting, it really did bypass some of the paperwork.
Kopper: Awesome job!

After that I'm sort of stopping since if we do get preggers, I can't lose weight until after the birth - but I can maintain and have a low weight gain (per my doctor).

I actually have a whole list of goals :)
10 pounds = mani/pedi (hoping to get this before vacation next week)
20 pounds = new shoes
30 pounds = TTC
40 pounds = massage
After that I'm sort of stopping since if we do get preggers, I can't lose weight until after the birth - but I can maintain and have a low weight gain (per my doctor).
Awesome! When I lost 50lbs before getting pg w/ dd (who was born 7/14/07) i had just one goal- at 50 lbs lost I bought myself a Tiffany's necklace :) It's back in it's pretty little pouch and box. I will not wear it until I get back down to that(about 20 more pounds). I'd not thought of what I'd get myself beyond that (I have about 115 to loose, total) but for now the pedi and then my necklace are my goals.
If you get pg please, for your own sake, stay on program as much as you can. I had great plans but didn't actually execute them. Man oh man that weight crept back so quickly during the pregnancy.
Chimi: Awesome, keep it up girl!
Blondie: Glad that helped. I didn't mean to make it seem like the meetings are a PIA, to me they really aren't. I actually look forward to attending them because I want and need the support. I agree with Chimi though, having a good leader is key. I went to a meeting on a Saturday and didn't care for the leader. Everyone in our town raves about our Wed. leader, but I can't make that meeting.
Well, our weigh in was canceled again today due to ice, so I have to go tomorrow.
Goals: I haven't really set any, but I really want to be to my 10% goal by the end of March and if I make it I am going to splurge on a sexy dress for a wedding we are attending. Then my next goal will be for the first weekend in May, I will splurge again on a couple fantastic outfits and accessories for our annual shin dig if I loose another 10 lbs.

Thank you all for the info. tgal I didn't think you made it sound that way at all. I think I do need to go to meetings for motivational purposes. I like the thought of having something to look forward to all week and that will hold me accountable I think. We'll see.
Well, I signed up online, so it's on. :) I am planning to go to my first meeting Wednesday. I would like to know officially how much I weigh. I went to the doctor last Saturday and they weighed me on the old fashioned scale and said I weighed 181. My goal is 140. So roughly 40 pounds then. Ideally I should probably weigh in the 130's (I'm short, not quite 5'3") but I don't want to be too thin. I feel like when my face gets too thin I look older. I wish my meetings weren't at 6pm. I sure do like to weigh first thing in the morning! Maybe I should buy my own scale too.

Hi everyone - I have been on WW before but got pg and am just getting around to starting back up again, 2.5 months postpartum. I'm going to a meeting tomorrow so I'll post my stats then. I got pg with DS, gained 44lbs, lost 20, then got pg again. The second time around I only gained 16lbs so right now I'm just under where I was in between pregnancies (which is way too much for me!).
I am going to be the matron of honor in my best friend's wedding in April, so I would love to lose at least 20lbs by then. I have 11 weeks, so it might be tough, but I'm going to try! I need to be diligent about going to meetings and writing down what I eat - if I don't do both of those things, I get totally off track.
OK, I just signed up for the Monthly Pass! I am NOT looking forward to seeing my weight tomorrow...
ETA - here are my stats:
SW: 207.8lbs
CW: 207.8lbs
Goal #1: -10lbs
Ultimate Goal: 150bs
I went to weigh in this morning, but didn't stay for the meeting because the place was a mad house due to them canceling yesterday. I am down another 1.2. That puts me over 8lbs total.

tgal Congrats on your loss!
emmjay Good luck at your weigh in.
Well, I'm an official member and have yet to start the program. I have been sick for the last few days and have barely eaten a thing. I weighed on my scale this morning and it said 175 give or take, but it's an old scale. I want a new digital one. Hopefully I can start to eat more than chicken noodle soup soon. I wanted to lose weight but not like this. My first "official" weigh in will be at my meeting on Wed morning. So I will take my personal weigh ins with a grain of salt. And I know I have to be careful because as soon as I kick this cold, I will get my appetite back tenfold. I need to be ready.
Have a great day, Everyone! :)

I had my first official weigh in! I weighed 176.4. I have lost 5 pounds since the doctor's office, but that is from being sick and not from following the program. My points were calculated at 27 per day. That seems like a LOT. My goal for next week is to lose 2 pounds, but I would be happy with any loss.

