I was gettig ready to start drying my hair.

The toilet is right next to the sink and the electrical outlet is on the wall in between them. When getting ready to plug my dryer in, I dropped it and the plug/box(ya know, the box with the reset button that the plus is on) fell into the toilet. Now I'm paranoid to plug it in and get zapped.

Should I be worried? The dryer itself came no where near the water. I'm running late and really need to dry my hair...lol.

You need to make sure the plug is completely dry before plugging it in.

Yeah, I probably would not use it right now.

I'd wait and let it completely dry out, maybe a couple of days.

Put the plug in a bowl of rice. The rice will help draw out the moisture. We did this with some cordless phones that took a swim in Katrina, and, they work fine now. The key is to not plug anything in until it's completely dried out.

Update:

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping to get an answer as soon as I posted, so I didn't have time to stick around that long....I was running late. :o

Anywho, I ended up drying the plug off and putting it in the outlet. I turned the thing on and threw it...haha....and when it didn't start zapping I figured it was fine. But I was really worried there for a minute. This is probably the dumbest thing I've done lately...lol. I picked it up and finished my hair with no problems.

It's very good that the GFCI tripped. Really, don't do that again. ;)
