Let's get ready to take on the suckfest that is the Cowboys! They had 5 interceptions (2 for touchdowns) and 6 turnovers last night. Unfortunately, the Bills still couldn't hold them off.....but we can take them! Brady vs Romo???? Brady all the way!

I might even drop the "almost" from that one! I don't know... I love the Pats. Winning is good. But I'm starting to agree with The Sports Guy, who has been calling them the "Cobra Kai Yankees" (and he's from here too!). But I still hate the Colts...so if they can manage another Cobra Kai Yankee performance on Sunday, that will be fine with me ;).

Pocahontas, you've probably already found out but it's 4 p.m. :).

Dillon retired at the end of last year, no trades--I believe he asked to be let out of the remainder of his contract and the Pats agreed. He turned down a few offers to visit teams earlier this season. The pre-game shows up here mentioned he & Belichick had issues last year, and speculated that he would not be a great fit in the locker room.

I am SO annoyed...I fell asleep in the 3rd quarter and missed the end.

So I understand both teams are not happy with the officiating, but some of the Ravens were really vocal. Does anyone know if their comments were enough to get them fined? What is the threshold on that? Brady said in his press conference that he couldn't comment on plays he thought were badly called b/c he'd be fined.

The only fine I know of for sure is the guy who threw the official's flag into the stands. Not sure about comments made after the game.

I read this morning that 3 additional Ravens were fined for their comments after the game, and the coach issued some kind of apology.

But what I came in here to say was that yuck, that 2nd TD was vintage Moss. I do not like the walking over the goal line; it's obnoxious. I'm still glad he scored, though :o.

they are playing well, but now the pressure is really on them, even more so then the regular season. 16 and 0 means nothing without the Superbowl title. They really need to win it all, or it will always be a "but". They went 16-0 but they lost early in the playoffs. The went 16-0 but did not win it all, etc.

Thank you KWSU because after reading that thread I thought it was just me. I mean I like the Steelers because I was a Jerome Bettis fan and now am a Tomlin fan but jeez...I can think of plenty of SMUG, OBNOXIOUS (Peyton's face comes to mind for OBNOXIOUS  )players in the NFL. Brady is NOT one of 'em. Obviously, THEY didn't see the interview with him a couple Sundays ago. He is actually quite down to earth.

I am not a big Patriots fan, but I don't find Brady obnoxious at all. He seems pretty down to earth and regularly puts himself down as just another player who is surrounded by a group of good players. He might be the most passive superstar I can remember to be honest.

TracieB
01-01-2008, 10:33 AM
Peyton Manning obnoxious? Hmm... that's not a word I'd use to describe him. I can think of plenty Patriot players use right for that term, though.

kwsu44

I'm not a Colts fan, and I don't think Peyton Manning is an ass either. In fact, I really like players on other teams, they don't just have to be Patriots players.

I think every team has its fair share of jerks and nice people. It's human nature.

I think Tom Brady is really down to earth. He seems to handle the hype really well and always deflects praise from himself. There aren't a lot of players who woudl do that (Terrell Owens comes to mind).

I don't know if my dislike of Tom Brady is due to him specifically (although he does seem a little pompous, IMO), but rather all the hype that he gets from commentators. I mean, we get it - he's good. You tell us during every.single.time football show. The stroking of his balls by the football "analysts" is so annoying. Peyton Manning must be so disappointed that they lost, especially with Eli winning last night. I can say it now that the Colts are out of it.....A COLTS/GIANTS superbowl would have been interesting.