SW 176.4
goal:
next WI 174.0
I need to kick this cold so I can get some exercise.

Can I jump in here?
I started WW on January 3. I'm using the E-tools and doing it on my own. I did WW back in 2001 and had the info, so I've decided to give it a shot on my own before deciding to go to meetings. I have 3 friends who are also doing WW and we have our own "weigh in" days where we all weigh ourselves in the morning then call each other to give our updates. It has been really fun so far and I've been successful!
Here are my stats:

Hi, Sara! Congrats on your losses so far. You are doing well. It's cool that you have friends doing it with you. I'm hoping that when I start losing my sister might join me.
I just want to say that I have been eating the taco soup, and I LOVE it. I froze half of it, and I still have quite a bit. It's very filling and was just the thing for my sinuses this week!
I weighed in this morning and am down another 3.6 for a total of 12.2. :D
Congrats Sara and good luck Blondie!

This weekend was HARD! I did great all week, and then my parents were here visiting from Louisiana and Friday night we had steak and mashed potatoes. Then Saturday night we had pizza. I ate all my flex points and then some. But today I was back on track and I did really good. I think I will do better next weekend because there won't be any company and no eating out. Also hopefully no more PMS. That doesn't help either. So if I do really good until Thursday maybe I will still see a loss at my weigh in. If not, I will just do better next time. Now that I'm well, I can start to get some activity points too.
Have a great Monday, Everyone! :)

Congrats Emmjay and kopper!
Blondie, I hear you on the weekend - we were at a wedding on Saturday, and I did indulge in dessert (cake) and then they had cookies outside the reception with coffee. Chocolate chip cookies are my downfall!
Looks like it's been a while since I checked on.
The morning of 1/21 (last check in) I was 139. I've been fluctuating between 137 and 139 for the last few weeks. Saturday/Sunday - I was 135.5 - 136 :)
ETA - I had a nice NSV on Saturday. I wore a black dress to the wedding that I haven't been able to wear in a few years - size 6 :) - I think I am back to better than I was before I got pregnant! (I had gained about 14 lbs, so I was 146 when I got pregnant with Seth). And the bridesmaid dress that I wore in October (3 mos pp) was way too big to wear this weekend! If only that bride had stuck to her original February wedding date instead of moving it to October, *lol*
This morning the scale said 137.5 again, but I am going to see if I can keep Saturday as my "official" WI day - but I am just doing this on my own for now. It helped that I too was feeling sick Thursday and Friday so I could barely eat. Last night I had cheeseless pizza with pieces of chicken tender on top (and probably not enough water) so I am hoping that accounts for this am's (temporary, I hope!) gain!
SW: 186 (7/17/07)
CW: 136
GW #1 - 135

I'm just hoping to stay in the 135 range for a bit, and work on fluctuating between 132 and 135 instead of 135 and 139 - I really need to be watching what I eat to do so!
Kopper - hope you feel better soon!

Kopper Congrats on losing 30 pounds. That is awesome. I'm sorry you are sick and hope you feel better soon.
Robyn Congrats on your loss as well. Your stats are so great. Losing 50 lbs in less than a year is great and is very encouraging.
I had a slight NSV today when my scrub pants felt looser and were falling down in the waist. That is something I hope. haha
QOTD (or maybe 2 questions) This has probably been discussed before, but do you always eat all your points? I definitely always try to hit the exact number, but like today for instance, I have one point left, and I'm thinking of just letting it go. Will it really matter in the long run? I don't know what to eat that is one point. What are some one or two point snacks that you eat? My menu has been pretty much the same as far as snacking goes (lots of fruits and a few crackers or maybe a half a yogurt) and I'm afraid I will get bored with eating the same stuff. I'm doing well with my main dishes, but I have to eat something every couple of hours to keep my blood sugar up. I don't want to eat all my points in snacks even though they're healthy snacks so I need some ideas.
SaraSchlick
02-13-2008, 07:40 AM
QOTD - Do I eat all of my points? I usually do now because I have dropped down to 24 points per day and it has been especially hard on me for some reason. When I was up at 26 points I would usually have 2-3 points left over at the end of the day.
As far as snacking, I've been eating a lot of raw veggies (broccoli, cauliflower, baby carrots) They are mostly 0 points up to about a cup. I have also been eating a lot of light microwave popcorn. 1 cup is 0 points on some brands. Yogurt is very filling for me, although it's two points for 6 oz of the light stuff.

Great job on the losses this week, ladies! Keep it up!
Great losses ladies!
Blondie- I am nursing and I hate to say this, but eating well it is realy tough for me to get in all of my points every day. I get +12 just for nursing. I do it though sometimes the bad way, eating out. I try hard to get all 38 points in every day, but rarely dip into the flex points. I am sure after I finish nursing I will be using them too. As for snacks, I need something sweet every day, so here are a few of my not so healthy options. Sugar Free jello pudding cups, weight watchers frozen fudge pops, pop corn, weight watchers peanut butter bars (you have to buy these at the meeting, they are 7.50 and rock) all of which are 1 point each.
I had a 1.8 lb loss at today's weigh in for a total of 14lbs.
Does anyone know if the meeting topics are the same across the country? I really had a good time at our meeting today.

QOTD (eating all of my points): well, I am doing Core so this probably doesn't apply but I do eat all of my 35 weekly points. Those pretty much go to bread, cheese, chocolate and wine (my favorite foods!). I think it is important to eat most of, if not all, of the points because otherwise your body might think you are starving and you might not lose as much weight. For me it's also more sustainable in the long term if I eat them all because I know I can have the extras.

Great job on the losses tgal and emmjay!
Thanks Blondie! I had some help in the weight loss department - you know, giving birth and nursing and all ;) so I can't really take full credit for losing 50 lbs in a year - but you CAN do it! The first time I lost weight in 2008 I took off 30 lbs between January and June, and another 5-7 by November of that year - so it definitely can be done!
tgal - how do you figure out your nursing points? I thought it was 10 points if you were exclusively nursing - or 2 points per nursing session. I haven't been to a meeting in a long time though. DS has just started solids and I pump at work and BF at home and on weekends so I'm curious how to count my points.
As far as eating all of my points - I have not been good about counting :o - but I am just trying to be more accountable to myself - watch what I eat. That hasn't really worked so well this week - I've been eating my points in Herhsey Kisses with almonds the last few days :o - and trying to compensate elsewhere.
Between that - and not having dinner last night till we got home from the hospital at 1 am (DS spiked a 105 fever - he's fine, but we wanted to have him checked out) - I'm surprised to be down a pound since last week. I'm not sure if it will last - may be due to stress and the Hershey's will catch up to me, but for now, here's my stats:
SW: 186 (7/17/07)
W1: 139 (1/21)
W4: 136 (2/9)
W5: 135 (2/17)
CW: 135 !!
GW #1 - 135
GW #2 - 132
Ultimate goal - 128
So, I met Goal #1 :) - now I'm hoping I can just maintain here and work on getting lower, instead of fluctuating back to 139 - we'll see! (I'd better lay off the chocolate - but I'm really wanting it these days!)
emmjay: Congrats on the loss! I live further west in VA and when I lived the DC metro area I never thought to join WW. Sorry I can't help you out on the meeting location. I can take a look at their website and tell you what might be most convient in terms of their locations, traffic, etc.
Robyn: There is a personal points quiz online now and it asks specifically if you are a nursing mom. It doesn't tell you there that it is 12 points, but in the booklet they give you now when you become a new member it lays out the specific number of points for each question you answer. Nursing mom's get 12. I am actually in a limbo over these 12 points, as I am going back to work in a week and will be pumping 4 days. I know with dd#1 that I started gaining back weight when I started pumping. It wasn't a huge gain, but I slowly started putting the weight back on, so I am wondering if these points will be accurate if I am not ebfing. I plan to ask at next week's meeting.
I am having a horrible weekend. Yesterday was dd's second bday and when I get stressed I tend to give in to the ugly. This means eating out, a lot! Not to mention eating at Olive Garden for dd's bday dinner. I had to nurse dd#2 right when we were being seated, so I just told dh to order my regular. I didn't have a chance to look at a menu to choose a healthier option. By the time I got back to the table I gave in and said hell with it, I have my weekly points. To add insult to injury, I didn't get a chance to go grocery shopping and my parents picked up breakfast at the waffle shop this morning,! Now I am faced with dd's bday party this afternoon surrounded by cake and pizza. I have been putting off activity, but I need to start this week, no excuses.

Great losses everyone!! It's nice to see this thread busy again. :D
QOTD: Yes, I almost always eat all my points and sometimes 1-2 extra. I'm at 22 points per day now so it's a lot easier to eat them all. Transitions are hard for me and I know it will be an adjustment when I go to 20 points. Thank goodness that's as low as it goes!
MES - It has been easier for me this time I think b/c we don't eat out that much at all either. DH was laid off in Novemeber so we didn't eat out at all from then until February. Since September we've eaten out maybe 10-12 times total except when we were OOT last month.

Congrats everyone on your losses! I am so new to this and I just hope to be where y'all are someday.
Good news though, I made it to 174! Which was my last goal. So I lost 2 more pounds and I'm so excited. My regular meeting is supposed to be tomorrow, but I can't go. :( I will just have to weigh at home. I wanted to go because I think I have to change my points now. Doesn't it go down at 175? I think I will redo the online quiz and drop a point or something.
Oh, and I made the cola chicken and I loved it! I don't know if I already posted that. I'm having a deja vu moment. But it was really good! It turned out to be like a tangy BBQ sauce flavor. I can't believe Diet Coke and ketchup tastes like that together. Who knew? I will definitely make that again. I don't understand the points per serving though. I cooked 4 chicken breasts like the recipe said, and it says 4 points/serving. However, one serving of chicken is 3 ozs right? So is it 4 points for 3 ozs or 4 points for one chicken breast? These were kind of large ones. I hope that isn't a stupid question. :o
RobynScott

Blondie - not a stupid question, but I don't think I'm coherent enough to answer :o Would you mind posting the recipe though? I know I've seen it before but I've never tried it and I think it might be worth checking out.

I had my WI last night after a week in Jamaica. I lost 4 pounds! :D I'm down a total of 10.2 since I started in late January.
I'm so excited about the loss because I totally didn't think it would be that much. But, I did get back on the WW train when we got back, and even on vacation we didn't eat a lot (it was not good for us though). Not yet motivated to work out since it's just YUCKY in wisconsin, but I'm eating right. I've got tons of low point foods in the house now, so even when I have a "weak moment" I'm not totally pigging out on crap.
Sunday my mom, sister and I are making some meals for the next week. I'm excited for that. :)

Urrrgg, this is my first week back to the office after being off for maternity leave. I've been horrible this week. I'm talking about Starbucks, the office cafeteria, you name it. Add to that Af arriving, I am afraid to hop on the scale. If anyone isn't too shy to respond, have you had a gain the week AF arrives??? A friend of mine did the program a while back and said she gained around 5 pounds around that time every month when she weighed in. Please help calm my fear of the scale !
ETA: I don't know if anyone ever posted this site. It is a bit annoying, but has amazing points for restaurants. www.dwlz.com
I have a love hate relationship with this site, apparently the cranberry muffin I ate the other day had 11 points!

tgal - I use dwlz.com quite often when I eat out at restaurants. Yeah, it's annoying, do I really need to know that latte had like 15 points?? - but it helps with keeping accountable.
I stayed the same at my WI last night. I lost 4 pounds last week, so I'm not surprised. Overall I'm down -10.2 pounds. I'd like to lose another 20 by the end of May. I know I need to kick up the workouts to get there.

So my loss this week is 1 lb. Pretty good considering AF showed up this morning right in time for WI. I am down a total of 7.5lbs in 4 weeks. I am hoping for 2.5lb loss next week so I can get my 10 lb "treat", a pedi & brow wax which I desparately need.
I get all worked up over nothing. I had a 2.6 loss today. That put me over 16 total.
A friend attends ww with me and she is all about cooking. Anyway, she made these and gave me one this morning. They rock! She said she froze a batch and they seemed to be a bit more moist when she took them out of the freezer. So, I am not sure how they taste fresh, but I thought I would share! These were much better than my 11 point cranberry muffin at starbucks this week.

I don't even want to weigh in tomorrow - we just moved, which was hard enough on being able to cook properly, and plus we're staying with my parents, and my dad isn't the most WW-friendly cook in the world. I'm scared!
Wow, Chimi is that a loss in one week. That is awesome, you go girl!
I had a 2 pound gain this week. Stress is really getting to me since I am back to work and I am miserable with this crappy 2 hour each way commute. Here is my dirty laundry confession.
ghirardelli brownies
Amy's frozen entree's for lunch the majority of the week.
I can't tell you how many of the 1 point peanut bliss bars I ate in any given day. I need to stop buying two boxes at a time.
Coastal Flats for lunch one day this week.
McDonalds 2 x this week, breakfast and lunch.
Starbucks soy lattes every morning on my drive to work.
One would wonder how I gained two pounds !
Did I mention that dh and I are suckers for girl scout cookies? Not because we plan to eat them, but because we just know so many people who have little girls in GS. So, the tally as of right now is 13 boxes of Thin mints and 7 boxes of Samoas. I think I am going to drop them off at the soup kitchen tomorrow, but in the mean time they sit here and stare me in the face. :(

My loss was a one week loss, tgal. I'm down a total of 15.2. I think it had to do with me actually working out! Crazy concept, I know :)
Although, this weekend I totally used all of my flex points. So I'm back on track for the week.
BuffaloBlondie - some of my favorite snacks are:
sugar free pudding (1 point)
100 calorie packs (2 points - just provide enough "crunch" to get my over that hump)
Preztels dipped in pudding (sweet and salty - yum!)
pineapples
The WW 2 point bars - my saviors!
Pretzel thins - 2 points and enough crunch to help
I'm also a huge sucker for ice cream. Seriously; that's my weakness! We do a LOT of Sweet Freedom bars. Cheaper than WW ice cream, and only 2 points. Blue Bunny makes them. Also, the Blue Bunny no sugar added ice cream. 3 points for a half a cup. Still tastes "normal" and you can get some good flavors. Oh, and Skinny Cow stuff. We got a great deal on some at Costco (40 sandwiches for $6) but normally they are way too expensive.
I weighed in last Friday and was down 2.8 pounds. That makes up for my gain and then some. This week is going to be tough with the holiday and we have a rehearsal dinner Friday and the wedding Saturday. I'm not sure yet if I will have time to weigh in this week or not.

BuffaloBlondie - as my leader would say "did you rob a bank?" :D Eating isn't a bad thing. Could you have been worse? As long as you get back on track, that's the important thing, but try not to beat yourself up about it.
My Easter was okay. Had the ham and potatoes, but that was about it. I had a cup of mashed potatoes, probably 4 oz of ham and veggies. It was very helpful that A) we hosted Easter and B) my sister is very into WW so I could get away with doing WW meals for the family. We did, however, have chocolate pound cake for dessert - topped with fresh strawberries and either low sugar ice cream or ff cool whip (but the cake was 6 points a slice! ) need to get back to the gym now. I stepped on the scale this morning and it was reading the same as last week - so I think that's pretty good. I'd love a loss this week though - gotta work on that ;)

I do hope for two pounds though. Cross your fingers for me :)
By the way, I am jealous of your easter holiday eating. We live a state away from all of our friends and family so we officially missed Easter. And since we're doing WW we decided to just eat like every other day :(

Hey everyone, Id like to join!
I have done WW before but now I am doing it on my own. Since I am not going to meetings I have set my own weigh in as Monday mornings and I will just report here. Hopefully that will help me stay accountable.
I weighed in today at 166, which I think is my highest weight ever. I am 5'4. I am currently at a size 12, but they are getting VERY tight and I refuse to go up another size. My goal size would be an 8/10...what I was about 2 years ago. My goal weight is 135. I would LOVE to be 130 but I know that I would be very happy and most importantly HEALTHY at 135.
Anyway, Im starting with a 5 lb goal for May 1. I hope I reach it!
Good luck to all this week...I am subscribing to cheer everyone on!
Kopper: Great loss and I hope you feel better soon!
Welcome Ambula!
Well, I finally got my bum to the gym. I've been so stressed lately and just pulled myself away from my desk for an hour to start the couch to 5 k challenge. 9.4lbs is awesome!! If I remember correctly WW says 1-2lbs per week. 2lbs is the MOST they recommend. We've been back on plan for over 6 months now and my DH has still lost more than me. It sucks but you kind of just have to forget what they are losing and focus on yourself. Your losses will slow down too so don't be suprised. What you are losing is healthy and great!! Good job!
In 6 months I've lost 36.6lbs so right at 6lbs per month.
Welcome ambula and good luck!!

ShamrockBride - I've been on WW since early Feb and I'm only down 8 lbs, so don't feel bad! Oh, and my DH is down like 17 so I know how that feels too.

Men have it so much easier, don't they? So annoying. My husband stops drinking regular soda for a week and drops 5 pounds.
I'm kind of lurking in the thread right now. I lost 40 pounds last year on one of those medically supervised fasts. It was great, and I maintained the loss, but that was all I maintained. I haven't yet mastered the art of eating well on my own and I know I need the structure of something like WW. Plus I still have some more to lose.
You guys are motivating! I have my week one weigh in tomorrow.
I thought I was supposed to see 2 lb losses every week, that first week just felt sooooo good
If you aren't watching the Biggest Looser you should. Two of the men gained a pound last week and they are working out 3+ hours a day and eating calorie restricted diets. I'm sure at this point in the game it is muscle mass, but still. Seeing the show really puts everything in perspective for me. I aim for a pound a week and if I gain or have less I certainly know why ! This week I can't lay off the chocolate, so we will see how my weighin goes. I don't expect much, but deep down I want my 10
%. My mind and my mouth aren't cooperating with me though!

Hey girls, (tgal- I'm stalking every thread you're in! ;) )
I'm interested in joing ww. I've been to their website and found a meeting location. Do I just show up? Seems wierd, like I need to call someone and register beforehand or something.

I've got my weigh-in tonight. I'm *hoping* to get closer to 20 pounds gone. I would need about 5 pounds (thanks to my 1# gain last week).
This week I've been watching what I eat, tracking everything and really hitting the gym. Last night I actually did about 5 minutes of running. Granted, I broke it up into segments, but I am really proud of that! I even went and bought myself some flowers :)
When I jumped on the scale this morning, I was showing about 25 pounds lost since I started. Since I weigh at night, and after I eat stuff, I know that will go up. That's why I'm thinking I can get to my 20 pounds this week.
ETA - ShannonGH - yup, just show up at the meeting. They will have you fill out some paperwork and then you can weigh in. :) Pretty simple and straightforward.

Hi, ladies! I joined WW online this morning after much discussion with DH. We both agree that we need to do something about the weight that has creeped on after two kids. I'm looking forward to the support that you provide each other!
I have one question for those of you using the points program. Do you often cook using the WW recipes or not? Also, what do you buy for snacks?

I have one question for those of you using the points program. Do you often cook using the WW recipes or not? Also, what do you buy for snacks?
Sometimes I use WW recipes. DH is not a veggie guy - and the WW recipes have a lot of veggies. He would prefer to cook chicken breasts with brown rice; which we do a lot of.
For dinners, we just make what we normally would - burgers, pasta, chicken, etc - but make it points friendly. So lean beef, whole wheat pasta - and we watch our portions. That's the big part; portion sizes. Thankfully DH is at home during the day, so he will measure stuff out for us and I don't have to worry about it.
For lunches, I usually take a premade WW meal. Not the SmartOnes (although they are handy!) but WW meals I make on the weekend, store in single serving containers and either freeze or refrigerate. If we have leftovers from dinner, that's easy to take since it's already points ready. but if we don't have leftovers, I know I have a big selection of meals I can grab and go with. :)
Shannon: I kinda like having you around ;)! Welcome! I registered online and glad I did because the lines at my meeting get fairly long.
Speaking of meals. I do cook from the ww magazines quite often. They 5 ingredients (most of which I already have) cook in 15-20 minutes. They come out and you can find them in the magazine section every season.
Just wanted to share if you all didn't see it on ww website. A friend shared with me and this was so easy and well worth making to get 3 meals out of it.
In a crock dump
a can of rotele (SP?)
a can of diced tomatos (I used the can with chilis)
a can of mexicorn
two large chicken breasts
package of low sodium taco seasoning
a can of black beans (I added them right before eating)
I also shredded the chicken when it was done. One serving is 6 points
You might get sick of it if you do every day, but this is what I did with it.
1st night we made brown rice and served the above over the rice with lowfat cheese and sour cream
2nd night we used the above to make tacos.
3rd day for lunch - the evening prior I poured chicken broth into what was left over and made tortila soup.

The two weight gains were right after I had Chinese food. Please note: I do have a LOT to loose, so my leader isn't too very concerned that I have high weight losses each week. Plus, I added running to my exercise which does burn more. I eat all my points and use my Flex, so I'm doing okay - promise :)

The first day and a half has gone pretty well, so far. I'm alloted 26 points each day, but only ate up to 21 yesterday. I felt pretty satisfied by that. I think the key for me is going to be filling up on the zero and one point items. Sometimes, I feel really hungry, but when I eat a 1 point yogurt (the Weight Watchers Cherry Cheesecake is really good), then I feel better.
I'm thinking I need to strat integrating exercise into my plan as well. It's hard for me to have scheduled exercise times with my job and the kiddos, but now that it's warmer, I'll probably go for walks in the evenings.

Happy Birthday ShamrockBride!
I've been on the plan 2 days now. So far so good. I have a lot of points since I'm nursing and I know I'm probably using too many on starches and not enough fruits/veggies. On Sunday I stocked my kitchen w/ low pt foods- I made up some 1 pt muffins, hard-boiled eggs, etc. I'm a huge chocolate lover so also tried the devil's food cake mix w/ canned pumpkin trick...not too bad!

And thanks shannon, it was very happy :) maybe a little too much so, tomorrow will tell

Had my WI tonight too... I'm up 2 pounds. I'm not disappointed though. I didn't track AT ALL this week and didn't hit the gym. I ate a lot, but in the grand scheme of things I could have eaten more and eaten worse food. We don't have too much junk food; everything in the house is pretty healthy.
I just had a very rough week. I know food couldn't make it better; I actually stopped eating a few times because I realized it wouldn't make me feel better. So I guess I'm making progress there. :)
This week - back to the gym. Back to training for the run. Back to tracking! :D

Good luck to you all this week.

Alright, I've been so stressed lately and I'm not going to lie, I was so PO'd last week when I didn't get my 10% and actually gained .8. I know AF arrived and I ate like crap, but come on can't this be easy:confused:! Anyway, I felt sorry for myself last weekend and ate a small pan of brownies and a 1/2 a pizza only to be even more disgusted with myself. I finally got my head out of my bum on Sunday and got back on the wagon. For me food is totally an emotional thing. I did so much better during the week and ended up loosing 1.6. I'm still not proud of myself though, I really need to work on the emotional side of things.

I really don't know what I want my final goal weight to be at. I'm tall enough that I can weigh quite a bit and not look half- bad. So my goal is not so much a weight number as more of fitting into some of my size 12/14 clothes. It's just getting too expensive to have to keep buying new clothes.

Hey girls!
I weighed in this week but forgot to post. I have had pneumonia for 2 weeks and no appetite...except for things I shouldnt be eating (like a random craving for a honey bun!)
Here are my stats:
Starting weight: 166
Week 1 162 -4
Week 2 159.6 -2.4
Total -6.4
Im very nervous about regaining my appetite...so I will be watching seriously what I eat whenever that time comes. I havent been to the gym and its killing me...all that work to build endurance is just about wasted. Oh well, I have to rest in order to get better I guess.
For those of you with losses, good job! Those that gained, move on and dont worry...its a marathon not a sprint! Good luck to all!
